If there was no rebellion, and Katniss succeeded in her plans for the quarter quell, Peeta would have been the victor.

Which means, she would have died, and her mother and Prim would have lost privilege, the money and the house.

Why would Katniss risk Prim's safety (and her mother as well), something that was always her driving force, to save Peeta's life?

Because she knew he would have taken care of them.

Book 1 we see Katniss asking Gale to take care of her family.

Book 2 we see Katniss assuming Peeta would take care of them, without even asking.

the hopeless romantic in me cried when I started watching tbosas only to get that same horrible feeling I get when I watch the star wars prequels.

something about a doomed hero turned villain losing his love and I'm on the ground crying because why couldn't things just have turned out differently? why did he have to make the choices he did? why wasn’t love strong enough to save them? why did they have to lose everyone? why did they have to get so twisted up and far away from the person they used to be? why wasn't the good in them strong enough to fight off the bad?

I just saw someone say they didn’t know Katniss, Gale, and Haymitch were poc in the books. What the crap.

Ok listen. I'm dying. Reading the hunger games, I was vaguely aware that district 12 was supposed to be located in my homeland, but I didn't fully feel it till I read tbosas. Like, that's Appalachian folk music, baby! The music of my people! Lucy Gray talks like me!! The humidity Snow can't stop bitching about? That's my summer!!!

And then the movie came out and let me tell you, the joy I felt hearing the covey speak. That's my accent on the big screen!!! And of course, the music was just how I imagined it!! Straight up, The Ballad of Lucy Gray Baird was *the same* melody I thought of when reading the book!!! (musicology is my passion ok). Every single song killed me I swear. And the cinematography of district 12! I can imagine my home town like that. I know meadows and lakes just like those. That's my home.

For Piper, her arena was a mix of terrain, so i gave her a wetsuit underneath with normal clothes ovetop (now torn)

I really really wanted to characterize in her pose how she played her games, and make her look innocent yet cunning and malicious! what a sneaky backstabby girl i love her

For Jason, I really wanted to lean into his desert arena! I gave him more coverage to protect from the heat, and i made him barefoot aswell just to lean into his wolfboy-ness a little more!

I tried to make him look obviously scared, whilst still putting on a strong front!

For Leo. oh boy did i suffer. I finished his drawing, then completely erased it, got a new pose, everything. I could not get him to look right. i almost died several times while drawing him. Im finally happy with him, i took his bandana and covered his burn with it (mostly because i couldn’t get the bandana to look normal) and gave him more tears in his clothes. overall i didnt change his outfit much.

once again i have NO IDEA why hes so light. pinky promise he was darker when i drew him.

I wanted to make him look intimidating! the way he played his games was very lurking in the shadows, sneaking around, etc. and i wanted to go for a like casual maliciousness. his pose is relaxed but his face is serious.

Overall, i really tried to get their personalities through with their poses plus faces. thank you so much to @piper-mcqueen-ask-blog, i really loved your ideas + drawings and you characterized them so well in their games, especially with a drastically different world than theyre usually in. you changed them to fit the hunger games au sooo well.

Funger the second has the great mechanic of punching dicks off, so at one point I thought I was about to die so I said “I’m taking his dick with me.” 10/10 game, no notes.

i’m a pretty josh hutcherson centric blog right now and even though mike schmidt is my #1 gf i’ll still write for any of his characters! if they happen to get requested of course, but i have a feeling mike is going to be in high demand right now lmao

watching lucy gray and coriolanus in a ballad of songbirds and snakes made my chest hurt. the entire first half of the movie i was desperate for their happiness, and after lucy got out of the games i was so satisfied but the story kept going… and going… and going… until we watched them fall apart and then i didn’t want them to be together because of the horror story snow became but still i wanted them to love each other… i wanted the ghost of hope we had for them in the first half of the film, i wanted the relationship that didn’t exist, and it’s going to haunt me forever.

So back when I first read the Kotlc series I couldn’t let go of the pjo series so I combined them in my head. I made it so that Sophie disappeared randomly and was reborn as Annabeth Chase(bc the blond hair) and the Kotlc characters spent years looking for her but couldn’t find her. And Keefe is desperate, obviously. This was all while she was living as Annabeth. Then enter hunger games(I read only the first book at the moment). She’s in her twenties now, and she goes to sleep with Percy by her side, only Percy wakes up with her side of the bed empty. Annabeth wakes up in the hunger games Arena. And Peeta isn’t Peeta, it’s Keefe, since he wakes up in the Arena. And at some point Annabeth/Sophie gets her memories back and is in an epic love triangle. And then I got too overwhelmed because it wasn’t working in my head and the worlds got too confusing so I gave up and now, years later, I’m reading Catching Fire and I’m remembering all of this💀. My brain was something else back then.

Another KOTLC dream has been bestowed upon me and it is even more unhinged than before. And this one features PJO and hints of hunger games 😭 (this may or may not be the result of me reading 3 books at once)

So its sort of a hunger games kind of situation. Many people are in the games, including percy,annabeth,sophie and dex. Stuff happens. Flori dies. Annabeth dies. Percy is heartbroken so he goes up to the casket to hug annabeth one last time. But lo and behold it's not annabeth its actually councillor Aliana who looks exactly like annabeth. Percy figures this out because "annabeth"'s hair does not smell like lemons. And annabeth is actually alive! They reunite and percabeth get their happy ending <3 and in the background, sophie is literally fighting for her life. Dex loses a finger a and a toe. Sophie's hair gets burnt short.

But before I could know they survived or not, my alarm rang and I woke up
