Why would she want to be a captain?? I think in that case 'making captain' is jus#shorthand for 'we finally accept you into structured society and you're no longer an outcast' which I do NOT like#also Tuvok's a captain???? Why???? Nothing about Tuvok screams captain material or that he'd even WANT to be a captain#I imagine him being chief of security or a professor (or both) until retiring - MAYBE a first officer#OH same with Janeway only she would HATE being an admiral and loves being captain#like next they're gonna tell me that B'Elanna Torres is a starfleet captain* - NO ! she is an ENGINEER!#Sorry I can't get over how bad Tuvok would be as a captain - he's not suited for it and does NOT seem interested#*so that we can all go 'oh yay I accept this as shorthand for the federation accepts her' - HEY#if the only thing you can think of to show that a character has achieved true happiness & respect & peace is becoming a 'respectable' rank#in the future pseudo not-military: maybe think about that more deeply

this is so funny to me actually bcuz this is 100% how i talk abt my characters ages. i know what YEAR they were born and i know what rheir ages are supposed to be at the start of the story but i dont actually know when it takes place?? im really bad at math. There was a moment where rainbow was supposed to be 23 and i somehow accidentally made her 17 lmfao
#theoretically it would take place in 2021 bcuz thats when i created my object ocs but the more time passes#the weirder it feels to have it take place years in the past#i considered moving up their birthdays by a few years but like. idk i like their birthdays theyre cute :3#bubblegum is SUPPOSED TO BE 15 and she was born july 2007#watermelon is supposed to be 7 and he was born june 2014#etc etc#starr is 27 and she was born september uhhh 1995 or 1997 i actually dont remember. whichever one makes sense#also that would mean building block was born in 2020 and since she's always gonna be a baby the furhter away we get#it means that she wouldnt have even been born when the story is actually supposed to take place. Like#i know their birthdays and their ages and what year they were born everybody else has to do the math#to figure out wtf is going on because I DONT KNOW#also that means that building block would be a pandemic baby lmao 😭#what was rhe vibe in nigeria in august 2020 during the pandemic. well i say that like it even happened in their universe#which there really isnt any reason for that to be true#it isnt historically important to mention like..... world war two or slavery or whatever. fucking obviously. in the context of objects#it gets messy so its better to just Not#also the months the characters were born really fuck me up bcuz jayden was born in late december#so for most of the first year that they met he would be.... younger than he actually is being born in 2003#but since building's block birthday and exact age is the most important timeline-wise#and she was born august 14th 2020 and she's seven months old when they first meet#then it canonically would take place in march 2021 which was my original intention#bcuz that is the actual date that i first created my object ocs#ANYWAY. boring character age ramblings#but its hard to keep track of so i dont even blame the author!!!! birthdays are weird and hard to keep up w/#when you dont know exactly when your story is supposed to take place#assuming its in a normal-ish world im sure fantasy ocs dont have this problem#txt#object ocs

IT DOES NOT.#anyway today i went to spotlight cause i was sad cause i got the result for my 35% assignment i really struggled with. 32.5%. failure.#and at spotlight i made the foolish error of buying without knowing price. but like who makes a book a normal softcover crochet pattern boo#$55?! anyway it's a lovely book and am excited to try a few of teh patterns but the guilt is eating me alive#and also im super stressed about the assignment i have to turn in on thursday and haven't started#anyway i was literally four and a half hours away from being seven days clean#and i am just so sad right now#and i reopened one of the scars on my wrist too while on shift this morning so that's fun#not badly but it's just gonna mean it scars even more isn't it because of course#i was feeling incredibly awful for some reason i can't even remember and i kinda clawed up my arms. and no i don't count that as#breaking my streak bc it didn't cause much damage#i just. placement is so wonderful but life is so so hard#i don't know i want a hug and the assignment done and everything bad unmade#and the scars i have to look at every day on placement gone.#i want to talk to s but i haven't responded to her last message and i don't know how to respond but i need to respond to that#:((#honestly actually i think i want to talk to aunty. friend's mum. in person. and get a hug. i want a hug.#im just. i love being surprised by gayness in media. that moment when "damn this is kind of gay, probably unintentional though" gives way to the sheer delight of "holy shit, i was right??" is just unmatched. obviously i'm thankful that i can now be directed towards things that contain queer content without worrying that i'm about to be baited, but they really should invent a word for the specific feeling of vindication that you get when an otherwise very straight book or movie or TV show suddenly clotheslines you with unprecedented homosexuality. this isn't about the supernatural finale, but i guess it could be.

any chance we'll get an update to the first step of kintsugi soon?
To be entirely honest I have no idea.
It’s not abandoned, to be clear, and it’s going to be finished. I just haven’t cared all that much about marvel in a hot minute, and writings like pulling fingernails when I’m not interested in the material. I’ve also noticed that it tends to make for some of my more poorly written chapters.
That being said, hyperfixation happens on the turn of a dime for me. It could be a week; it could be a month. I don’t really know. It will come though! I really love kintsugi and have no intentions of abandoning it.
#I do have to reread it before I update too#i change my style based on who’s narrating and that’s one of the reasons why updates fall off when I lose interest#it’s hard to maintain the characters inner voice#overall fanfiction is my ‘fun’ writing where I let myself cut corners and experiment so I am just very unserious about it overall#for my original works I make myself stick to projects a bit more and build writing stamina but im kinda here for a good time#I have decided to make myself finish up more works before I succumb to any new ones tho#tho those are probably gonna be toy rosaries and pez dispenser debris#that’s not to say that kintsugi or nhthcth will be neglected they’re just so much longer than the other two#my nhthcth are very long suffering they know that I will disappear into anime bog and return six months later with like seven updates#and there’s no in between#I am how I am

I use a lot of different things ! I do everything on my phone so it’s all apps teehee. Procreate for all the art drawing (lots of saving parts of shots as transparent pngs), basic picture to video editing on inshot, capcut and cutecut for like the movement and the little bouncey jolts I forget what the term for that is :)
God forbid I delete any picture and everything comes crumbling down 💀
