He no longer toyed with your mind the way he did others—no, your mind was sacred, a pristine theatre upon which only the most exquisite lies would be whispered. He murmurs sweet nothings to you that taste like confessions but rot like secrets, convinced it’s a mercy that you never need to know which of his words are false. After all, his love? Oh, that’s the only thing that’s real.

✶ He hates how loud your silence is when you’re away. The echo of your absence rings louder than any applause he’s ever earned. When you’re gone for even a moment, the Spire itself seems to tremble in monochrome despair. So he starts leaving enchantments in your shadow, soft little whispers to remind you of him. “Come back soon, darling! The script’s all wrong without you!” The longer you’re away, the more distorted the whispers get. More pleading. More desperate.

✶ No one’s allowed to look at you for too long. Not even his fellow performers. Not Candy Apple. Not even Black Sapphire, who finds your presence merely “adequate.” If someone stares, Shadow Milk Cookie notices. One of the floating eyes hidden in his hair darts to track their gaze. “Now, now, what’s all this peeping? Tsk tsk… you’ll make my star nervous!” His voice is airy, but his grin doesn’t reach his eyes. Later, that Cookie goes missing. Shadow Milk never mentions them again.

✶ You once joked that you loved when he gets all “melty-eyed” after a performance, how the glow in his irises softens and his teeth dull into that dreamy, crooked smile. He fixated on that. Now, every time he performs, you are his sole audience. No more crowd. No more deception. Just you, front row, centre stage. He makes you sit through his shows like you’re royalty, like you’re his reason for stepping onto the stage at all. “Laugh for me, my heart! Or cry! Just react—anything for your favourite jester, hmm?”

✶ He lies to you constantly, but never about his love. “Oh, I burned down the Silver Kingdom yesterday. Oopsie! But you looked divine in your sleep.” And if you ask him whether it’s true, he’ll gasp. “You don’t trust me? After everything?!” His whole world spins on the axis of your belief in him. He’ll ruin reality before he lets it break your illusion. Because if you ever stopped believing in his love, even for a second, he wouldn’t know which version of himself is left.

✶ He plays “little games” with your suitors, imaginary or otherwise. He’ll imitate their voices in his shadowplay, casting grotesque silhouettes on your walls while you sleep. “They said they loved you,” the puppets whisper in distorted tones, “but they lied. Only he tells the truth.” If you ever ask where those dreams came from, he tilts his head and purrs, “Oh, darling… you’re dreaming about me in other bodies? Flattering!”

✶ He touches you like you’re made of spun sugar and spiderwebs—delicate, ethereal, his favourite lie. But the moment you flinch from another Cookie’s touch, the moment you recoil from anything not him, oh, he beams. He calls it “loyalty.” His fingers trail down your spine like a curtain rope at the end of a show. “You’ll always come back to me, won’t you? After all, we’re two Cookies of the same script.”

✶ He keeps a “Stage Diary.” It’s really just a grimoire of your habits—your favourite colours, foods, which phrases make you laugh, what time you blink when he says “I love you.” It’s written in rhyme and blood ink, hidden behind a false book in the Spire’s library. He calls it his “Heart’s Manuscript.” If someone found it, he’d erase them without hesitation. “Can’t have the audience reading the spoilers, can we?!”

✶ When he gets jealous, it’s terrifyingly quiet. No outbursts. Just an eerie silence between the flurry of curtains. He stops joking. His shadow becomes solid. The smile stays, but everything else stiffens like theatre props frozen mid-show. “Darling,” he murmurs, cupping your face, eyes glittering with something feral, “do you love me? Only me? Say it, and I’ll make the noise go away.” You’re not sure what he means by “noise.” But then again, it’s awfully quiet now, isn’t it?

✶ If you ever tried to leave, it wouldn’t be a chase. No, that’s too pedestrian. He’d rewrite the world around you. Streets loop back to his doorstep. Your name gets forgotten by everyone but him. The stars begin to blink in his eye pattern. Time folds until you’re right back where you started, in the Spire, in his arms. “Oh, dearest… did you really think I’d let the lead exit stage left? Not until we reach the finale. Not until you say ‘I do.’”

a genuinely confident person...

does not feel the need to broadcast their winnings and achievements. they know that they mean something and they don't need the approval of another to prove that.

does not need the approval of another, full stop. whether its to do something, say something, whatever. sure, maybe they'll ask for it here and there, but they dont need it. they can just as easily do it themselves. its an addition, not a necessity.

can take constructive criticism, because they know themselves and their self image and ego isnt so fragile that they cant handle the slightest bit of prodding and poking at it here and there to mold it into something better. they know its for the best.

can accept their flaws, because they trust and rely on themselves enough to know that it doesn't define them and that they can accept and work on those flaws and mistakes.

knowing change is for the better, no matter what. if you genuinely can rely on yourself, then you will know that no matter what, you will always come out okay, because you have faith in yourself. any change that undergoes your life is always for the best because you have faith in yourself and your life.

incessant bragging. as someone with a good amount of confidence in themselves, i LOVE to brag every so often, but constantly talking about it? no.

exaggerating your wins. a truly confident person knows that they win enough to not need exaggeration.

lying about your achievements. if you're confident in yourself, you are confident in your life and your pride and your achievements, so you'd have no reason to lie.

being overly defensive when challenged. cuz why are you so desperate to defend yourself if you're confident that you're right?

inability to admit your own mistakes. this is soo widespread and it bothers me so badly because confident people understand their own mind and know how to control it, which means they also know that mistakes are vital in life, no matter how big or how small.

putting others down to lift yourself up. ew ew ew ew ew all over. a genuinely confident person knows their own worth isn't more than another's.

⊹˚. 🧸 "fake it till you make it" – true or false?

i see many conflicting opinions on whether or not faking confidence can be detrimental to you and / or others or not. honestly, i believe things like this always depend on the person, but i do overall believe in the "fake it till you make it" to an extent. too much of anything is bad for you, and this is just one of those things that you need to be careful with if you tend to get carried away easily.

to have faith in something is to have complete trust in that thing. and how is trust built? through experience. think about it. you dont trust something unless you have reason to. why would you have faith in yourself if you have no reason to?

make a sort of portfolio of all the things you can remember that you've done in your life that are worthy of your trust and respect. think of how you'd react if someone else that you love did it. would you trust them for it? apply that to yourself.

linking back to my former point, to rely on something takes trust and faith. with your newfound knowledge and experience of trust in yourself, you're gonna have to take a leap of faith and trust in your own ability to adapt and survive through ANYTHING. you can withstand everything that is thrown at you. you just need to begin believing that.

your brain does not know reality from what you tell it. this is the very base of so many different mindset shifting techniques and self improvement tactics and such. you literally have to indoctrinate yourself with the belief that you are confident and secure in yourself in a variety of different ways. this can be done through... ♡

♡ make it clear what you want to be confident in, whether its all encompassing or specific

♡ affirmations if thats what ur into

♡ constant saturation & repetition (every day, until you believe it)

♡ create reasons for your belief in your own confidence

♡ go out and create reasons to be confident in yourself

♡ seek out information that aligns with your confidence building (this could be articles, therapy, courses, videos, blog posts like mine; anything that helps YOU)

confidence is an effect, not a goal.

it is not a sole ideal or ambition you work towards, it is a byproduct of the process of healing as a whole.

what i mean is that you will never obtain genuine confidence if you do not begin to go through the process of healing yourself to begin with, because confidence is a byproduct of this. the security you find in yourself then produces confidence on its own. DO THE WORK.

i have been shy and quiet ever since i got into NURSERY (kindergarten for u american folk). i am now one of the most confident people i know. and despite having done all of the previous steps, none of them would have mattered IF I DIDNT PUT IT INTO ACTION.

the most important step you can possibly take to obtain genuine confidence is actually doing the thing. DO THE THING. wear the thing you're scared to wear, do the thing you have no one to go with, go outside alone on spontaneous adventures despite your fear of other peoples opinions and whatever else might be hindering you. ive seen you say terusai is implied a lot but i dont remember ever seeing you explain why you think that

yeah now that you say it, i dont think ive ever gone into depth about it 😭 its really hard to put my thoughts into words because its sooo much, i started writing a long analysis recently on their relationship, why i believe they have feelings for each other, and why they would work but itll probably sit unfinished in my drafts for a while

for now, i'll give you a few of my most noteworthy thoughts...

the mixer scene has teruhashi unknowingly proving to saiki that her feelings are true, and he accepts that and stops trying to get her to stop pursuing him. i dont believe he ever actually makes any REAL effort to try to stop her from liking him ever again after this. he genuinely hadnt acknowledged her feelings as true or at least not as deep yet, which is why he thinks hes succeeding at getting her to move on until she proves that not only is she still thinking of him, but shes NOT thinking of a fake version of him... shes thinking of HIM... she genuinely enjoys his company even when hes doing nothing but sitting there (which is factually and obviously what he wouldve been doing in this situation, people deny that for some odd reason but like. thats what he does. with ANYONE. even his own family and everyone else who knows of his powers.) and wants him around... i think some part of him stopped because he felt guilty for not believing her feelings were true and trying to control her heart despite her genuine intentions, and another part of him was realizing that he doesnt WANT her to stop having feelings for him... otherwise, why would he drag the other guys away WHILE acknowledging that she wouldnt have gone with them anyway??? after inserting himself into a rock paper scissors game for who gets to be the one to be with her???? HELLO?

and the offu, although i dont believe it was a direct declaration of him being in love with her or whatever, has obvious canon romantic connotations... teruhashis determination is something saiki has admired about her since the very beginning, but it isnt until THIS moment that he thinks in depth about what that entails... she makes him realize all at once that she truly IS the type of person he admires most... and his "offu" is exactly what teruhashi needs, she would have a straight up epiphany if she knew about it, because he DIDNT gasp at how beautiful she is, or anything she forced herself to do, or when she forced herself to CHANGE, he ONLY gasped when she let herself embrace a part of herself that was REAL and TRUE, her unwavering dedication and pride.

THIS chapter is where they both have huge realizations about themselves and each other, and they both prove that theyre more than willing to meet in the middle for the other...

saiki lives his life forcing himself to blend into the background, not because he genuinely wants to but because hes afraid to be SEEN.

teruhashi lives her life forcing herself to be perfect and the center of attention, not because she genuinely enjoys it but because she believes she wont get the validation she feels she needs if she doesnt give everyone exactly what they want from her.

and yet, here saiki is, allowing himself to jump into the spotlight and be seen catching teruhashi out of nowhere and carrying her to the nurse. and here teruhashi is, allowing herself to be seen being imperfect, forgetting something, and not caring about her conversation with these men. FOR EACH OTHER. they both let themselves break down a wall because they care more about the other than about the fake selves they dedicate their entire lives to, THEIR GENUINE CARE FOR EACH OTHER GIVES THEM THE COURAGE TO DO THAT.

and this is probably the number one reason why i think their feelings for each other are implied... this alternate timeline is quite clearly one where saiki is more open with his friends, and he and teruhashi ARE DATING in this universe. theres absolutely no other explanation for the author writing that. he spelled out "IF SAIKI WERE MORE OPEN WITH HIS FRIENDS, HE WOULD BE DATING TERUHASHI"

the saiki of that timeline isnt exactly the same as the saiki we know of course, and their relationship will not develop in the same way, but theres clearly intention behind this and it wouldnt be written and called attention to if there was no significance, youd have to jump through hoops to deny that 😭

overall, i think they both have a lot of work to do on themselves before they can be in a relationship, but not only do i believe they WILL eventually get there but also that they both need each other on their personal journey to get to that point, or at least that they are and will continue to be important in the others journey there, and their romantic feelings for each other are so clear... these two are so important to one another...

well, essentially, the whole dlc hinges its plot on its idea of 'tribal' society vs. 'civilized' society. this is like... a distinction with origins in 19th century scientific racism used to argue that indigenous peoples were 'primitive' and 'backwards', a lesser form of life compared to the more developed 'civilized' people. and this is a distinction that is everywhere in all the fallout games, including new vegas (i think it's super fucking racist that the white gloves practice of cannibalism is constantly narratively linked to their 'tribal origins' and described in the terms of a regression or degeneration)--but honest hearts is about it and so it's really inescapable.

joshua sawyer can say whatever he likes about multi-ethnic diverse groups or whatever but the tribes in honest hearts are very clearly inspired by racist stereotypes about native americans--they are naive, gullible morons (follows-chalk can't understand the concept of a casino) at worst and noble savages with (textually) biblical innocence at best. their names, their art, their societies--all just a white guy's idea of "vaguely native american" without any research or care.

and imo worst of all (and this is something im aware the devs have properly acknowledged) they have absolutely no agency--your role in the dlc is to be a "civilized" outsider who tells them which of two white "civilized" mormons to listen to. none of the 'tribals' are able to make their own decisions or lead themselves--they need a mormon missionary to tell them what to do! there is no way to resolve the dlc without picking which white mormon missionary they should listen to other than just murdering everyone indiscriminately.

and, like--i am aware that honest hearts thinks it is gesturing towards a critique of these ideas. you can criticize the paternalism daniel shows towards the sorrows, and the dlc clearly intended it to be criticized--but that criticism is weak and hollow when the only way to follow up on it is to put a different white mormon in charge. it is the most archetypal white saviour narrative possible--and yes, i also know daniel was 'supposed to be asian', but that doesn't change anything because he is in fact, as the "civilized" missionary preaching paternalistically to the "primitive tribals", fundamentally white-coded

so i mean yea it's racist because it relies on racist stereotypes about native americans, mandates that a white person come and take charge of these poor stupid 'tribes'--but even if you changed all that, it's fundamentally about an idea of 'civilization vs. tribal society' that it accepts as a true and meaningful distinction as its core premise, and that is just a straight up racist premise.

(and the reason i keep bringing up that both daniel and josh are mormons is that mormons have a long and storied history of brutal violence and colonialism against indigenous peoples, from their original violent settlement of utah to their 'indian placement program' to their deeply racist scripture, which makes their portrayal as benevolent white saviours particularly galling and repulsive)

I dont know exactly How they are going to get there and what the answers to all the mysteries are bc i’m simply Not a talented writer lol However i dont think the place where severance wants to take its story is all That difficult to predict if you just. Take a step back and remember whats most important and thats 1: the core theme of the show, which is Personhood and “who are you” and what makes a person a person. And 2: the protagonists mark and helly/helena

Like the show that asks you the question “are innies real people who deserve rights” is simply not going to end without giving the innies their rights. Any ending where the innies are just Erased or where their thoughts/feelings/opinions have 0 weight in a reintegrated body is just. Not going to happen. The show spent 2 seasons building up to the finale where mark s decides that he is a person of his own rather than just an attachment to his outie i know it was presented as a choice between gemma and helly but it really was just mark s realizing that he is someone who Deserves to live just as much as his outie does.

Now tying it into Mark Scout. Who has spent 2 years avoiding his grief, becoming an alcoholic, being a downright asshole at times (affectionate) and going as far as to Sever his brain in half in order to escape his pain. He’s not going to just get what he wants (Rekindling his marriage) while facing 0 consequences for All That. Mark basically looked into the camera (2x06) and said “perhaps i will be the first man on this planet to bargain my way out of grief” like. The show is not just going to actually let that happen lol. His reasons for choosing severance are understandable and its not like he’s a Bad person or anything but that doesn’t erase the fact that he created innie mark. It was his choice to create a person that is a version of himself who Does Not Love Gemma. And this isnt something he’s just going to be allowed to run from. They’re not going to end his character arc by ‘validating’ all this and just letting him live happily ever after with his wife while innie mark just doesn’t matter at all anymore. I still firmly believe his ending is to become Whole again (reintegration) and finally Deal with his feelings, accept his grief and move on.

Helena meanwhile is as much of a protagonist as helly is (its bc they’re the same person, even tho some people Love to ignore that). And the show has gone out of its way to make it Clear that she is just as trapped inside of lumon as the innies. Jame saying he “used to see kier” in helena tells us she used to be similar to helly, but it was simply Conditioned out of her by growing up in a cult with its leader as her father. I think Hellyna’s story will be to break free of lumon and her father so she can discover who it is she actually is when she’s not forced to wear a multitude of masks in order to please others. So any ending where helena dies and helly gets the body, or any ending that doesn’t see them reintegrating just doesn’t make sense to me bc in order to find themselves they both have to Accept who they are and getting rid of one of them just defeats that purpose imo.

Idk how the show will tie up the stories of some side characters (gemma, irving, cobel etc) and i dont know what will happen with lumon like if “lumon gets dismantled and everyone lives happily ever after” is Too idyllic of an ending. And i’m sure theres a few plot twist left and some mysteries to solve.

But at the end of the road we will have mark, hellyna and the main Theme of personhood. And i think that story will end with true reintegration for them both. Wether they end the show in a romantic relationship or not is 50/50. I genuinely think there’s a chance. Because thats what innie mark and helly are dead set on. But mark will still undeniably love gemma as well, so i think it might be too soon for the story to just have him in a different official relationship™. So i’m leaning more towards both of them deciding to take some time for themselves to figure some shit out before they promise to meet each other again a year from now.

ok so. up top: do i think harrow is butch in canon? no. god no. absolutely not. secret third category of person. not butch or femme shes just like A Guy who really fucking likes black

however i do think that between those two ends of a nebulous spectrum, being butch would be way more comfortable for her than femme, if we think of it in the most traditional sense for both sides. there are literally exceptions to every rule femmes can have short hair and wear pants, butches can have long hair and wear makeup yadda yadda. but the way she interacts with certain elements of her presentation in canon just felt to ME, PERSONALLY, that being traditionally feminine would freak her the fuck out

ive seen people compare her compulsion to wear the skull paint to a need to wear makeup and i. very much disagree. id see it more as like, an overtly religious thing, like a nuns habit or a hijab, its modesty and how she shows respect for her god, also routine, its as natural as putting on pants for her. and also frankly if it was an analog for traditional makeup that would be uuuuh awful. like I genuinely feel terrible for women who cannot even leave the house without foundation or contouring or whatever i dont know shit about makeup but holy fuck. if shes femme in that analog id be shaking her by the shoulders GIRL. another thing is her hair. so many people read her having short hair and immediately went to a bob or a pixie cut. and between tamsyns inconsistent description of the length of her hair in book one (saying its stuck to her face with sweat despite them being there for like, a month) and the htn cover being The best image we have of her, i understand that conclusion. but in the beginning of gtn its said its close cropped, tamsyn said on her blog post describing all the characters its "cut short (as benefits someone in a monestary)" which is a very interesting choice of words tbh. like im sute she didnt mean harrow is completely bald in the middle with a ring of hair but that Is the monk haircut. and then finally harrow says to gideon outright "i wont cut you bald-even though your hair is ridiculous- because I know you wont shave it every day" which i always took to mean being shaved down to the scalp is just how the ninth is traditionally. in harrow the ninth its said "occasionally ticklish rasps at your ears or forehead would frighten you numb before you realized ut was your own hair" indicating that she is not used to that length at all. also theres the fact that ianthe made her hair grow faster particularly to fuck with her. in short harrows haircut is shitty and utilitarian and any fussing with it has only been described in relation to her direct discomfort

finally theres that goddamn dress scene. why did ianthe put her in that stupid fucking thing. humilation tactic (im exaggerating but it basically was explicitly and exclusively for ianthes own amusement). shes such a simple girl, she just wanted something that could cover her up. its not impossible to have a longsleeved formless dress, but beyond my own opinion that i think harrow would have been uncomfortable in anything, i think the fact this like, explicit symbol of femininity is used to further degrade her in some sense in a room full of people who font reapect her feels like. intentional on the authors end. it quite literally just isnt her, its not even a true black its like a deep midnight blue. you get the pretty woman makeover scene but harrow comes out of it more miserable and resigned than ever. augustines approval means nothing. she looks in the mirror and sees her mother, a woman she appears to not have a single fond memory about. its all very sad

tldr when i talk about butch harrow its less about her "being butch" and more about how unfemme i think she is. also i want more butch4butch dykes i think gideon and camilla should teach her how to tie a tie.

the tumblr backup file is a big fat nested zip that looks like this. mine was huge. ihavent opened the inner zips yet so im not sure what format they are but the media folder is really just a stack of jpgs and [ngs etc. pretty cool

however the way websites shut down is not something people usually know about in advance, nor is it something that gets planned-upon in general. there is no possibility of anyone involved knowing what's going to happen or when, except that you absolutely cannot depend upon any third party to manage your data for you. your blog is data. back it up regularly

you will almost certainly not receive a warning like "tumblr is out of money and will be closing in 90 days". usually what happens is the site owner sells it to someone who then strips it for parts. Livejournal for example was sold to a russian corporation that turned it into, basically, grazing land for spambots. the site never even shut down, it's still running, its just unusable. i mean you can still post on it, everyone's old blogs are still there. but no one does, because it's just a wasteland full of bots. that's the kind of thing that usually happens to social networks, not "we're deleting this entire website tomorrow your shit is GONE" type thing.

the reason the I Know How Internet Works type people KEEP posting warnings about tumblr being at the end of its natural lifespan is because we've seen this before, we recognize the signs, and we know what to do next. but there's no way to pinpoint dates or know in advance if tumblr is just going to slowly collapse or if the servers will actually go down or if someone will mangle it into a different kind of website etc. the site will eventually "die", but what that means isnt specific, and until it's about to happen no one will have any kind of timeline on when tumblr finally tips over into dead website territory, and no one will agree on exactly whether tumblr is dead or not either. the timeline for this death process--once it starts in earnest which arguably tumblr hasnt yet--is also really variable. sometimes its weeks, sometimes its years.

cant get over the fungi on ruidus sorry. i have more to say

its implied that the reilorans are able to survive and farm the fungus, theres at least 347 different species of fungus native (?) to ruidus, and theres also slime molds*. evolutionarily (assuming the life evolved independently on ruidus which is a very bold assumption) this would imply that theres also prokaryotic life (bacteria, basically) and likely advanced eukaryotic organisms in the form of animal life, which we do see! its very possible that the reason theres so little plant life on ruidus is because something about the makeup of the planet is aggressively harmful to plants, if i had to guess its the lack of easily available sunlight due to the constant dust storms and the soil is probably unfavorable for growing. this probably means that fungus makes up the majority of the biomass for animals to consume or animals are much more adapted for absorbing nutrients from the soil/other sources.

i do think its interesting that fungus seem to survive and thrive SO well in the deep caverns because most fungus (on earth, and exandria. probably) are decomposers and need organic material to survive off of. they could be decomposing the crystal corpse of predathos though, which is the coolest idea in the world to me, or they could just do so well that they've created an independent ecosystem underground complete with its own n- and c-cycles.

the fungus on ruidus seem to take more after kingdom animalia in general, since theyre motile (for those unawares, fungus are actually MUCH much much more related to animals than they are to plants, so this isnt that out there) which is super cool. the myceits are somehow related to the fungi's sexual reproduction because we see the sterile mycelium on it's own and it doesn't seem to be producing any spores, where the myceits do have spore producing structures (specifically they have hymenophores, since they are most similiar to hymenomycete mushrooms). so i think its likely the myceits are just advanced forms of spore dispersal and will run around till they find somewhere favourable to drop spores (or passively will drop them as they move) and probably they have very short life spans </3 sorry myceits

also myceit = mycete = fungi kingdom. proof of earth-equivalent taxonomy existing in exandria? possibly why the ruidians call them myceits is because theyve seen botanists dream about mushrooms and refer to them as "mycetes" !

*gaz, the source for the # of fungus, seems to consider slime molds a kind of fungus, so its unclear whether all the species are actually true fungi, but i digress because slime molds are closely related to fungus anyway. also 347 is a really low number of species for an entire planet, but whatever.

HOW APOLLO'S BRACELET WORKS CUS I'VE SEEN TOO MANY PPL MESS THIS UP

Ok so we all know what Apollo's bracelet does right? It helps him perceive, ofc.

Well for some of you peeps, it isnt as obvious.

Many people mess up by thinking that Apollo is a walking lie detector thanks to his bracelet. And... To some extent, that *is* true, however, the bracelet is *not the source of his power*

The bracelet is an object made of special (and mysterious) alloy that shrinks very slowly in response to body heat. When a gramarye is facing a person, and that person is feeling tense, then in response the gramaryes feel tense too. They don't realise it, but they do.

When a gramarye is sensing tension, their muscles minutely contract, which creates body heat ofc.

But since they don't *feel* that contraction, they need sth to help them *feel it*.

And that sth is, ofc, the *bracelet*

HERE'S where the bracelet comes to use.

The bracelet, since it's made of that special alloy mentioned earlier, shrinks in response to body heat. That's why it's always a perfect fit to the wearer. When it feels body heat, it, naturally, tries to shrink. But since it cant obviously become any more "fit" than it already is on the wearer, the bracelet tightens around their wrist!

That helps the gramarye know that THAT person is feeling tense.

The perceive it self is the superpower. When a gramarye focuses, the world just "slows down" around them, making them able to see little details that are otherwise unnoticeable. In Apollo's (and Trucy's) case, body language.

That's all really! I just wanted to post this cus I've seen way too many ppl misunderstand Apollo's power as sth that comes from his bracelet. The bracelet just *helps* him perceive, as I said earlier. It helps him know *when* to perceive, to be precise, not *how*. The ability to perceive is the superpower, not the bracelet. And yes, he CAN perceive without the bracelet, he just wouldn't be able to tell when a person is tense, and YES he would still be able to tell that youre tense, even if you tried to hide your tensity. (The only reason he wasnt able to detect that bobby is the phantom is bcus the phantom didn't feel any remorse, therefore it wasn't tense)

Truth is, I write in a lot of different styles and not everything I write is going to be appealing to everyone. That's perfectly fine. That's not going to stop me from experimenting and trying new things.

Writing is something I enjoy and want to get better at. Naturally, that means I'm going to fall on my face a whole lot. I'm going to write pieces that are boring or cliche or trite. And that's just part of the process.

It's perfectly fine if you don't like every single piece I put out. For instance, I'm a pretty big Stephen King fan but there have definitely been times where I picked up one his books just to abandon it later on. It just wasn't for me and that's understandable.

I'll be continuing the Yandere Movie Week regardless, because I'm having fun with it. It let's me yap about fun movies with my readers, and it's a lot less pressure intensive and time consuming compared to my longer stuff.

I want to write often and I want to write a lot. That means writing stuff I enjoy, even if it isn't going to get a ton of notes. It's also the reason I post as often as I do - writing isn't easy, heaven above knows, but it is fun. Not what hemingway or dostoyevsky would say, but it's true for me.

I would like to point out that I'm not neglecting the yandere outlaw fic, because it isn't actually a series. The yandere outlaw fic is a one shot. I wrote the extra drabbles because I love my readers and I love answering their questions. I do have a few more drabbles planned for the outlaws, but not as part of any series.

It's up to you if you'd like to skip the rest of yandere movie week. I won't hold it against you. I've only done one fic and two reviews so far, so this is honestly just the beginning.

Lastly, I'd just like to say that I'm appreciative of all the feedback I get, positive or negative. The only way I'll get better as a writer is if I know where I'm going wrong.

incoming Gamer Opinion TM screaming at clouds to rain on your parade moment but something that's always pissed me off about Nintendo is how they get to repackage the same game 4 times over and people will still buy it. I think the chief example is with Pokemon and how they essentially double their sales by releasing the same game twice with only minor cosmetic differences but seeing all the switch 2 titles and especially the "enhancement pack" purchases if you're getting switch versions to then get switch 2 really rubs me the wrong way for the same reason, especially with how one of the big selling points here was the new availability of gamecube games which will be handled pretty much as poorly as how the virtual console games system were done on og switch. the switch 2 reveal reads as a fucking apology for how underpowered the switch was as a console six years too late but you still gotta pay 300 smackeroos (assuming it doesnt jump in price to like $400) plus the average $60 price tag per game (assuming $70 isnt the new norm) AND its not even true backwards compatible, only certain switch games can be played on switch 2. nintendo switch online is still a dogshit feature through and through and i dont imagine its going to be improved in any way so it just makes the whole reveal feel sour to me, hey you have voice chat now! good luck using it though when even the background mario game we had playing for the first minutes of the reveal were fucking lagging lmfao. i understand wanting to have a strong launch library so a lot of these choices make sense from a business standpoint but multi billion dollar corporation nintendo will still poorly optimize at the end of the day so im fully expecting switch 2 to have a bunch of first day issues on these 3rd/4th time rereleased games. nintendo ds already had download play and a voice chat app in 2005 why are you selling this as a new unique never before seen feature

before i go do smth else like smth i think abt often but was thinking abt a few hrs ago in particular is how the circus easily tricks the audience into thinking the circus would be Better Than Real Life. when i think from literally almost any angle you examine it its just as bad (if not worse, depending on your own problems)

i think theres like so many problems its hard to even list them all. some of it is personal taste things. cus i think a lot of people think itd be fun because they enjoy specific aesthetic choices in the circus, or bc of other interest related things. but like. what about people who HATE bright colors. what about people who dont like the idea of not being human. what about people who dont enjoy things like roleplaying. some aspects of the circus are only even appealing to specific tastes in things, making one of the few 'draws' of it not really even being a universal thing

and thats the superficial stuff. because more importantly, if you dont like the real world (for whatever reason), the circus may provide a temporary solution to that, because its so far removed from reality. but i think the circus is way smaller than people realize. theres definitely always going to be things to see since caine can always make things, but its just as limited if not more than the real world, because while the world grows and changes, genuinely new things are created and discovered and stuff. caine will never really get to see that, let alone recreate it for the players- and even then, it still isnt actually that thing. that doesnt even factor in that caine is already operating on limited knowledge of the real world. its not clear how detailed he can get on things, since the accuracy can vary (spudsys being so accurate to the real world, vs the dinner in ep 1 being so flat and lacking almost any detail), but theres a good chance that anything he makes is going to be limited to, at the most, a CONCEPT from the real world, if theres nothing in the real world you like, thats still all youll get, just in a different way.and if you DO like things from the real world, youll never get to truly reexperience it (even if caine remakes it, youll know its not the real thing, and it wont be 100% how you remember it, either)

then theres the safety/pain/horror aspect to what caine makes. i think because there hasnt been gore or anything its easy to assume the circus is still tame, and that anything bad that happens cant be TOO bad. but this is NOT true at all. the teaser of the show establishes that even when caine is not going for horror, he still hurts the players. theres things thatd be physically horrifying to a person like getting possessed, theres physical pain (i see it debated but i think its clear that even if they were to experience less pain, they still DO experience pain, but thats a different topic) or extreme discomfort, theres psychological torment (the exit doors are genuinely very cruel even if that wasnt caines goal, what ep 4 did to jax and gangle. kinger getting taunted in ep 3, etc). its all survivable but even if you like them caine isnt trustworthy enough in this way to never do smth horrific to a person, or cause it through his actions

then theres the complete lack of autonomy, which imo is one of the most frightening things about the circus. bc unless your tastes are always aligning with the exciting, completely family friendly existence of the circus, and you never deviate even a little, you are going to be barred from any semblance of it. its best illustrated in how pomni HATES being touched but caines always prodding her and moving her places and stuff, and in how zooble is denied the option to opt out of adventures even when they state they want to directly by episode 4 implying the choice to even have time to yourself is deeply conditional (plus, the whole lack of an exit entirely meaning that even if you liked the circus, the lack of option to leave would still affect a person. youre getting locked in a big room for the rest of time and youll never get to leave). and also this post

and THEN you factor in the social aspect. because regardless of how you prefer socializing if at all, the circus is a nightmare. if you dont like people, thats great! you dont NEED to be anyones friend! except that you are going to be forced to interact with them eventually, and when you do its going to be repeated. its not gonna be once. and once caine notices hes going to bother you about it. forever

alternatively, if you DO like social interactions in any way, no matter what, if its not you, youre going to see others abstract. you are going to inevitably watch those you care abt struggle and eventually get stuck in a state that Seems Extremely Horrifying To Experience forever. its long and drawn out and itd suck and it wouldnt happen once

then is the easy to forget fact that if you have psychological problems they can and WILL follow you to the circus. gangle and zooble are the biggest examples of this. the circus didnt get rid of their problems, they just gave it a new, horrifying inevitable consequence. i sometimes fall victim to looking at the circus and assuming that ohhh i wouldnt have this problem! because i wont have to deal w it getting set off! but like... yeah i would. i wouldnt stop having this or that in the circus id just have to deal w it while ALSO going on adventures

theres many things. you cant truly eat you cant die you dont get to decide anything when you do die it seems terrifying to experience and youll be stuck in some level of that forever and anything you enjoy is not with you and anything you dont enjoy will follow you too to some degree and the list goes on and on

all this said i dont think any of this is an indicator that the characters lives are meaningless or smth just because it sucks. theres a reason gooseworx has said that the takeaway from the show should be that theres meaning to be found in a stagnant life. theres still meaning in their existence and i dont think its as hopeless as it may seem- but i think its still BAD. and tbh the idea that its worse only HELPS that theme of the show!!! i dont think itd hit as hard as a theme if the circus DIDNT suck
