Spy's look here is inspired by other's interpretations of his unmasked look, with my own addition. I love the idea of him having a tattoo or a few he keeps well hidden, and lots of scars, just like Sniper (and while Sniper doesn't have any here, I adore tatted Sniper as well!) These were helpful in me starting to alter my style a bit, and get comfortable using new techniques and tools on CSP, much like the comic redraws that came before. there are a few things I would change in them now after a year, but i'm also still proud of them in the end. Okay so I've finally gotten to Jessicalter's Oprec and now feel qualified to talk about Come Catastrophes or Wakes of Vultures. holy shit. This went straight into my list of top Arknights events. Fantastic event, spoilers will be under the cut so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading the event first. It's really good and worth your while.

Anyway, what follows is a scattered mess of thoughts about this event and things that stuck out to me.

First off, plot stuff! I'll probably cover this when I do my next plotline recap post, but what I took away from the end is that Clip Cliff seems to want to make Blacksteel independent, or at least more self-determining than it is now. He seems to be gathering resources and assets like mobile city plates and investing in long-term infrastructure like merc training, so he definitely has a long game he's pushing for. I don't think we know enough go speculate about his goals, but we'll definitely be coming back here again. After all, Tila has an infection monitor in her art, which probably means she's going to be playable at some point in the future.

Next, having looked into this a little on my own, I was interested in some of the previous places Raythean has shown up. Specifically, the ones that stood out were the drones in the Kazimierz Major and arming Silverash's forces in Kjerag, which might be referring to the Tschäggättä. It's not just notable for their apparent level of technology, but also as a faint connecting thread between three separate capitalism plotlines. I don't know if that's going to be meaningful in the future, but I found it interesting enough that I thought I'd bring it up.

Now on to more narrative things. While I love Liskarm and Franka, I do think it was the right choice to give them less screen time in this event. They're both (for the most part) fully-realized characters who understand their own motivations and morals. This is above all else an event about Jessica learning to stand on her own as an adult, so it makes sense that they're more here to support her than they are to play their own roles in the story.

Speaking of said roles, I liked the event's commentary on cops. It pointed out an interesting distinction that I wouldn't really have ever thought of, that between mercenaries and cops. To start: cops exist to protect property, not people. The police exist to protect things and do not have an obligation to err on the side of people over things, and in fact are supposed to do the opposite. This event understands that, and that role os the core of how the bank treats the Blacksteel mercs. CV, however, raises an interesting point that mercenaries are bound by the letter of a contract and not the larger obligation to property cops are, so they can actually raise moral objections and point to their contracts, sort of a Lawful Evil/Lawful Neutral to cops' Neutral Evil. The independence of their position with respect to cops allows for more of an independent morality than you'd get in a cop story and I like that, I think it's a really smart direction to take your writing in.

On a (mostly) separate note, holy shit Arknights is really good at writing cowboy stories. Between this and chapter 9 (and I would argue An Obscure Wanderer), Arknights has repeatedly made it clear that they Do Not Fuck Around with their cowboy stories and I'm surprised I haven't heard more people talking about it. It kinda has everything:

- It takes place in a rural, working-class setting undergoing a larger imminent societal shift that can inform the larger narrative, and deals with a semi-mythologized past that is rapidly disappearing.

- It has a protagonist and an antagonist that serve as foils, both very heavily affected and defined by the (same) violence in their past that they've both had different reactions to. Our protagonist has come to terms with the violence as a tool to maintain order, while our antagonist has used it for personal gain and in some ways lost control of it.

- It's a story about community, and heavily emphasizes local and personal community over larger artificial corporate "community". That's my reading of the recurring motif of the cold btw, warmth represents the close, personal community Davistown used to have and the cold that now pervades it comes from how the bank has systematically dismantled that community.

- And, I'd argue most importantly, it understands the narrative power of a bullet. The Showdown at the end of a cowboy story is powerful because we've spent the entire runtime of our story with these characters, and they are now facing each other down with the intent to end one of their collective two stories. The entire weight of the narrative so far comes to rest on a single moment of tension. It's really hard to gather up the kind of narrative momentum you need to make that hit like it does in CV. For example, it requires a really light hand with actual action in the story, so that it really does feel like it's an even standoff between our protagonist and antagonist. On the other hand, though, you do actually have to establish the relative skill of both parties and actually sell the danger of the moment to the audience. It's really hard to toe the line between tension and actual action in a way that makes for a satisfying resolution, and CV does it extremely well.

Honestly, Arknights just seems really good at getting the vibes of American media right. This is something I noticed in DV and Lonetrail too, and I haven't really been able to put my finger on what it is about them, but the vibes are just really on-point. I want to write more about this at a later point once I actually figure out what it is that I'm feeling, but maybe it's the setting, maybe it's the cast, maybe it's the plot points, maybe it's something in between — it just seems to understand the spirit of period cowboy stories in a way that I can't describe. Good shit.

Finally, I wanna end this with where Jessica is now. The events of CV take place In between the events of Loneterail and Ideal City, so the current "now" of the story is a few months ahead. Jessica left for the frontier along with Woody, Helena, and Miles. They live together in a small new settlement, building the place from the ground up with Woody and Jessica acting as town sherrifs. At the point we're at now, rhe town is fairly well-established and Woody has temporarily left on other business, leaving Jessica the sole sherrif of their new settlement. However, she's risen to her new station, and is growing into a stronger person than she ever was before.

TF2 GAMEPLAY RANT: I AM A BAD MEDIC AND I WILL NOT SWITCH CLASSES.

i’ll stick this under a read more since it is literally me going on a full blown rant about gameplay. you can read it if you’d like! i exclusively play medic, i don’t play any other class. and the way i play medic influences the way i write him. so if you want heavily removed source musings of tf2 medic and having fun playing games, feel free to peruse yourself!

you heard it here first folks.

i am a bad medic with about 100 hours on the guy.

i am a chronic overextender with zero movement finesse, i am almost always entirely out of position— if not completely lost on the map as the team’s healer, i will favor power classes with my heals unless i can use a scout as a taxi to get closer to the front lines faster, i will run into the same sniper sightline five times and give the surprised pikachu face when i am headshotted every time before i think to take a different route, i can’t hit a crossbow shot on an enemy or a teammate at point blank, i regularly forget what team i’m on and if i’m not laser focused on spies and spychecking (see: not doing my job as a medic which is to have that medigun out and on at all times) i will die to them every single time.

i am a bad medic.

i just spent the last three hours getting my absolute shit rocked on casual badwater basin, and about thirty minutes to an hour of that getting harassed by a guy— not even on my team, or maybe he was, i don’t know lmao— about how dogshit of a medic i was.

maybe i didn’t heal him enough. i was definitely dying before i could get a full uber nine times out of ten, and i have a horrible habit of running directly into fire on the field, and i cannot time an uber to save my life or my team’s. there was a point where there were four medics on the team and i had to genuinely ask myself damn… am i really that bad of a medic?

we were getting our asses kicked. so bad. it wasn’t even funny.

but here’s the thing: i was having fun.

even with three other medics joining me in the joyless work of healing the team and not dying and popping your uber right when it’s needed and not dying before you get the uber and not wasting the uber (i died so many times with an unused uber bc i didn’t know when to use it to best help the team) and checking your back for their spy running around with the YER not to mention the rest of the enemy team which is for some reason functioning like a well oiled machine while we have taken an active hit to our damage output because we now have four medics—

or maybe i just suck.

but i had fun.

support classes, healing classes in any fps really are for the people like me— who can’t hit a shot and frankly refuse to learn. for the people who don’t want to be directly in the action, because we refuse to learn how to aim on a computer, so we are easy pickings for anyone who has half a braincell and working eyes and minimal carpal tunnel, but close enough to it that we see the carnage. people who cannot reliably toggle through weapons, are trying to learn the maps, can’t jump high enough to even reach some of the places the other mercs are and at this point are too scared to ask.

and it makes me think of the other day, when i hopped on for a few hours and (after dying repeatedly) saw multiple messages through the chat with what i could only think at the time were sarcastic jabs at a medic, there was two at the time and i was the one dying, so you know— if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck…

it’s not been my week on the servers, i think. but i am still having fun.

i love playing medic. i am normally the only or one of two medics on a team at any given time. and i like it that way. and i love having a second, better medic on the team. i try to study them, see how they stay alive so long. it’s hard in the heat of battle. but i’m dead half the time so i’m watching through the killcams anyway. and it looks to be a lot of staying behind corners, standing, crouching, watching, waiting. and that’s… fair.

i just don’t want to play that way.

i love the way i play medic more than i actually want to be strategically good and effective to the maximum extent as a medic.

i love jumping into the heat of the front lines, getting that soldier that’s at 22 as he falls back to reload then quickly moving to the scout at 10 to get him the fuck out of dodge so he can get to a medkit and maybe if i’m fast enough getting to the demo at 64 and taking more damage and dying anyway to the sniper before the payload even reaches the next checkpoint, hearing the ding of the checkpoint captured while i wait to return to the realm of the living. i love getting lost on the maps, standing on an empty edge of the map as the team is yelling for me, and i’m not listening. i love taking in the scenery. i can’t help but laugh when my kamikaze stunt of jumping in puts me in the middle of the enemy team. i love making batshit pushes for intel with two heavies. it is a rush to place myself behind aggressive players and do my best to keep them alive. i screech when we succeed. and i feel as though i am a good sport. if a spy gets me, they got me! that’s on me and my team for not spychecking! we know they exist!

and i like having aggressive and knowledgeable players help me and in extent the team by telling me what to do! i am a support class! i am not supposed to even be on the front lines! tell me when to pop my uber! tell me which way we’re flanking! warn me if you peek the corner first and see the entire team charging at us! i am your doctor! i will throw myself in front of those bullets and die happily if it means you will get those extra hits! i will be back shortly! just don’t die before then! let me know when i’m overextending, when i need to fall back, i want to be a good medic, i want to be the most use to my team i can be!

but i also want to have fun! i just don’t want to learn how to aim!

i am just the healer. and my motto is if you’re taking damage and you’re by the payload or on a point you are my top priority. if my job is to heal you, and we’re on payload, get to the cart, because that’s where i’m headed if i’m not there already. if you want to push for the intel on 2fort even though they have five sentry nests put up but you need a doctor to try to keep three to four of you alive as long as possible to at least bust two of the sentry nests, though you’ll settle for one, i’ll be right behind you each step of the way. and honestly, know that i am a bad medic! my doctorate is in crayon and the syringe gun is for show! i’ve never consensually removed a body part in my life! i’m here to have a good time and die a whole lot doing dumb shit!

and i will not switch to soldier. i will not switch to pyro! i will not switch to a class i don’t want to play, an “easier” class, a “less important” class and leave the team down a doctor entirely in the hopes someone better decides to pick the class! i like to play the medic! i want to play the medic! in fact, i almost like being a bad medic more. anytime someone groans about a bad medic i snicker a bit, and i heal them less.

appreciate the medigun or die without it.

anyway. remember when playing games was fun and people didn’t act like they were getting paid for the shifts they put in on team fortress 2? i initially titled this “medic and spitting in the face of meta to embrace in the arms of theme” because it is essentially what i do. i stomp all over the meta of what it means to play a support class, what it means to be a healer and heal your team to instead do team fortress 2 battle roleplay and giggle the whole time. and again, i acknowledge i am a bad medic. but dammit, people get healed. and when the shit works, it works. and the feeling i get can only be matched if i injected meth directly into my bloodstream and took five bumps of coke. because i like to have fun when i play my sexy german man. i follow the better medics so i can die before them. im like bait for the enemy team. even if i can’t make it to the full uber, what you don’t know is there’s another medic behind me about to pop. but back when i first started playing i was exclusively a battle medic. the medigun never touched my hands. i was just a stock medic running around bonesawing people.

so maybe it truly is old habits dying hard.

and i won’t switch classes.

and truly, am i that bad if all the medics are averaging the same amount of heals?

like if it’s just me and i average 10k heals, and another medic joins and we both average 5k, and another one joins and we’re each averaging 3-4k; is it the medic sucking caged cock and balls or is the team just not as good as they think they are?

but that’s a rant for another day. i’m gonna stop it here.

anyway. pick a class, and if you like playing it, don’t change. play until you get better.

The Trapper (Angel)

Trapper is a very paranoid man. Due to past events, his paranoia has gone from simple anxiety to hallucinations and very bad schizophrenia. Mann Co, using this against him, has put him on the field and used his quick to shoot mental state to fight. He’s usually a quiet guy, despite his loud appearance. He can get upset quite fast though, thinking people are always after him and will always attack, trust is not easily earned and is very easily broken. Mann Co. has prescribed him medications to “keep his paranoia calm”. They don’t actually do that. The medications keep his paranoia on edge, his adrenaline always pumping, always hallucinating. He’s only allowed to skip doses on ceasefire days as to not ruin his tremendously high kill count.

Aside from his lore, I feel like Trapper’s quick thinking should let him win! He’s a very lovable guy when he's not screaming his head off. Plus look at those big ol puppy eyes!!! His game mechanics are mostly listed in his ref, and yes, Engineer was the one to build his current prosthetic!! He has an hesitant relationship with most the mercs, but he’s not fully distrusting of them. He’s so sillay he deserves a nice big cup of chocolate milk. I love him and you should too!!!

The Jack of All Trades, Wolfgang Stahl (+ "Bluey")

You know him, you love him--it's everybody's favorite everyman, the one-of-a-kind Wolfgang Q. Stahl! This Jack of All Trades hails from the great state of Arizona, but don't get it twisted--he's no Phonecian. A veteran of war and a helping hand, this middle-aged man has climbed mountains great and small for work, and it seemed to him like TFI would be the next best place to be!

At least, that's one half of the story.

Was his life stolen from him, or did a twisted reflection follow him down from that lonely mountain peak? What happens to the parts of yourself that you ignore, run from, and leave behind? The anger and grief that you sowed--not for the world, but for yourself--will come back to haunt you, face-to-face. It's only a matter of time.

In gameplay, The Jack of All Trades is marketed as “a class for the multiclasser”, a Support class which offers a varied but sometimes laid-back fill-in-the-gaps type gameplay experience for any of those micromanagers on your ideal team. He comes provided with his own stock weapons, including:

Primary - Scoped Shotgun ; Based on the Remington 870 hunting shotgun with a scope attached. Range is limited compared to stock Sniper but can still pack a well-aimed punch when scoped or unscoped.

Secondary - Dual Pistols ; Based on the 60’s Browning Hi-Power pistol. Dual wielded with a slower shooting speed but higher ammo capacity & caliber compared to stock Scout.

Melee - Hunting Knife ; Serrated Buck knife with his family name engraved on the handle. -75% Health upon backstab.

The Jack of All Trades is made a unique class due to his gimmick item:

Gimmick - The Backpack ; Can hold and use up to five items from ANY other class (Ex. Picking up a dropped Engineer Wrench to repair a dispenser), as well as hold or use ammo crates or medkits. 

The Backpack would open a HUD upon selection with five slots to choose from, and any items within can be used either for yourself or distributed to other teammates. Got a Scout in need of healing but no Medic around? Pass a spare medkit to him. The Pyro wants to try the Backburner an enemy dropped on death but you got to it first? May as well hand it over!

Upon spawning or respawning into a match the Backpack will generate with a random assortment of items (or nothing at all if your RNG is bad enough), but cannot be refilled by supply closets. If you want to refill your bag without dying, you’ve got to pick it up from enemy (or ally) drops yourself.

In baseline TF2 gameplay, swapping out weapons from fallen enemies of the same class is already an existing mechanic--this just takes advantage of that. Any weapons you pick up as a JOAT also only have the remaining ammo of that weapon, and when that is depleted, they’re no longer usable and will disappear from the Backpack.

Yes, this does include throwables like Jarate or Mad Milk--or sometimes even a special new throwable, the Blood Bag! Whose blood is it? It’s his. :] He has O- and is very proud of that.

Tf2 characters reactions to skibidi toilet?

This ask scares me. I think it has to do with the fact that I never understood skibidi toilet, and that means I'm starting to disconnect from the youth. I am becoming the old man who doesn't understand memes.

BUT, since you asked, most of the mercs would be so confused by it. A toilet with a head coming out of it and singing, they're so old and don't understand how people find it entertaining.

I feel like the entire offense class would enjoy it to varying degrees. Scout loves to use it as a way to annoy everyone around him. Constantly blaring it at the worst times. He ends up getting his devices confiscated by Heavy for a while until he learns to knock it off (spoiler alert: he doesn't learn and keeps getting his devices taken). Soldier doesn't understand but thinks it's rather entertaining. His rather nonexistent brain has interpreted it as American propaganda and uses it to show off how great his country is. Bless his heart, he means well even if he isn't the brightest. Now Pyro likes it cause of the music. They aren't too fond of the weird animations and tend to only listen to the audio. They're the only one that's kind enough to have it blasting for everyone to hear.

Now, the defense class. Demo is typically too drunk to really understand nor care about ilwhat the hell is going on. His intoxicated brain barely comprehends the he's looking at (only focusing on actual important things like booze, bombs, and his wife Soldier). But he can get annoyed with it rather quick if he hears it playing on a loop. He has threatened to break Scout's phone after hearing it play for the tenth time back to back. He's very serious with his threats and will strap the phone to a bomb and explode it. Poor Demo is just trying to relax and have a good time. Heavy is just plain confused. He just views it as kids being weird and usually ignores it. He'll hide out in Medic's to avoid having to deal with it. But he's also the main person to put a "timeout" on the skibidi. Engie is also confused but is just too busy to care. You can show him it, and he'll be like, "That's nice, son." while continuing to fix his sentry. (He didn't even look at the phone, typical dad behavior). He's pretty chill when Pyro is playing it cause they know how to be respectful.

And finally, the most "I'm not dealing with this shit" class: support. The plus side these goobers have is that they all have a way to hide from the BS. Medic is the least vocal of the support, opting to instead watch the chaos of other people yelling for him. If anything, he'll just tell them how they're gonna rot their brain out with such nonsense. He refuses to let skibidi toilet be played in his lab. He doesn't want his doves to be exposed to such brainrot. Now I can see two different things happening with Sniper. 1. He yells at Scout and Solider to shut up, or 2. While not being a fan of skibidi toilet, uses it to annoy people like Spy (or maybe even to use it to get what he wants). Now remember, Sniper's the second youngest merc and an only child. He's just as goofy as someone like Scout. He just doesn't show it often. This would be one of those times where his goofiness shows. And finally, Spy, he just ain't having it. Devices will go missing in the middle of the night and will not be seen again. He is constantly yelling at Scout and Soldier (and the occasional Sniper) about how annoying and childish they are. He's surprised with how he's been able to deal with it. He feels like he's always on the edge of killing everyone cause of how fed up he is.

Howdy everyone!! I got super inspired by @a-scary-lack-of-common-sense class swap au and wanted to try my hand at it!

I really love these designs!! If people like them too I’ll make some full refs and make some more content with them. I probably will anyway because I have so many ideas.

(I’ll address them by their names to make it less confusing btw. Pyro and Spy are called Demonan and Soldier though. I’ll name them one day probably)

For Medic and Heavy I kinda swapped their backstories and personalities. Misha is an only child who comes from a family of, fucked up to say the least, doctors. He lost his medical license for stealing the entirety of a patient’s skin. Misha is much more of a hardass with a superiority complex. Cold and callous. He takes himself and his work very seriously,, thinks he is very scary. The other mercs don’t really give a shit, which infuriates him to no end. He cares about his teammates! somewhere deep down inside ,, like really far down. Probably. Really attached to his tools, names them like how the original Heavy names his guns. He’s pretty fluent with English.

Ludwig is much more silly and caring. He’s the youngest sibling out of his 3 sisters, and took this job because he feels obligated to pay back his family for protecting him and helping him go through college. He’s not sadistic per se, more just, really loves the blood, guts, and carnage of war, and has a very morbid curiosity. He often accompanies the Medic when he's doing operations, if he's not already the patient himself. Misha adores how fascinated he is by all of it, and gladly answers and questions he may have. Very loud and extroverted,, his laughs can be heard from miles away. He kinda scares the other mercs, but he’s trying his best to tone it down. He has a horde of pigeons that just ,, follow him around. He doesn’t really know where they came from. His favorite is named Euripides. He’s intermediate at English.

For Sniper and Scout I kinda kept their backstories the same, they just had different personalities and life circumstances that led to them taking their respective jobs. Jeremy is the older brother of 7 little sisters. His mother had him when she was 16 and going through college, leading Jeremy to have to grow up fast. He and his mom have always had to pick up odd jobs to help pay the bills. One of Jeremy’s bosses took him out onto a shooting range one day and noticed he was a natural. He encouraged him to take up predator/invasive species control to help pay the bills and helped him get started, Jeremy eventually saved up enough to move to the northwest. As he got more skilled, some shady people took note and offered him some more,,, lucrative opportunities. He’s a hick with a slight Boston accent, making him all the more awkward. Pretty introverted, the only friends he's ever had is his little siblings. He’s quick-witted when he wants to be, but usually stays quiet. He seems pretty cold tough, but will change really quickly around little kids. Drinks way too many energy drinks to compensate for his insomnia.

Mick is an only child and basically the Australian version of Scout. Which is a terrifying concept!! he scares me. He’s a pretty extroverted guy, but was still bullied for his scrawny appearance and a lack of mustache hairs when he was little, so he devoted himself to becoming the best track runner in Australia. Also he couldn’t win a fight against anyone and he tended to piss off a lot of people, so running was a necessity. He doesn’t have any siblings, but he has a lot of older friends who treat him like a little brother. He likes to paint in his free time. Took the job to help support his parents and to explore the world, or just New Mexico. Annoying jock bastard. He wears those tank tops with the holes at the sides that just go all the way down,, not even a shirt at that point. Still throws piss at people because I think its really fucking funny.

Nobody quite knows where Soldier came from, not even herself. All she knows is that she’s a General, and a damn good one at that. Although his team would like to suggest otherwise. She’s loud and erratic, missing quite a few cogs in her brain. Not lead poisoned like the original soldier, I’m leaning towards a lobotomy that really melted his brain, soupe de cerveau or somethinf. Even though she lost her mind, she kept her great commanding skills and leads the team in attacks. He can be found planning and strategizing for the next round, or hanging out with the other team’s Demo. A bit silly, a bit goofy. Comically patriotic like the original Soldier. Parleys-tu Français, DO YOU SPEAK FRRRENCH ??? Non tu ne le fais pas, you don’t? FUCK YOU

Tavish and pyros personalities are a kinda combined? I just took little bits from both of them and squashed them together. Tavish is a pyromaniac hailing from Scotland. There’s rumors that he was the cause of the fire storm that rained down on Scotland for about a week, but he’s never confirmed or denied this. His voice isn’t all that muffled, his Scottish dialect is just so thick that nobody can understand him, except for Ms Pauling and Engineer like usual. Tavish can be pretty unstable and hyperactive, but an overall happy-go-lucky guy. Drinks responsibly most of the time! Still depressed! Lots of Molotov cocktails. His favorite animal is the Pegasus, and his life's goal is to find and tame one some day.

Dell is the same personality wise, just more like spy. So a bit more stuck up lol. He also shares the same care that the original spy shows for his team, as long as it benefits him along the way. Dell comes from a long family line of Spy’s that all worked for the Mann brothers, they stole Australium for them and kept them safe from other entity's that wanted to have control over the Australium too. His goggles have all that super cool spy stuff in them, night vision, cameras, a radio. Jane helped him add some new features as of late, . I'm not sure how to incorporate Dell's fascination with trans-humanism into this Dell quite yet. Maybe something to do with his senses? Name’s Spy. Spy Gaming.

Jane is pretty much the same silly little guy,, but now with 11 phds! And he’s not lead poisoned anymore! Nobody’s quite sure where Jane comes from, every time he’s asked he always changes up his backstory. He tends to slack off more than the original soldier, "A good hard-working American always knows when to take breaks!" He's also built a variety of raccoon-themed machines that get into mischief around the base. He and the Pyro are good buddies! He likes reading their stories, and gently encouraging them to write more. He's pretty strict when it comes to safety, and will come down hard on his teammates for messing around. THAT IS NOT OSHA APPROVED HEAD-WEAR MAGGOT!

Demoman is more like Tavish backstory-wise in this. They’re a midwesterner with way too much free time who blew up their family’s corn field by accident when they were little, oh and their parents. Their bio family crawled out from the remains of the farm and took them in after they proved themselves, even with their lack of tentacles and wings. (yeah their parents are the Great Old Ones, cthulhu guys, for sillies :3 ) They still like to do creative stuff (but adult-ified because adults are insecure about having fun for some reason.) like adult coloring books, or oil painting, or having adult tea parties. Demoland is a book that they're writing, and will TOTALLY 100% work on this weekend. They hate eye contact and have never been seen without their bombsuit on, except for Scout, but he can comprehend these otherworldy horrors perfectly fine so idk maybe you have a skill issue or something.

Random thoughts on a hypothetical Canon class set if Morgan and Kana appeared in a new game, because I love them. Removing their personal classes of course

Morgan

Dark Mage- Represents both the canonical Sorcerer Male Morgan from AFP and the Sword/Tome access from Dark Knight

Wyvern Rider- obviously Wyvern Lord for AFP Female Morgan but I also want to suppose this hypothetical game would bring back Malig Knights, a class in my opinion that was made for F!Morgan just one game too late

Thief- obviously we have our tome access so now we need a sword class and I think Thief plays off Morgan's character much better than Myrm or Merc, plus Trickster fashion and Assassin access to play with Morgan's previous occupation prior to the Big Forget

Kana

Manakete- I took away the unique classes but this one isn't unique and also so much of Kana does rely on their dragonstone, from their actual kit and personal skill to their character and supports.

Troubadour- Aunty Elise wins today! Kana needs some kind of staff access and the reasons I would want to pick Cleric/Monk/Shrine Maiden are gender specific to the Priestess class. This does give Kana access to both their magic tools from the noble classes with Strategist and if we're going with the return of Maid, that's a nice reference to Kana's other Aunts.

Myrmidon- it's Samurai baybee, Kana still needs sword access and what'd'ya know there's only one real option for a Hoshidan sword class. Doesn't really fit Kana's typical game plan of being a self healing tank but Kana can have little a murder, as a treat.

This man has the SOFTEST TITS. They're PLUSH. They're GRABBABLE. Top tier pillow fr and he knows it. If you start to space out, he'll just move you gently to his chest to help you nap.

If you're spacing out or avoiding deadlines though, he'll try to snap you out of it with coffee, tea, or (hesitantly) an energy drink. He won't be mean about the way he talks to you, but he'd be sternly loving.

Loves finding you asleep in his bed. PLEASE.

Will 100% pick you up and put you somewhere comfortable. Like you fall asleep at his desk??? Boom. You're on the couch. Spacing out in the rec room??? Already in his bed and cuddling.

Spy

He gets a little annoyed that stress makes you disconnect, but that is more a stress management difference rather than contempt. (sleeping is a hell of a lot more healthy than smoking, he'll admit though.)

Likes kissing the top of your head when he finds you sleeping. It's a reward for finding you!

Doesn't like then the other mercs offer to help you that much because he's a bit too possessive. Yeah, they don't know you two are dating, but Demoman carrying you to the couch lights a flame on him he can't quite quench.

Acts annoyed when you wake up/zone back in but 100% takes care of you. Gets you water, headache meds, anything you could ever need.

Sniper

Just sorta goes along with it. Doesn't even realize there is an issue until you apologize for constantly spacing out or sleeping when stressed. Just like "Oh i thought you were done talking and just wanted to be silent."

10000% cuddles you and naps with you, enabler ass fr. He doesn't mind because a sleepy boyfriend is usually a warm and cuddly boyfriend. Also, if you pass out on a job, he can assure that you are safe.

Uses you as a hatrack I'm sorry-

Is a bit of a joker if you two are alone. If you're spaced our he'll mime out booting you back on, reloading you, ringing your brain to put you on the line, etc. When you come back to reality, you'll usually find him in mid-gesture.

Which team/driver will you be rooting for this season? I’m sticking with Max and Charles ngl and I’m interested to see how Kimi and Liam work up in the more powerful cars especially Kimi going straight into the Merc. People are saying they are gonna be wdc contenders and I don’t really believe it. I think it’s gonna be a battle between Verstappen, Leclerc, and Norris. I have full faith in Jack and Gabriel they are solid drivers who I bet are going to end up at top teams in a few years.

In terms of teams I’m a Redbull boy by heart but I have too much Ferrari merch and I also love Williams and McLaren and Mercedes. I think Redbull I’m sorry……but they are going downhill. I say this as the biggest redbull fan ever but they’ve lost Newey and so many others. McLaren I feel like will win WCC or Ferrari. Williams I think is going to have a good shot with 2 strong drivers (bring back Franco as a full time PLEASE I miss my wife tails) Merc I’m excited to see with how the season ended and with Kimi and seeing George step up to be first driver. Idk why but I feel like Kimi is going to be prioritized more for some reason.

finally, Ferrari. My family was born in Italy (around when we immigrated they went to Italy yada yada long story) and I have been a Ferrari fan. Legit the most merch I have is from them (I have the varsity jacket hehehe.) I’m really interested to see how Leclerc and Hamilton are going to play out. Both are incredibly strong but I feel like having two drivers that have such similar goals and similar ways of getting to it is gonna create tension (see Carlos and Charles allegedly arguing all the time)

idk if it’s a weird take for me to say this, but i have little to no team allegiance in formula one. i’m all about supporting the drivers over the teams, because all the teams have disappointed me :)

i understand from a business pov, and i logically know that formula one is brutal and an incredibly competitive spot. that’s reflected through how teams make decisions about their drivers, like mid season seat swaps and surprise contracts. but, lewis and mercedes, daniel and red bull, daniel and mclaren, yuki and red bull, alex and red bull, carlos and ferrari, ferrari and charles, pierre and red bull, mclaren and oscar, mclaren and lando—all of these separate incidents have turned me into a driver-supporter and not a team supporter—because i sympathize with drivers on the losing end of the deal, because formula one is cruel.

i’m obviously sticking with my landoscar in 2025. i want oscar to get pole positions in quali this year, and i want lando to eradicate the “bottle norris” agenda completely.

i’m terrified about ferrari. bc, i want both lewis and charles to succeed. but, i fear that if they are strong championship contenders, it’s going to be a dirty fight between them cause both of those men do not play about fighting with their teammates for a higher position; whether it’s 1st and 2nd or 19th and 20th.

i am curious to see if red bull’s dominance will be a thing of the past, for the reason you mentioned about newey. regardless, i think they are going to have a fight on their hands this season, but i wouldn’t be surprised if max ends up with another championship because the mclarens and ferraris get caught up fighting each other instead of him !!

this may be me creating my own narrative, but i want to say that pre-season 2024, red bull had mentioned they didn’t put that much work into the RB20 because they didn’t think the teams would catch up so quickly considering how dominant the RB19 was. instead, they saved a majority of upgrades for the 2025 car (which almost backfired considering how mclaren caught up to them, ferrari too)—but this could be me completely reaching and i made this all up in my head :)

i’m more curious to see how red bull performs when the regulations change in 2026 without newey.

i want yuki to outperform isack and liam (somehow idk), even though i don’t think that would have him in a red bull seat because of the whole honda situation. i don’t want yuki’s success to to ruin isack’s career in f1 but—it’s a driver eat driver world out here.

i really want all the rookies to do well, but it’s difficult when you see the seat changes during the season. i really feel for jack doohan if there’s any truth about him not lasting for more than five races because alpine want to swap him for franco. i love franco, i think franco has shown he’s a perfect fit for f1–i just hate that it comes at the expense of jack. that’s another reason as to why i don’t have team allegiance.

does carlos help bring williams back to the front of the field this year? probably not, but i hope alex is viewed as first driver for williams still. i have hope for ollie and esteban at haas’ cause the car was showing some promise last year. i’m afraid for gabi in that sauber, i think if the car isn’t good it’ll be the reason why he won’t have a seat after this year. it’s a shame about liam, because in any other circumstance i’d want him to do good. but the whole yuki thing makes me want him to not do so good. i think max is going to embarrass him, unfortunately.

so tldr: i am supporting my big five. lando, lewis, oscar, charles, and max. i am also too scared to think about how the 2025 f1 season could be more chaotic than the 2024 season.
