what do you see as the most likely thing pete does post canon? is he involved in the family business? does he have a job outside the mafia? are he and vegas both retired?

let's assume vegas has recovered as much as he can from the shooting and that he's done whatever he needs to do to get himself and his family out from under korn's thumb. so we're talking deep post-canon.

if vegas is still in the mafia somehow — in any capacity — i have no doubt that pete will function as his right hand. (or left hand. hell, both.) he's definitely got the skill set for it, and i think he would really enjoy it! it's a perfect outlet for his brand of undying loyalty, and he gets to bestow that loyalty upon someone who is equally insane about him and who will let him beat up as many people as he wants ❤️

but i don't want that for them. i think vegas in particular deserves that soft epilogue — a chance at the life he could have had all along without his father hovering behind him. so let's imagine vegas has found something to do with his time that hits that perfect balance of high stakes and high fulfillment and very very high odds of survival. pete is very happy for him, and also the tiniest bit bereft. unlike vegas, pete needs something physical.

so pete is ambling back from the grocery store, idly wondering whether he needs to be trying to do something with all of his free time, when he stumbles upon some sort of scuffle just waiting to break out in a dank alleyway. and pete manages to spot a kid in there, far too young, definitely biting off more he can chew, definitely about to get his ass beat, and — well. pete's been itching for a fight anyway.

pete hikes up his pha khao ma and lays everyone in that alley flat, and once most everyone has scampered away with their tails between their legs, the kid stares at pete, and scowls at him, and sneers out a "didn't think i asked, old man."

here's the thing. i don't think pete has any sort of affinity or good hand with kids. he's probably the type to get walked over by most teenagers (exhibit A: macau during canon). but there's a particular category of kid that i think pete would immediately have the upper hand on; surly, prone to anger, snippy, sad underneath all of that. in short, kids who are a mini-vegas 😂

(somewhere not so far away, vegas is crouched in front of his vegetable patch, suddenly feeling very annoyed, and has no idea why 😌)

so pete smiles pleasantly, says "better work on your stance then," picks up his groceries and starts walking away — only for this kid to catch up to him and go "i guess you're good enough, so you might as well teach me."

this post is already long 😅 basically, this kid will not stop pestering pete, and pete somehow ends up training the kid on a daily basis in their backyard, and happens to unleash a lot of life advice that this kid is very desperately in need of (e.g. "knowing how to fight isn't worth anything if you don't know which fights you shouldn't pick"). and he notices some other kids peeking through the fencing watching them, so he sighs a deep sigh and tells them they might as well come in.

some of these kids remind him too much of vegas — or of himself. he finds himself wanting good things for them, wanting to help them be just a little bit happier — which is the kind of help neither he nor vegas received when they were younger.

he ends up being pretty damn good at it.

so pete is giving a bunch of kids a safe space and a healthy outlet for their anger, totally by accident. to answer your question, anon, i guess that makes him a community youth counselor 😂

vegas finds this all kind of bemusing, and is more than a little tilted that pete seems to be attracting all of the little vegases in a 30km radius, but hey! he gets to shovel his cooking into more mouths now! he's totally in denial about how much he enjoys that.

(much later, pete abruptly sits up from where he's resting his head in vegas's lap, and he exclaims, "did i accidentally start a gang???"

vegas considers this for a long moment, shrugs, goes "maybe we should have stayed in the mafia after all.")

If there was a Muppet version of Back to the Future which character would make for the funniest one to be the token human?

okay because I’m losing my MIND over this. On the one hand, it would be SO funny for Marty to be the human, on account of it would make his entire family muppets. Can you imagine. So much of the cast of these films is Marty’s blood relatives. Can you imagine Marty- human, still definitely Michael J. Fox Marty- at the McFly family dinner scene in the first movie and everyone is muppets. Can you imagine the Biff muppet being intimidating. Marty full on chucking the Tannen muppets across the room. Marty being grabbed by muppets and successfully stopped. Muppets throwing Marty in the trunk. Marty is tall for once in his life but at what cost. Think about Biff again because I can’t stop laughing.

On the OTHER hand, Doc being this mad fucking scientist in this town full of muppets and everyone thinks he’s crazy. You’ve got this one muppet, a little guy, wants to be a rockstar, and one day he approaches the mad scientist and they become best friends. Everyone thinks he’s crazy but it’s never about him being  a human in a sea of muppets, they’re just “his science is too crazy”. As this six foot some man just towers over all of them. Can you imagine Doc just practically sitting to maintain eye contact with muppet Marty. Doc falls in love with the Clara muppet and they have muppet children. No one questions this. Doc having to operate a train that was sized for muppets to get them back to the future.

They’re both such stellar options I can’t even function, thanks so much for coming <3 let me know what you think because I’m just gonna keep laughing about this.

Have never watched the original of which “A Time Called You” is adapted from, so have no idea what is the difference between the versions in terms of characterisation/portrayal, but the way Min Ju is portrayed in the Korean version breaks my heart. Her character trajectory is understandable from the POV of a highly introverted, emotionally-intense, “anxious-depressive” and socially awkward girl who is trying to make her “dreams” come true vis-a-vis her long-time crush, ignoring the fact of imminent dangers forewarned.

It is tragic yet so realistic in its depiction of a young person’s - in her case in particular but of course issues which happen across ages - distorted outlook in life. Han Jun Hee is a confident, outgoing working professional in her 30s (her brighter personality notwithstanding, the life experiences between a teen and a woman in her 30s touched by grief is unimaginably large), and the contrast between an insecure teen and her is a wide gulf.

In a sense, I assume the age difference in the characters themselves between the Taiwanese and Korean versions would be noticeable in how the tone of the characters and narrative would be set. From a fan comment, I suppose the vibes/moods and portrayals between the versions differ, which is simply natural, and I would state, desirable. No point in making an exact copy of an already fantastic existing work (which is not really achievable either).

It is actually wonderful to be given different interpretations and portrayals of the same basic premise. It just means there is more to enjoy, and perhaps a/another favourite.

Jeon Yeo Been really performed both roles brilliantly, especially in the final last episodes. Both characters are easily recognizable from each other, and my heart just breaks for Min Ju and her misguided naivety and desperation. I took a peek of the finale and expect the ending would not be tragic, but I truly hope Min Ju gets her HE. She truly does deserve the world even if she did not feel she does.

Because by the end, I am much more invested in the “love story” between Min Ju and In Gyu than Jun Hee and Si Heon. 😅😆

Edit after completing the show: I enjoyed the ending but certainly wished we got a bit more updates on what happened to the characters, especially Min Ju and In Gyu. I suppose there is always headcanons.

hello!! this one hit me with an idea IMMEDIATELY when I saw it last night, but I was too tired to write it when I saw it. luckily, I was awake enough to jot down the idea, so I didnt lose it!

I am adjusting the line slightly but it is still essentially the same line, I just adjusted a bit for character voice purposes. hope you enjoy!!

Hawkeye isn't quite sure what happens. One second he's talking to Charles, the next his vision's slowly coming back to him and he's got a face full of something soft and warm. He blinks a few times, leaning back to find what looks like an olive drab shirt in front of him, and he looks up to follow that shirt and find that Charles is the wearer. Except there's... two of him.

He blinks again. The two Charles' merge together to make one Charles, who's frowning down at him.

"There you are," He says, brow furrowing, "I had a feeling that might happen."

Hawkeye's got this feeling like his head's full of cotton. He can't really... think. It's all fuzzy and distorted. "Had a feeling about... what?" He manages to get out. He feels like he swallowed glue.

"You fainted," Charles supplies, "Straight into my arms, in fact. You know, Pierce, if you really wanted my attention so badly, you could've just asked. You didn't need to go to such extremes."

Hawkeye feels himself being helped to his feet, and suddenly becomes aware of Charles' hands locked around his arms. He gets his feet under him, manages to properly stand, though his knees feel like the jelly-like gravy that got served with last night's dinner. He sways a bit, and instinctively grabs hold of Charles to keep steady.

"Steady, Pierce," Charles murmurs, keeping a firm grip on him, "I've got you," He gives Hawkeye a moment to get his bearings, watches him carefully before he adds, "Maybe next time you'll listen to me. I told you it wasn't a good idea to give blood when it hasn't even been a week since your last donation."

Ah. Right. That would explain it. He remembers the conversation, had as he was climbing into the post-OP bed to be tapped and drained, Charles none too pleased about it. He knew, then, that Charles was right, but, well... a kid with a ruined belly needed blood, and he had the right flavour.

"You would've done the same thing." He points out.

"I have done the same thing," Charles reminds him, "That's how I knew it was a bad idea."

"You'd do it again." Hawkeye counters.

Charles gives him a thoroughly unimpressed look, before sighing. "Yes, I suppose I would," He concedes, "Still. That doesn't mean it's a good idea. It just means we're both fools." He adds.

"I know I'm a fool," Hawkeye grins, cheeky, "I'm a fool for you."

Charles looks, if possible, even more unimpressed. "You're delirious," He deadpans, "Come on, jester. Time for bed." He maneuvers one arm around Hawkeye, gets his shoulder under his so he can easily pull his arm up around his neck.

Hawkeye lets him take the lead, slotting nicely against his side and leaning most of his weight into him. "You're gonna take me to bed?" He asks, just to needle him, "Charles, how forward."

"Can it," Charles mutters, even as he adjusts the arm he's got around his waist to hold him tight, "I'm taking you to your own bloody bed, and perhaps you'll wake up civilized." He starts them towards the door, moving slowly, considerately, so that Hawkeye can keep up.

Hawkeye, of course, thanks him for it by continuing to poke the bear, "Promise to wake me with a kiss?"

"A kiss from a frog, maybe." Charles grouses, holding the door open and guiding Hawkeye through.

"Aw, Charles, that's no way to talk about yourself," Hawkeye continues, undeterred and all smiles, even as he can barely get one foot in front of the other, "I think you're a real prince."

Charles won't even look at him. "I hate you."

"The pink in your cheeks says otherwise."

"I really, really hate you."

which is not to say i created them thoughtlessly or haphazardly, quite the opposite actually! i created them very consciously around how i think my styles would address each other, cute teenage boy things, their little inside jokes, style signing when stan is depressed etc. but the fact that that resonated with you guys enough and made enough sense in my fanfictions that you don't mind that i cobbled them into the canon and actually enjoy them enough to use them!!! AAAAA!!!

in 2021 I wondered "what if each MC had their own style? or... EARRINGS...?" and at the end of 2022 I spiraled. hope you enjoy.

(I just need everyone to notice each MC has a corresponding number of beauty marks and piercings. no, multiple piercings in one section do not count shhhhh. some MCs share small similarities, can you spot them all? the little details of this brought me great joy!)

MC 1's style is playful, colourful and everything fun. MC 2's style is cool, coordinated and a little edgy. MC 3 wears barely any clothing because I gave up 🖤 and I imagine Toji coerces him into ever having any semblance of modesty 🖤 MC 4's style is soft, comfy and pastels. and MC 5, I imagine, is a bit of goth, a bit of academia, and very put together.

ps. if you made it this far, here are the MC 3 "rejects". I like him the most with no lip piercings, but I think he definitely needs them. can you believe I redrew his face 4 times and yet never gave him clothes.

pps. every MC is named "Nii Juu San (23)" in my head, EXCEPT him. HIS name is Boobina 🖤
