When will it appear? :) There's waaay over two thousand songs in my askbox. 😅 And I'm very slow at posting submitted songs because it takes an oddly more amount of time and energy than you'd think, that's why it's easier for me to go with the songs I already have. Will there be an "Indifferent" option? No. People bitched and very rudely demanded it when the blog was new and it left a very sour taste. Also we're 250+ songs in, it's kinda meh to add it now, but I definitely understand why you want it because some songs are really hard to define if you feel anything at all about them. (also you know people would just click indifferent to see the results instead of listening to the song lol) If I were to ever add more options, it would be love/hate.

How do I vote on a song if I feel indifferent about it? Indifferent = don't like it ig. 🤷‍♀️ Remember, I'm not asking you if you LOVE!!!!!! the song, or if you want to buy it. Liking can be as good as only a "meh, it's ok / decent enough to run in the background". Disliking can be being indifferent instead of outright hating it, when it's so neutral to you that it doesn't give you any positive feelings. It is only a minute long clip that I'm asking you to form an opinion about after all; you can change your mind either way when you hear the full version. Sometimes songs have to grow on you!

How do you pick the songs used in the polls? Mostly like this:

I have a huge mp3 hoarding archive so the submitted songs are easier for me to pick if they're already in my possession. 😅 Songs that aren't in my collection (tagged as #new to admin :D lol. sometimes i search out songs specifically for the poll that are tagged this as well) requires a bit more effort to download/listen to/edit but i have discovered a couple of great new gems so don't think i don't appreciate them!

How do I search for a specific artist/song that you've posted? All artists are tagged a day or so after the song reveal. Don't forget to use the hashtag symbol when searching or tumblr will give you all sorts of odd results!!!! (or none at all, lol) Please also remember that tumblr finds simple easy tasks extremely difficult, so only search for an artist with the easiest type of spelling, like #beyonce instead of #beyoncé. All artists and songs are added to the Complete Song List once their showdown poll is finished, for a quick search of what's been posted.

Why are all the songs of such vast variating quality? ....i mean, you didn't think I've bought all the tens of thousands of songs in my music library, did you...? Pirating songs gives you variations of quality, hell even my own cd rips have variations. It's easier to get better quality files now than it was back in the days, kiddos, so yeah some songs in the archives needs to be updated with new files. I have some very ancient mp3's that are in really low sound, that i've instead downloaded newer versions of in better quality for the polls but y'all still give me shit about it because the artist have remastered the track to unrecognition or whatever so there's just no pleasing some people i guess lmao. 😂

Do you like all the songs you've posted? No, lol. All the songs that are in my archive are songs I've at least liked enough once upon a time to save them, even if I'm not actively listening to them much anymore. Everything tagged as #new to admin :D are new songs to me that I may or may not like, regardless if they're submitted or if I've scouted them out myself only for the polls. :) Songs that I hate so much that I can't stand them are very few, and I won't waste time on adding them!

Did you change the song in the poll?? No. Maybe you clicked on the wrong one if I posted them too close together or maybe (most likely) tumblr has screwed something up for you. Some songs don't even show at times because it's tumblr being tumblr, just wait it out for a few minutes and tumblr will eventually remember to play the audio. So far there's only one song that I had to re-upload because tumblr killed the file. I can change the clip to better audio or to another part of the same song, but I never replace it to a different one once it's out there for you to vote on, I don't see the point of doing that.

Why are some polls audio files and other video files? Again: tumblr being tumblr. They won't allow some songs to be uploaded as audio, but using them in videos is ok. I hate the audio-as-video format and it requires even more effort from me so I'm not doing it on purpose. :)

I don't remember if I've heard this song before or not. If you know you've heard it, like if you're a fan or a hater or the song has been constantly played on the radio, you know it. F*ck yes i loved that new update, loved basically everything about it, especially how the characters throw in how the mc is percieved....i love it.

I have to things i wanna say tho, nothing bad promise :) I get some things that are set with the mc, but there are some things that just kinda bother me(subjectively speaking here of course)

1: But why does mc not have a drivers license for instance, i get that poor mc would maybe not have had the funds for it, but a rich one had, and i imagine that the parents would have insisted they do one so that they can drive to important meetings to get a real job etc. yk what i mean?

2: So mc can only do vocals and sucks at everything else...feels kinda like mc is suuuper useless, like a magicarp that couldn't even perform splash, or a bird without wings etc. like i get that mc is more focused on singing and vocals but i would say that it would only make sense that mc can at least play one instrument(like many real artists/musicians do) so that when they are stuck in a loop maybe they can distract themself or smth yk to get back on the grind etc.?

Also wouldn't this mean, that if mc got sick and maybe lost their voice for a time or completely they would be even more useless....like a stone that wants to fly. MC can actually drive, they just don't own a vehicle. That's because I wanna make a whole big thing about them getting their first own car/motorbike once the cash comes in you know 💖 also, it creates some nice little scenes like the cuddling Angel-option. But don't worry, MC can drive and will drive

MC doesn't like "suck" at everything else. They can play a little rhythm guitar and also they write most of the band's songs, so they're far from useless, even though they may not play another instrument (at the moment; I think I'm gonna add that option). So they're integral to the band, because even when it's Stevie writing the songs, she only ever writes for the MC. MC is very distinctive. It's interesting that you bring up MC losing their voice though bc that may or may not be a plot point later on. MC not really having another hobby is also kind of intentional. They will shift and change, but at this stage, you're playing as a very obsessed little creature. Their only real hobby besides singing rn is collecting vinyls. So I totally get what you're saying and I understand MC feels limited, but rn, that's kind of just how they are. Things may change. Others may not. Chapter 2 will give a lot more insight on MC, and a bunch more choices for y'all to make about them.

They can scream "GLOBAL POP STAR" as much as they want, but Jungkook--so-far--has failed to capture the imagination of the public they way BTS did. He's not a household name--can people even pronounce his name? And the Taco Bell logo isn't going to help.

I think people severely underestimate what Seven did for him and his solo career and just how far not only this single but his album, reached. Jungkook right now is the biggest name in bts and probably kpop contrary to what people want to believe. Every media outlet was announcing his fan song as if it was this big highly anticipated cb single and people are very much tuned in so much so that i saw blinks fighting eachother because one side finally admitted to being jk solos and the other side calling it embarrassing because of how his fans (armys) treat BP.

No one cares about how he achieved those numbers except for akgaes. General consensus is he ended his own group and is the only non flop member I mean it's insane. Scooter has really done a number for jungkook and this is with just his solo debut and now with his own "brand"? Man oh man💀

Golden compared to face on paper only did better because golden is a full English album and with 2x more songs. They had to release additional us exclusive versions to get him to crack 200k+ units while face debuted with 160k+ without half the versions golden had, and with half the songs too and not even a quarter of the promo because every single jk released prior were English collabs with western acts. Considering after seven all jk's other songs fell back to being dependent on armys and with no significant increase in chart performance despite extensive promo and the songs still being in English shows that there was in fact no actual growth and The next time he has a song that performs as well as seven would be when they bring out "seven level" promo tactics once again. If seven did anything beyond giving him a billion streams, his streams from songs like 3d and snty wouldn't have gone back to being on par with the streams he got before seven.

Look at BTS and dynamite, the streams and chart performance of their Korean songs released after shows that they did in fact gain a ton of new listeners because despite those songs being ballads it still performed significantly better than their Korean songs before dynamite. Also you see how dynamite debuted with 7m streams and then butter with 11m? Snty and 3d had like a 60% decrease from seven, being on par with left and right, so no growth and still dependent on fandom streaming. Also when or if they do decide to release another seven, I wonder if he's going to debut with 30m streams on global Spotify lol.

Also people care about jk as a solo act just as much as other BTS members, meaning no one who isn't into kpop in one capacity or the other cares about him, saying otherwise would be like pretending 5050 suddenly became a household name after cupid. Akgaes love to act like these media outlets talk about their faves the most or that it means they are the most important, when the least popular member of BTS could announce any kind of music and they'd have just as much people talking about it. No one's talking about these songs because he's so important because they don't even do all that for big western acts especially when it's not a come back single, they make those posts because armys are going to give them engagement. Let's not even talk about the ones that were paid for by scooter because we know that's how he rolls and he lurks on social media too.

Hey guyyyyysss so I am posting this just to get some constructive criticism, this is my first time trying to record vocals with a mic that isn't my phone and I would love some second opinions! You guys might know by now that I've been wanting to make vocal covers of Splatoon songs with lyrics I've written for a while now, and this is my first venture into doing so! Fair warning I'm not incredibly proud of this final result and there's definitely gonna be some stuff I'm gonna re record once I can (my voice is done for today tho lol), but I figured I'd put it out there any way to get some feedback and advice. If you are wanting to leave some feedback, please read below the cut as I might have already said something you might comment on (I'm also putting the lyrics down below the cut). Any comments, asks, or even reblogs with constructive criticism are encouraged, it's the whole reason I'm posting!

First of all the biggest thing I do not like: my vocals for Marina 💀 I already know they sound way too tired and soft, and once I have the chance I'll re-record them with a LOT more energy

That being said, I don't think I mind how Pearl's vocals came out! There are some parts that I wanna go back and re-do, but overall I am happy with them!

Another thing on Marina's parts is they definitely got a bit muffled and compressed during recording - I did her parts first, when I was still figuring out the optimal setup to record in the first place, and it definitely shows!! 💀💀 That'll definitely get fixed when I go back and re-record as well!

My criteria:

this list is ONLY pre-2000 films, and ONLY the Walt Disney Animation Studios line-up. So no Pixar, sequels, A Goofy Movie, Nightmare Before Christmas, etc

this is a list of Disney animated films that I now love EQUALLY as much (if not MORE so) as I did as a child. Basically, these are the films that I give the most passionate "commentary" for when watching with loved ones lmao (lots of "LOOK AT THAT SHOT LOOK AT THAT ANIMATION" and "MY BABIES" etc etc)

Y'all don't understand. Disney is embedded in my mind, heart, and soul, and ranking them is a herculean task because I LOVE SO MANY OF THEM YOU HAVE NO IDEA 😭😭😭 The vast majority of them fall into this nebulous middle region with me clutching them and crying DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE and constantly changing my mind on their rankings.

Case in point, the Top 3 are basically a three-way-tie lmao

Here are my honorable mentions that I seriously considered adding to the poll:

Hercules (1997): PLEASE DON'T @ ME, THIS HURT MORE THAN YOU KNOW 😭😭😭 It was this or The Lion King.... ultimately I chose TLK because it low-key feels wrong NOT to lmao, but also because while Hercules is a fun romp, TLK is a Cinematic Masterpiece that STILL makes me cry. That said, Hercules's songs motherfucking SLAP and Hercules/Megara are in my Top 10 Fave Disney Couples list for good reason.

Oliver & Company (1988): This one is a bit of wild card cuz I don't generally give it a knee-jerk "top 10" reaction. BUT GODS, I LOVE IT SO MUCH AND IT IS SO UNDERRATED KHBBJGHMBJJHK 😭😭😭

The Three Caballeros (1945): This is an absolute madhouse and I unironically adore every second of it lmao. My siblings and I would always quote it and act out scenes. It is as near and dear to my heart as any other title in the poll.

Alice in Wonderland (1951): To date, my fave adaptation of one of my fave books. It's solidly in my Top 15 Disney films of ALL TIME, regardless of date release.

Fantasia 2000 (1999/2000): This one toes the line due to the release date, but like COME ON. Epic flying whales?? Rhapsody in Blue??? FIREBIRD SUITE???? Idk what purists are talking about when they act like it's not good; it's fucking ART. The ONLY reason why it's not on the "same level" as the original Fantasia for me is cuz the OG is embedded in my brain lol

Ok bestie, anon who followed up on Amoore reporting back as requested ha. I should say we are on a similar page, her & Kitley are very tough to get a read on. And a lot of the online chatter agrees its hard to judge and goes back and forth on whether theres something more going on. For those interested, I suggest watching their youtube ch series for a general sense of them interacting. Entertaining and light vids, not overly long. Really just little things between them here & there that add up. And of course a person can review their socials..

Now onto the tea I came across online. Imperfectly summarized the best I can below. Its described as on/off thing, first beginning summer 2020. A VT insider says people are aware that Amoore hasnt been committed, to put it delicately/nicely. Leading most recently to a break of sorts last Dec-mid Jan. (Added pretty sure they are together rn though. And another person did point out if Liz was getting cheated on why would Georgia seem to maintain a good relationship with the Kitley family, which is a fair Q to pose). But notably, a strangely long break in their podcast took place over that period and for the first time in 3 years they didn’t spend XMas together or hang around each other over the holiday and when podcast recording returned they just said “we had Xmas” and didn’t talk about it. It was also pointed out that sometime in winter, Liz had tickets to see an NHL game and went w Cayla King despite her and Georgia talking about how they wanted to go together before. Only sus bc it happened to coincide w the time where Georgia was speculated to have gotten close to Kate Martin. Then suddenly they K & G werent interacting anymore and L & G seem back to being “besties”.

Sidenotes:

Liz’s "2020 love playlist"… apparently someone has screenshots that it used to be titled Georgia. Includes some fav bands/songs of Amoores. And a tune called Australia Street lol. Lots of love songs predictably, but some breakup songs were added to it at one point (the comment seems to insinuate during the time they were going through issues)

They're friends with a married lesbian couple (Youtubers/influencers? The Bellaires) who they once visited alone.

I'm ngl, I was never the most invested in V-Tech or the girls on the team, so I don't really follow them. And I was pretty convinced Liz was straight so I just assumed her and Georgia really were just really close besties.

But this checks out with what I've heard/read too, that they were in that "undefined" kinda place, mainly because of Georgia and eventually Liz got tired of it. I definitely didn't know about the Christmas or the NHL stuff but that makes sense. Also from what I heard, they were probably done for good now with Liz going to the draft? General - I wanted to make another self-indulgent prompt list this year for OC-tober so I did :3 - If you do feel like following along, remember that your health, comfort and motivation come first! Ren's Meta / Rant List :: KPTS / Kimchay

I've had a number of requests from people to put all my metas and rants onto one place for better reading and access, so here you go! I'll update as I go, but for those who'd been asking me, thank you for your patience!

Since I've read the fan translation of the novel, my rants usually tend to center on the differences and changes from book -> show (with a hyperfocus on Kimchay, cuz they're my fave). This serves as a way to better highlight my own understanding of the story, as well as to speculate on BOC's intent with their changes. I personally think it's important, since the authors themselves-no matter one's own opinions on how problematic they are-were heavily involved in the production of the show (at least from the limited BTS footage available online).

Having said this, I'm not here to to tell people what they can and can't do with these fictional characters, and this should already go without saying. This is fandom, you're more than welcome to play with these mafia dolls however you like, and I shall do so as well.

Please don't take these rants/metas as self-appointed gospel for the show, these are just my opinions and thoughts, and in no way are they intended to attack anyone else's opinions and views, no matter how they may come off.

Y'all are also welcome to read the book and draw your own conclusions, and you wouldn't get any judgement from me!

Please don't argue with me about your headcanons and whatnot, since arguing with people online just gives me anxiety. Lol Headcanons are just headcanons and may not always be universally shared, so please treat them as such.

If you have been on Twitter or Instagram during Sept and October, y'all know it's that time of year again! It's time to celebrate Michael Jackson's epic accomplishments with the best-selling album of all time—Thriller! And I don't care what anyone says, Thriller is the official Halloween song!

Okay, so as you all know by now, and if ya don't, you will soon, lol! The MJ Fam is attempting to get Michael Jackson's amazing short film, Thriller, to 1 Billion views! So, Please stream the short film on YouTube as much as you can, but please watch other videos in between so you're not exhibiting bot behavior and for your views to count. However, to make things easier, you can also watch the following playlist on the flyer below! Just scan the QR code, and you are taken to the pre-made playlist!

The Thriller Challenge 2 (Starts this Friday, October 20th, 2023)

With the monumental success of Michael Jackson’s Album, “Thriller,” being the best-selling album of all time, the actual single, Thriller, has never reached #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart—and it’s by far that has changed! With the “Thriller Challenge 2,” MJ Fans the world over plan to get Michael Jackson’s single, Thriller, to #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart! We attempted this last year (albeit Thriller placed decently), but it didn't make it to #1, which is why we need more fans to participate! We can do this! So, please Stream and buy the single Thriller (only the song and not the album) as much as you can. Please only buy and stream the official album version of the song, which is on the original 1982 release of Thriller, Thriller 40, and Thriller 25—this is very important as all other versions do not count towards the Billboard for our goal!

While streaming Thriller, please do not loop the song—play 2 to 3 different songs by the J5, The Jackson’s, 3T, or other artists of your liking so that the streams are counted properly. And make sure the volume on your app is turned up. We understand listening to Thriller (though we love the song) a million times might be challenging; you can, therefore, turn your device volume down or mute it—but not on your app. Please keep the volume on the app itself turned up! In closing, today, the artist Drake has officially tied Michael Jackson as the male solo artist with the most No. 1 songs in Billboard Hot 100 History. Now, I'm not here to diss Drake, but let us be for real: the music that's being made today is not classic like many of MJ's and other legendary artists hit records. When Michael was selling millions of albums, there was no streaming; people had to actually go to the store (and sometimes stand in long lines) to support their fave! And if you ask me, there should be some distinction between physical sales and today's streaming—these are two different eras—it's unfair to compare the two. Today, with streaming being a click away, social media influence, and such—it's easier for artists to break records. I could make this post longer, but I'll chill as I do have a lot to say about this—but I'll save that for another post. At this point, it's all laughable. It's a skewed numbers game, and artistry is no longer at the forefront. At the end of the day, Michael's music will continue to be played millions and millions of years from now because Michael poured his heart and soul into his art while battling so many things. That being said, I hope this provides some extra motivation for to stream Michael Jackson's Thriller. Let's make Michael #1!

was not aware of some of the racist/homophobic language in GNR's early discography and it quite literally shocked me to hear, considering Slash (lead guitarist) is biracial, but from what I've been able to tell they've long since deviated from that particular song and some contemporary album pressings don't include it anymore. I guess back in 1986 the world was a different place and they were a hard rock band with a hardcore image but still, zoinks lmao. oof. no like that

Axl seems to have struggled with mental illness most of his life and there's this super intriguing situation that I don't think is well-known outside hardcore GNR fans, where the former nanny of his ex-girlfriend basically became a ""mother figure"" to him in the 90s when he was at a low point....and so this Brazilian woman named Beta and her adult kids are basically Axl's found family now? he never had any children, never remarried, and just lives with these people and his cats. super fascinating, I'm still trying to understand the extent of their relationship, because Beta is also apparently his acting band/tour manager....!? I wonder if something nefarious is going on there in the background but they do genuinely "seem" like a family. weird.

What is the most unusual profession someone in your family was in? Oh brother. My dad had an uncle who pretended to be a doctor and carried a doctor bag around. He refused to admit he wasn't one. The same uncle got most of his nose bit off by a horse. It was a strange time.

What hobby were you really into as a kid? writing, always.

What's the last movie you watched? Did you enjoy it? What genre is it? I watched This is 40 for some reason. I didn't find anyone particularly likable but did laugh a bunch. I wanted to watch something kind of mindless because we just finished watching Sopranos and that was so heavy. What is your favourite movie genre?  documentary maybe? Been a while since I've watched one though.

What movie would you recommend? Mary Poppins, always. It's fun as an adult to see the chemistry between Julie Andrews and Dick vanDyke. This is literally the only movie I can think of right now.

Do your IRL humans know about your fandom life? If you're a creator, do they know you create? I don't think they understand the depth and extent of it. Maybe 4 friends know about the fanfic writing and one in particular tells me to be proud of it and to tell more people, but I'm too shy for that. I still stay pretty quiet about it in general. If you could do one activity with your pocket/fandom friends what would it be? Oh god, I just want to be in a cuddle pile and talk about this damn show until we all pass out.
