Controversial opinion but I don’t actually need canon romances in order to enjoy a game. What I do need is good writing where I have space to potentially hc one… or have strong platonic bonds…

People who see entire demographics of humanity as “the enemy” are so baffling to me, whether they’re incels/misogynists or racists or radfems or whomever I just look at them and wonder why you’d choose a life of such misery. People of a certain gender, sexuality, race or whatever demographic are not inherently your enemy just because they are part of said demographic. Gender and race essentialism is incredibly dangerous and untrue and it especially confuses me when people who claim to be trans allies abide by the former because that mindset is especially dangerous to trans people.
People are individuals, not a hive mind. Society as a whole has massive issues, and some groups may benefit from them more than others (like how the patriarchy hurts men but they still benefit from it far more than women ever will because it has men in mind, albeit only a certain type of man), but individuals are individuals. And what a depressing life it must be to instead navigate the world believing that millions of people are beneath you before they’ve even spoken a word.

Would you guys believe me if I said I’ve been working on a review of a show for months and it’s still no where near close to being done?
I wrote down pros, cons, a final conclusion and even my thoughts on some of the characters and I still don’t feel done.

i was just catching up some more on ordem but i’m so sleepy rn i decided to stop before i fell asleep at my computer, only to take out my earbuds and hear my dad watching a video in portugese right next to me
it took me a second to realize that i couldn’t understand the words not bc i was tired out of my mind but bc it was in literally a different language, then the jolt of ‘why the fuck is my dad watching a video in portugese’ fully jolted me back awake

Listening to Gordon Lightfoot’s if you could read my mind at age 10:
Listening to Gordon Lightfoot’s If you could read my mind when he says “I don’t know where we went wrong, but the feeling’s gone and I just can’t get it back” as an adult:

actually tbh i think the reason i don’t like being called “wlw” or “sapphic” is bc i fought really, really hard to feel proud of being bisexual and have had so many (unfortunately often gay) people tell me i’m not/gross/lying for saying i’m bi. so being loud about it is really important to me! and sometimes it feels like being told to be quiet and use a less offensive or controversial word for my identity. i know that that is absolutely not the intention behind the terms wlw and sapphic—they’re intended to be inclusive to bi+ people! and yet they feel so alienating to me

The perception that classical music is somehow more arcane and esoteric than any other kind of music is 90% of the reason people are so totally uninterested in it. Most people seem to have just decided that there’s no way they’ll ever understand or enjoy classical music, so the second it comes up they turn their brain off and refuse to even try to engage with the material because it’s ‘boring and too hard’. It’s the same shit with math, or physics, or any other ‘difficult’ subject that people arbitrarily hate cuz it’s ‘RelAtAbLe’ to not understand it.
You literally might as well talk to a brick wall because people are obstinate that 1: they’re incapable of learning difficult things and 2: even if they could learn a difficult thing it wouldn’t be worth their time and effort because the subject matter isn’t cool enough to justify spending time on
