Bug Hunting

Heya folks, Fire here, I just moved into a new place, so apologies for the backlog with bugs. In any case, there’s a few reports that either need more clarification from the reporter’s side to resolve or a more thorough explanation from our side:

Bug 1. “Cyd Roseland” - Laundry

I was happily playing Cyd Roseland last night and sent him to Copur's Cook Off that I have in Bluewater Village. As he arrived there, I had an error with the food judging table popped up. I pressed reset and when the lot loaded it was only in build/buy mode, with live mod greyed out. I could only exit to Bluewater Village and not back to the custom subhood where Cyd lives. I had to reload him from his subhood and when I did this his traits were missing from inventory. I put it through What Cause This? and that came up with the Laundry Mod as the likely package.

This is not a bug I can address. For one, there are no error logs, so we can’t check any code. Second, the laundry mod should not be affecting any other in-game behavior other than the global BHAV’s with instances 0x029B, 0x029C (both affecting clothing) and 0x0EED. The last one is a custom global. The only thing I could think of is that another mod might be using the same instance. Please run HCDU+ to check for conflicts, if you find one, please let us know so it can be added to the manual.

Bug 2. “Crafting non-wood” - Forging On

My sims cant make anything with other materials than wood. If the sim doesn have the materials to craft something, a dialog pops up. If the sim have the materials needed, nothing happened. I turned on testingcheats, but didnt get an error log.

It sounds like you might be missing the accessory. There was a period of time where there was a filename-induced hammer accessory bug in both Forging On and Refine ‘n Shine. But this has since been resolved. Please be sure to redownload both sets and if you have a separate accessories folder, then make sure you have both hammers in there. Forging On has just been updated again with another minor bugfix (sigh, it never ends), so redownloading is recommended for everyone.

Bug 3. “Industrial Grapes Seasons“ - Grapes of Rad

The fields were fertilized (used up fertilizer and seedlings as intended) in spring and started growing but stopped at the short state, even when the season is summer. The inspect action gives the message: "The fertilized field is growing nicely". Ran the game in summer for 2 standard seasons, the fields did not change from the state with thin stalks and 3 leaves (the garden crop grapes could be harvested as intended throughout this time).

This is a bug that’s a bit more difficult to investigate. From what I can see in the code, is that the industrial fields require seasonal change and enough time. I hope to be investigating this one a bit more thoroughly later, so if you have any additional details like season length (how long did the field stay in Spring before it changed into Summer etc.) and setup (which seasons do you play with in which order?) that could help.

i thought of this on a whim last night and brainstormed in the shower this morning. diont do that by the way i was like how hard could it be and it was like a little harder than i thought it would be

the first build of abbacchios male living space was made in minecraft then upgraded to sims 4, i had to redownload the game so that's why it got a little slow. i really should just learn how to 3d model

i wanted this to go way longer and deeper but i was running out of time and energy. i also wanted to make more penis jokes but decided to keep it relatively tame

there's no real reason why abbacchio is just a blob. i thought it was cute i guess. i did have to sacrifice his lipstick though

his inconsistent hair length is on purpose. how did he go from a buzzcut to the length he has in like a little over a year. Is that possible lmk

i wanted soooo bad for illuso to have stuck around longer but i was running late. he'll be back to bother abbacchio later though you have to believe.

actually the other april fools gimmick i had in my idea was just illusoposting but i did la squadra posting last year so i decided against it

i realize now that 20 is way too late for him to have been recently recruited by bruno and about to gain his stand. he should be 19.

spent a good 2.5 hour last night trying to fix my sims game and failing. to the point i deleted it and reinstalled it. i attempted to move my mods back to the game but they aren’t being recognized i guess? idk all my saved games are gone after redownloading which isn’t normal. mods and cc won’t show up in the game but are in the file?? and game play options aren’t saving either when i restart the game. it just added to my bad mood.

Happy New Year!

hello lovelies, here I present to you a very slight reason that I have been on a large hiatus: I made a save file!

this is a project that has taken me way too long, but I'm happy I can get it out right as I hit 100 followers!

currently only willow creek, all the details and download for the save and an update will be under the cut …

A Few Requirements:

this world is cc free!

you will need a computer that can run the sims somewhat decently, as this is very sim and item heavy, with lots of decor and such

not all packs are required, but these are the ones I own: Expansion Packs- I own all EP's except Get to Work Game Packs-Dream Home Decorator, Parenthood, Strangerville, and Jungle Adventure Stuff Packs-Bowling Night Stuff, Tiny Living Stuff, Paranormal Stuff, Laundry Day Stuff, Cool Kitchen Stuff

I made this using UI cheats extension but your world will function w/o it, I just recommend it generally

The Basics:

all of the willow creek lots are brand new — this means no renovations

there are THIRTY-TWO new townies and all existing townies have been given an updated wardrobe

there are also ELEVEN pets added to this save as well

the world starts in the Fall and with aging OFF

Some Specifics:

the very left lot in Crawdad Quarter is a combination of both a museum and library—since the lot is so big—it is functional as both, so simply go into world edit and change it between museum and library

I have also added a vet clinic and a pool to Willow Creek, to make it a little easier for your sims to visit those lots

there is one unowned house in every neighborhood and each increases in price point for your sims to move into

Magnolia park now has full accommodations for weddings, including an arch and full outfitting's for caterers and mixologists, as well as toddler potties and a "dog park"

The Fun Stuff:

there are a few name easter eggs that I've added that I hope you find funny

all the new households have their own stories and skills

there is also lore within some individual townie families—unfortunately however, once a household is removed from the favorited townies tab, all their relationships with townies outside of their household disappear—so no relationships between different townie households

How to Install

before installing, it is strongly recommended to back up your saves and tray folders incase anything were to happen

download the file and unzip the folder

take ONLY the slot inside of the folder and place it into your saves folder, here is a the location: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves

if there's a popup about a save with that name already existing, DO NOT replace it, that is a save of your own, you can simply change the number of the save in the name

open up your game and there should be a save called "The Shrimpy Save," click on it and run the save as normal

if you wish to play multiple separate saves and don't wish to redownload the save, simply click "Save as" in the options menu

if you are unable to download the world for whatever reason, the majority of the lots are for download on my gallery ShrimpPebbles, although none of the townies are—so if there is a lot you see from the map or a townie set you would like to download and don't see on my gallery, shoot me a message on here and I can upload the lot/household on the gallery at my soonest availability :)

update on the situation for this tumblr: I am currently six months out from graduating HS, so school and work has been busy this past semester and has limited how much I post and make, but I recently left my job at an unnamed big craft store and so I should have more time for hobbies and such, like this, so hopefully I can begin posting more <3

I wanted to play The Sims 4 this morning, but Steam was being dumb and decided to keep stopping and starting the update download. TBH, my entire computer has been getting super slow and stuff, so you know what I decided to do?

COMPLETELY REFORMAT MY WHOLE COMPUTER because hey, I'm sure I didn't need 600GB worth of stuff.

I backed up everything I wanted to keep (well, I hope I did anyway), and started the painstaking process of reformating the PC :')

I think I started at around midday, and it's currently just before 9PM right now, and we're redownloading stuff, so yay, progress!

We're running a lot smoother now, so woohoo! I hope it lasts...I do need to get more RAM one of these days tho...

Ranking time!

My last “Games as MBTI Types” post gave me some unexpected grief but I am totally still doing that again once I get to 150 games. 101-110 gave me a good head start because each of them ended up being a different type, ain’t that neat.

1. Dicey Dungeons - I haven’t redownloaded Dicey Dungeons on my new PC, but I really need to do that because I still have a lot of chapters left to complete and I am very interested in doing as many chapters as possible. Also, I hear Lady Luck herself is the true final boss? I gotta see that.

2. The Room 4: Old Sins - Of course, the fourth game in a series I already love is going to get a high ranking. It’s nostalgic!

3. Braid - I’m very glad to have finally experienced this important part of indie gaming history. This is a puzzle game that actually trained me to actually think in the way required to solve the puzzles, which is pretty remarkable.

4. Jam and the Mystery of the Mysteriously Spooky Mansion - It’s short, but the few puzzles there are solid, and it’s very funny to boot. I always love a point-and-click.

5. Blind Men - Maybe part of my enjoyment of this game came from using it to practice my Spanish, but overall this was a cute dating sim with a cheeky premise (you play as a cartoonish supervillain and your romantic interests are the spies sent to stop you!).

6. Super Win the Game - Yeah, I didn’t finish it, but that’s thanks to computer problems. The platforming is good and the exploration is great and I can just tell, if I had finished it I would have loved it.

7. Tonight We Riot - Brawlers are decidedly not my genre, but I have to engage with Tonight We Riot as what it is. I don’t have a lot to compare it to, but it was decently fun.

8. GNOG - Cute and colorful but overall a little too simple. I had to stop playing because of what I assume is a bug, and I don’t really care.

9. One Night Stand - Cute on my first playthrough, but choose-your-own-adventures should be longer or they run the risk of being too repetitive.

10. Metamorphabet - Kiddy game. Good for kids. I am not a kid tho.

I tweaked Addie’s sim AGAIN and decided I was bored with her current house and started building a new one.  It’s messy and chaotic but it’s so fun decorating it!!!! Right now i have clutter all over the floor though since i’m still mid-build for most of it except for the porch and her tiny cluttered bedroom.

Will I think about something OTHER than my stupid stardew kids??? NO. I want to start fresh and have Addie build her farm from the little cabin up to the big house, and have the rest of the townies be NPCs, but have a lot of work to get there.  The current save i have i just dropped my favs in but I’m about to abandon them for a new save file (I get so bored with sims once they’re comfortable -_- if i’m not struggling to keep them alive i'm not interested)

The ASS gang visited the farm:

(Abby has snake bites but they clip through her mouth oof). Note that I don’t follow their canon outfits too closely besides their first everyday outfit, and they’re all in their summer gear above.  They’re boppin to this DJ sim that i made over and fell in love with:

I LOVE HIM and his normal DJ outfit is SO cool like. He wears insect contacts and a spikey gas mask. But of course i forgot to screenshot -_-

Addie n Shane got married hence the crowd at their house.  But Shane already adopted Jas and moved in on the farm so.. mostly this was an excuse to have a party.  They also have a toddler together who is the cutest little guy 🥺

Jas spent the entire party in a pond on their lot floating on a pizza-shaped pool floatie 🤦‍♀️ so the last pic I have of her is Addie spraying her with the monster repellant crap you have to put on kids beds if you are dumb like me and forget to give them a night light:

Adelaide is not THAT bad of an adoptive mom, Jas just sat on the bed right after Addie came in to help her get back to sleep. Case and point: fruit bear solidarity when Jas was in a phase where she only felt comfortable in a bear costume

And of course, i have about 4 dozen pics of the bbs making googly eyes at each other but here is a couple:

Warden is up top (and since Addie’s a spellcaster now, he’s her proper familiar), Augur is bingsgisug and high on catnip, and Valkeryie is the pittie.  Augur is supposed to be a black cat but I don’t have a nice looking black cat downloaded, and he was so cute as a kitten!!!!

and i hinted at wedding pics so i won’t deny u if u are curious. please note that i personally don’t think shane would slick back his hair for formal events BUT he has a dark blue hair swatch in my game and i’m limited on hairs that are in the color palette i use that will work for him.  I do however think both Shane and Addie would get married with their tits out so i will accept criticism on that front lmao

the amount of time it takes to pose sims when you’re using 3! DIFFERENT! POSE! PACKS! is insane. What i wouldn’t do to have sims 2 movable sims ;( if i do this again i think i’ll just edit the pose myself, i’m not happy with the kids poses I’ve found so far (they’re well done but they don’t fit her personality, or if they do, they aren’t usable in this)

I think that’s all for now lmao I just updated my game again and have to fix an issue i’m having where i can’t bulldoze lots... which means redownloading a bunch of mods again :(

Hello! I downloaded your sundance pack and all the required meshes last night and I'm absolutely in love! However, I noticed that the Joni recolor doesn't look as it should. My sim just looks bald with a pattern on her scalp. The original mesh shows up in the game and looks fine, the only issue is with the recolor. I thought I should let you know.

Firstly, thank you for the meshing compliment, but tbh I think I make pretty simple hair styles? Like I don’t do many crazy things especially recently? Idk, I hope you like some of my hairs and can find something that fits in your liking :/

Ok I am gonna be super straight forward about this, making hairstyles like this is really challenging for me. I have tried a ton of times and I just can’t get the meshes to work out the way I like. UV mapping is a pain in the ass, making the hairline match well, and making sure none of the mesh strands are broken is next to impossible for me. Most creators that make hairstyles like this do them from scratch or spend a long time working on them for them to look right. I’m not saying ‘no’ because I am going to try to play around with some seasons meshes (I have hair ideas) but no promises :(

► As I said, I had no service so I missed the larvitar community day in pokemon go -_-

► I suck at cornhole so I was the cheer leader for a team UwU

► A deer jumped out right in front of the fucking car like RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT omg we were so close to hitting it like... it was fucking scary

► We went walking on a trail that was down a mountain and once we got down we discovered that the chairlift up was CLOSED so we had to walk back up and it was a nightmare bc we had all just drove like 30 minutes to shower in crappy no pressure no heat showers and we were all sweaty again by the time we got back to the top ;-;

Hello! I use an adfly skipper + adblock, and if both of those don’t work then I just don’t download the cc. For some creators (nolan-sims, simduction, isjao, ivo-sims, and others) I will turn them off because I know these creators aren’t ones that use the sketchy adfly stuff, but for others that I don’t know well I leave it on. I use: U Block origin and adfly skipper (both on firefox)

Hello!! I don’t think this is my eyes because I’m not experiencing this glitch? Did you run a S4S batch fix over everything? I think that causes this glitch sometimes but I am unsure. Try repairing your game and if you have the “no EA eyelash” mod then redownload that and replace the old file.

Hey ‘nonny! ♡ She’s the daughter of two sims I had before I started posting to simblr. She is mixed race - her mother was an African sim and her father was white!

I don’t have that family anymore - now she’s just one of the usual sims I use for cc previews - here she is back in November! Apparently, I removed her vitiligo overlay during my last CC purge, oops! I just redownloaded it!

Saves and CC not showing up in game. HELP

OKay so I was playing the game last night and all my cc/mods was in game/working fine. 

Then I go to play today and nothing is showing up in game, even tho its all in the mods folder. 

Anyone know how to fix this? or do I have to get rid of the cc and like redownload it? (working with a pc/dell laptop)

EDIT: I just opened the game again and realized all of save files are gone. But in my EA/Sims folder on my computor they’re in the save folder. I have no idea what is going. It was working fine last night

I'm supposed to be out of the first trimester this week or next week (I guess this isn't a science, none of my apps agree) and I'm still so. tired. I tried playing sims last night but I had to redownload some mods because it's been so long and I was just too foggy to figure it out so instead I went to bed. I'm getting 8-9 hours a day (including naps) but I've never been this tired and it sucks. Whine whine. Doctor tomorrow. Think I'll bring up how tired I've been but I suspect it's "normal".
