and by playing your card right in act 3 wyll just...gets everything gortash was trying to get? wyll really is a hero saving baldur's gate from the legion of the absolute. wyll influences gortash's favourite assassin into becoming someone they can defeat the netehrbrain together. they can even become archdukes together! ...or they can turn it down and then they can go to he hells to sneak around and have adventures (like gortash and durge used to) and save karlach's life (the same life that is at risk because gortash mindlessly threw it away).

I ended up scene-picking around the timeline at pretty-much-random, whatever I thought fit the lyrics the best in the moment of blinding inspiration (lol), but now that I’ve got the basics down to paper, I think I’d more carefully choose in mostly-chronological order. That also means some would have to be cut, so I want to show them off here! :D I also drew them all from memory so if there’s inconsistencies, that’s why lol

For example this is one of the very early lyrics, but the events take place well down the timeline! I’m sure I can find a good stand in - mostly I just wanted to draw Papyrus from this scene, ugh I love him ♥ And the lyrics do fit!

Looking back to Sans for reassurance haha. I changed a few of the lyrics to be more Papyrus-specific -

Originally I had his glow coloured in purple but this was one that I actually went back to look at (because I love this scene so much hhgggg <3 <3 <3) and had to change to his natural colour - he deserves it!! He’s earned it!!

[MASTERPOST] - Ahh, thank you for the ask! Yes, this scene.. I actually saw this a bit differently! It's not about Milek fearing Geralt will leave him behind, he actually wants him to. They need to find his Pa!! I think he often feels like a burden; Jaskier knows this, but Geralt isn't aware of this yet. Milek just wants to pull his weight, especially with Jaskier. A little sneak peak to their struggles regarding this:

Gale is good. Gale cooks food. Gale shares food. Harm him and Sorn will bite your hands off.

Gale and Sorn share their curiosity, but other than that Gale is the opposite of Sorn in many ways.

Gale's repertory of knowledge piques Sorn's interest, but Gale's rich vocabulary often leaves Sorn confused due to his lack of proper education. It doesn't help that most of Gale's common sense does not make sense to Sorn.

Gale is ambitious in pursuing knowledge, a trait Sorn does not possess. He cannot comprehend what it's like to be so passionate about something, but he appreciates it, as there is no doubt Gale's expertise is second to none in his eyes.

Gale is friendly and somewhat of a people-pleaser, unlike Astarion who usually does it as a means to an end. Sorn thinks it's part of his charm, but he prefers to be an observer rather than a receiver as he finds it hard to respond. Sorn IS curious about his mother and their stories as a family though...

On a more serious note, Sorn finds it strange that Gale tends to downplay his experiences and sometimes self-deprecate, a trait Sorn thinks he partly shares with Halsin and Wyll. He also does not get why Gale cares what Mystra thinks or why he thinks he needs to proof himself to anyone, but he assumes it's because he has never had similar relationships before and so does not interfere much on it. Other than that, Sorn values his cooking as much more than just food. He recognizes it's what brings the camp together after a hard day, and the view of that is something he is willing to fight the Netherbrain for.

Overall, Sorn respects Gale as an individual and a wizard, but he's always ready to whack Gale's head (gently) when he says something stupid. He's got his back.

He would also visit Waterdeep just to get to eat that stew.

tfw when you write an entire novel with two protagonists that spent the entire plot getting closer to each other, becoming best friends and eventually both of them deciding they would rather die than allow the other to not live a long, fulfilling life, their friendship carrying most of the emotional weight of the entire plot and the emotional climax being one of them sacrificing his life so the other can live and then the other crossing literal universes to find him, a tearful smile in his face as he confesses how much he missed him. which is the scene you wanted to write and show the most because, again, this is the pay off to the slowburn you've been writing in the entire novel and what everything has been building up to since the very first chapter. and then you end the novel by having them share a smile, finally confident they'll be able to have a happy future.

but you also just gotta have one of them marry offscreen because everyone knows you can't be happy if you're not in a het marriage with kids lmao it's whatever it's okay i'm fiNE-
