Tumblr media
I had just put my son to bed, when his tired little voice asks me something.
"Mama, is daddy coming this weekend?"
I look up from tucking him in with surprise.
"Um, I'm not sure"
I was...or I thought I was. Loki and I were together for over a decade and had our son four years ago.
Our relationship wasn't perfect, but we made it work. In spite of the long nights that consisted of screaming matches and the other going to bed angry, we would eventually talk it out and get right back to normal. Was it easy? No, but we knew that we made each other better people. Nothing in life that's worth keeping was gonna be easy.
Our main issue was him not making enough time for me and our child. I understood splitting his time between working with the Avengers and going back and forth from Asgard would take up a lot of his days, but we always got through the rough patches together.
You miss a couple dinners and forget some errands, sure, I could forgive that...but the final straw was when he'd forgotten our son's birthday.
Long after the party was over and everyone had gone home, I still sat in the living room in tears, after having had to put my own crying child to bed.
"He forgot. He really forgot", I thought to myself.
Just then, I hear the front door open and in walks Loki, making his way towards me on the couch.
"Hi, darling", he kisses my cheek.
That's when he noticed the popped balloons and confetti scattered all across the floor.
"What did I miss?"
"What did you miss?", I repeated,
Standing up.
"Loki, do you know what day it is today?"
"Friday"
I close my eyes, sighing before wiping my eyes.
"October twenty-third"
He takes a moment to think, when the realization hits him.
"Shit", he whispers to himself,
"Yeah...shit"
"(Y/N)-"
"He was so excited to blow out the candles with his dad", my voice shakes.
"I know-"
"Do you?"
Not having anything else to say for himself, he simply muttered.
"I'm sorry"
"It's not me you should be apologizing to", I say,
About to walk off, when he takes my arm.
"I'll make it up to him-"
"You always say that, but you never stick to your word. Look, I'm tired of being second place to your job, we both are. Do you even remember the last time we had dinner together? Or even tucking him in for bed?"
I could see the tears beginning to pool in his eyes. I shake my head, before pulling my arm away from him.
"Time got away from me, the team-"
"I don't care about the team! I care about us! Our family!", I yell,
Catching him off guard.
"I've stood behind you on everything and this was the one thing that I needed you to show up for. I've put up with your shit for too fucking long and I can't do it anymore. All we do nowadays is fight and I can't tolerate being taken for granted over and over again. I won't"
"What are you saying?", he whispered,
"I'm saying I'm done", I shrugged.
His gaze softened and his shoulders dropped.
"(Y/N)-"
"You need to go", I sob,
"Please, don't do this. We can talk about it, we can work things out, I promise, I will do better-", he tries pulling me into an embrace,
Only to be pushed away.
"We tried and nothing's worked, even if we go to bed now, I'll still feel the same way in the morning-"
"I don't want to leave-", he says,
Wrapping his arms around me, as I kept trying to push him off.
"Loki, go"
"I can't"
"Please, go, I can't do this again"
"I can't!", he cried,
"GO-"
"I CAN'T!", he shouts,
Slowly falling to his knees, as he held onto my legs and hid his face in my stomach.
"I can't", he wept.
My hand goes over my mouth to muffle the sounds of my sobs. I eventually pull away from him and walked back towards our once shared bedroom. It was the hardest walk of my life. Knowing I was walking away from him.
"When I wake up", I say over my shoulder,
"Don't be here"
It's been almost a year since then and it still hurts to think about. It didn't help that our anniversary was coming up either.
I often fall back into wondering if I'd done the right thing. Did I? Would I ever know?
"But, I promise I'll ask"
"Does daddy not love me anymore?"
It shattered my heart to hear him say that.
"No! Baby", I say,
Softly cupping his cheek.
"Your father loves you so so much. It's just his job that keeps him busy"
He sticks his pinky out, making me chuckle. I intertwine mine around his, after wiping away a stray tear.
"Never think for one second that we don't love you"
Just as I placed a kiss atop my son's head, I hear someone yelling outside my apartment building.
"(Y/N)!"
I recognized that voice. It was Sylvie. What was she doing here in the middle of the night?
"Mama?"
"Shhh, go to bed, baby, I'll be right back", I shushed,
Leaving the apartment and locking the door behind me. The elevator takes me all the way down to the lobby and I made my way outside.
"Sylvie-"
"What did you tell him?!"
"What? What are you talking about?"
"Don't play stupid with me, what did you tell Loki?"
"Nothing! I haven't spoken to him for weeks!"
"Horse shit"
"I haven't!"
She sighs, holding her forehead.
"Why? What happened?"
She sniffles and using her sleeve to wipe away her tears.
"Sylvie, I know we aren't friends, but you can tell me"
She scoffs, looking back at me.
"You can", I reassured.
She shakes her head, taking a seat on the curb. I let out a deep exhale, before joining her.
It was tense. I could tell she was holding something back and it only added to the anxiety that was making my stomach turn. After a few deep breaths, she finally breaks the uncomfortable silence.
"He said your name in his sleep"
I'd never felt my heart drop so fast. My eyes widen, as I turn back to her.
"What?"
"Last night. I heard him", she nodded,
"Sylvie", I exhaled,
Shutting my eyes, whilst shaking my head.
"So either that means he's been sneaking behind my back with you or-"
"He hasn't, I swear"
"...Then what I'd been suspecting is true", she muttered her breath.
My eyebrows meet in confusion, wondering what she meant by that. She finally turns to meet my gaze and in the street lamp's glow, I could make out her defeated tired eyes looking back at me.
I knew that look. I had that look not too long ago, which meant what she had to say was nothing short of painful.
"He still loves you", she wept,
Causing me to shake my head.
"No-"
"Then why?", she shrugs.
How was I possibly meant to respond to that?
"You know...whenever he tells me that he loves me, I would be so overjoyed...but for some reason, in the back of mind, I never truly believed him", she confessed,
"And then I thought to myself 'Well, why would I? She was his first love and the mother of his child. How could I ever compete with that? She's beautiful and smart and strong'. Deep down, I always knew that what we had wasn't real, as I am still fighting the ghost of you that will forever live in his memories"
I was speechless. To hear her say all of this was gut-wrenching. She didn't deserve this and I knew that.
"I am so sorry"
"You have nothing to apologize for", she says,
Getting back on her feet, as I did the same.
"Sylvie, I assure you that whatever we had was over the moment we broke up"
"Maybe...but not for him", she smiled sadly,
Giving me a tight embrace, before walking away.
I couldn't just go to bed after that. I had to talk to Loki myself. Whatever he did to us was one thing, but Sylvie didn't deserve this. I went back up stairs to get my son, not bothering to get dressed and dropped him off at my parent's house on the way to the Avengers Tower.
I submitted my personalized key pass, which allowed me inside and took the elevator all the way up to Loki's quarters. I pushed past the double doors and find him standing at the floor to ceiling windows.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?", I spit,
Walking up to him.
"I'm assuming you heard", he says,
Without looking away from the city.
"Sylvie didn't deserve that. She loved you!"
I was met with nothing but silence. All I could do was sigh in frustration.
"Why?! Why did you have to ruin another good thing for yourself?! She was perfect-"
"But she wasn't you!", he snapped,
Turning to face me.
"You of all people should know that no matter what happens, I would always choose you"
I could feel the tears gather in my eyes.
"I tried to let go, but I couldn't", his voice goes quiet,
"Despite my best efforts and even while being with someone else, all I found myself doing was wishing it was you"
I shake my head, as a lone tear made its why down my cheek.
"You should've thought about that before you took me for granted"
He cups my face, resting his forehead against mine.
"That was my greatest mistake...and I will never forgive myself for it"
"Loki-"
I couldn't stop myself from growing weak at his touch.
"I love you. This has always been true"
"I never knew what I had until I'd lost it", he added,
"You hurt me...and you hurt our son", I wept,
"And for that, I am so sorry. I will never stop regretting the things I'd done to you both and if given the chance, I'd change before it was too late, but I am begging you now. I will never forsake your hearts again, please", he pleaded.
There were so many emotions coming at me from all directions. Anger, sadness, confusion...but also a sense of solace. Solace in knowing that he had finally recognized his mistakes.
"If you'll have me...I will never hurt you or our son ever again"
"How can I be sure you mean it this time?", I questioned.
In that moment, the God of Mischief pulled away and kneeled before me, placing a hand on his heart. I couldn't help but feel a strong sense of Deja Vu.
"I meant every word", he reassured,
Taking my hand into his.
"I've lost you once. I will not make that same mistake again"
I searched deeply into his eyes and all I could find was sincerity. For the first time in a long time, I was finally sure.
"Loki"
I pulled him back onto his feet and cupped his cold face.
"I love you too...I don't think I ever stopped"
He chuckles slightly in relief.
"That's all I've ever wanted to hear", he says,
Before pulling me in by the waist and pressing his lips against mine. The kiss started off mellow and soft, but it quickly grew heated. He picks me up by my thighs and effortlessly wrapped them around his waist. He ended up
My fingers sneak into his black locks, grasping at the roots and causing a delicious groan to escape him.
Using his godly strength, he lifts me up higher into the air, now throwing my legs over his shoulders. With a flash of his magic, I was now completely naked up against the glass.
"People will see", I say out breath,
"Let them", he grinned,
"Let them envy the way I ravish your beautiful body, knowing they will never get the chance"
I could feel myself grow wetter at his comment.
"By the looks of it, you don't seem to mind either", he teases,
Before kissing the inside of my thighs, slowly making his way towards where I needed him most. He wrapped his soft lips around my bundle of nerves, making me gasp at the sensation. I was being tasted like I'd be the last thing he'd ever have. A man on death row, savoring his final meal.
"It has been to long", he mumbled against me.
"It has", I whined,
As his skilled tongue drew circles over my clit again and again, till the knot in my stomach began to tense. I missed how easily he made me melt.
My fingers snuck into his hair once more, holding on for dear life. His own rubbing up and down my slit, before slipping themselves inside and pressing against my sweet spot. I could feel him grin at the wanton cries and moans that spilled out of me.
It was more the obvious that I was already about hit my peak.
"Close already?", he teased,
Continuing his ministrations.
"I must taste your release at once. Come for me, sweet girl", he demanded.
That was all I needed to hear.
I came with a moan so loud, I was thanking my lucky stars the walls were sound-proof.
Still, coming down from the euphoric high, he lets me down gently. Firmly holding my weak frame to steady me. Once he realized it was going to take a while for my legs to calm from there incessant shaking, he picked me up and laid me down on the sofa.
"Tonight, I will make up for lost time", he mumbled against my lips.
"I will show you just how deep my everlasting devotion for you lies"
With the help of his magic once again, he causes his trousers to disappear, along with his boxers.
His hard cock aching for attention.
"Do you see what you do to me? How desperate and needy I am for you?", he growls in my ear,
Causing my skin to raise in goosebumps. He takes the tip and rubs it up my already throbbing entrance.
"I've missed this so much", he confesses,
Before thrusting into me and ripping a cry from the depth of my chest. Without giving a moment to adjust, he began pounding into me at a merciless pace.
By this time, the sun had already began to peak from the horizon and the room smelt of sex and sweat. It was now his turn to yank at the roots of my hair, exposing my bare neck for his hungry teeth.
"I will mark you and claim you as mine once more", he mumbled against my warm skin,
As he repeatedly slammed into my g-spot. It didn't take long for my next orgasm to build, as my legs were already threatening to snap close and all I could do was scream out his name again and again like a fallen prayer.
I could tell by the rhythm of his hips faltering that he wasn't far behind either.
"Meet me there, darling. Come for me", he groaned,
As we both were thrusted over the edge. He spills himself inside my clenching walls, letting his head fall back at the overwhelming pleasure. Out of breath and well-spent, he collapses on top of me and wraps his arms around my waist.
We lay in the comforting silence for a moment, till he found the strength to pull out of me and lay me atop his chest.
"Yours"
I look up at him, as he brushed away a hair stuck to my forehead.
"Always"

"For you. For all of us."
I do believe "for you" was originally intended for both of them, or even all of them. But, (spoilers,) by the end of this, my delusions win.
Tumblr media
Although I'm a shameless lokius shipper who can and will talk about them even on a first date or a job interview, I do believe there was much more going on in this scene than just a showcasing of a tragic love story. And that's not saying that wouldn't be meaningful (these types of stories are the only reason I still read fjjffj stop that's actually very sad...)
For me the story is very similar to how Luca's story ended. Hear me out, please, I'm crazy but I might not even be that crazy by the end of this.
Loki's first season and Luca both came out in June of 2021 so I might just connect them subconsciously, but the way Enrico Casarosa (director of Luca) said the movie was open to all interpretations hasn't left my mind since then. That's a huge part of making art, leaving the interpretation up to the viewer and not giving clear instructions. This way you can actually showcase such layers and depth that are much more similar to real life emotions. Because the line is blurry, no matter what. No label is clear enough to say why you love the way you do and how you do it. It's complex and beautiful.
Loki and Mobius, their relationship is beautiful because it has this complexity. I think it's worth mentioning, that what I'm about to say is a subjective interpretation, because this is my idea of love.
They did develop that friendship that articles like to highlight and we love to clown.
Tumblr media
But seriously that platonic friendship is there and it doesn't cancel out the hints of romance at all. That's why I'm also okay with the sylki kiss. Although the first time watching it, for me it felt unnecessary, I can see the significance of it happening. It's an emotional moment, them failing to recognise what they want, their unawareness of the bigger picture, and the comedy of it all, him falling in love with himself. Also... we never really talk about why Sylvie accepts the kiss and her inner conflicts? I need to think a lot more about Sylvie and her wants... but that's not gonna happen in this post, because I'm already going on, anyways... Guess what, Mobius calls this out two times.
Tumblr media
"What a incredible seismic narcissist."
Tumblr media
"It’s a complicated relationship, okay? There’ s a lot unpack when you’re basically in a relationship with yourself. They say opposites attract. No." *does that face, taking a sip of his shake💅*
It's the same of him being the only one who mentions Loki's behaviour changing. (I'm not sure if he's the only one noticing, but he's the only one who makes the choice of calling it out.) And I also love the way he says no to Loki when he asks him to trust him. Loki stays calm, and just says "watch".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is so!!! Loki has been doing this for so long, he looks kind of numb to it – this might have happened many times before and he's done explaining or calming Mobius OR he's okay with Mobius's distrust because he on the other hand trusts himself enough that he doesn't have to feel threatened to lose their bond. He knows their bond is strong enough that he doesn't have to worry when Mobius's trust fades for a moment. And the episode proves me right when in the next moment Loki gets access.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Yes!" Mobius says, grabbing Loki's arm with both his hands, anxious and relieved for a small moment!!!
And that's real trust, friendship and relationship right there.
Comfort, sacrifice and honest moments like these make me feel loved the most. You can't entirely trust someone, you can't expect love to stay the same and you can't expect that the past to just fade away, you can't forgive easily and yet you keep hoping.
Tumblr media
"That's a lot of hoping." Sylvie says.
And Loki is the key and his beautiful, beautiful character arch.
Most of these points are connected to my own experiences of friendship and the working relationships I've seen. Just like in Luca, we make mistakes, sometimes things that are hard to forgive and this is kind of the essence of being human.
Now back to Luca and the way Mobius has to touch Loki like his life depends on it. There are touchy people (and it took me some time to realise I'm one of them.) Enrico says:
“We talked about it and I mean, I think the reason probably we didn’t talk about it as much and, to a certain degree, we’re slightly surprised by the amount of people talking about romance is that we were really focusing on friendship and so pre-romance. But it is a kind of love, right? There’s a lot of hugging and it’s physical and my experience as a straight man certainly wasn’t that. The things we did talk a lot about is what is the metaphor here for being a sea monster, for being different? And some people seem to get mad that I’m not saying yes or no, but I feel like, well, this is a movie about being open to any difference.” (source)
Yes, I do recognise the worries about queerbaiting, and yes, I can only wish that wasn't the issue at Disney. But imagine for a moment, a world where this isn't the case and we didn't have to fight with tooth and nail for representation. In that case this story works perfectly as a friendship and yet it doesn't cancel out the chance of it snowballing into romance.
And then there's the last scene. This post sums it up. What I need to add to this is that most story elements are finished. Loki's Glorious Purpose ending is tragic, angsty and hurtful but it's done, finished. His friendship with both Mobius and Sylvie, tragic angsty and hurtful, still finished. What remains and what drives the audience crazy, and in need for explanation is Mobius being shown in between his lives.
I've seen a lot of people make posts about this alredy. How the show kept telling us that Mobius doesn't want to see his life on the timeline, how Loki knows and brings this up to Sylvie, but it's never further explained, really. Other than the natural conclusion that you just might not want to give up your known reality for something new. The show introduces characters who would, so it's not that everyone would hesitate.
Mobius let go of Ravonna, although it hurt him. Mobius did not remember OB, Mobius got scolded by Sylvie. Hunter B-15 (or Verity, my girl♥︎ i love you so much...) and Casey might be his good friends but we don't really see that apart from that goodbye scene. (Which by the way, hurt like hell...) The only reason left is that Mobius cannot live without Loki properly and the last damn scene proves. this. to. be. the. case!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Let time pass."
I... I love movies man...
(end notes:
– I almost started writing a new paragraph about how this parallels to Spiderverse but let's just forget about that, because that's a box I don't want to open right now, because I will feel ✨dumb✨
– In the Hungarian dubbing he says "For you, Sylvie" and that perfectly sums up this shithole of a country... They did not put Sylvie into the subs though, a win is a win i guess...)

Okay I finally watched the episode and I have several feelings so here we go...
If you haven't watched the show, stop reading. (Though I hope you have blocked the spoilers tag, if not it's your own fault..don't come at me)
Tumblr media
Am I dying every second thinking about him being alone there for eternity? Obviously 😭
But am i stupid or delusional enough to think he won't make a comeback in the next Avengers movie? No.
I don't think those people can fight kang without loki, they would at some point need his help because he's literally the most powerful god out there now.
Coming back to the episode there's not much I cared about, I probably wouldn't have blinked if ob, b15 or Casey would have died..didn't care about them at all if I was being honest and it's not the character's fault.
As much I hated the ship (because god forbid two male characters are friends in any show these days because they have to be lovers otherwise it's homophobia.. remember when bromance existed? Good times)
Mobius had a good character development that began in season 5 and continued this season unlike Sylvie who started as such a badly written selfish character that the only way they could have fixed it this season was to completely sideline her, which thankfully they did. The smirk and smile at the end even knowing that she may never get to see Loki again? (Yeah just die already).
Hopefully I'll never have to see her again.
Coming back to Loki (my precious baby love) i know his arc ended on a bittersweet note (that smile at the end just warmed my heart like never before) and it's more bitter for me than sweet because I can't handle the thought of him being so lonely because this is not what he wanted or deserved but then I think about Loki who died via strangulation and I'm like fuck everything, this is definitely much better than that ending.
Personally I think with time he's going to grow and learn to control this new power (or he could just clone himself and use him in a way? Idk Marvel can do anything) but I can feel it in my bones that this is not the end of him (unless ofcourse Tom is done with him and won't return for future projects)
That being said, Loki is alive and sure he is alone at the moment but he's a hero now, he has more than redeemed himself and he can finally forgive himself for everything that he didn't do right, perhaps this is what he needed to find that sense of purpose he has been looking for all his life. Hopefully he'd see himself as the god that he always was.
A man that was always ridiculed for his selfishness and narcissism chose to save the multiverse by sacrificing his freedom, by giving up his own free will. He chose everything he didn't want, a throne and what seemed like eternal solitude (but hopefully not)..a man of actions indeed. His arc reminds me of Tony in a way and that's beautiful.
Wherever you go, it's just death, destruction, the literal ends of worlds!
Uhhhhhuh? Look what my boy just did for the whole fucking multiverse.
I'm just trying to see the silver lining here that he's alive and he's the moment..he's everything, he literally became the most powerful being to ever exist in mcu and that gives me hope for him…he'd come back. Kang's arc started with him and they'd need him when the time comes. If not I got my fanfiction powers 🤣 (He deserves to find the sort of love that would stay by his side even if he's all that person would ever get)
Thank God they changed the writers this season and fixed somewhat of the mess they had made of this majestic, ethereal god last time.
Overall yeah my heart is breaking for him but look at him..he's the moment, he's the king of the multiverse, he's everything.

Portal to My Heart (Book 3) Chapter Four
Loki x Reader
Chapter Four: In a New Role
Summary: (Y/N) and Loki track down a hunter.
(Y/N) sighed as she slid off her jacket behind a screen to change. “We don’t even know if Sylvie is in 1977 or even on that branch.”
“It’s the only lead we have since X-5 was one of the men going after her with Dox,” said Loki, changing on the other side into a suit. They needed to blend in while tracking X-5.
“Do you think we’re going to find her?” asked (Y/N), pulling on the blue dress and straightening the gloves on her arms.
“We have to. She is clearly still important. Whenever we slipped to, she was looking for us,” said Loki.
            “Right,” said (Y/N).
“…How do you feel about seeing her?” asked Loki.
“What do you mean?” asked (Y/N).
“She stabbed you. You could have died,” said Loki. The phantom fear returned, and every feeling he’d dealt with when holding (Y/N)’s bleeding, dying body rushed back in. Loki was still angry at Sylvie for hurting her, the woman he loved.
“It was an accident. Right after it happened, she was horrified. I don’t hold it against her,” said (Y/N).
Loki was silent. He’d accept her thoughts, but he wouldn’t forgive Sylvie until she really apologized to (Y/N) (and, quite honestly, he might not really forgive her anyways).
“Hey, can you help me with the zipper?” asked (Y/N).
Loki turned around confidently. “Of course.”
            “Great,” said (Y/N), stepping out.
All of Loki’s confidence went down the drain. She stood with her back to him in a long blue dress that fell around her figure in a flattering manner, and he could see by the neckline that it drew just the right attention to her. Unfortunately, it meant that Loki had to somehow ignore her divine beauty instead of being distracted.
Loki stepped up behind her and zipped her up, his fingers trailing up her spine slightly. (Y/N) shivered involuntarily, enjoying his touch, and Loki let his fingers linger on the warmth of her skin before stepping back.
“Thanks,” said (Y/N), turning around and pulling on her gloves.
“You look beautiful,” said Loki letting himself be honest.
(Y/N) smiled at him. “Thank you, Loki. You look quite nice yourself.” She reached out and squeezed his hand. “And we’ll find Sylvie, alright?”
“Right,” said Loki. Then, he swallowed and looked at her. “Listen, (Y/N)…After you got hurt…” He held her hand tighter and stepped closer, trying to gather his thoughts and his courage.
(Y/N)’s eyes widened. Was this happening? Is what she hoped finally happening?
“I’ve realized tha—”
“Hey, you two ready?” said Mobius, popping his head in.
Loki jumped back, and (Y/N) nearly glared at Mobius for interrupting the moment.
“What?” said Mobius in confusion as he saw their uncomfortably gazes. “Did something happen?”
“Nothing happened,” grumbled (Y/N). Now she would never know if her feelings were returned.
l
Loki, (Y/N), and Mobius stepped through the Time Door into 1977 London on a newer branch of time. They straightened their outfits and looked around.
            “Thoughts?” said Mobius.
“Sylvie’s not here,” sighed Loki, and (Y/N) nodded.
“We just got here,” said Mobius.
“It doesn’t feel right,” said (Y/N).
“I know, but why?” asked Mobius.
            “It’s too safe,” said Loki.
“It just doesn’t feel like she’s here,” said (Y/N), shrugging. She didn’t understand the instinct, either.
“Okay,” said Mobius. “Well, we got a hit on a Tempad that belonged to Hunter X-5 before it went dark.”
“If the Tempad went dark, then she found him first,” said Loki.
“Yeah, I don’t disagree,” said Mobius. They pushed into the crowd of reporters outside fo the theater. “But you said you want to find Sylvie, right? With Dox and X-5 not responding, this is our only lead.”
“Speak of the devil,” said (Y/N) as they entered the venue of the film debut. X-5 stood in the middle of a group of paparazzi and celebrities, smiling all the while.
“X-5 is an actor, now?” wondered Mobius. “Or he’s undercover.”
“Looks pretty real to me,” said Loki.
“Yeah, I think he’s having a good time,” said (Y/N).
Mobius intercepted X-5 as he went around shaking hands (kissing ass, thought (Y/N)). “Will there be a Xaniac Two? You know, a sequel for the fans?”
X-5 froze awkwardly for a moment before grinning. “Mobius! Whoa!” He hugged Mobius. “I used to work with this guy!” he gestured to the paparazzi.
            “You look great,” said Mobius.
“Oh, thank you very much,” said X-5. “You look pretty good. We’re gonna need to catch up. Afterwards, alright?”
“Oh, no, I think we’re going to need to catch up now,” said (Y/N), stepping out of the crowd behind X-5 and stopping him from backing away.
X-5 stared at her and smiled. “I heard about you! The (Y/N) variant! Wow, with those looks, you could get into the movie business. You know, I’m sure my agent would—”
“Not interested,” said (Y/N), crossing her arms.
“Alright, alright, if you’re not into acting, I’m sure a bunch of people here would ask you out. In fact, even I—”
“Shut up,” said (Y/N), cutting him off. “You’re nowhere near my type.” She looked him up and down. “And I could crush you like an ant under a boot.”
Loki glanced at her, surprised at the turn of phrase. He wasn’t proud of what he’d done on Earth, but to hear (Y/N) say that and shut down the slime trying to flirt with her made it all worth it.
“So, X-5, is everything alright?” said Mobius, patting X-5 on the back while he panicked at being surrounded by Mobius, (Y/N), and Loki.
“Of course. Everything’s going great. I’m actually really glad to see you all,” said X-5. “I need to catch you guys up on what’s going on here.”
            “Sure,” said Mobius.
“But I think first we could all use a drink. What are you drinking?” asked X-5, shifting awkwardly.
(Y/N) perked up at the prospect of a drink, but Loki shook his head, and she deflated. Damn it, she was on the job.
            “We’re fine,” said Loki.
“Great, we’ll do whiskies,” said X-5, turning away to another room .
“You know, it’s okay to have a drink while we’re down here because we’re still working well,” said Mobius. He had been in the TVA and its cafeteria for so long and wanted a drink.
“He’s running now,” said (Y/N) plainly.
“Oh, yes,” agreed Loki, not even having to look back.
“He is,” sighed Mobius. He ran after X-5, and Loki and (Y/N) went back out the front door.
As they ran, (Y/N) focused on a slight buzz in her mind. Around her hands, a blue light sparked.
“Here,” said (Y/N), rolling her wrist.
A blue portal opened up, and (Y/N) stepped through. X-5 was right in front of her, and he tried to slow to a stop when he saw her appear out of nowhere. He stumbled, (Y/N) sidestepped, and she let him fall down the stairs. Loki stepped through the portal behind her, and Mobius slowed to a stop.
“When did you manage to control that?” asked Loki in confusion.
“I don’t know. I followed my instincts.” (Y/N) considered. “And maybe all the traumatic shit we’ve gone through had something to do with it.”
Mobius shrugged, and Loki just cocked his head. There was too much happening to question (Y/N) and her abilities having more strength. In a way, it made some sense since Loki’s own magic was itching to be used after being suppressed in the TVA for so long.
(Y/N) grinned and looked down at X-5. “You still glad we’re here?”
X-5 stared up nervously and scrambled up to run again. (Y/N) and Loki ran down after him with Mobius hard on their heels. They ran through alleys, into a building, and into a basement. Unfortunately for X-5, he arrived at a chain link fence blocking his path.
“Come on!” shouted X-5 in frustration.
“Come on, X-5, did you really think you could outrun me?” questioned Loki.
(Y/N)’s eyes widened, and a bit of heat rose to her cheeks at Loki’s dark tone. Yes, it was reminiscent of Loki as a villain, but now that (Y/N) understood him (and loved him), it was damn attractive.
“Yeah,” said X-5, fiddling with a device in his hand. He blipped out of the basement, leaving them alone.
            “Damn,” muttered (Y/N).
“Can you find him again with your abilities?” asked Loki.
“I think the adrenaline did that,” admitted (Y/N).
Loki extended a hand. “If there was more going on, perhaps I’ll be able to sense him.”
(Y/N) stared at him in surprise before giving him her hand. Loki’s eyes glowed green, and (Y/N)’s turned blue before fading to his identical green. The pair stood still, hands linked, and stared at one another. It felt right to be standing like that, connected, magic, minds, and selves intertwined. The only thing they lacked was their feelings.
That thought caused (Y/N) and Loki to let go and hastily step back.
            “I’ve got it,” said Loki.
            “Great, good, yeah,” said (Y/N).
Loki waved a hand, and a green light appeared before fading. “Let’s go,” he said, turning and walking back out of the basement with (Y/N) by his side. Loki was done with this chase.
l
“Oi! Where’s the rude boy off to?” crowed one of the punks watching X-5. He had hit them earlier, and they weren’t pleased. Now they just so happened to have met once again.
“Where’s the fancy lad going off to, then?” jeered another as X-5 tried to walk through the crowd.
“Did you lose your tickets to the other? Didja? Oh, goodness,” snickered another.
“Alright, alright,” muttered X-5 as every exit he attempted was blocked. “Okay, okay.” He put his hands up.
“He came down the wrong street tonight,” said one punk.
“Let’s just hold on a second. Alright? Relax,” said X-5. He whirled, grabbed a piece of pipe from the trash pile, and swung at the crowd. “Back off! Hey, back off!”
“Oh, you’re a tough guy, huh?” jeered one man, stepping up to X-5.
X-5 swung, and his pipe went right through the man, leaving a trail of green light where he hit. X-5’s eyes widened.
“So unsophisticated, X-5,” drawled Loki behind X-5.
The ex-hunter whirled and saw Loki and (Y/N) watching him with a condescending gleam in their eyes. They had found him again.
“Are you putting that stunt training to use?” said (Y/N), smirking.
“Real cute, real cute,” muttered X-5. He grabbed for his device, but Loki flicked his wrist, and the device went flying. X-5 glared. “You quit the magic and fight fair!”
“I’m up for it,” said (Y/N), taking a step forward. Her gaze hardened.
X-5 turned and tried to run, but suddenly, Loki was in front of him again. “Oh, shoot!” he scrambled away from Loki.
“It’s not a fair fight,” said Loki, a simple warning.
X-5 ran into an alley but just found Loki again waiting for him. He stepped backwards to escape, but then it was (Y/N) waiting for him, hands on her hips, and another Loki. X-5 backed into the wall of the alley, and (Y/N) stood next to a Loki with another pair beside her. The shadows of the Lokis grew horns and loomed ominously over the scared form of X-5. Loki’s eyes flashed green, and the shadows extended their arms and grabbed X-5, restraining him.
Okay, I can get behind Loki using magic more, thought (Y/N). It was hot as hell. Honestly, (Y/N) was wondering what else he was able to do since she was really enjoying it.
            “I didn’t do anything wrong!” snapped X-5.
Mobius panted and came to a stop behind them. “Yeah, but why’d you run?” He glanced at Loki. “A little over the top, don’t you think, all the shadow play?”
“I love it,” said (Y/N), a little breathlessly. She found it hot, plain and simple.
“I thought it was spot on,” said the Loki to her left. The one she was standing by wasn’t even the real one. Loki’s magic was just that convincing. The other two disappeared.
(Y/N) smirked as Mobius and X-5 stared at Loki.
l
“Suits you,” said (Y/N) while she watched X-5 get paraded down to an interrogation room in a variant-criminal outfit. This time, it was her and Loki wearing TVA uniforms instead of the jumpsuits.
X-5 scowled. “You must love this.”
“It’s tighter than you think it’s going to be, isn’t it?” remarked Loki, gesturing to the collar around X-5’s neck.
“Yeah. I’ll get you a looser one next time,” spat X-5.
“What is this?” questioned B-15, holding up X-5’s tempad.
“It’s a Tempad,” he said condescendingly.
            “What did you do?”
“I put colorful buttons on it for you,” said X-5.
“You’ll tell us if you found Sylvie when you’ve had time in holding,” decided B-15.
“Right. ‘Cause I’m a criminal, right?” he scoffed.
“Okay, come on, get in there,” said Mobius, and the guards pulled X-5 in.
            “I see X-5 didn’t go quietly,” said a hunter.
“Quietly is not his strong suit,” said B-15. “But he will talk once he’s had time to marinate.”
“What about the Tempad?” asked Loki.
“I’d like to take a look,” said (Y/N). “I’m usually good with tech. Maybe I can figure it out.”
Mobius gave her a look. “We’ll give it to OB, first. He works on these the most. Plus, I don’t trust you to somehow mess with it more.”
(Y/N) pouted. Mobius wasn’t wrong, but that was rude.
l
“OB? Hello?” called Mobius when they walked into R and A.
            “Ouroboros?” said Loki.
(Y/N) leaned over the counter to find Ouroboros sitting on the floor tinkering with several objects at once.
“OB?” said (Y/N), looking down at him. “How are things going?”
“Well, the Loom is in rough shape,” said Ouroboros, looking up. “But I’m trying to figure out a retrofit device to handle all those new branches.”
“OB, could I get you to take a look at this Tempad?” asked Mobius.
“Let me see,” said Ouroboros. He took it. “Ah, interesting. Yeah, I can definitely get into it. Do you think this is a higher priority than preventing a Temporal meltdown?”
            “Oh, no,” assured Loki hurriedly.
“I think you should stay focused on the Temporal meltdown,” said Mobius.
            “I agree,” said Loki.
“In that case, I should take a look at the Tempad!” said (Y/N) eagerly.
“Are you good with technology?” asked Ouroboros.
            “Absolutely,” said (Y/N).
“Okay!” chirped Ouroboros, handing the Tempad to her. “And here’s the guidebook!”
Loki and Mobius exchanged a worried look as (Y/N) immediately tried to pull the device apart and ignored the book. Loki wracked his brain for what (Y/N) had been like on Earth and tried to decide whether or not this would go well. Unfortunately, he came up with nothing.
l
“Are you sure you know what you’re doing?” said Mobius.
“I’m getting there,” said (Y/N), having successfully taken the Tempad apart to examine the newly added pieces.
“I think that means no,” said Loki.
            “No it doesn’t,” said (Y/N).
“Darling, I’m the god of lies,” said Loki. The term of endearment slipped out of him before he could stop it.
(Y/N) froze and turned pink, and Mobius looked between the two awkwardly, kind of hoping they’d finally get their heads out of their asses and confess.
Loki cleared his throat and fought not to turn pink himself. “But I’m sure you’re beginning to understand.”
            Silence.
“Right…” Mobius interrupted the uncomfortable quiet. “Oh, look, it’s B-15!” He had never been so glad to see her.
“Casey, tell them what you told me,” said B-15, nudging Casey forward.
“Miss Minutes is helping Renslayer,” said Casey, shifting nervously.
(Y/N) looked up from her work from where she sat on the floor. “What?”
“That explains the radio silence,” said Mobius.
“She really is full of surprises, but since Renslayer was the most loyal to the Time-Keepers and Miss Minutes works with He Who Remains, I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised,” said Loki.
“Where are they, Renslayer, Miss Minutes?” asked Mobius.
“Not sure, but I’ll keep searching,” said Casey. “If there’s a hit on the Tempad, I’ll let you know. But it will take some time, so…How are things going here?”
The Tempad sparked in (Y/N)’s hands, and she yelped. “They’re going fine,” she said, furiously shaking her singed fingers.
            “What is that?” asked Casey.
“A rigged Tempad. We’re figuring out what it does.” (Y/N) stared at it in frustration. “X-5 claimed it blocks TVA tracking, but I don’t believe him. I looked at the guidebook for the construction, and a blocker would show up in different places in the wiring. This is all wrong.” She glared and poked the device, making sure it wasn’t going to shock her again. “I’ll figure it out, though.”
“That’s where we’ll start with X-5, then,” said B-15. “Call him out on a lie and figure out what it does.”
Loki smirked. “Let’s take a run at Brad Wolfe.”

The Burden of Glorious Purpose
@/joobobby on ao3!
Spoiler warning: End of Loki season 2.
Loki sits at the end of time and watches those he loves.
849 words
---
(“All this… because Loki desires a throne.”)
He had wanted it, it is true. He had wanted it with every fibre of his being. He had wanted it, had needed it in the way one needs air. Desperate, lacking … something.
He had desired it when his father had held his hand in his own and promised that one of his sons would soon become King.
Golden, shining, brilliant. Gloom, shadow, lacking. Hopeful. Innocent.
He had wanted it when he fought the Mighty God of Thunder, the golden, brilliant brother. He had wanted it when he had given his all, had torn his heart out… and all his father had to say was “no”.
He had needed it with a burning rage and itching desperation when he descended upon the people of Earth like a plague; death reincarnated.
It was his birthright.
(“Your birthright was to die!”)
(“I could have done it, Father! For you! For all of us!”
“No, Loki. No.”)
He had wanted it, had needed it in the way one needs air. Desperate, lacking … something. Lacking what? What was his birthright?
The big, gaping hole in his heart had always been a heavy weight to carry. To live with it was to feel it. Better to cram a throne there than to admit the loneliness to himself. Better to create mischief and cause chaos around Asgard than to feel the shattering sadness of not feeling enough, not being enough. Better to live as the God of Mischief and the attention-seeking child than to plead for his father to see him.
“I crave attention… And I’m scared of being alone”.
It was always better to obsess over the idea, the illusion, of external prowess and power than to admit what he really craved… For what he, the God of Mischief, had always needed, was love.
“Love is a dagger. It’s a weapon to be wielded far away or up close. You can see yourself in it. It’s beautiful... until it makes you bleed. But ultimately, when you reach for it... it isn’t real.”
Love wasn’t a dagger. Wasn’t a weapon to be wielded, or something that was destined to make one bleed. Love was beautiful and kind, selfless. It was forgiveness and acceptance. It was seeing the flaws in others and choosing to love them anyway.
Love wasn’t a dagger and trust wasn’t for dogs.
Loki didn’t always know this. The carefully constructed image of the all-powerful and arrogant God was all he ever could know… But, he knew now.
He had never wanted a throne. He had only ever wanted to be seen and loved, to be okay.
“I never wanted the throne… I just want you to be okay.”
But, as he sat on his lonely throne at the end of time, with a heavy crown atop his head, all he could do was smile. For a man enslaved to time itself, a man he loved, once told him that he could be anything he wanted to be. Even someone good.
“I know what I want. I know what kind of god I need to be...for you. For all of us.”
He did this for Mobius, who had chosen to care for him when he thought he was alone and had no one. He did this for his brother, the brother he loved wholeheartedly and thought the world of. He did this for Sylvie, who just needed to be okay and live a life she was proud of. He did this for Father, for Mother (“I love you my sons”).
For Love wasn’t a dagger. Wasn’t a weapon to be wielded, or something that was destined to make one bleed. Love was beautiful and kind, selfless.
So, as he sat on his lonely throne at the end of time, with a heavy crown atop his head, all he could do was smile.
Loki Odinson sat and smiled as he saw Sylvie, serving customers their burgers with a contented look on her face.
The God of Stories sat and smiled, with tears in his eyes, as he saw the man he loved; and heard the Nowhere Man’s voice say, “I might just wait here for a little bit. Let time pass.”
‘I am here, Mobius. I wish you a lifetime of key lime pies, jet skis, and happy memories. Thank you, Mobius.’
He sat and smiled as he saw his brother giving Love a piggyback ride. As the God of Thunder told the little girl about the God of Mischief and the adventures they went on together.
‘I will see to it that the sun will always shine on you, brother. I assure you. I am glad I died with you knowing the full extent of my love for you.’
He was alone, at the end of time, but he now knew that he was never destined to be alone. It was the ultimate and selfless sacrifice; one he chose to make for them.
‘I am Loki Odinson of Asgard, God of Mischief and Stories, and I am burdened with glorious purpose.’
Loki sat and smiled.

Steal you 💔 Pt.2
Tumblr media
Here's pt 2 I hope you like it and tell me what you thinks I am a new writer so I'm sorry for any screw ups while I write
Warning ⚠: bad writing, girl verbal fight, reader gets suspended, and relationship problems, near death and super long
Kelly's pov
It's been three months since our fight and that's also three months she been staying with Sylvie and I really miss her if I hadn't said those things to her I probably wouldn't be sleeping alone every night. And I've tried apologizing she ignores me I lock her in my office to get one on one she let me kiss her but still won't talk to me I try asking everyone for advice but they give me the stank eye for what I did well everyone except Stella she's the only person who would talk to me. But she's the reason I'm in this mess in the first place so taking advice from her probably isn't a good thing. Hey Kels what's on your mind Stella asked with a worried expression. Nothing much Stella I'm just trying to get Y/n to forgive me but I wouldn't have to be doing this if you would of just stayed away from me I would probably still have my girl
^Wow are you really blaming me for caring about you. I was just checking up on you it was a tough call and if Y/n can't see it that way then she's not a good girlfriend.
What Stella was saying was making sense all she was doing was making sure I was okay Y/n is overreacting. So I'm done trying to apologize.
× Y/N POV
It's been awhile since our fight and Kelly has been trying to apologizing Obviously I haven't accepted his apologies because what he said really hurt I dont think I can forgive him yet.
I came into work with Sylvie expecting Kelly to there with some flowers or something but he wasn't he was sitting at the squad table laughing at something cap said turned and looked at me then back at the squad members which confused me first he was apologizing now he's not. It's kind of concerning Maybe he's done apologizing And ready to move on then I see Stella go over and then starts talking to Kelly and them. I walked away knowing what's happening Stella probably told him something that's why he stopped apologizing.
Sylvie pov
I see Y/n walking away from the scene in front of us I walked over to the squad table and looked between Kelly and Stella. Kelly you're gonna lose a really great, kind, amazing, sweet, loving, and caring girlfriend is you don't start seeing what Stella is doing to your relationship. And I know deep down you don't want that and for you to sit here and try to ruin a good relationship is fucked up and you know what Stella I really thought you were a good person never would hurt anyone especially here we are family and just to betray someone like that just to get their boyfriend is really really fucked up.
No what is fucked is that Y/n took in the wrong way Stella was just making sure I was okay it was a tough call you know you were there .
Yea I was it was a tough call for everyone even Y/n you know the body they found after the fire was put out was a person Y/n couldn't save and she was right there Matt had to pull her out fire because the building was gonna explode. That's why that day she went straight to put her things up she was crying her eyes out and you were here with Stella being a bad boyfriend not the other way around. I walked away not being able to keep my cool.
Y/n pov
Hey are you okay? I heard Sylvie ask
Not really what if my relationship is over?! It can't be over Kelly is the first guy to ever make me feel loved and that I'm not such a burden to everyone he actually cares about me I dont want that to be over I started crying Sylvie hugged and and said hey it's not over and if does leave you for her then he's not worth the tears. You're the best thing that has ever happened to him rocky just remember that you have whole crew behind you.
Yea thanks Sylvie I smiled at her she smiled back then the alarms went off duty calls. We make it to a house fire then a women is heard scerming for her son the house fully engulfed in flames chief Boden doesn't want anyone going in because it was already unstable but the lady is begging us to save her son that his name was oliver I knew I was gonna get in trouble for this but I ran into the house calling for Oliver no reply then I saw him laying there passed I froze for a second because I saw the man I didn't save on the call three months ago but then I heard my name being called it was Matt and Kelly i snapped out my daze and grabbed the kid made it to Matt and Kelly and ran out the building we watched as it collapsed his mother come running to us Matt stopped her as Sylvie and Violet were working on him he didn't have a pulse. I was silently praying he would make it. Sylvie looked at me and shook her head letting me know he didn't make Matt let the mom go she was screaming in agnoy Sylvie was comforting her I walked pass everyone. Everyone was tapping me on the shoulder everyone except Kelly and Stella. I went behind our truck then started crying we all got in our assigned trucks and went back to 51 as soon as we get there I went somewhere private to calm myself down then Sylvie found me and told chief Boden was looking for me.
Kelly pov
Y/n just loss another victim and she just walked past everyone and they all patted her shoulder but I didn't neither did Stella which is understandable. Then as soon as we got to the firehouse she went off to her little private room to calm herself down. I was gonna go talk to her but Stella pulled me into my office and started to talk to me
Do you really think she's gonna let you comfort her you yall are still fighting and she probably won't even acknowledge you Stella said. I don't care Stella she just lost another victim and this time it's a kid and right now I don't care if she doesn't want me there she still my girlfriend and I love her. Wow you still love after three months of not talking to you she probably doesn't even love you anymore so why don't you move on Kells to someone who won't do that to you like me I will never shut you out. Then it hit Stella was really trying to break us up why was I so blinded by that I should of noticed it three months ago. You should leave Stella, all this time you've been getting really close to me and now I notice how you were trying to break us up I really hope I didn't mess this up. Whatever Kelly you're missing out on what could've been something amazing. But go back to your bitxh. DON'T CALL HER THAT!!!! I yelled at Stella the real bitxh here is you. Stella slapped me then walked away. I went to look for Y/n and try to get her forgiveness. I saw Sylvie and asked where she was cause she's not in her little room. Hey Sylvie where's Y/n I need to talk to her it's really important. She's is Boden's office he wanted to talk to her about something. Thanks Sylvie I went to chief Boden's office then I heard yelling from both chief and Y/n. Then Y/n comes out tears on her face and stops and looks at me. Hey are you okay what happened in there. I just got suspended for what I did at the last call my night can't get shitter than this unless you are here to break up with me she said. No I'm not here to do that I'm here to actually here to tell that I'm sorry for what I did and for not seeing it sooner I'm sorry for not listening to about Stella and what her intentions were. She looks st with shock then comes too. Kelly I'm glad you finally see what she was doing we can talk more about this later but right now I just need leave with tears still running down her face. She walked off and went to collect her things and said bye to everyone as soon as she left I went straight to talk to Boden.
Part 3 is next I hoped you like it but please leave a comment and tell me how I did and should I continue writing

The loki show ships just really suck and this is coming from someone who literally ships every enemies to lovers ship to ever exist but loki and sylvie have to be the cringest most boring ship in this trope that I actually can't believe Disney took a relationship between the god of mischief and goddess of mischief and managed to make it so horrendously BORING
Like why does loki have to act like this empty shell of his former self just so they can convince us "he is now soft and in love"?
With that being said i definitely don't mean this as an attack to the shippers they are more than welcome to have fun with this ship but please can they just stop pretending everybody who doesn't ship them is tasteless or doesn't know how to "have fun"
Same goes to lokius fans whose arguments seem to boil down to (Loki doesn't deserve to be in a toxic heterosexual relationship he deserves to be in a toxic homosexual relationship 🥰💕) just have fun with your ships but never write any sort of metas about them ever for god's sake cause they just sound so dumb and it's getting tiring to hold on to this fandom any longer
Ok if you got this far thanks for reading my long ass rant and also Hello, You're one of the few blogs that i came across that doesn't defend this complete assassination of loki's character!!!
The biggest sinners in the whole TV show debacle are the writers. THEY decided to slowly bring down Loki's character progress and dignity, and THEY chose to keep Tom out of the creative process, when he's the one who made a whole career out of the part. I bet he wasn't wholly on board with the direction they were taking Sylvie and Loki. There is no way a man who speaks about a role with such passion and admiration would ever approve of "she's a female YOU! Lol oh that narcissistic Loki could only EVER love himself!"
Tumblr media
Thing is, I kind of get why they wanted Loki to get a girlfriend, fan service and all. Loki DID kind of become the underground sex symbol of the MCU. They would've felt pressure from focus group hacks to do SOMETHING with Loki's romantic life if they were going to keep wringing appearances out of him like a sponge. But there were already so many characters they could have worked with, including his WIFE, MISTRESSES, and, oh yeah, a ROLE THEY HAD CAST AND THEN DELETED (Amora the Enchantress), and instead they went with "Loki could only ever respond romantically to himself so let's create a whole new character who has no personality, heart, or anything Loki needs or would be attracted to, and shove her down everyone's throats as Phase Four's Breakout Tragic Romance, which is the single biggest insult that surrounds Sylvie's creation and execution.
At first, I thought the show was going to be a metaphor for horrible systemic treatment of abuse victims via the failing bureaucracy of government. That would have rocked so hard. It STARTED to seem that way. It could have been about Loki standing up for himself and finding vindication through action and forgiveness for those he wronged. He could have even found vindication through a love story if IT HAD BEEN DONE RIGHT! Then they just made it all about Sylvie, Sylvie, Sylvie and how gosh darn wonderful she is.

Also, there was no fun, aside from arguably seeing the other Lokis in the void. Loki's character was always sinister with a lot of angst, but he was also FUN! He had creative costumes and ways of doing things. Tom Hiddleston has amazing facial expressions and scene presence when he's allowed to use it and not shrink back into it. The show should have been much more pleasant and visually engaging to match Loki, but instead, they threw him down a volcano and took what came out as his 'new look' and attitude. I think if he met Thor again, Thor would think Loki was lobotomized, and Thor 5 would be all about the search for proper mental health emergency resourcers (as long as they skipped the screeching goats).
Ah, I love a good rant on a Monday morning! :)

hello, and goodbye
“...Sylvie.”
Their name, which often rolls off Zhongli’s tongue so naturally, felt heavy—poised hands settling down his tea which he has been taking long, tentative sips from. “May I suggest holding a funeral?”
“A wh—a funeral?” Thick eyebrows knitted in as Sylvie’s own, now empty, teacup came to a rest upon the same table, confusion spilling across their face as a weird and uncomfortable knot seemed to lump within their stomach, like a sudden lurch.
“For Foras … and you,” he continued, straight to the point and leaving no room for doubt on what he meant. “ … forgive my forwardness, but this has been weighing on my mind for quite some time. Since the Rite of Parting, I've deeply pondered if I could offer the same to you.”
… of course, at a glance, the deceased in question is still very much alive—talking and smiling as one does, telling jokes about ‘hooters’ and ‘boobie’ birds that would get a groan to rise out of him. But for those like the Geo Archon who lived through countless millennia, he knew they were a dead God walking. Very few could recall them as Foras, God of Trees and Lord of Forests who once roamed the lands of Sumeru, whom people worshipped and adorned with garlands of flowers, whom people prayed to for safety, health, and bountiful harvests.
Now, little traces of them remain in the world. They bled into the casualties that were forgotten and buried in war. If people mourned and searched for them, they would not know it.
Sylvie’s tongue nervously darted out to lick at dry lips, mind lost between racing and having absolutely no coherent thought, as if it were frozen—something violently thrashed within their chest for a few moments as a cold seed spreads through their stomach, like icicles; it was only his gentle touch and squeeze to their hands that brought their focus back from the dark haze that edged their mind.
The sincerity in his eyes was nothing short of good intentions. They know that as a consultant—but most importantly, as their partner and an old friend—there was no one better fit for this task than him to offer such a thing.
So what was that fear that was keeping them from directly saying yes?
Perhaps it was the finality of saying goodbye to 'Foras' that scared them more than holding a funeral for their own death. But they wanted that and have wanted to snip that past identity for a while, so why did it make them want to cry merely thinking about it?
Why did it feel like it was asking to tear themselves in two?
No easy answer came, just waves and waves of emotions that seemed to tear at the seams of their heart, torn between wanting to release, and wanting to hold 'Foras' closer. A sharp inhale followed, deep and filling—before slowly being exhaled through their nose, feeling the pressure of Zhongli’s hands squeezing around theirs patiently—worryingly.
“I … I dunno. Like I …I think it might be worth ... the um ... no, it's a good idea. Yeah." Sylvie’s voice was quiet, meek, lacking any of their usual bravado and confidence. "Please be slow with me, I ... I want to, but the idea scares me. Silly as ... I feel silly for being so scared of ... burying myself. I'm scared, but I trust you. I trust you."
And he would hold their trust close to his chest.
————————
Of course, no ceremony was one that could be done in the mere span of a day, so it gave the Dendro God time to sit and ruminate. Except, they did anything and everything to keep themselves from doing so, throwing themselves into commissions, around crowds, into conversations and hobbies that kept their mind occupied from the looming fog.
Sylvie had already long come to terms with their own ‘death’ three thousand years ago; the only remnants of the effect was the deep scar running through their whole torso—almost bisecting them—and the bitter dislike of the cold from dying in old, frigid Mondstadt in some futile attempt to get shelter elsewhere for their people.
That was whatever.
What they never wanted to revisit, was the aftermath of that upon their reawakening.
————————
There was no one there anymore for Foras.
Morax now donned the mantle of Rex Lapis, the weight of Liyue heavy on his shoulders; he had more than enough on his shoulders, they would not—could not—add to that, when they knew all too well what it meant to be a God.
Guizhong was gone, many were gone, taken away in the war without any goodbye. The rest withdrew—all carrying their own aches and pains they were healing from.
Sumeru was not an option, for even thinking of visiting made them feel shaken with shame for their failure as a God to their people—leaving ████ as a distant thought instead, even though they so, so sorely wished they could talk to her, to listen to her wisdom once more as fingers threaded through their hair to decorate it with flowers.
They were alone.
No one could answer the anguished calls of their heart, not when their own were still hurting and bleeding.
No one could answer them.
Who were they?
What were they meant to do now that all their people were gone?
And why hadn’t they just stayed dead?
————————
“I hope you don’t mind the request, Director Hu Tao.”
Hu Tao looked up towards her consultant, hands resting on her hips as her expression was thoughtful; it was rare for Zhongli to request much outside of work and clientele, especially in a way where he didn’t wish to divulge the reasoning behind it. “Of course I don’t mind it, seeing you with such a serious face when you ask me that … go, take all the time you need.”
————————
Sylvie quietly observed the green jade within their grasp, turning it in their hands as it glistened underneath the light of the sun; they know the rite should be using Noctilucous jade, blue in its luster and glow … but they know Zhongli picked it because green was representative of them. A deviation from tradition, a gesture of kindness in a way that would not betray the original intention of the ceremony as the jade was carved.
Silk Flower perfume, incense, bell …
“And you dragged the traveller along to get all of these?” they laughed out quietly, turning to look towards him.
“Mm, yes. It was quite an experience, I will say, especially as they had to sing to open up the Glaze Lilies; I’m glad that it was not a requirement this time around, with your hand in recreating the needed ingredients.” His smile mirrored their own, small and subtle. “I’m sure you would’ve enjoyed it had you been around to see the negotiations and hurdles that must’ve been crossed in the process.”
“Ones that had someone else bartering for you because you very conveniently forgot your money? And for three million Mora for incense of all things? And the … ahem, cocogoat you had to hunt down?”
“Everburning Incense. You must be aware and mindful, my jade, I was merely learning at that stage, and anyone could’ve easily mistaken Qiqi’s request.”
“Uh huh, considering even the six thousand-year-old god did. And now you do it on purpose to leave your mora at home and use your big puppy eyes towards me to buy you stuff on occasion.” Their elbow nudged into his side, watching. “How the hell did you even manage to get the incense this time around?”
“Baizhu owed me a favour.” Sylvie could only respond with a raised eyebrow towards him. “Legal loopholes allow him to import some external herbs that within Liyue are often regulated and need months of paperwork processing ahead of time, but were necessary for a critical patient in absorbing and removing miasma without reliance on adeptal arts.”
“Mm, I’d call that a very big favour. Makes sense.”
The jade was placed back down upon the table, settled into a quiet room within the funeral parlour that was secluded and private, housing the items that were to make up the Rite of Parting; although nothing like the one held for Rex Lapis. This was just for the two of them, and no one else.
They could not bear to have anyone else see this. “… I suppose that makes all of it,” they murmured quietly, not looking back up towards him.
“Outside needing to carve the jade to its needed shape, yes. It should not be longer than a few more days before we can enact the rite.”
They know this funeral is also for him as well, and is why he is pouring all of himself into doing it; in the tides of war, where grief and vulnerability were not allowed, the weight of their death had not dawned on him until it was far too late. Feelings slowly eroded and washed away like rivers over stones, dulling them down into something they can shelve far, far behind.
Ironic that he’s picked up the mantle of a funeral consultant when he needed it the most.
And though it all rests in the past now, memories flicker for both of them, of the anguish and hurt as he held their torn body within their own cold, dying dreamscape, of the apologizes spilling out amongst sobs they could never imagine leaving him, of the regrets he's had over so many years as he felt Sylvie’s essence slipping between his fingers, of their own words assuring him in their time of peril that it’ll all be okay (oh, he thought, they were always so selfless, down to their last breath) … to him, it still felt very much real when he thought back to it, even if it was merely a dream he walked into.
So, Sylvie thinks, when has he ever had time to mourn? For them? For lost friends and companions? For the people of Liyue who had died for him? It’s why they wanted him to have this opportunity to do so, even if it was only for them, even if they were still here.
It eases up a bit of the dread coiled in their stomach.
————————
It took a few days for the jade carvings to return, and one more day until the actual procession and rite itself. Sylvie occupied themselves during those days, wanting to exhaust their body until they fell asleep and to not leave any moment to think. Of course, they prepared, mentally as much as they could, but it didn’t keep the fear from bubbling in their stomach.
White chrysanthemums and a bowl of fresh fruit decorated the small altar, with a wooden deer-carved figurine topping it; there was no body to mourn, when the body was still breathing, blinking, and moving about, so their own hands carved something symbolic of themselves to place atop the altar.
The door was closed behind them, finalizing the fact that this was happening, as the two quietly gathered around the altar.
“We are here today to honour and remember Foras, known as the God of Trees, of Harvests, of Fertility, of Health, a god born of Sumeru’s lands, beloved by those who looked up to them. Although many years have passed, one should admire their courage, dedication and love they returned for their people across many years.”
The heavy scent of the incense and the perfume washed over them, the flicker of light blurred in their eyesight as Zhongli’s voice filled their thoughts.
“Thank you, Foras, for all your kind words, and laughter you’ve brought, of all the times you’ve been there. May you have the same in return, in gentle hands that will hold your own and will listen to you. May the earth welcome you back with open arms..”
This was a goodbye that was three millennia in the making.
A goodbye to the laughter of the past, to the small hands of children holding their robes, to smiling faces thanking them for watching over them, to feasts held in their name, to old friends they will not see again, to a Sumeru that’s long been outgrown.
Gods, did it feel like a stab through the insides to say goodbye to that part of themselves, no matter how much it still lived within them, shaped them.
It hurts. It hurts it hurts it hurts.
The quietness of the rite and his voice was only interrupted by their sobs, raw and aching as they were unable to hold back the waves of emotions that tore through them—indiscernible in name—that sent their body shuddering with a detached coldness as it shook with their voice.
They didn’t want to say it.
But they needed to.
The God of Trees was dead.
————————
Sylvie could not tell how much time passed, lost in thoughts and emotions that felt like mud. They could vaguely feel the shape of hands smoothing over their shoulders in soothing circles. Their knees ache a bit, realizing they had curled down into a squat at some point—and that Zhongli was beside them, his hand being the one to rest on their back. Green eyes lifted to look towards him, finding his expression bare—worried, concerned, and with a glassy look to his own golden eyes.
Their lips parted for a moment, before closing with a soft, “I’m sorry.”
“For doing what would come naturally in a situation like this, you do not need to apologize.” There is a quiet tenderness to his words, vulnerable and open—a funeral for both to find closure, and to both help each other up from.
His hand moved to reach out towards them, palm splayed open … and they took his offer, stumbling up to their feet and finding their legs numb and asleep. The smell of the incense had faded out a bit, leaving only a taste of Glaze Lilies in the air.
“Thank you, Zhongli.”
Words could not cover their full gratitude, instead wrapping their arms around him in a tight embrace, a heavy sigh sinking their body down into him and face burying against the side of his head, focusing on the scent that was him instead—subtle, of sandalwood and something floral from that shampoo they gifted him. They could feel his arms in return around them, squeezing them with a pressure that grounded them further into the present. Everything still felt raw, like an open wound—but now it could close for them both.
“… could you make me a gravestone, Zhongli, saying Foras was buried there? I—I don’t know if that’s a part of the rite, but I … want one back in Sumeru. Actually, two gravestones, if that’s alright—though with the second being blank.”
Sylvie’s words tumbled a little over the latter half of their statement; something felt wrong about the concept of their gravestone being alone. Something equally felt wrong about not having a gravestone for … for someone who never had a chance to be mourned over. Perhaps just an open invitation for any visitor to see someone they wish to say goodbye to.
It took him a few moments, untangling himself out of their grasp to peer towards them. Fingers cupped their face gently, thumbs moving to press over their cheeks and to wipe the wetness underneath their eyes.
“Of course, Sylvie. I would’ve offered myself, but you thought of it first before I could say. I will; for you.”
————————
It was a simple gravestone, etched with Sylvie’s true, old name. Besides it rested a mirrored one, though lacking any engravings and simple in its nature. Zhongli’s eyes remained downcasted and half-lidded; the bundle of flowers within his arms was placed down in front of the named gravestone, looking over the small additional offerings of fruits, carvings, wheat … things drawn from nature itself that were placed in thanks.
He’s not all too surprised, given that upon the grave was written: “Here lies an old god that once called this place their home. Rest your weary head and leave your weight here, for the forest will listen to you.”
“It’s funny, seeing my grave is kind of a weird relief.” Sylvie’s voice spoke up beside him. “Maybe I’m just weirdly happy there’s some remnant left behind of myself, even if it’s in the form of my death and rebirth.” Zhongli’s eyes lifted to look towards them, patient and quiet … and eventually their own eyes lifted to meet his gaze. “Thank you, Zhongli. I hope it has helped you, too.”
“It has. Thank you, Foras.”

Just wanna say FINALLY SOMEBODY ELSE WHO HATES LOKIUS AND SYLKI
For Sylki is obvious: toxic, toxic and they're basically the same person and I can't stand Sylvie (and no I'm not a man who hates women. I'm a woman too and I find her character annoying and useless to the story. You'll see how her character is going to be even more annoying at Season 2)
For Lokius, I felt I was the only person that didn't ship them. In the first episode you can smell the toxicity a mile away. Mobius is gaslighting him as FUCK. And the "Kill me like you killed your mother?" Bro? Wtf? 💀
I wouldn't say hate, that would require more emotional involvement on my part. Despise with a drop of loathing, if this is really supposed to be "it" for Loki.
I was surprised to find out I don't mind Sylvie in Lamentis, or even the episode after that. What ruined it was- ironically- episode with other Lokis. They pushed her ✨specialness✨ so hard! And then that fucking romance, when Sylki worked so well as How-the-fuck-would-you-call-being-friends-through-sharing-your-trauma-with-your-alternative-self?!
Suddenly Mobius is all "Aww, you're in looove!", which at that point sounds more like a 5 y/o yelling at another one, who doesn't want to be friends with him, because he's already friends with some girl! And as if that made it so, Loki goes from distrusting Sylvie through empathy to acting all subservient, when she's concerned?! WTF?!
I know he's mentally fucked up, and his stay with TVA certainly didn't help him, but how?!
(There's also the issue of Sylvie as a character. I might not be some hardcore MARVEL fan, but even I know there's a blond female Asgardian, called Enchantress, who has a history with Loki, so why would you take her attributes to create OC version of Loki, that refuses to even call herself Loki?!)
Mobius' only possible excuse is his own history with TVA. How far did their mindfuck reach? Is that why he doesn't seem to understand boundaries, and requires treatment he, himself isn't willing to offer Loki? Is that why he's preaching about friendship, while sending his alleged bad friend to torture?
If we don't put effort into finding excuses, he's just a dick. He's fully aware this isn't THE Loki, yet he's treating him as if the main timeline's deeds were his doing. Kinda ironic, when you relize this Loki is in TVA for NOT following the script, but apparently Mobius can have it both ways.
As for their relationship- Mobius is backed by a huge organization, while Loki's constantly reminded he can be killed as soon as they don't need him anymore. He has nothing, but Mobius' mercy to work with, and that's rather obviously conditional. Those are supposed to be foundations for a non-abusive relationship?!
Mobius uses his assets to mentally torture Loki, gaslights the hell out of him and manipulates him, while Loki's mostly defensive. There's zero effort to change anything about it, until Mobius starts to doubt TVA, and then he's fighting for himself. He's not taking down the organization that made him hurt his friend, he's taking down an organization that lied to him and others like him.
Loki's just giving, forgiving and forgetting, because he's a horrible, arrogant, selfish asshole, who never changes (Although another question is, when exectly was he so bad to need to change so much?).

***
Matt's been back in practices and games for two weeks when he finally approaches Sylvie about a date. He takes her out for dinner and a concert. Their special teams coach is in a Rush cover band and tonight was their last gig until after New Years. It was important to Mouch that they show up.
Afterward, they go out to dinner at Swift and Sons.
Sylvie calls it the best dinner she'd ever had and declares before they've even had dessert that Swift and Sons is her new favorite restaurant. To say Matt feels as if the date is going well is an understatement.
The two of them seem to have the same priorities and similar tastes. She loved spending their date supporting Mouch. Since she joined the team, Sylvie and Mouch have developed a close bond. He dotes on her as if she's the daughter he never had and Sylvie enjoys listening to him tell however many stories he wants. She appreciates his humor and his wisdom.
Watching Sylvie bond with someone who's been a mentor to him his entire career means more to him than Sylvie knows.
She cherishes the people in her life to the same degree Matt always has. To him, it speaks to her character and leaves him in more awe of her than ever.
"I can't believe you've never listened to Rush," he teases, shaking his head at her after he directs his driver to take them to Sylvie's condo.
Not one to simply sit back and take it, she dishes the teasing right back. "You'll have to forgive me for not being of a certain age."
"Did you just call me old?" Matt asks, feigning outrage. "I am not old!"
"No, but you have to admit you have suspiciously old taste in music," she says, chuckling through her words.
"Because I don't listen to Taylor Swift all the time, that means I'm old?"
"I don't listen to Taylor Swift all the time."
"No, that's true. Sometimes you listen to boybands."
"Hey! There is nothing wrong with a good boyband! We would be missing out on some truly iconic songs without them," she says, playfully smacking his shoulder.
"Okay, sure."
"Oh, I will get you to take that back eventually. Mark my words, Quarterback."
The car stops indicating they've arrived. Sylvie glances out the window but doesn't reach for the door handle. She briefly bites her bottom lip and then aims a beseeching smile at him. "Would you like to come up for a cup of coffee?"
Yes. He would like that very much. "As long as there's decaf," he jokes. "Or else I'm gonna be up all night."
She laughs and rolls her eyes at him. "Maybe being up all night might be worth it, did you think of that?"
Oh, he did. More than once. "I guess there's a chance it might, yeah."
She steps out of the car first, giving him the perfect view of her dress. It's black and backless with a halter neck. The knot holding it up rests on the nape of her neck. The minute she opened the door, he imagined what would happen if that knot came undone. He has no expectation of finding out tonight. They may have known each other for weeks now, but this is still their first date. Whatever happens, happens, but he won't put unnecessary pressure on her. Not about intimacy, physical or emotional. He knows better than most that if it's not freely given then it means nothing. Trying to force someone to do what you want them to do will always drive people further apart.
Once he's out of the car, she grabs his hand and laces their fingers together. Waving at her doorman as they pass, she makes a beeline for the elevator. Within a few minutes, that pass strangely quickly, they're standing in her living room as she drops her keys on to her coffee table.
Her condo is relatively small, but extremely cozy. She's filled it with soothing colors and personal memories. It's not just a place to live, it's a home. His condo is nowhere near this comfortable. He just never knows what to do with all the space. Aside from Football, he doesn't have many good memories to put in picture frames and use for decoration.
"I like your place," he offers, glancing around with a small wistful smile.
"Yeah, right," she says with a scoff. "It's tiny compared to your penthouse."
"More expensive isn't always better," Matt tells her. "I have a lot of space but it's all empty so it doesn't do me much good."
"Well, you can come and share my space anytime you want," Sylvie offers as she crosses the living room and heads for the kitchen. She starts a pot of coffee as she continues. "Honestly, most of the time I feel pretty isolated when I'm home. Being in a new city and not knowing very many people is lonely sometimes."
"You should call me when you need some company. I have no social life," he says with a self deprecating smirk. "You won't be interrupting anything."
“If you’re waiting for me to call and I’m waiting for you to come over then no wonder we’re both still so lonely all these weeks after meeting,” she says, laughing softly.
“I don’t want to disrupt your life any more than I already have,” he explains. It’s the first time that night that either of them have referenced their recent popularity in the press. Their affection for each other made it into Page Six and ever since the public has kept an eye on them, looking for any signs of their burgeoning relationship. “So, I’m trying to let you set the pace.”
“I appreciate that,” Sylvie says, looping her arms around his shoulders. “Most guys wouldn’t even think about that. Trust me, I know.”
His hands find her waist, pulling her closer and closer until her chest rests against his. “Yeah, well, I have a feeling you’re as private as I am. I had a hard time adjusting to life in the public eye early on in my career. I’d like to make that easier for you, if I can.”
“That’s a lot of thinking for a guy who hasn’t even kissed me yet.”
His stare roams her face and he finds a playful smile on her lips and a challenging gleam in her eyes. If he’s letting her behavior be his guide, then he’s long overdue on taking them to the next level. It’s a good thing he still has time to correct himself.
“It’s been nice to have a friend, Matt,” Sylvie tells him, letting one of her hands drift into the short hairs on the back of his head. “Especially while settling in. So, thank you for that.” He tenses for a second, afraid she might be letting him down easy, but then her eyes drift down to his lips as she keeps talking. ”But I’m all settled in now and I’d like to be more than just your friend. If that’s okay with you?”
He chuckles, holding her tighter and resting his forehead against hers. “That’s more than okay with me. Honestly, I’ve been waiting for this moment from the first minute that we met.”
She looks skeptical, unsure if he’s flattering her or being truthful, but before she can ask he swoops in and slants his mouth over hers -- sealing them together. A startled noise escapes her throat, but as her lips part and the kiss intensifies it deepens into a moan. She tries to press herself closer, but they’re as close as they can possibly be while standing up. Matt backs her up toward the sofa, pressing her down onto it once the backs of her legs hit the couch.
He’s not sure what she’s feeling but he knows for certain he’s never felt kisses like these. They’re drugging and exhilarating all at once. Goosebumps raise all over his skin and he feels overheated everywhere he hands wander. He can already tell she’s going to be an addiction he’ll never be able to quit.
This is a once in a lifetime moment and he plans to commit every bit of it to memory. The textures, the tastes, the sounds -- not a bit of it will fade no matter how long he lives.
As his kisses trail down her neck, Sylvie gently pushes against his shoulder, indicating she wants his attention. When he looks up at her, she’s grinning wickedly.
“I don’t know where you see this night going or how far you want to take this, but you should know…I bought this dress with the intention of it ending up on the floor.”His fantasy of untying that delicate bow resting on the nape of her neck comes roaring back to him as he smiles slowly and crookedly. She’s already making his wildest dreams come true and he has a feeling she’ll bring many more of them to life in the future. This isn’t just any date, it’s the date. He knows in his bones that this is the last first date he’ll ever have.

I really wish the Fire writers weren’t so terrible. I totally believe it’s in character for Brett to want to adopt considering she sees herself in that baby. But I also think her anger spiral with Adler wasn’t just about her screw up. I stopped watching after 11x03 (will never forgive them for killing Hawkins off), but I didn’t read anything that said Brett was acting like she did in 11x20. I know Sylvie Brett Two Ts has made appearances but it’s been a while. Was the last time when Foster was pushing her boundaries in season 8 with trying to override Brett’s decisions as the PIC? Anyway, after Casey came back to town in 11x18 she seems all out of sorts. More easily annoyed (with Dylan), more easily angered (with Adler and even Boden slightly), and almost unsure? No one in the firehouse has noticed, outside of Violet and even then she didn’t seem to get exactly why Brett has not seemed like her normal self. Violet knew when Brett was acting down and out at the end of season 9 that is was because of Casey.  In my opinion, this is exactly what’s going on right now. Casey returned with no notice and completely shattered Brett’s illusions of moving on. She’s obviously still trying to force herself to move on with Dylan, though I do believe the beginning of the end of that started in 11x21. She knows the relationship isn’t right because she waited so long to tell him about her wanting to adopt the baby, and didn’t ask him how he felt about it. I also think she doesn’t want him involved at all, even if he wanted to be. Like I said before, it’s totally in character for her to want to adopt, dating back to season 4, but this also feels a little like desperation to fill that hole Casey left. Those hopes to be with him and probably have a family. If she can’t have Casey, at least she can have someone to love and care for. She still thinks he moved on and is in a serious relationship. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that’s she jumping into this so fast, and strongly, after that. The storyline doesn’t seem so out of the blue when you look at it from that angle. I don’t know about anyone else, but it feels obvious to me and I’m really mad at how the female friendships have been written this season because neither Violet nor Kidd has noticed. When was the last time Brett and Kidd even had a scene together like they used to have when Foster was around? Then to have Violet pushing Brett to Dylan constantly even though it’s obvious Brett is not comfortable with it. What the fuck is up with that? Unless it has something to do with him being Hawkins’ friend? But Violet is more levelheaded than that. I don’t think she’d try to live out her relationship with Hawkins via Brett and Dylan. Grief is obviously different for everyone, but no.
How does Casey tie into this storyline in the finale? The only thing that makes sense right now is Brett leaving 51. I don’t think she’ll up and go to Portland because of Casey’s talk with Boden about coming back to Chicago. I’m not one to believe Jesse is coming back fulltime, I think if anything he’ll maybe do two episodes or so a season if there’s a reason (like the task force storyline or even coming back for Brett, hint hint wink wink nudge nudge) like he’s stated before. My theory is she takes a step back from being a paramedic and maybe only takes on paramedicine duties (due to her conversation with the foster parents about timing). I was originally thinking a job promotion, but that’s never even been hinted at. I don’t think Brett would want to be behind a desk anyway. Matt comes back to Chicago as a Captain at another house or maybe even as a Battalion Chief. This gives both Kara and Jesse the option of popping in when they feel like it and when the storyline calls for it. Kara’s contract is probably on the more expensive side so this would also be in line with the budget cuts Dick Wolf shows will be going through next season. I know some have theorized that Brettsey will be the cliffhanger or even Matt in danger with the task force storyline, but that makes no sense unless Jesse is definitely coming back for at least 12x01. Which I get the feeling he isn’t, otherwise this adoption storyline wouldn’t feel so rushed. I feel like another storyline would be used to get Brett and Casey back together anyway, if that were the case. If Casey really is proposing like it seems like (and we’re clowns so can we really trust ourselves with that speculation?) it gives Brettsey another reason to slow down in their careers and not be at 51 anymore. That could also be the move Jesse was talking about in interviews for Casey to get Brett back. There’s also Kara’s hint at the last OC Day about a ring, etc etc..
This is Chicago Fire though. I don’t know if I’ve ever been remotely close to figuring out where a storyline like this is going. For all I know they’re baiting us one final time because we’re so easily conned. For example: me making this long ass post about a show I swore to never watch again after Brettsey broke up and Evan Hawkins died.
Thoughts? Opinions? Indulge in my crazy because this is driving me insane.

Sylvie Laufeydottir in the Fanfics.
i love all the different takes on Sylvie in the fanfiction and i think that the fic writers should be bold when it comes to experimenting with her characterization, so i don't mean to be dogmatic or anything about it, but i think there is fun in trying to grasp the essential traits of a character and trying to write them as in-character as possible as well.
and if i'm being completely honest, there are not a whole lot of fics that have Sylvie characterized in a very "canon accurate" way.
i'm not saying that i am the one who has this correct idea of what kind of a character Sylvie is, but here are my two cents on what makes Sylvie - Sylvie.
first of all, here is what i think some people get wrong about Sylvie:
when she is reduced to exhaustion and stress.
it's true that Sylvie is an anxious character with many issues caused by her struggles, but Sylvie we saw in the series is passionate and driven.
when her one true dream and a final destination beyond revenge is settling down into a domestic lifestyle.
there is no hint of Sylvie dreaming about an uneventful, quiet, ordinary life. the flashbacks into her past suggest that her dream (and possibly her glorious purpose) was to be a hero. we see Sylvie living a low-key life in S2 teaser, and she doesn't look happy at all, she looks depressed af, which indicates that such lifestyle is not right for her.
Sylvie being sadistic.
i think the series makes a point that Sylvie is not sadistic at all. she never does more than necessary to her enemies, she is not cruel for the sake of being cruel. yes, she is feral and competitive, but those aren't the same as sadism. she puts Hunter C in a safe mental space while investigating her, she empathizes with Hunter B, she kills HWR with a quick stab. compare her approach to her enemies to pre-series!Loki's and Ravonna's - they tend to verbally hurt, scare and humiliate their enemies.
the only argument Sylvie has for fighting against Kang being "he wronged me."
yes, she is motivated by a personal vendetta. yes, she can be quite single-minded. but! her experiences with the the tva, awareness of who they are and what they represent, have shaped her worldview. Sylvie is an idealistic character, her revenge boils down to "he hurt me", but she has to believe that her mission is serving a good cause against the oppressive fascists. i believe this is why she is so discouraged and passive in the teaser of S2 - Kang tarnished her idealistic perception of her life's work. she doesn't feel like a hero any more, and it mattered a lot to her that she was a hero - Loki validating her heroism was one of the reasons why she fell for him.
Sylvie being a manipulative femme fatale.
another aspect of her persona that is portrayed very clearly in the series is her honesty. she is a straightforward character, always true to who she is. her kiss was not a deception, it was an expression of her feelings and emotions that exploded when Loki told her that he only cared about her.
Sylvie being overly-apologetic to the tva and Loki.
while Sylvie might feel like she fucked up and have an existential crisis, i highly doubt that she would feel apologetic to the very people who kidnapped her when she was a child and stalked her with an ill intent. "these new Kangs are bad so you were right when you destroyed my world and oppressed me" doesn't feel like an authentic Sylvie response. she most probably feels bad for pushing Loki away, but not to the point of self-depreciation and begging for forgiveness since she still felt backstabbed by him bc he did betray her, technically - he went back on his word and got in the way of her glorious purpose.
let's now move on to the aspects of her characterization that are pretty essential. i won't be elaborating too much on these for now.
she is assertive and strong-willed.
she does everything on her own terms, never compromising.
the themes of freedom and choice play a very important role in her story.
she has the pathological trust issues, and some anger issues as well.
she has probably been to every corner of the multiverse without ever settling in one place, so she never got to properly socialize within any cultural framework and she was exposed to the countless cultures. so, she has to be very nonconforming.
a glorious purpose means everything to Sylvie. it gives her life a meaning and is her driving force. out of all Lokis, it's probably Sylvie who values and prioritizes the glorious purpose the most.
she is truly like a feral cat in many ways.
she is the Multiverse Liberator.
(i always thought that out of all fictional characters, Sylvie is the most similar to Arya from ASOIAF btw)
but in the end of the day, we are still a new fandom, so it's understandable that there aren't many fics that have an astonishingly canon accurate characterization. it's ok and please don't hold yourself back from writing Sylvie if you are unsure about her characterization. the more you write and try, the better your vision of a character becomes! that's how the writing improves. also, i would encourage you to explore Sylvie's relationships with other characters as well. i mean, there is just so much to Sylvie's dynamic with Kang and Ravonna, it'd be interesting to write about Sylvie's journey around the multiverse, you all could let your imagination go absolutely wild, the Postman could be the ultimate OC in Sylvie fics (fancasting Will Sharpe, Sophia Di Martino's husband, as the legendary Postman)...
anyways, i think Sylki and Sylvie writers are some of the best fan writers out there (bc let's be real, there are not a lot of fandoms that characterize their faves very accurately to begin with), i'm only trying to say that if you are interested in writing very in-character, it won't be difficult since Sylvie is pretty strongly characterized in the series.

Extremely late thoughts on episode four:
I’m sorry is this a doctor who episode? I cannot see the intro with what looks like the time vortex and not go doo wee doo!
Why did Sylvie think it was a good idea to throw renslayer into the citadel? Like that’s such an obviously horrible plan! Edit: oh surprise surprise it was a horrible plan
Weren’t mobius and loki just behind victor? Where are they? Also yes it’s probably also a horrible idea to take him to the tva (not that they have many other options considering the loom is about to go into meltdown) and it’s probably going to be the thing that starts the tva in the first place
Edit: he’s spaghetti now
What the fuck is Sylvie doing here? Girl I thought you wanted to have a normal life
Oh so we’re just forgiving the genocidal general? Who murdered untold billions of billions of lives? And we’re giving her her job back? Delightful. Can’t see how this can go wrong (now I don’t trust saraquel whatever her name is in here)
I love how everyone is so excited to see ouroboros
Oh time is a circle! An ouroboros!!!
Oh my god victor likes and admires O.B is that why his memories were never wiped?
Mobius and Loki being married and Sylvie is so tired of their bickering
Also, theoretically, shouldn’t Loki/Sylvie be the best candidate to launch the whatever into the loom? I kind of hate that mcu keeps deliberately forgetting that they’re gods. Wouldn’t their strength and speed be to their advantage? Aren’t they more likely to survive more radiation than other tva employees who are (presumably) human? Also can’t they use magic to move the thingy without even getting out there? We know they have telekinesis!
Oh my god I’m so tired of Sylvie’s bullshit! I liked her last season! “You want to leave it to them?” Yes? They are the engineers?? Wtf is he supposed to do right now? Is he supposed to invent the solution to a problem you created? When will you take responsibility? At least Loki and mobius and b-15 and everyone else are trying to do something while you were chilling at a mcdonalds!!! You started this by killing he who remains without a second thought about the consequences and now you’re accusing mobius that he doesn’t care what happens to the timelines? Mobius who’s been working to save everything?
I’m not going to feel bad for the woman who killed literally untold numbers of people but jfc that was horrific
X-5 after seeing your colleagues turned into mush you’re still going to follow ravonna?
That wasn’t very surprising but still! Good job honey! You saved yourself!
I love that Loki bickered with mobius about which one of them would put on the suit but in the end he volunteered without a second of hesitation
Oh my god
Oh my god he turned into spaghetti
I feel so bad for victor now??? I was waiting for him to turn evil but he was just nice? And brave?? And he died???

After a trip to ibiza which ended with you having the best night of your life with a guy called Otis because of lifts you were sad to be back in Chicago. Well not only that. You never got otis's number. You really liked him and wished that you could take your relationship further. I guess mother nature really is cruel.
A few days after your return you were walking the streets of Chicago on the phone to your best friend as you both had always said "for safety purposes" when you heard the loudest screech ever. You turned to look to see there had been a car crash on a major junction. You quickly hung up the phone and called the emergency services for them to help. Then everything happened so quickly there was a bang, immense heat and pain. You were slightly delirious as you hit your head but thankfully hadn't been burned by the explosion which happened within millimetres of you.
The ambulance and fire trucks turned up and you looked around at what was happening. You were introduced to women called sylvie and gabbie and both seemed very nice. They saw you had a gash on the side of your head so had to do a concussion check. Whilst following sylvies finger to the left you noticed one firefighter had OTIS written on the bottom of his coat. You mumbled otis. The girls looked at each other and asked what you meant. You said how you met a guy called otis and wished you could find him after your holiday in ibiza. Sylvie giggled that's funny that otis went to ibiza recently let me call him over. Gabby had stitched your gash as it only needed small amount of steri-strips. Once it had cleared out you noticed their otis making his way over to you when you realised it was also YOUR otis. You smiled "omg otis its you I thought I would never find you again" He smiled and hugged you "I felt the same way Y/N I really like you" you quickly replied "me too" then all of a sudden his face dropped as he saw the stitches "are you okay what happened?" you thought for a while "im not sure I was on the phone to my best friend and then I heard a screech and saw the crash and then there was an explosion" He nodded "well at least you are ok and maybe in a few days did you want to get a drink I own a bar called mollys where we can get drinks" You smiled and nodded "its a date then".
Little did you know that one crash could reunite you and your holiday romance with soon turned to boyfriend to fiancee to husband to father of your 3 kids. You could never be happier
A/N
Well I am not the best of writing but I am half asleep writing this so if there are any mistakes please forgive me

RIP Loki, indeed
To jog your memory regarding Thor’s life story, Hemsworth and Waititi have helpfully put together a brief recap of the thunder god’s arc. But they, uh, kinda forgot someone. Valkyrie, Hulk, and Korg are all featured, but there’s nary a mention of you-know-who. Which I guess isn’t surprising, given Hemsworth’s bitterness over having his character outshone by a superior actor, but it still feels awfully petty.
Hiddleston has claimed that he doesn’t know whether he’ll be in Love and Thunder (other than as a tattoo on Thor’s back), so I assume they filmed a small cameo or post-credit scene which may or may not make it into the final cut. At first I was disappointed that Loki isn’t in L&T, but you know what, it’s probably for the best. Waititi hasn’t made any secret about his scorn for Loki -- I mean, some of it seems tongue-in-cheek but even if you start out kinda jokily throwing shade, there’s a good chance the joking vibe eventually turns serious. And if that was the general attitude on the set of Ragnarok, it couldn’t have been pleasant for Tom, even if he tried his best to go along with it.
To be clear, I actually enjoy Ragnarok (fun fact: it was the first movie I saw with Loki in it), and Taika did give Loki a chance to shine during the evacuation of Asgard, and gave the brothers a couple tender moments (BUT NO HUG WTF WE WERE ROBBED) -- but the emotion was rushed and undercut with jokes, the characters’ arcs were screwed up (Thor became a total jerkface tbh), plus Taika started the whole trend toward dumbass Thor and clownshoes Loki, for which I’ll never forgive him.
I thought it was interesting when Tom was talking about what’s next for Loki, and said something like “the audience wants to see him reconcile with his brother” (can’t find the link right now, but it was a recent interview or speech that came out after the series). I would think that much of the audience actually (and unfortunately) wants to see Loki reconcile with Sylvie, so Tom’s choice of words is quite ... revealing. It seems like he wants the brothers to have a true, heartfelt conclusion to their journey instead of the half-assed crap we got in Ragnarok. (I also suspect there has been some friction between the two actors, which Tom hopes to repair.) But will it happen?
Given that Hemsworth said that he only agreed to L&T bcs Taika was directing it, and given that Taika doesn’t seem to be interested in working with Loki/Tom, I don’t think there’s much hope that the Odinsons will team up again. Unless (and I know this is straight-up blasphemy but honestly I would be in favor of it) Thor was recast with an actor who’s better at drama and can hold his own against Hiddleston’s formidable talent. I mean, I liked Hemsworth as Thor, and honestly thought his acting was ok-ish, but he’s clearly more suited for comedy -- or for roles where he just has to run around and shoot at things. Which, you know, everyone needs to find their niche. It’s just too bad that Loki (and Tom) got fucked over in the process.
