sometimes spite is a powerful motivator and today its motivating me to crochet

long story short I saw a cool bag on pinterest while I was looking for crochet patterns but there was no fucking pattern but one of my friends found a pattern for a similar but not quite bag so I watched an hour long video, transcribed it into text, and am now gonna make a wholeass backpack just because Sunflower Vibe

hi all!! first of all i wanted to give huge thanks to everyone who helped me and my family, whether it be through comms or donations! it means so, so much to all of us!! secondly, unfortunately we still are in urgent need of help: my mom got a terrible job that barely gives any payment as she's still looking for better jobs, and we're still full of debts while we're also trying to sustain food for both us and the animals we rescued from terrible conditions (such as chickens). this was my first post about it if you want to check it out, i'm willing to explain our situation better if needed!

#the man who laughs #l'homme qui rit #gwynplaine #dea #artwork #the idea for this came originally from my beloved friend harker watching the film and thinking that gwynplaine was nonverbal at first #ever since fae mentioned that my brain has been Going at Very High Speads. i am so firmly on the gwynplaine speech loss train forever #the signs i drew arent based on real tactile sign language by the way i researched it briefly but figured that gwyn and dea would be making #up their own so i didnt want it to be too reminiscent of the actual language. if that makes sense #i dont imagine they have a particularly broad vocabulary i think they just have signs for the most important words (yes no i love you etc.)#i like to think about it :D harker wrote a wonderful fic about the concept it's on ao3 if anyone is interested #i would link it here but i am not sure if tumblr still nukes posts with links in them so i am playing it safe #i hope you are all well my friends :D it is finally feeling like summer here after 48739 years of rain which is nice #i am too hot though. less nice
