a/n: I won't be writing as often becusde I'm writing my final rn, also this is short because i have a hard time imagining luffy being romantic so... enjoy!

now, it doesn't matter how obviously and hopelessly in love you are with Luffy, he's just not going to see it.

he doesn't see you make starry eyes at him, because his eyes are just as starry on a regular basis. when he catches you admiring him, he just assumes that you zoned out. (because he does that alot too)

so when he finds an incredibly detailed sketch of himself laying around on the ship, he excitedly goes from crew member to crew member, asking who drew it.

when he gets to you, notebook and pencil in hand drawing yet another portrait of him, you hang your head in mortification as he marvels at your work.

so imagine his suprise when he snatches that notebook our of your hands with a quickness to see what else you've steched in there, only to find himself on every. single. page.

I swear that his excited screaming is enough to alert other ships at sea of your exact location, but he can't help it, every drawing you've done deserves a reaction that fits how well you did it.

after he finds out about your habit, he starts striking poses for you and holding them right until your last pencil stroke on paper (or until he gets bored/hungry lol)

one night, you get a frantic knock on your door followed by Luffy's muffled voice yelling "are you still awake? I wanna show you something." so you open the door and he shoves a crumpled piece of paper right in your face.

you back up just a little bit and adjust your eyes, and you see a drawing of... some sort of animal? oh, wait nevermind, it's of you.

it's not the most artistically or anatomically sound drawing you've laid your eyes on, but it's... surprisingly detailed. he's drawn on pretty much every single visible scar, mole, freckle and mark, even some that you didn't know you had.

when you question how he managed to be so accurate, he tilts his head, pursing his lips and farrowing his brows in thought before answering. "Well, it wasn't on purpose, but I always look at you when you're around me. you catch my attention, kinda like food does!"

pause.

did Monkey D. Luffy, the strawhat captain, mister gum gum himself, just compare you to food...? moment of silence, because this is so much bigger than all of us.

after hearing this revelation, you cave and plant a quick kiss on his cheek as a thank you (and as a means to let him know of your more than platonic feelings for him), slamming the door in his face before he even has the chance to react.

p.s. Luffy doesn't have any idea why you kissed his cheek, but he knows that it made him feel good, and he wants to get one from you again.

Guys I’ve been so busy this weekend but it’s finally my turn to make a long sappy fable thank you post :D

I’m not always the best with words, and I said a lot of this in the fan appreciation video already, but I wanted to put it all here too.

I first started watching fable smp in (I think)November of 2021, cause I found Sherbert and Heyhay through DSMP tiktok compilations on youtube, and saw they both streamed. Fable is the first time I’ve actually been part of a fandom community, and it’s one of the best things that has ever happened to me. My whole experience with the community has been so incredible, everyone is so kind and creative and excited about the story being told. I met people through fable who are now some of my best friends on earth, and even got to meet up with one of them irl! I never imagined an online friend group was something I could have but those people, and the wider fable community, helped get me through some of the worst times mentally that I’ve had in my life. 

Fable as a story is so incredible, I can’t even put into words all of the specific pieces that make it so amazing, but all of the characters, relationships, stories, side plots, and just silly hanging out in character streams are something I love so much. I’m having a hard time writing this rn cause I don’t want to leave out anything important but I don’t know how to say any of it.

One of the biggest things fable smp has done for me is giving me something to fuel my art. Before fable started, I was just starting to experiment with digital art, but had a ton of art block and no motivation to draw much anymore. Fable gave me a constant source of ideas for my art, and the responses I got when I posted my art(for the first time ever) helped so much in keeping that motivation. Having fans and cast members tell my how much they loved my art was incredible, and it eventually gave me the confidence to open up art commissions, which I had never thought was something I’d be able to do. My art was actually how I met my now friends, we started talking because we all loved eachother’s art, and it’s so wonderful to have a bunch of artist friends I can ask for advice, show wips, and just hang out on call while drawing with. Whenever I draw I almost always have a fable vod playing, there are so many comfort vods that no matter how long I draw for, I’ll never run out. 

I know other people have said this, but I want to say it for me too, just because fable is over doesn’t mean I’m gonna shut up about it :D. I have so many art ideas I haven’t done yet, and so many thoughts and feelings about this story that aren’t going away anytime soon. I’m gonna keep brainrotting about these characters for as long as my brain allows me to, and even after that I’ll look back on this story and community so so fondly. This is a story and fandom that I think I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life, and I thank you all for that.

There is a lot of other things I could say right now, but words are hard and I’ve had a very, very long weekend, so I’m gonna stop it here. I love fable smp so much, and I can’t wait to see what stories you all tell next <3

So I just finished the Remake. Absolutely loved it; I always felt the original VN was far too edgy and callous with its writing and too ambitious for its budget, and both of these problems were almost completely resolved with the budget. That said, I do have a lore-related question. (1/2 since Tumblr is being a little fucky rn)

That's the cool part; he actually does! It's just that Shiki's reaction to Arcueid (and Akiha) differs greatly from Vlov.

Shiki's Nanaya instincts push him to kill Arcueid by surprise as it's the only way he could ever take on a being on her level, while with Vlov (who attacks Shiki and Arcueid first at the hotel), it looks like Shiki's mind recalculates for a different monster that knows he is there and is armed, even if the monster doesn't quite know what threat he poses just yet. It appears to be a state that is much more stable, as Shiki's normal personality sometimes resurfaces like when he has to talk to Arcueid, but the way his internal monologue changes and how cruel and calculating he becomes makes it no doubt this is also his Nanaya instincts.

You can first see it when Shiki is attacked by the fire dogs at the hotel. He panics in fear and kills on survival reflex, but when Vlov himself arrives at the floor, Shiki SHOULD be running for Arcueid, but instead readies his knife and begins focusing on Vlov's lines despite the plan being for Arcueid to take on the vampire herself.

You then see it in full swing during the fight with Vlov at the park in the Arcueid route. As Shiki rushes into the pit, his narration begins to change. He starts counting more and more variables: the time he can last inside Vlov's blizzard before he freezes to death, the distance between him and Vlov, the number of projectiles Vlov is able to create and how many he can cut out of the air if he just thinks of the projectiles as "prey", all these sorts of thoughts that are unthinkable to Shiki the normal highschool boy.

And even as Shiki's narration says how it's clear this fight is impossible and a vampire on Vlov's level is more of a natural disaster for humans to avoid rather than fight, a glimpse of Shiki's reflection in Vlov's ice shows him grinning. He's enjoying the opportunity to finally let loose his repressed instincts on an acceptable, impossible target. He loves that his blood is freezing over and the countdown in his head keeps ticking down, his normal self is so freaked out at the idea of dying here that he almost completely disassociates. It's only when he sees Arcueid take an icicle to the face, shrug it off, and throw a massive boulder back that his ordinary self resurfaces (his incredulity at Arcueid's durability snaps him out of it) and he asks Arcueid for help.

And even then, after he and Arcueid fight together, he slips back into his calculating self. He thinks about how this move will leave him paralyzed for the rest of his life, but he doesn't care as he is not human, but a killing machine whose only objective is his target. He quickly identifies the two possible points in his move that could go wrong, as well as the number of seconds it would take for Vlov to react. When he sees Vlov attempt to draw a sword in the latter's desperation to survive, all Shiki can think about is how much he hates Vlov as a rival murderer.

You know, incredibly normal thoughts by incredibly normal boys.

collection of old star trek au drawings that still fit my ideas sdfhlk. the headshots are about a year old at this point i was trying to do everyone,, got tired of that. pretty quick. The full bodies were take two but got even less far from august this year, i have little patience for line ups.

i want to make something sort of comprehensive at some point but idk if ill ever get to that so im just going to ramble ramble about the ones i did end up drawing:

Bdubs: he's an el-aurian, which means he is an empath. whos going to live forever. he's on the engineering team, but much to his chagrin he is mostly used as a rubber duck rather than for his incredible engineering talent. i mean i do think he's a good engineer but i think he's an even better guy to just talk at. Which is why I chose el-aurian as his species they're described as a 'listener' species (lore .) who have a deep contention with time. which just screamed bbubs to me.

Cub: I just think he would make a really funny Vulcan. Sorry I havent thought in depth about this one. It was mostly inspired by his like, his usually very consistent way of speaking, just the way he inflects feels like he could be a Vulcan. if they were from Chicago i guess. Science division ofc.

Doc: in my mind he is the perfect Orion. He's green pack it up. But also orions are usually used as like, stock mafia pirate insert villains and star trek, so it like doubly fits his vibe to me. He's something along the lines of a disgraced orion mad scientist who's found a second chance in the federation. He's the hermitcrafts current science officer.

Hypno: i think I've settled on him being a betazoid just for the hypnosis psychic powers sort of bit. He's on the security team and I think he works with Xb and Keralis to smuggle goods on the ship for fun. This is a very important role in star trek trust me.

Wels: I don't have a whole lot on him rn but he has such bajoran vibes to me. He's also on security.

Cleo: Borg are basically like zombies so Cleo as an formerly assimilated Borg just made sense to me. They're the ships chief medical officer. To me Cleo is like in the center of a triangle with Beverly Bones and Bashir at each point so it just fit in my mind. I think her backstory would be somewhat similar to seven of nines, getting assimilated young but instead of being thrown right into the horrors of voyager like seven she got to like, chill a little bit after being unassimilated.

Joe: Joe is a joined trill but he's the first host of the Hills symbiont. So e's still just like that it doesn't have anything to do with the worm. I've considered making him the ships counselor, to go in line with the star trek tradition of ship counselors who maybe should have a different job, but I'm not sure about it.

Tango: Tangos a catboy. I mean caitian. He's the chief engineer. I also don't have much else beyond that for him yet.

Impulse: he's impulse :) hes like impulse. but in space . He's another engineer. i haven't worked out much else,

So, in this world, a majority of the population do. Not. Have powers, having them is seen as a blessing, But… It's a dystopian themed world—where these powers are incredibly monitored and regulated by the government—with some being minor, and some being full on changes to the physical body and how they manifest. (ie. My excuse for drawing anthros… or kemonomimi… shushhhh/also allows me to just dump all of my ocs which you may have seen before, in one little world and play with them like they’re my puppets :( I love them sm!! One of them sora is from DND they hold a special place in my heart...)

But again, having these powers is seen as a blessing from a God of some sort—and a curse, as while they’re regulated by the national government heavily, some individuals still manage to slip by, or cause harm to the general public, so from this, they (the gov) took advantage of this to instill a system of ‘heroes’ and ‘villains’ there’s a few ‘vigilantes’ but most either become heroes (through turning themselves in and doing plenty of community service work, and discussing a contract with some government representatives—most who become heroes are never the same. They always have a look in their eyes, as if valor to help their nation has blinded them), but some may become villains.

Heroes are those who just have a license and have signed a contract with the government—most get these contracts renewed or take a small few month break in between contract renewals. They’re unable to use their powers in these circumstances, unless it’s out of self defense. Civilians can too (those not heroes, are regulated by the government heavily, and choose not to pursue it. But it’s like US NAVAL contracts too. you can join programs in the gov that give you supplemental access and benefits to college/pay it off, etc etc etc. like the national guard but more celebritized), but they (civilians) need to find a GOOD lawyer. There’s so many laws that heroes are naturally given a smalllllll pass over, that it’s just best to run away, or be a hero in that small instance.

(This has sm mha influence. As sad as it is, that show influenced me sm. Got me into trying art. Fr fr/on digital. PLA is just where it improved a weeee bit).

OKAYYY ENOUGH AGOUT THE SET UP!! THE CHARACTERS… I’m so sorry idk why I’m rambling this much, I’m not even hyperfixated on my own OCs. Like what the fuck.

Anyways! A key note is that having bright colored hair is a key identification that you probably have powers that haven’t manifested yet, and the hair is always a bright color, unless, you’re Astor!

He’s got so much trauma *slaps roof of car.* You can fit so much trauma in this one bad boy. And despite it all he remains a good person. Dawg. You have more strength then I’d ever have. But igggg the want and need to help people because you were hurt and want to make a change does seem motivation enough… anyways. They’re so marysue coreee

The main character & a small-time vigilante going to the new school that’s just been set up. His hair only really turns those bright colors when she’s using their powers—but in the ref it’s just for convenience sake. She has so many skeletons in her closet, that they can’t risk being caught. But they love helping people too much. They’re a bit altruistic.

For ease of mind, they always have a small bit of static on their hands—both to stun new people meeting them. To make the air feel charged with thunder and electricity—a warning to her presence, and because it means their hair stays that color. No matter the charge. His eyes stay the same color though. Again. These are some old doodles from last year of some characters. Notably, that I also revamped. Heroes, villains, and vigilantes stories always hold a special place in my heart,,,

Next up is Anzu! Silly goober!!! Please give him head pats!!!! He loves it!!! This is Astor’s only… real friend. Since Astor likes his solitude. But tolerates Anzu’s silly behavior. Utter dichotomy between them!!! <333 I haven’t decided if they’d get together or nah, but! <3333

Yeah, this guy (and Astor) both have autism (I didn’t even realize that him liking trains was an autistic stereotype… oops. Mb gang. But like. Seriously. Ywah didn’t mean anything by it. I’m autistic myself and I’m possibly pursuing physics or engineering 💪💪 I think it’s alr if I project onto a character I made 🔥🔥🙏)

Yes, he’s based on the irl dinosaur. Yes, he’s autistic, hear me out. I just put lots of things together. And he just ended up with major tism 🔥🙏

And finally, a hero I designed :) I changed her a weeee bit. But she’s mostly the same sand manipulation :) villains dislike her since she puts sand in their shoes. Her big container is full of sand and stuff. She doesn’t have a weakness other then she needs to be a bit concentrated on making her sand creations—but they’re like second nature to her because of how long she’s been a hero. She’s an antagonist only because she’s trying to take Nexus in. She sees how sweet she can be to the native cats (from a distance. Never touching them, and she never knows why, they look at the native cats, longing to pet them but always stops) so she wants to take him in and make a case for him to join the government’s hero program.

Arizona! But her hero name is Sahara yk… Yeagh…. Anyways :) I love her lots. She does mean well. But she’s also blindly faithful in the government, or will see its problems and will deflect or try to be better to make things right. But she always holds rules above anything else. Even if she cares about someone who’s breaking them, a lot, so yeah… totally not talking about the mentor and mentee relationship between her and Nexus… where she pushes her morals aside just to listen to him seldom talk about his intrepid interests.

If Nexus didn’t have those powers—in her opinion—she would’ve made an excellent leader in whatever field he’d want to pursue. And she knows he’s got something up with them—some history. And that breaks her heart a little seeing how much pure joy Nexus gets at being able to try new things, like new foods, or try out purely common things that should be normal to a kid like herself.

i'm so sorry this took so long but!! i had no idea where to start lmao

i spend so much time just thinking about L in any capacity,, i mean it, he occupies a scary amount of my waking thoughts (blame the autism)

so for starters, as much as i shit on wammy's and its terrible negligence, i find myself putting L & the successors into little found family scenarios & i often draw them all together

(eg. here's some older sketches of L & the kids)

now i know that canonically they probably (definitely) weren't like this but,, i want them all to be loved

i can understand why/how other people would have a different interpretation of their dynamic, but portraying L as a mentor/brother/father figure is very near & dear to my heart :'))

(this is also partly projection as i'm an eldest son who loves their sibling & wants the best for them, who also deeply relates to L so do with that what you will haha)

most of my wammy family art is for comfort! and maybe it can comfort other people too :')))

maybe one day i'll come back & explain the extent of my hcs about this dynamic but i'm not confident in my ability to like. word my thoughts coherently yet so !! for now u get art & some surface level stuff :)

but anyways, sometimes i question what being at the centre of a program like that must feel like. i try not to overanalyse L's backstory and dictate what he must have thought because i know that he's a complicated character and a lot of his morality/actions are up for debate but like,,,

having your guardians look for a replacement for you while you're still alive? that's like saying 'we're just waiting for you to die/mess up/become useless to us and then when that happens, we can instantly replace you with a new & improved version'

even if they were trying to do a classic 'heir' system where a person inherits L's position and this wasn't meant to send that kind of message,, the environment that was produced is still incredibly toxic. that still isn't good. they used children. malleable, vulnerable orphans. that's no coincidence.

and idk that's a little messed up to me.

i don't really know how else to word my thoughts on this situation rn? i just acknowledge that that's no way to treat a person and move on bc,, what else can i say? :'/ it's a terrible situation for everybody involved and watari (& roger) are fucked up for creating a cycle of abuse and putting L right in the centre of it.

and a prime example of how damaging this system was is B. he wasn't born hateful and vindictive and violent, something made him that way. we are all products of our environments, and his was inhumane by definition.

and reminding u that this is my interpretation and you're free to disagree! we all read into characters & their relationships differently

As they create more of a world for their ocs to live in, maybe there are characters that mirror the others as well? I totally ran away with this concept! cat matt? cat Tom? What the hell!!! They’re all cat girls. And better yet! In the context of how the ocs are created, the way the characters are written by edd (since Tord wouldn’t have met Matt or Tom yet considering theyre only online friends at this point) would reflect Edd’s insight into how he perceives the others. THROUGH CAT GIRL OCS…. My brain.. explosions rn

God I have made this extensive cat girl universe so much more complicated than it needs to be! I just?? this is what happens when my brain bounces these kinds of ideas around for long enough. I have so much extensive pond au lore that I never plan on putting in the comic. I just do this for fun !

ah okok i have no idea how to ask this so i’m really sorry it’s disorganized…may i ask how u start commissions? or any tips on how to start commissions? i’m thinking of starting them soon but…i have no idea how :’)

The first time is always a little scary/confusing so I get it ;A; ;;;;; I've been doing commissions for 2 years now but I still feel as though I'm still a beginner and unprofessional ;;;;;;;;

The first step is of course to determine what sorts of drawings will you sell and your price sheet (I spent a lot of time on this step, don't worry) for reference I looked up commission price sheets from other artists like what's the average amount they charge for a full rendered drawing? And for a sketch? There are many options as well to consider when it comes to the drawing process, like sketch only, sketch with color, line only, line with flat colors, line with full rendered colors etc... Tbh I'd recommend not presenting too many options since it can get confusing/overwhelming quickly not only for you but for your future clients as well, like whenever people see a commission sheet that's too cluttered with options and prices they tend to get indecisive and overwhelmed and that might drive them off from commissioning you 😅

So one way to attract people to commission you is to make an easy to understand and clean commission sheet price! Make sure to add examples of the kind of drawings that you can do and make the prices legible!!!

Many people organize their sheets with the bust/half-body/full body (rendered and sketched) thing and it works pretty well so I'd start there! I started with this scheme and there's no complaints from me, it's easy to remember and there's also a high demand for these!

Now to determine the prices is one of the hardest things since it varies incredibly from artist to artist 💦Because obviously you should not make your prices way too low and devalue your own work, but also a lot of young commissioners make the mistake of overpricing their works when they only just recently begun making art or/and still need a lot of (years worth of) practice💦

I'd say if you're still not so confident about your own art and you have the conscience that you need yet to improve, you can start with low prices as a test and then gradually raise the prices as you get used to it and already have a decent clientele. However if you're somewhat confident and already have a decent amount of followers, you can ask your followers/friends for suggestions and their opinions, such as ''if you were to buy a full body commission from me how much are you willing to pay it'' ...Obviously you shouldn't just blindly do as people tell you since there's unfortunately some people that will try to take advantage of this, and although it's important to hear suggestions only you can determine what your prices will be!

And finally and most important ALWAYS ASK FOR UP-FRONT PAYMENT, if someone is like ''I don't have the money rn, can I deposit the payment later 🥺'' don't agree to it, don't make the same mistake that I did once :')))) unless the person is a highly trusted friend/mutual, start the art only after you receive the payment so there won't be any risks 💦💦

Wasteland au thing? Also OCs

So this is an idea my brain cooked up at like 1 this morning. Basically this is a look at a group of characters living in the wasteland during the golden age of Hallownest.

Gomer: He’s a common cockroach who got a little(a lot) too popular in his home kingdom and was publicly beheaded by his political rivals. Except it didn’t exactly take, you see all of the adoration and belief from his fans elevated him into a higher being. I’d say he’s basically the equivalent of one of the great knights, but he’s physically much weaker and also missing his head. Despite being a higher being getting beheaded is still going to kill him eventually so he fled into the wastes(carrying his head) to search for a solution to his problem. He’s super charismatic and is a fantastic conman, although his pride and ego is what got him in his situation in the first place.

#9: She’s a worker ant who defected from her colony, specifically she’s a marauder ant supermajor. She fled her colony during active combat with a nearby fire ant colon. She’s extremely good at cartography, making maps at least on par with Little Ghost. Her mapping skills are the reason our little group hasn’t been killed yet. She’s slowly working her way out of the colony mindset that she’s expendable. She hasn’t picked a name for herself yet. Nominally the protagonist should I ever decide to make this into a fanfic.

Smiles: An extremely grumpy desert scorpion who nonetheless is loved a ton by their very, very large family. Joins our group after #9 helps them find their little brother who had wandered dangerously close to the border of a Wyrms territory. Per scorpion traditions a life is owed for a life and Smiles doesn’t mind tagging along nearly as much as they seem to. They’re fond of complaining but never actually mean anything by it. Smiles isn’t their real name, but a nickname that they use in place of it to prevent it from being stolen-there’s a superstition in the wastes that hiding your true name makes it harder for the Wyrm-Winds to strip your identity away.

Heleden: A spiky isopod(please look them up they’re adorable 😭😭) and by far the most lost out of any of our group members. She originally hails from the dense costal jungles far, far outside of the reach of the wastes. How she got there is a mystery to everyone including her. She’s got some memory issues, although if they’re a symptom of the wastes or merely her personality isn’t clear. She can secrete a highly deadly toxin in small amounts. The wastes are incredibly dry and being an isopod she needs a lot of moisture, so she wears layers and layers of soaked cloth to keep her from drying out. Even still running out of water is an issue. She’s a very powerful magic user, although there are some indications that she’s drawing her magic from a god she doesn’t consciously remember. She’s bright yellow/orange.

Alright so that’s it for the members of our little caravan, but there’s some other characters I’ve got mentally made rn

Golmagor: Supposedly killed a Wyrm in his youth, he’s an old bug now but no less fearful of a warlord. His primary weapon is a nail, a nail which looks suspiciously like the burrowing tooth of a Wyrm- it’s made from a blue-purple metal which no-bug has been able to identify. The blade constantly leaks water and is a large part of why he’s so successful as a warlord. By the time our group meets him his son(who’s name I’ve not thought out yet) is vying for control of his territories but hasn’t yet reached the town from which Golmagor controls his forces. He captures our crew and threatens to keep them as slaves unless they capture his son for him. He’s a Brazilian wandering spider, and a master of water and poison sorceries.

The Heirarch: The apostle of the long dead(??) god of lifeblood. Saves our crew after an incredibly deadly battle. Seems peaceful but likely has ulterior motives. Their species is unknown but he doesn’t seem to have an outer shell of any sort. May not be a bug at all. Wears a mask with five eyeholes that seems almost liquid. The only feature of theirs which is obvious through all of the elaborate blue robes they wear is their three pairs of arms.

Squidge: A blue death feigning beetle, she’s a merchant passing through the waste with her caravan. She herself is a native to the wastes and was born there. Bears a charm of an unknown make and function. She trades water she collected for charms, weapons, foreign currencies, or anything her caravan is currently lacking in. Her caravan manages to avoid being devoured by Wyrms despite traveling through their territories by collecting Wyrm pheromones from fresh Wyrmfalls-I headcanon that the (actual)death of a Wyrm acts as a sort of whale fall in the wastes, entire towns have sprung up in the long dead corpses of ancient Wyrms) and using them to scare off larger predatory bugs and gods.

Husk: A bug bearing a strange pale mask and terror-black chitin. They’re oddly sociable and tower over many other bugs they come across(Somewhere between THK and Hornet in size). They have a limp in one leg and horns covered in hundreds of small curved thorns. Their initial flaw was joviality and a desire to help others. The wastes haven’t dulled their good nature and they’re always willing to help out weary travelers by sheltering them until they’re ready to move on. Lives in an elaborate burrow system they dug for themselves, it’s roughly equal in size to the crossroads. Lives with their sibling Pebble, though no-one has met them…

Assorted other ideas I had for this AU/story

Masks are an absolute must in the wastes, they prevent the whispers that dead Wyrms leave behind on the winds from stripping the soul, mind, and moisture from a bug in moments.

Everyone in the wastes knows that if you see carnival tents on the horizon, smell fire without an obvious source, or hear carnival music, you turn around immediately and find another path to your destination.

There are many secret/hidden towns and kingdoms far below the surface of the wastes, finding your way into them is difficult but doable if you really need to, just be ready to deal with a higher being or worst case scenario a god

Hallownest is directly in the middle of the wastes and is perhaps the best known kingdom in the wastes for both its riches and hospitality. Although some say it’s ruled by a wyrm, these are widely considered false claims, afterall Wyrms are fiercely territorial and unlikely to rule as anything but a tyrant.

Warlords are a real problem in the wastes and often fight for control of good trade routes or sources of water.

Water is a very, very rare commodity in the wastes, on par with food, gold, and Wyrm metal.

There are some species of bug native to the wastes, they tend to be colored to blend in with the fossil stones and well adapted to survive surprise dust storms.

Cave bugs are also more prevalent on the surface here than elsewhere because the constant whipping of the winds blocks out any ambient lights(plus it seems like something happened to the sun locally…)

Theres a flea circus that periodically travels through the wastes led by a higher being. Yes they do hate Grimm for giving circuses a bad rap, they just want to make people smile. In fact their patron might be the god of joy or some related concept.

5. Anything you haven’t drawn yet but want to?

Ugh yes like 800000 things Im literally dying. A lot of them are like more elaborate ideas that I want to wait until I have more skill to try to execute them, even though trying to do things you don’t yet have the skill for is literally how you improve but whatever. other than wips Im working on rn I wanted to do all the og crows bc I have some design ideas for all of them but I wanted to check first on some things I’ll do that later. The pipe dream I have is to one day do like an animatic to a song or whatever. Cringe I know but it’s ok. Not even like a full song maybe 30-60 seconds? I might attempt it this summer I’ll have time then.

this is not only the nicest thing anyone has ever said abt my work, but also possibly the nicest compliment anyone has ever paid to someone else’s art, in history. nicer than what that guy said in the dr who vincent van gogh episode. it was a while ago and over some drawings I didn’t even like that much but it was so nice :,)

20. What works have you drawn fanart of?

Im going to answer this for since I started doing digital art regularly in 2021 because before then I was exclusively into incredibly embarrassing things. Not counting the OCs of people I personally know as fan art Ive done wolf 359, witch hat atelier, jason bourne franchise I guess (drew him literally 1 time lol), ace attorney, star trek ds9, wings of fire (I drew a generic icewing once because I had art block), the owl house, teppu, our fair city (these drawings will never see the light of day lol), the new albion radio hour, monster high, moon knight (2016 comics not the show), revolutionary girl utena, the movie encanto, tf2, nichijou, mob psycho 100, and paranatural. which is way way way more things than I thought there would be. this is over the course of 2.5 years to be fair and most of these have only 1 or 2 drawings to their name. The vast majority of what I draw these days is OCs for sure.

i auditioned for my school’s musical and i finally got a speaking part and im also technically a lead and that rly cool but it also means im going to have to stay at school for twelve hours almost every day until the second week of march when the play ends

im in my school’s honor choir and its a zero hour so i have to wake up at unheavenly times to get there and sing for two and a half hours

i get to be in a rly big state choir too and thats coming up in february and i havent looked at the music yet and i cant get the remind to work and all the emails are so long-winded and badly-formatted and confusing

and my english class is nearly full of students so thats fun and my school has zero, count em, Z E R O good senior english teachers but im pretty sure i have the better of two devils and i had her last semester so i know her and she knows me but i also know the kinda bs shes gonna throw at us and i just have to hope that she wasnt lying when she said that this semester would be easier because we’re not working on senior papers this time (mine was about mental health in schools not that anyone asked lolll)

i also have the same government teacher as last semester which is both a blessing and a curse because i know what to expect but like none of it is good and he makes us do these stupid unnecessary tiny group projects and why tf cant i just work alone i only know one person in the class and his lectures are so pointless and please just let me take all the tests and be done with this heaven-forsaken class already

then im in studio art which is basically the highest level art class at my school and you have to get permission from an art teacher to be in one of their hours then you work on one huge independent project the whole semester and my art teacher knows i draw on my ipad and said i could make a comic so now i have to figure out what its about then i can hopefully start the ball rolling from there but i have too many ideas and not enough at the same time and none of them are developed enough to make a 22-page, fully edited-and-colored comic

and my choir director is so incredibly passive aggressive but not really on purpose, he just knows he has a rbf and so he overcompensates to make himself more friendly but then when his patience runs thin he yells and i wanna cry and die and quit high school and cry some more

and im trying so hard not to stress over college because i know im gonna take a gap year so i can think about it then but two of my sisters have offered their homes to me and i love them both so much and ive been thinking about just getting an apartment and a roommate but i have to tell them that because one of them is going to renovate their basement with my potential living there in mind and then i end up stressing about college anyways like what major and what minor and what school and what even is my endgoal???? i dont know?!?!??!?!! i dont know what i want to do with my life, not specifically! my biggest dream rn is to be an mc streamer and thats just cuz im back in my mcyt phase and the old pipe dream from my childhood has returned but i know it cant actually work out btu the dreamer in me says it can but i know it realistically has like a .000002% chance of actually happening

I saw a tiktok of someone drawing Diluc as Flynn Ryder from Tangled earlier today and ‘at last I see the light’ was playing over it, and I,,, it sounded so much like Diluc?? Idk but I wanna make a Tangled AU for the man now I––

warnign mild spoilers for Diluc’s past + the manga

Like like like,,,, Just some rough ideas, but maybe this takes place after his dad dies n before he comes back to the winery, so he’s on like his full vigilante mode rn right. And like,,, what if the reader is like some sort of monarch from Fontaine or smthn that’s set to be married to someone they don’t know around the time of their next birthday, and they’re scared because all their life they’ve never seen much outside their prim and proper family estate, and they know that after being married off, all that awaits them is another set of closed doors. So they’re desperate to get out for even a little while, right?

So when a certain vigilante comes into their estate one night, looking for a member of the Fatui that the reader’s family had been housing as a guest, the reader somehow unarms and subdues him (maybe with the element of surprise + their own vision idk) and they take Diluc’s Delusion from him. The reader makes a deal with Diluc for him to bring them,,, somewhere (idk where yet Im still undecided, but I’m leaning to either the Moonchase / Lantern Rite festival of Liyue) before their birthday, because they’ve heard stories of how beautiful the place gets from their house help that originated from Liyue, and to bring them back home before their parents return from a business trip to Sumeru or smthn, they’ll return his Delusion. So obvs queue the travelling montage + some other stuff, and they fall for each other along the way. (but I wanna add that the reader doesn’t find out that Diluc is Diluc Ragnvindr. They just think he’s some rando lmao)

I don’t want this to have as much drama as the actual movie lmao bc I’m not good at that, so instead, the two of them realize their feelings at the Liyue festival, n they kiss n maybe fuck idk we’ll see kajsndskja But at the end of the day, they both know that what they have going on can’t last bc of both of their situations, so there’s that sorta quiet acceptance, and making the most out of their time together before Diluc returns the reader back home and the reader gives him his delusion back.

When he does bring him home safely (thankfully before their parents arrive home–– I like to think that the house help love the reader, and were super supportive of Diluc bringing them out aksjdjs) they share a goodbye kiss at the reader’s window, the reader gives him his Delusion, and they part ways.

kjsnda OKAY so skip a bit forward until it’s the day before the reader’s birthday (btw, just wanna mention that the reader n Luc are of the same age here akjsdsa) and they’re gearing up to meet their future spouse, right. The reader’s got some sort of memorabilia that Diluc got for them when they were in Liyue on their person or in their hand, and the reader was wishing that the person they could be with was the dashing, sorta socialy awkward vigilante that gave them the most memorable few days of their life. 

So the reader is getting prepped for their future spouse to come in, right, when one of their parents comes into the room, hair frazzled and eyes wide with shock bc guess who just sent a message expressing his interest in the reader, and his desire to have the reader’s hand in marriage instead? No shit, it’s mf Diluc Ragnvindr, uncrowned king of Mondstadt, one of the richest men in Teyvat, incredibly influential even in Fontaine, runs one of the most profitable businesses anywhere, and he’s asking you to marry him.

Dream trip: huh whuh anywhere abroad because due to political status quo i cannot leave the country and probably wouldn’t be able to for some time. so my record of 20 countries has ceased for now. but if i imagine the better future i’d certainly visit Vienna again, it’s a miracle, and after that i’d visit my European friends.

Something I want: i dream to do nothing but art, to make a living from art. no idea how to achieve that yet. also i’d like to work on important stuff much more than rn and for my mental health to allow me to do that.

Currently reading: Corrections by Jonathan Franzen. he actually uses impersonal sentences so i was like 🤔 so i can use them too? i was refraining from them in my english writing because to my knowledge every english sentence has to have a predicate. but if Mr.Franzen uses these, why can’t i?

Last series: oh i watched that The Bear series, started because it was all over my tumblr dash. INCREDIBLE, just great, especially that elliptical plot composition where all the things that the character ignored in the beginning come back to ensure his salvation/reawakening in the end. and yeah ofc Jeremy Allen White 🤤

Last movie: The Third Murder by Hirokazu Kore-eda. i started with his Shoplifters (those who read my WIP fic know why) and the director’s style was love at first sight so i resumed learning his filmography.

Sweet/spicy/savory: savory, but actually whatever, i wish eating didn’t exist

Currently working on: well yeah my infant son Disintegration, a Tokyo Revengers fanfic, that’s it for now. it gives me great pleasure, especially since i take my time trying different patterns of episode build-up/scene size/chapter composition, though the most interesting episodes to write are only about to come. like, my favorite scene is planned for chapter 8 in the first draft. i’m mad & sad that it takes more than a week to make a chapter, but well, the trick is that i rewrite every scene three times in order have it solid, so if achieving faster pace means sacrificing some quality - no can do, my perfectionism holds me hostage

Like to think that alongside Volt, Mylene and Lync were also recruited by Hydron

None of them officially joined until they were a bit older but probably trained to eventually join the Vexos; in the mean time they probably worked for Hydron or something like that

Volt recruited at 11; Lync a year later and Mylene following not long after (respectively 13, 8, 12 when they’re all gathered)

My reasoning to why Volt is patient with Lync’s antics and Mylene less so but doesn’t lash out as badly as you think she would around annoying little kids; grew up tgt moment

Spectra probably forced his way into the Vexos like “hiiii i see you dont have any Vexos members <3″ bcs obv he wasn’t using royal scientist dad privelages (i think, bcs Clay seems horrified abt Spectra being a Vexos and well, being Spectra) 

Shadow had an advantage of being a nobleman (in terms of him being accepted into the Vexos’ ranks)

the Vexos and their set of rules magent-ed on the fridge door or something and every time they go over a page they have to staple/tape a new page on

Joined in this order, Volt, Spectra, Shadow, Mylene, Lync, Gus 

Vexos being a “chance of death low but the chance is still there” type of job... they feel like idols girl help they are bakugan idol group who work for the government

Spectra Phantom / Keith Fermin

think it’d be REALLY funny if he already knew Shadow before he became Spectra, Shadow just doesn’t recognize him bcs of his stupid get up

throws childhood friends Shadow Spectra at you, just two weirdos 

Keith specifically keeps Shadow from ever meeting his sister which is why neither of them really recognize each other

Pre-Spectra; probably would’ve been really into bakugan biology and what not. Feels like the kind of person to talk w/ his dad about “do you think we could change their appearance if we messed w/ their mechanical ball form or would it not carry over to their released forms”

mom isn’t dead she just divorced Clay bcs he didn’t know how to balance family and work, good for her

probably lives in another city now, and it’s a bit more of a hassle to meet with her kids so they don’t see her as much but she is present in their lives (keep in contact in other ways)

Just Some Gut background; middle class just living life

[canon?] was going on a route to being an “idol brawler”, because that’s kind of what their brawls felt like, since it was all purely for show with some competition. it felt less like a sport and more spectacle.

Gus wanting to be an idol brawler is actually such a funny string of words put together I’m making that a thing, if he didn’t join the Vexos he would’ve been an idol brawler

I like the Gus needs glasses hc (shoutout to @marmeladebois ‘s post on that) 

The hc of him being half human and Runo’s half brother is so good 

Cooks well but refuses to help cook fr the Vexos (unless Spectra specifically asks) --> that job is usually left to Volt

not related but reminds me heavily of yugioh vrain’s Spectre (or other way around... Gus was the blueprint) 

Shadow Prove

has an older brother (oc; Lux- casual Haos brawler)

inferiority complex or whatever, the only thing he bested his brother in was Bakugan

the Prove family being typical prim proper noble family and forcing Shadow to be repressed is something, but the Proves having the same kind of wavelength as Shadow but in different variations is funnier. They’re just Like That.

Probably not a military family, does work closely with the government still; um im thinking somewhere under the Fermins but not by much

Considered running away from home several times

Mylene Ferrow

While I like the idea of her being from a military family, I want to make her like Ling Wen (TGCF) in the sense she started from the bottom and climbed to the top... it fits her ambitious nature of grasping for more, she hasn’t reached what she considers the top just yet... 

[very Ling Wen specific but Mylene being put in jail fr crimes unknown to me and being recruited  by Hydron bcs she kicked serious ass is an entertaining thought] 

I like to think she’s closest to Shadow due to the fact he kind of forces his presence onto her so... not her choice in that matter. “annoying” to “endearingly annoying, you still aren’t getting special treatment though”

Ofc Volt and Lync are on the same level, but I think they all know when to give each other space so they’re more of a “we hold each other at a distance, but we’re aware of out closeness which is enough for us”

Then its Spectra and then Gus in the “closest to Mylene” scale; she just straight up hates Gus and it’s mutual

whoever made the “Mylene and Spectra were exes” hc I think it’s really funny so I’m adding it here 

terrible fashion, she’s the one who chose the outfits when she and Shadow went to earth; her fashionable armor look she usually has was designed with Volt’s help, she just voiced what she generally wanted 

Her red lipstick look was bcs she thought it’d make her look more serious/ intimidating (Volt and Lync approved, it rlly does work on her)

Shadow matches w/ her (via his red nails) after they get teamed up tgt several times bcs he thinks they’re basically the go-to duo matchup whenever they’re assigned work n it’d be cool

Very forthcoming about the fact she used to be considered a criminal and was from same rundown area Volt and Lync come from

She’s grateful she got out of jail but she still has no respect for Hydron and despite how much she tries to hide it she does make it pretty clear to him she doesn’t really like him

I wish I had more to say about her... but It’s all relationship esque, i think in general she’s enjoyable and good so what I want more out of her is character dynamics
