New podcast on Fast and the Curious!  Lando It sounds like it really was just the one day in Perth! Lando said he made eggs for everyone the morning after they arrived and was left to do the washing up! The "illegal stuff" he mentioned in the F1 interview was riding motorbikes without proper protective kit 😂 He mentioned how he and Oscar have chats every race weekend about what they expect and their own debriefs afterward. (I'm sure most teammates do this but Andrea said that he likes how much they work together so it must be pretty special!) Him being hard on himself is about having high standards for himself which he feels is what's made him who he is today. He likes staying out of the chaos of contracts and changing teams. Said again how comfort for him is important because honesty and trust is better at a team where he knows people. They talked about how much people adore Lando and he said how much he appreciates it and still isn't used to it. He thinks he has the best fanbase. 😊 They said he seems genuinely happy and he really did! Oscar He'd had a flapjack that morning!  They said how Oscar was the first "thing" they'd ever recorded and he clarified that he's human - so cute 😊 And he is their most frequent guest! Said he felt more settled and comfortable as opposed to the second half of 2023 hitting him "like a train" with how busy it was. Feels better now he knows what to expect. He pretended to get upset when they said they wanted to see Lewis win 2024 WDC 😂😂 Fred Vesti had told them that Oscar decided to stay away from the Alpine twitter drama (35:20) by playing chess with him since they lived next door at the time! His wisdom teeth gave him problems through the season and he should have had them out twelve months before. Oscar does not call his car a "she"! The only reason he called a car "Silvia" because his mechanics wouldn't let him leave until he named it 😂 He said that he and Lando will always work hard to help the team to get the most out of the car ❤️ While it's nice to have compliments he knows neither compliments or criticism will make him drive better so he just needs to stay focused.

Being a F1 driver is not an easy thing . It is not an easy thing at all . Everyone is constantly judging you for everything .

Especially if you are the only woman in a sport that most people are men .

I am not saying that F1 is a man's sport . I've known a lot of women in the Formula world , it is just that everyone is hard one you when you are the only woman in Formula racing with other people . And it is even harder when you are racing in F1 .

Currently I'm sitting in Toto Wolff's office with Susie .

" I don't know what I did wrong . I didn't say anything to him ." I said to Susie about what happened a few minutes ago in the conference room .

I was sitting with Lewis , George and Mike and we were all waiting for the other drivers to show up so we could discuss some things for the upcoming season .

But someone had other plans . . .

A lot of drivers didn't even showed up .

Lewis was starting to lose his patience and after a couple of minutes he got up and tried to search for the others .

" Where are you going ? " I asked him quietly looking up at him .

" I just want to get this over with and go home as everybody else wants , but there are just a few of us . " He said angrily .

" Let me come with you . " I said to him and the moment I got up from my chair , a certain Red Bull driver whispered : " Puppet " .

After that I just left the conference room and didn't show up .

A dumb little thing about who i think the f1 boys would main in overwatch based on my own perception of the idiots.

Max - Absolutely the annoying Genji main who spams I need healing but will also get a 5 stack on his own when he's on crit bc he's just that good.

Sergio - Mercy bc he'd just pocket Max all game and heal NO ONE else and get angry messages from the rest of the team about him not healing them. There's two healers for a reason in his eyes.

Carlos - Reinhardt but he's very chaotic and charges in swinging his hammer on his own and then kicks off when he immediately dies.

Charles - He'd play Echo and always flank the enemy healers when they were out of position so the rest of his squad can capitalise on capturing the point.

Lewis - Sombra bc he loves hacking everyone and pissing them off and then just yeeting out of there with his translocator. Absolutely stands invisible next to the enemy team spamming boop

George - He'd be that annoying Lucio that just wall rides everywhere and boops everyone off the side of the map and then do the dj emote he paid 8 quid for.

Lando - Widowmaker for sure. He's got a really good shot on him and would terrorise the poor enemy Mercy and snipe them out of spawn all the time.

Oscar - Junker Queen. Half bc she's an aussie and half bc no one else will play a tank. He only hopped on the game one time with Lando and now he's 400 hours deep.

Daniel - I think he'd like Orisa. He's definitely played a few different tanks bc he hates playing healer and Lando and Max would always hog the dps roles.

Yuki - Definitely DVA. He loves getting play of the game with his DVA bombs that he definitely just yeets into the enemy team and hopes to get a few kills.

Kevin - Torbjorn. He'd run around with his little hammer trolling his team and the enemy team and get no kills himself whilst his turret has 100.

Nico - Moira but a dps Moira. He hates playing healer but its the only role left so he picks the most dps healer and is a nightmare. Gets the most kills on the team and has 800 healing in a 10 minute match.

Esteban - Wrecking ball. He's actually good at him too but will still just swing around a point and keep hitting the enemy team off to stop them contesting.

Pierre - A really REALLY good Tracer. He jumps around everywhere and knows exactly which target to go for and when to back out and use his recall.

Zhou - Life weaver bc he isn't the best at aiming and wants to help the best he can so he plays healer. He's pretty good at prioritising his tank and other healer and lets the dps just do what they usually do.

Valtteri - Symmetra. Definitely spams the sentries outside of spawn so the squishes will just instantly die and the team gets staggered. Actually pretty good and skilled with her.

Lance - Junkrat bc he's annoying af and he loves just standing behind a wall spamming his bombs into the air in the hopes he might kill someone. Would only end up with like 3 kills too.

Fernando - Mauga. Man's a machine and so is Fernando. You know he loves terrorising tf out of the enemy team with his massive machine guns.

Alex - Reaper main through and through. He's really good too which makes it even more annoying bc he can wipe a full team on his own if he really tries. Definitely in a mini war with Max to get the most kills in a game.

Logan - Soldier 76 sorry not sorry. He's not very good at OW and is more of a COD boy so picks the most generic easy to play hero he can.

I don't hate Kimi and I don't get why so many George or Lewis fans are so defensive about him! There's absolutely no way he's going to come in and demolish George because everyone in the team knows he was moved up early, so it's more likely than anything the next couple years he will still be getting adjusted to the team. Yes I get that he got an opportunity at Merc immediately and George had to wait, but ultimately I think the racecraft George learned at Williams has really helped him. Kimi will have to learn the same in a top car with a lot of pressure on his shoulders. It will be hard for him, of course, but I think we'll ultimately have a strong lineup in a few years' time and meanwhile George gets to play mentor for a while just like Alex and Lando did as well

This. I notice how defensive some fans are but I'd honestly respect it and just look the other way since I don't want to butt in or try to change their mind but Kimi's hate is sometimes forced? Like two things can be true

A. He is a good driver

B. He might not be ready yet for F1

And that is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT fine. For George's fans, we need to trust George man... Like do you not see what he did in GP3 and F2, especially GP3. George dunked a dominant season on everyone's ass. He broke records, beat Ferrari drivers on his F1 testing when he was in F2. Let's have confidence in our guy please? George did not do that in GP3 easily with Jack Aitken, Nirei Fukuzumi, and Anthoine Hubert up on his ass in that fast ART GP car. Also he did not do that in F2 easily when Lando Norris, Alex Albon, and Nyck De Vries were his competitors. Nyck De Vries chasing his ass in AD18, they had a contact and George still went through and win the race. Let's have confidence in our guy because he isn't just another GP3 or F2 champion. He is a record breaker i tell you.

For the demonic sects, gosh please pick a side. Don't be bipolar like some thermoelectric materials. One day you say "YESSSS KIMI IS GOING TO COOK EVERYONE AND GEORGE" and the other day you say "FUCK KIMI HES STEALING POOKIE'S SEAT AND BONO". Please. Pick a side to hate and like???

International Incident Part 2

Part 1

Daniel patted Pierre's back once more with a nod and walked back to his duo. "Three done," Danny said as he approached, sitting down in the same spot he vacated. He sat a bit closer to Lando, resting his hand on Lando's back as he settled.

"Where is mine?" Max asked, appearing offended.

"I'm saving the best for last, Maxy," Daniel answered with his customary media smile. Max grumbled, but let it go. "Guess it's my turn then! Lando, truth or dare?"

"Given what you asked Max, I'll take a dare please," Lando answered. He looked over his shoulder to see Danny's face as he thought of a suitable dare.

Suddenly Daniel lit up with an idea. He shifted on the ground and opened his legs. "Sit here," Danny said with a pat to the ground between his open legs.

Lando's eyes opened wide and exclaimed, "What?! Why?"

Danny laughed and said, "come on, Lan. Offer me some comfort in these trying times."

Max added with a smirk, "You cannot refuse a dare, Lando. We do not have another option."

Lando glared at Max and turned back to Danny with a big breath. After a moment, Lando put his hand on Danny's kneecap, pushing it down to the ground so he could just swing his body over the leg. Once between Danny's knees, he held himself stiffly. That wouldn't do. Danny leaned forward, wrapped his arms around Lando's waist and pulled him back. Lando's back was now stiff against Danny's front. "S'alright little bear. You can relax," he murmured into Lando's ear.

"Think you get a turn now, Lando. Who do you pick for Truth or Dare?" Max asked, clearly trying to move past the uncomfortable situation.

Lando looked back at Max and quickly asked, "Would you have taken any risks if I was winning?"

"You are supposed to offer me truth or dare first," Max answered stiffly.

"Sure," Lando responded briskly, "but we both know you would pick a truth."

"Dare!" Max said on impulse.

Lando offered a wicked smile as he settled more comfortably against Daniel. "Oh. A dare? Well, in that case..." Max was clearly questioning his life choice but didn't say anything. Lando turned his head to scan the room. His eyes lingered on both Charles and Lewis before continuing their exploration. Checo, Alex, Pierre, Carlos, and Daniel.  "I dare you to rank your F1 teammates and then tell them their rank." Lando was beaming with how proud he was of himself. Max's face showed he was incredibly uncomfortable with the idea.

Clearing his throat, Danny asked, "that it?"

Lando frowned, looking back at him, "yes," he responded suspiciously.

Daniel turned to Max and said, "he didn't tell you what you were ranking them by. Pick a category, Maxy!"

Lando sucked in a breath and exclaimed, "no! You traitor!"

Danny chuckled and shrugged. "You have to be more precise with your dares Lan."

Max was beaming, delighted by this exchange and, more importantly, Daniel's suggestion. He thoughtfully looked at all of his current and former teammates one at a time. "Height," Max answered decisively, with a quick nod.

"Noooooo," Lando whined. "That isn't a ranking! That - that's just a fact! What is the fun in that?" Lando dropped his head down on Danny's shoulder, banging it a couple of times in frustration.

"Daniel," Max started, ignoring Lando. "You have been my second tallest teammate after Alex." Danny nodded, agreeing.

"No, no, no," Lando continued to grumble. "This game is stupid." Lando crossed his arms and glared at both men in turn.

"Your turn will come again, Lando," Danny reminded him, tapping him on the side. "Just do better next time!" he added cheerily. Max gets up to go tell his teammates their height rankings.

Lando watched Max as he walked swiftly over to Pierre. "Why didn't you let it go? Don't you want to know where you rank to Max?"

Shrugging, Danny answers, "I already know where I rank. I'm Max's favorite. Everyone knows that. No need to make him uncomfortable having to say it. Besides, you really want Checo to hear that he's Max's least favorite teammate? Or were you hoping for a skill-based rank, because that's even meaner. Who do you think he would put last? Pierre or Alex?"

"Hmmm, good question." Lando looked between Pierre and Alex stating, "Pierre has a win in an AlphaTauri, but I really, really hate staring at Alex's wing. I think Alex is probably the better driver, but I'm not sure if Max would agree. I also might be biased since I just like Alex more."

Danny responded quietly, "how would you feel having to tell me I was your worst teammate?" Lando stiffened up, no longer casually leaning against his friend. He stuttered for a moment when Danny cut him off, "I'm not asking you to. I'm just saying it would feel crappy for both of us, right? Why make anyone feel crappy when we are already in this crappy situation?"

Lando looked contrite as he settled back against Danny again. "I'm sorry," he whispered. "I didn't think of it that way. I just wanted Max to do something a bit uncomfortable since he wouldn't answer my question."

"You mean the question you already know the answer to?" Daniel paused and added, "he would never let you question your first win Lan. You'll get one. You'll earn it and you don't need doubt to color it." Danny patted his side. "You didn't need a pity win."

I can’t lie but I’m a little bit nervous of George’s future.

It seems like Kimi is in the seat nest to him next year, but Toto has also made no secret of his desire to get Max. I have no doubt he will be booted if he’s outperformed by Kimi, and Max wants the Mercedes seat.

On the other side, I hate how Mercedes have treated him. I hate for him to lose out but if they don’t trust him they need to let him go. So conflicted

Ok I'm going to start this answer with a PSA:

If you're going to come in my ask box to doubt George's future at Mercedes based on Toto Wolff's actions and words you are not going to like my answers very much.

If George ever leaves Mercedes it will be on his own terms, not Toto's. Toto also does not hold every single decision making power within the team. If he did, Lewis would've gotten whatever he wanted with his contract contrary to the cult's beliefs. The big 3 at Mercedes Benz hold more power over driver line-ups and everything else essentially than Toto ever will.

Below the cut is a whole deep dive into the dynamics that is the board of management and their decision making power if any of you want to read.

Let's start with the fact everyone knows for certain.

Mercedes F1 team is controlled by Mercedes Benz, Toto Wolff and Ineos. They each hold 33.3% of the shares in this company.

The current board of management for the f1 team consists 2 reps from all three of the above entities. Markus Schäfer, Michael Schiebe for MB, Johnny Ginns and Andy Currie for Ineos, Toto himself and Rene Berger (Toto's business partner). Oh and Carrie Donaghy as company secretary but she's not a major player.

Ineos tbh is kinda there to just pay the amount in salaries and other things Benz didn't want to pay for. They don't actually hold much weight in driver line up decisions and will probably go with the one that causes less chaos. Jim Radcliffe is also a tad bit more focused on football than F1 at the moment and who knows if Johnny Ginns even exists. They won't fight Benz or Toto on driver line-up decisions.

So technically, it means it's Benz vs Toto 50-50 you would think when it comes to massive decisions. Not really actually.

Without Mercedes, there is no Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 team. Now you may ask why Mercedes Benz is delving into the business of Mercedes-AMG (you shouldn't it's pretty much common sense).

AMG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Benz. Their current CEO, Michael Schiebe, used to be the chief of staff to Ola Kallenius, CEO of Mercedes Benz. Schiebe also currently reports to Markus Schäfer. These names sound familiar? Schiebe and Schäfer are essentially the right and left hand men to Kallenius and the 3 of them make up the big 3 I was referring to earlier.

Now they'll give and take in negotiations, this isn't a dictatorship obviously but if Ola's set on something I have a feeling it's very hard to change his mind. And currently George is performing to a standard that would absolutely not give anyone really any ammunition to replace him.

He's also continuously being used by Mercedes Benz in certain promotional things and activities entirely outside of F1. That douyin account is a right indicater of that, the chinese GP next year will be telling that's for sure. That Targa Florio drive for the Bandini Trophy? The trophy is awarded for people's performances in motorsport in the past year. Lando won the 2023 version. Take a look at his season vs George's 2022 season and tell me who should've won the 2023 trophy. And then take a look at those two's 2023 season and tell me who should've won this year. The significance of George winning the trophy this year? It's the 100 year anniversary of Mercedes' Targa Florio win, it's 130 years of Mercedes in Motorsport and a whole bunch of anniversaries for Mercedes Benz as a company. An 18 year old is not going to generate what Mercedes Benz is doing with PR, at least not to the level George is. He might match George with the F1 team's social media activity but not Mercedes Benz. We're talking about the company that has had Roger Federer as an ambassador since 2008 and will continue to have him as an ambassador.

The board is also quite protective of George if you've noticed. They've let publications run their mouths about Kimi's testing results however they like until they started reporting the kid was beating George's times. Then Shov came out and said like 3 times testing times are not that representative. The whole email saga came out in Canada and who turns up in Barcelona for the very next race? Ola.

Schäfer and Britta Seeger (now she's a woman you just have to stan) were also in Monaco. You won't see Michael Schiebe at an F1 race anytime soon though that man is allergic to dealing with anything motorsport related in public yet they've just put him in charge of another racing company.

That recent post by Mercedes F1 with Ola appearing in Brackley and Brixworth? It could be entirely planned but considering what had just happened and the fact Ola has not being placed in center stage of Mercedes F1 socials in like ever, it's an interesting appearence to publicise for sure (why that man was talking batteries though to people at Brackley I do not know and frankly I doubt I would want to).

Like I said, if George is not at Mercedes anymore, it would be entirely at his discretion. Plus if he leaves, Redbull is going to be right there knocking on his door regardless of their junior drivers. Just take a look on how Christian Horner and Helmut Marko speaks on and of George.

Also why do people keeping thinking Kimi will get outperformed by George? Have some faith please guys.

He watches Matt purse his lips, like he’s mentally rifling between gay and queer in an attempt to decide which one will sound like less of an accusation, “a magazine for the LGBTQ+ community,” he finally settles on, ever the PR expert. “For the Pride Issue, which is...”

“...an honor,” Seb interrupts. An undeserved one, if he’s being honest. “Was Lewis booked, or something?”

It’s a bad joke, when he knows that Lewis has been waiting carefully, desperately, to feel safe enough to come out to the public. Maybe this is part of that, actually. “Oh, am I meant to lay some groundwork, then?”

Matt nods enthusiastically. “Exactly!” he says. “The angle of the feature is that F1 is ready for a gay driver, but that it’s not you, you know?” Matt chuckles, fiddles with his wedding ring. Seb met his husband at the Christmas party last year. He was a little starstruck. “I mean, obviously bisexuals are equally valid members of the queer community, don’t get me wrong, but...”

“I get it,” Seb says. Sips his coffee. “But it’s not the same.” 

He’d come out to Matt when he joined the team, the bases-covering move he’s made with everyone who might someday find themselves managing a tricky PR situation. Just so you know, I’m interested in men. No, there’s no exes, there’s nobody we need to worry about. Just a couple of kisses here and there before Hanna and I got serious. No, of course never any other drivers, fuck. None of it had been a lie. Matt had drawn the conclusions he’d drawn, and they hadn’t needed to talk about it again.

“You obviously don’t have to come out,” Matt is still talking, still explaining the scope of what’s being asked of him. “But it could be a massively important moment for the sport. A four-time world champion coming out as bisexual would really change people’s perspective. And it would mean a lot to your fans, to all the queer kids out there.”

Seb isn’t bisexual. He thinks about saying that out loud, two irrevocable syllables, and then he doesn’t. He likes men, but he loves Hanna, and their family, and the life they’ve built together.

“Don’t you think it’s a little...” he looks for the English word, the one Lewis uses when they’re racing in foreign countries and have to dress up in little outfits and pretend they’re having an authentic experience... “appropriative?”

Matt looks confused. “Seb, the fact that you married a woman doesn’t make you not queer,” he says, and Seb wants to laugh, because fuck if he doesn’t know that better than anyone. It would be easier if it did, if the weight of the ring on his finger could keep his desires from floating beyond the confines of the life he's chosen.

"I know that," he says, "but don't you think the first openly queer driver should be someone who, well..."

Someone who's as brave as Lewis will be, someday. Someone the kids can actually look up to. Someone who can give them hope that you can love men, with your whole fucking soul and not a single reservation, and still drive a Formula One car. Someone whose entire life isn't a lie. "...I just don't want to steal anyone's thunder," he says.

Matt sighs. "I would never make you do something you're not comfortable with," he tells Seb. "And I didn't tell them about you, that's not why they wanted to do the feature. They're impressed by your allyship."

Allyship is what they call it when you fight for people to have rights that you yourself don't need. It's not the wrong word for what Seb does. He's never going to get gay married.

"Let's leave it there, then," he says. He smiles at Matt. "Send me a couple back issues, once they pick a writer, so I can get a sense of their style, please."

The writer they pick is kind. He doesn't press too hard. Seb only has to lie once, when he asks if Seb knows of any gay drivers, past or present. He knows a whole list, one that Michael made him memorize in his first season, a promise and a warning of everything he could have if he was willing to keep his head down. Their secrets aren't his to tell. And as for his own, well.

When the issue comes out, Matt emails him the preprint with a one-line message. I'm proud of you, it reads.

Things in George's life haven't really been clicking lately-- since Italy, he thinks. He's been making a list in his mind of what's feeling off because his therapist wanted him to report back the next time they talked. Really all it serves to do is make George's mind spin until he's staring at the ceiling, awake at 4 AM, only being able to think about what's going wrong.

The first thing is driving. He knows he hasn't been at his best lately. Winning has finally felt close, closer than it has all season, closer than it has since he's come to F1. Driving with Williams, he'd gotten pretty good at learning how to lose. But coming to Mercedes, things were supposed to change.

He knows there are mountains of pressure on Lewis' shoulders too, more so than George's. He can barely read an article about the season without hearing about how Lewis might go without a win for the first time since he started racing in F1.

Lewis claims he doesn't care. George can see right through it.

Regardless, the weight of their winless season is pressing down on George every second of every day. But finishing last? In one of the fastest cars on the grid? He hasn't been able to sleep without thinking about the race in Singapore, how he should have been able to keep up with the pack, should have brought home points. Mr. Consistantly Awful, his brain supplies him.

Japan hadn't been much better. When he'd finally stopped thinking about what could have happened to Carlos, to Pierre, he'd had time to think about how he'd finished in 8th. And also to think about the fact that Max, though rather anti-climactically, had won the title again. Neither him, not Lewis, had had any shot at the title or the win in Japan.

Speaking of Lewis, he slots right into second place on George's list of anxieties. It's... hard because Lewis is busy. He does 10 times the things in one day that George does in two. He's always got things on the go, more projects than George can count or keep track of. And, it's one of the things that George loves about him. But it also means that he hasn't seen Lewis in days. And George hates to admit it but not being around Lewis is really fucking bad for his mental health.

His therapist tells him he needs to get things figured out without Lewis, but that seems overwhelming and awful and makes him think about the terrifying possibility of Lewis leaving him, and then he has to go on a hard run to stop those thoughts from spiraling.

He knows people can tell he's not doing well though. The bags under his eyes are more designer than Pierre's wardrobe. He didn't shave before Japan, couldn't bring himself to do the little things after Singapore, and the photos were all over the internet.

Toto had given him a concerned look after Japan, George brushing him off with "I'm fine, just the jetlag" and then crying himself to sleep after the race, alone in bed with Lewis having flown to LA that night.

So, yeah. Things are bad. And everyone can tell, except, it seems, for the one person who George needs right now. Who also happens to be on the other side of the world.

George reaches for his phone. It takes everything in him to dial Lewis' number, his brain telling him that Lewis doesn't care and that he's bothering him for no reason. But when Lewis answers, it's all worth it.

"George!" Lewis never says hello, always jumps right into a conversation with whoever is calling him, "Baby, what are you doing awake? Isn't it like 4 in the morning at home?"

"Yeah," George breathes out, quiet and breathy, trying to hold in the wave of emotions drowning his body.

"Oh, hun," George can hear commotion in the background. There's shuffling and Lewis adds, "just let me go outside and then I'm all yours."

George is so so tired and he just can't fight it anymore. He starts to cry, ugly, sobbing sounds wracking his body. He hears Lewis take a quick breath and a door slam and then quiet.

"Okay, Georgie. I'm all yours now," Lewis' soothing voice filters through the phone, "What's going on?"

The dam breaks and it all comes out. George starts talking and he can't stop. Every single thing he's been ruminating over for weeks spills from his mouth. Lewis murmurs affirmations, small sounds to let George know he's listening but he doesn't interrupt until George is gasping for breath and there's nothing left in his brain.

"Oh, baby," Lewis says after a beat, and George's empty mind lets the sound of his boyfriend's voice bleed through the post-panic haze. "George, I'm sorry, I should have been there."

"No, you're busy, it's okay." George deflects when all he really wants to say is, yes, please, come home, I need you.

"That's not an excuse," Lewis sighs, "You should be my top priority."

"I don't need to be-"

"Yes, you do. Don't say that."

George can picture Lewis running a hand through his braids. He always does that when he thinks he's done something wrong.

The sound on the other end of the phone changes and George can tell that Lewis has put him on speaker phone. The sounds of the busy LA streets fill George's ears and he closes his eyes, imagining what it would be like to be there right now. To be with Lewis.

"George, you still there?" The sound cuts again and it's just Lewis' soothing voice, the lilting British accent that's different from George's own but still feels like home.

"Yeah, sorry." George opens his eyes.

"Hush baby, no need to be sorry. Look, I just googled and there's a flight leaving Heathrow for LA at 2 PM your time. Should I book it?"

"Wait, Los Angeles?" George's brain is fuzzy with anxiety exhaustion.

"Yeah," Lewis replies, "I can't come back to the UK before the race in Austin, but you could come here early?"

"You want me to come?"

"Of course."

George's brain helpfully supplies all of the reasons he shouldn't go to LA: the time change, sim training, what if the fans find out, what if Toto is angry with him, what if the plane crashes...

"George." Lewis breaks through the voices in his head, "I know you're overthinking this right now."

It brings a small smile to his face, the way that Lewis knows him so well.

"We can deal with whatever happens, together. Just- just please come, I need you."

And that's enough to silence every single thought in George's brain.

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow."

He can feel Lewis' grin through the phone.

This is a long ass question so apologies in advance lol. First of all, your instagram chart is very interesting, thank you for making it. A couple things I found interesting were the fact that the redbull boys don’t follow each other and that bottas only follows his teammate, his ex teammate and stroll (?? So random haha). Is there anything that you find particularly interesting?Secondly, I’ve thought about what you said about lewis being in antartica and while I see your point I think that saying he doesn’t walk the walk is kind of diminishing of all the actual work he’s done in regards to climate activism. And btw I don’t want to sound like I’m excusing him in this case because while I don’t know the specifics of his trip I do know that it’s an ecosystem that needs to be preserved, but at the same time I do think he does a lot of what he speaks of. He still fucks up from time to time of course, almost everyone I saw was criticising him for it though. This is not meant to be an attack towards you btw I just thought it was an interesting discussion to have.

SO iirc Lance Stroll and Valtteri Bottas were set to be teammates at Williams before Nico Rosberg retired and Mercedes gave Bottas the nod.

There isn't really anything I'm shocked by. Except that George is maybe slacking a bit in following the newbie/returners.

I'm not trying to diminish what he's done but truth be told, when I say walk the walk, I'm not talking about Lewis forgetting to recycle something -- I'm talking about the fact that he went to a fairly untouched and fragile ecosystem on a ritzy vacation with other rich people. And maybe he did some eco-preservation or something but it did not appear that way on social media.

And like sure -- he does a lot of what he speaks of but that doesn't erase the damage that this trip probably caused the ecosystem? I don't expect people to be perfect but when environmentalism is part of your platform, I don't think taking a vacation to Antarctica is appropriate.

Ultimately, the Antarctica vacation is just a good reminder that Lewis Hamilton is a very rich man who is generally out of touch with reality.
