Started writing a fic back in early October and had to abandon it for a while due to IRL situations. But I've started working on it again little by little, and I am so excited to eventually share it with my mutuals and followers. I hope you guys enjoy it (I am trying my best to get it done)!

TBH my only motivation anymore is thinking about my friends having a good time reading it when it's finally posted (I love all of you very much). I cannot wait for all of these ideas to be fleshed-out on paper at last.

Over 16,000 words and I am nowhere near satisfied yet. I feel like I can write WAY more. Stay tuned!

He hadn't found what he was looking for...another dead end, and Rust was slowly losing his mind. He took in a small breath, eyes flickering to the edge of the lake he sat in front of. The markings on his body were slowly beginning to tilt towards a rusty orange- his accursed codename rearing its ugly head. He took in a small breath.

Rust held out his palm.

"...Chaos... Control..." A syringe appeared in his gloved palm. He wasted no time in preparing it, and jamming it into the crook of his elbow- before teleporting the syringe away. He didn't even blink as he felt the chemical concoction worm its way through his veins, eating away at the genetic impurities.

He'd stay here for the night. It wasn't like any creature in this forest could take him- and once he was well enough...he'd head back to HQ. Or at least, that was the original idea...before he felt a strange influx in Chaos Energy- eyes snapping towards the source.

Brok had sworn off anything to do with the Aesir after that damned incident with Thor. Fucking Mjolnir. If he'd had known what kind of havoc the God of Thunder intended to wreak with that thing - at Odin's behest no less - if he had known what it would have cost him, he would have chucked the very hunk of metal he'd just to forge the damn weapon into the deepest depths of Helheim itself.

He hid it well, though perhaps less so after his split with Sindri - but the guilt stayed with him. Knowing that he had helped forge such a weapon of destruction gnawed at him. And it very well might have eaten away at him completely had it not been for Laufey and the Leviathan Axe - the one weapon to match the hammer and potentially put an end to the drunken oaf's madness. It wasn't enough to make up for his hand in the slaughter. Seldom it was. But it was a start to putting an end to the madness and making things right.

And Brok had learned to live with that, hard as it was to swallow.

This on the other hand - this was not something he was willing to entertain. Not at first anyway. Of course, when it came to any sort of "request" made by Odin, it typically didn't come with much of a choice. And Brok had been fully willing to stake his life on standing his ground this time. At least, until the name Valka was mentioned. For as much as he despised the Aesir and their corrupted ways of doing things, he knew Valka was fair and just. A fine valkyrie whom he'd crafted a good many pieces of armor for with respect- though not so many weapons. She was a good woman, always trying to do the right thing. Where she was now, he did not know. But if for no other reason than to honor her, he agreed.

And he made that fact very clear.

"This ain't no favor for the All-Fucker or his General, y'hear? I'm doin' this in honor of Lady Valka. Make sure her little loin-sprout knows how to make himself a proper set of armor to keep himself safe, just the way she woulda wanted." The dwarf barked out gruffly, eyes fixed on the young boy before him. Without much more fanfare, he abruptly turned and began waddling into his workshop, waving at Hiccup to follow.

"Well, get a move on then! You got a lot to learn and I ain't holdin' your hand for it. The forge dies and you'll be the first one fixin' it up again."

I am very glad that you actually responded and given me an actual advice since I was worried about the question I sent you.

Though besides that I have another question for you (hoorayyy)!

So, about the reading books earlier- I’m fortunately a bookworm too! It’s just that I notice I prefer reading the genre science fiction/psychological horror more than… anything else!

And while the books I am currently reading, ‘Flowers For Algernon’ and ‘I’m Thinking Of Ending Things’ (these books are seriously so wonderfully made they make want to tear my walls), DO have romantic aspects of it- it’s not really the main plot of the story..

‘Flowers For Algernon’ has amazing storytelling and is very unique- though I’m not sure if you’ve read it before but, it’s actually just the main character taking notes. Hence why there was a lot misspellings which honestly makes it a great touch if you know the context behind it.

On the other hand, ‘I’m Thinking Of Ending Things’ too shares the same uniqueness as the other, possibly even more unique if I must say so myself. Though I REALLY don’t want to make my story similar to them since I want to make it more heart warming than fucked up..

Which is why I feel like I have the need to borrow or buy at least one romantic book because, I lack of it. I mean I accidentally borrowed it one time but it was kind of disappointing.

I don’t know if its a good idea and if I should do it or not since does it really matter of the genre, or just the writing?

Still, if you have any good books that are in the romance genre. Feel free to recommend some to me!

i actually don't have any straight up romance recs - i don't actively search it out (outside of fanfic), so any romance i read just comes with whatever book i've picked up. just straight up romance bores me, unless its a fic with a pairing i actively like. and even then, i need to take breaks from it unless the romance is interspersed with an actual plot. im not a romantically-geared person! i dont have single Main Plot Is Romance book on my shelves!

but imo its really just the quality of writing that helps. ive never been in a romance, im the child of two different divorces, and yet ive been told that i write romance fairly well. go fuckin figure lmao.

so actually my advice on romance is to just like. wow idk what i do is pick apart the romances i see on tv / in writing. what makes them good together, how do they act around each other, what are their love languages, what's their dynamic, what traditional romance things do they partake in, what dont they partake in, do they have anything nontraditional, do they work and why do / they dont they - does that make their relationship more interesting or is it flat. are they a good match.

you don't have to have every answer, but ive found that at least understanding their characters / dynamics, and having them interact in a way that suits them will help your romance feel natural. dont conform to tropes or tradition, that will just make the relationship flat and unrealistic. and you can always sprinkle in little things that you like / would like, which will help ground the romance and get you into the groove

tldr with romance, i think it's better to observe real life (whether that's paying attention to couples or reading reddit threads) & analyze in-love or in-a-relationship characters instead of just reading romance novels. bc honestly, and from what i can tell, they can tend to be over the top or cookie cutter

It felt like eons waiting. But that was mainly due to Pomni continuously focusing on it. Caine said there were others, said to make herself comfortable and went on his merry way, leaving her to twiddle her thumbs, sitting in her anxiety.

The silence intensified, the feeling of being small in a place so large started to weigh on her mind, every second ticking on the clock becoming unbearable as her eye twitched at every sound it produced. For a lucid dream state, this one had to have been one of the worst she'd ever experienced. All because of a damn headset.

Trying hard to not focus on the many different sensations, she amped to distract herself by walking towards the stage and rested a hand on it. Who knows how long these "adventures" take, when anybody would actually show up, if there are others, or how long she'd continue to go against her actual reality now. Pomni didn't notice when they got back, consumed in trying to recollect anything she could about herself.

"THIS IS BULLSHIT !" swearing bloody in the backseat of a car wasn't quite how kidney thought this hold up would end, but life is chock full of surprises . especially with the emphasis on bloody . she's gripping the back of the driver's seat with one hand, gritting her teeth until it almost hurts . "we can't just walk away fucking empty handed ! we basically fucking earned that money ! we gotta go back in there and — shit !" kidney flinches with a hiss of pain through her teeth, trying to stifle it before grinding out, "god, please tell me you actually know what you're doing or didn't fucking... google how to patch up a bullet wound ?"
