Just a Scratch - Goro Majima x Reader
Summary: This wasn't the first time he came home in the middle of the night beaten up.
Warnings: Minor spoilers from Kiwami 1
Available on AO3
Tumblr media
The outside of Kamurocho's bright neon city lights shined warmly through your bedroom curtains as you slept. Tonight was quiet. Too quiet and lonely. Tonight was one of those nights when you couldn't fall asleep. You roll over to stare at the empty spot on the other side of the bed; desolated and cold. It lacked your lover. Nighttime was when you longed for him the most. You only ever get to see him when he leaves for work and when he comes home at night. Going many hours each day without seeing him makes you yearn for his presence. A good day is when Majima comes home to you.
Of course, being a patriarch has more responsibilities and also requires him to attend to more important matters. He'd be lucky if he was able to come home before dusk. But that was rare.
You roll back over to your side to glance at the clock. Almost midnight. You'd only been in bed for nearly two hours and not a feeling of drowsiness hit you. At least he'll be home anytime now. You make an attempt to try to sleep.
Not even ten minutes in and the sound of three loud knocks erupts you from your sleep. The noise startles you as you sit up quickly, feeling your heart pacing rapidly. The continuous loud knocking begins to strike a nerve in you.
"Alright... Alright..." You shout as you sluggishly get out of bed.
You drag yourself to the front door, rubbing your face as you unlock the deadbolt and the knob. Upon opening the door stood Majima; beaten and bruised up.
What shocked you even more was his new attire: A dirty pink bodycon dress with torn fish net stockings, tousled blond wig, and press-on nails. The makeup was surprisingly well-kept on his face despite how badly wounded the rest of his body was.
You then remembered this morning before he left, he spoke to you about an idea he had in mind to lure Kiryu: If there was one thing that many men loved, it was women.
But you didn't expect Majima to come home dressed as a hostess.
"Sorry if I woke ya up. I lost my key."
You took no time to pulling him into your home. "What the hell happened to you this time?"
Majima follows you from behind, removing and tossing the pink high heels onto the floor at the front door in the process. A sly grin appears on his face. "I uh, got my butt beat again by Kiryu-chan." He follows you into the bathroom.
Ever since Kiryu got out of prison, Majima has been coming up with weird ideas.
Majima sits on the seat of the toilet. He watches as you dig through the cabinet searching for your medical supplies. It felt like a ritual to patch him up every time he came home injured. He never complained once about it. He secretly enjoyed being doctored up by you. Physical touch was a love language of his.
You set out bandages, rubbing alcohol, and pads on the sink then leaving in search for a bath towel in the bedroom.
"I thought Goromi would have been the perfect hostess to make him swoon." He removes the messy blond wig. "Almost had him too!"
"Maybe he's not into buff women." You shout from outside of your bedroom.
As Majima waits for your return, he begins to undress himself. The tight fabric of the dress was making it impossible for his fingertips to reach the zipper. Even trying to pull the dress downward didn't budge. "What a goddamn pain." He grumbles. "Who the hell makes these dresses where ya can't even get out of?!"
You quickly return to him, unzipping the dress for him revealing. Large bruises already forming on his bare back.
"Thank you, doll." He sighs in relief.
"This has to be the most uncomfortable thing I've ever worn." He removes the pink thong before wrapping a towel around his waist. "Do ya think pink looks good on me?" He jokes.
"I think it accentuates your figure." You glance up at him. A faint bruise was starting to appear on his jaw and a few scrapes scattered amongst his face.
"I'm sorry your idea didn't go as planned." You remove his eyepatch before getting started. Your hands cups both sides of his cheeks to examine the damage. You then reach for the gauze wipe then the alcohol. After lightly dousing the wipe, you cautiously dab his face.
"Ah, don't be sorry. I had fun." He winces at the feeling of the alcohol wipe stinging his cheek. "You should'ave seen Kiryu blushin'." He chuckles softly.
"So Goromi, huh?"
Majima laughs to himself. "Oh yeah. Now that you reminded me. I gotta a great story to tell ya."
Tumblr media
After disposing the used gauze and band aids, you return to him to observe his beaten face. The condition was slight better than it was prior.
"I'm worried for you."
"How so?"
"I'm worried that one of these nights you won't come home."
"Aw Y/N-chan..." His voice trails. His hands roam up your waist. "Don't be havin' those thoughts, besides it feels like I only took a scratch." He gives you a reassuring smile.
"I get that you enjoy fighting, but there's only so many times you can do it before something bad happens to you."
Majima sighs. His hands move to your wrists, taking them in his hands. "Darlin' I've told you many times I can't quit. It ain't no easy job. Hell, I've been a yakuza my whole life and I'm still kicking."
Majima was extremely defensive when it came to you preaching concern about his brawling habits. There was no way he was backing down something that he enjoyed doing. But with what you said was true. All the times he got into conflict, the thought of him ending up dead never crossed his mind. He had gotten an earful from you when he came home from the hospital a couple of weeks ago when one of his subordinate's accidently stabbed him. He could see why an incident like that concerned you for his safety.
"I may have some cuts and bruises, but I'm still here. I ain't goin' nowhere. I promise."
"Promise?"
He pulls you into his lap. "As long as come home to see my Y/N-chan." His lips peck yours, leaving a faint lipstick stain on your lips.
Your hand runs through his messy undercut. "I'll be waiting for you in bed."
"You're not gonna join me?" He whines. "I haven't seen my Y/N-chan all day."
You took your time contemplating the idea.
"At least let me return you the favor." He purrs. "I gotta show how much I appreciate all that you've done for me."

More pirate yakuzer ending ranting (I have been so unwell literally all day over this fuckass game it's not even funny)
It's so fucked up to me that pirate yakuza technically had a "perfect ending". Like you literally have one of the most upbeat endings to a yakuza game I can think of; everyone won, none of the protagonists' allies/friends/family had to die to make it happen (INSANE concept for a yakuza game I know, rgg should be proud of themselves for that one), they found the damn treasure and kept it all without tearing each other apart over it, Noah got to fulfill his dream without getting traumatized, the Rich family's relationship is. Well idk if it's completely fixed but it's certainly better now. AND Majima got payback on that fuckass squid that made him lose his memories. And Majima Construction's getting back off the ground to help wrap up the whole ex-yakuza conflict as a neat little bonus.
Like, in terms of conflict resolution, this is as good as it's gonna get like ever. Straight up fairytale "the real treasure was the friends we made along the way" levels of success right there. Pretty much Any other Yakuza game would Never give you an ending this clean without any heartbreak to agonize over. Or at least that's how it Seems, for like 98% of the ending sequence, and then the game throws some of the most gut wrenching shit ever at you.
Majima was literally able to (again, without ANY losses) accomplish everything he could've possibly wanted in Hawaii. Except the One Thing he sought out to find when he left for Hawaii in the first place, before the game even started. He ran off to chase after a fantasy, and you know he did basically find what would be a fantasy to anyone else, but it wasn't the one he was looking for.
The hard dose of reality in the last few minutes of the game was a Crazy move. Pyih as a whole lowkey felt like a fever dream, but that last scene, the dawning realization of Why Majima was going to Hawaii in the first place was like waking up and realizing that things still kind of suck in the real world.
Also just like. The theme of dreams in general? (Oh my god it's like yakuza 5 all over again no way). Noah's dream to see the world, Jason's dream to finally find that treasure, Rodriguez's too while we're at it, etc. Literally everyone got their dream fulfilled on that fuckass adventure despite how hopeless it all seemed at the start. Or at least, almost everyone's. Majima's dream before he got amnesia was equally as hopeless and absurd if not more, because he, technically, should know better. In any other circumstance if someone told Majima Goro that there was some magical treasure that could make you live forever and Also hopefully cure cancer he'd laugh in their face, but the way Saejima described his actions made it seem like he was, really, dead serious (or just desperate. Definitely desperate) on trying to find it. And well, we all know how that turned out. Hell its even worse because basically according to Saejima, Majima's dream was so much bigger than just that treasure, it was Kiryu himself. And we all know how hopeless That's been for who knows how long at this point. (Something something "guys our age are supposed to be smart enough not to go chasin' legends." something something Kiryu constantly bring referred to as the "legendary yakuza/dragon")
(On a sidenote, it's so fucking funny to me that everyone on Nele Island (including Majima if he hadn't gotten amnesia on the way there) was basically going "*rubs hands together* I'm going to look for this secret ancient treasure behind the others' backs and Not tell anyone else about it" all at the same time. That's pretty fucking hilarious, if I ignore the absolute agony of the Majima Implications. I love you pirate yakuza you were such a game)
And then as if all that wasn't enough, the game makes sure to give you an extra kick in the dick by basically telling you that the "eternal life elixir" that everyone was looking for was under their noses the Entire Time. They were literally All There where it was, and now it's at the bottom of the ocean, and the only man who knew about it is dead.
Not that it really mattered by then, for the mostpart. Everyone who was after the treasure had basically made their peace that the legend they were hunting after wasn't gonna be there. Jason and Noah, most notably, decided that they ultimately didn't need it, because Noah would be fine, and his condition wouldn't hold him down. Like he said, it could be a lot worse. But considering Majima's. Dubious amounts of peace he's made with Kiryu, and the fact that he, out of everyone in the crew, was left in the dark about those final clues about where the "treasure" really was? Damn. That's crazy. That shit hurted.
Also the fact that they literally made Majima encounter a whale too when that's where the "Heart of the Dragon" originated from? Bro was so close to finding what he was "truly" looking for so many times. And he basically Just missed every step of the way. And I just think that's a little fucked up.
Like idk, just the fact that rgg can pack so much bittersweetness into such a generally joyful game in the span of like 10 minutes is insane. The way that they can cast the whole game in a different light, by revealing Majima’s true intentions for his Hawaii trip, by having his last line of the game basically take it all back to the beginning (woah re-playability) but in what feels like almost an entirely different, far more depressing context, was genius. (Do you think that Kiryu ever got to know that Majima went to Hawaii for him or do you think that Majima plans to keep that part in the dark forever? I mean he was willing to die for Haruka once because he knew that she was one of the only joys in Kiryu's life and he sure as hell didn't get to know about that soo...). Just. Damn rgg. They really had me thinking this would be their one game that was almost entirely feel-good (for the mainstory at least), only to me serve the most insane gut punch I've felt in a While. Good job guys.
Tl;dr That ending ruined my entire day. It was perfect. Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is a love story guys pack up and go home.

regarding this excellent and lengthy back and forth on the relationship between kiryu and majima, at the end of the day I'm not sure how much the intent of the creators really matters, at least to me. the text is ambiguous enough to support multiple interpretations of their relationship in a way that feels potent; this is true of many of the key relationships in the series, but especially so between the male yakuza leads, and that ambiguity is a deep part of what makes them all narratively potent. protagonists in the series — well, with the possible exception of kasuga, who exists to be Not That — generally straddle two or more worlds in a way that lets them go anywhere and do anything but never without conflict. it's a slipperiness that allows the series to frame them now as heroes, now as villains, both to the audience and to each other. this is true of kiryu—simultaneously yakuza hardass and softhearted orphanage manager, the quintessence of masculinity and an eternal moral infant—but it is especially true of majima, who is given a backstory that frames everything down to his accent as an intentional performance to keep everyone around him from reading him truly. if kiryu has multiple faces from multiple angles, narratively, majima has multiple faces simultaneously. kiryu is different things for different people, but majima is different things for everyone at all times, masks over faces over demons over posturing, both narratively and visually.
so how do you have a concrete answer to how either of these characters feel about each other? how do you have an answer about how majima feels about anyone that you can take as anything other that ambiguous? regardless of translations or speeches, the two of them have been circling each other for years, and are bound together in a complicated network of favors exchanged and mutual legendariness.
and then beyond that, neither of them is, i think, capable of accepting love from the other in a regular way. kiryu in particular is a man so wracked with guilt and self-loathing that he couldn't even allow himself to receive the much less complicated familial love of the orphanage, how could he possibly accept the thorny and fraught love of another adult?

Various | Unhealthy Relationship Traits
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Characters: Masato Aizawa, Akira Nishikiyama(x2), Reina, Osamu Kashiwagi, Kaoru Sayama, Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima, Taiga Saejima, Shun Akiyama + Masaharu Kaito & Takayuki Yagami | GN! Reader
Prompt: Toxic/Unhealthy relationship traits
Note: Feel free to disagree. I don't claim to know it all and I'm not trying to tear down anyone's fave. I know with xreader type stuff, I sorta tend to overly romanticize our faves but I also get a lot of enjoyment out of thinking about ways they could fail. Rounding them out. I try to acknowledge that they're individuals who are less than perfect and deeply flawed despite trying their best.
Tumblr media
Well, they’re far from perfect…
Tumblr media
MASATO AIZAWA
Codependency. When he gets attached to someone, he sort of wraps himself up in them. They become almost one and the same. If he’s in need of reason, they’re the only person he listens to. His biggest fear, whether he admits it or not, is losing that person. He often acts off impulse and so, he desperately needs an anchor. Without it, he would spiral out of control for a while until he can find himself again.
AKIRA NISHIKIYAMA (Y0)
Jealousy. He’s about ready to come to blows if he suspects certain people are checking his s/o out. He gets pissy if he thinks that his partner is “too friendly” with someone else and will accuse them of flirting. If they’re out together, he may let them leave his side but they won’t be out of his sight for long. He wants his partner to succeed but not so much that he deems they’re doing better than him– or rather, they’d be better off without him. He doesn’t even like the idea of his partner making more than him.
AKIRA NISHIKIYAMA (K)
Trust Issues. Even if he knew that his s/o was someone who is incapable of lying, he’d still be hard pressed to take everything they do or say in stride without scrutinizing it. He thinks they’re only telling half truths. He doesn’t believe that they want to be with him and are only there until they’ve taken what they can get. He snoops. He questions. He has them followed under the guise of protecting them, meanwhile, his men are reporting each detail back to him– no matter how mundane.
REINA
Conflict Avoidant. She used to be more upfront about her feelings but now, she hesitates to even acknowledge to herself that she’s upset or hurt. She hesitates to issue blame and tries to rectify issues on her own. She’s more likely to accept fault, even when it’s glaringly obvious that she’s not the issue. It’s easier for her to beat herself up for doing something wrong to make her partner behave or react poorly than it is for her to tell them that they’re wrong. She allows her grievances to build up until she’s unable to take it anymore and instead of finally addressing it, she will simply check out.
OSAMU KASHIWAGI
Poor communication. In one world, he’s used to settling his problems with his fists but in the one he shares with his s/o, that’s out of the question. On the one hand, he’s fairly pragmatic but when it comes to his love life, he doesn’t know how to use his words. Or rather, he does know how but he just assumes that if he throws enough hints, he won’t have to. He can be passive aggressive sometimes. He’s even got a bad habit of stonewalling his partner instead of just discussing whatever issues may be afoot.
KAORU SAYAMA
Stubbornness. She has difficulty admitting when she needs help. She has difficulty admitting when she’s wrong. She struggles to apologize. She’s so headstrong that it can be her greatest detriment. She has the self awareness to understand whatever situation she’s in, but she’s hesitant to admit the fact that she’s flawed. It takes a lot of build up for her to open her mouth, be it to ask for help or to say she’s sorry.
KAZUMA KIRYU
Avoidant. The amount of conflicts he thinks can be resolved simply by walking away should be studied. He will humor his s/o with maybe 10-15 minutes of a serious argument before he packs his things and leaves to ‘clear his head’. Sometimes he’s gone for merely hours, others he’s gone for days, to the point that they’ll begin to wonder if he’s even going to come back. He’s not proud of it but he thinks that that’s the best way to keep from hurting/upsetting his partner more than he already has. He’ll promise not to walk away then break that promise not much long after.
GORO MAJIMA
Disrespectful. He can be mean. His s/o could truly be the center of his world. If he was put in a position where he had to lose his only eye in order to keep them safe, he likely wouldn’t hesitate but that doesn’t change how horrible he can be when he’s upset. Thankfully, it takes a lot to get him to that point but he’s got a nasty mean streak when it suits him. His insults can be laced with venom. He says things that will stick, even long after he’s apologized for it and the craziest thing? So often, he doesn’t even mean what he’s said. It was simply the heat of the moment.
TAIGA SAEJIMA
Disinterest in Change. He doesn’t realize how stubborn he is until he’s sitting next to his partner who is pleading with him to make changes. As much as he hates to admit it, he’s got a bit of a complacency streak. He just gets so comfortable that the idea of doing things any differently sort of bothers him. He’s a firm believer of if something ain’t broke, dont fix it.
SHUN AKIYAMA
Wandering Eye. If someone catches his eye, he wouldn’t fight his natural instinct to check them out. As far as he’s concerned, so long as he doesn’t do anything about his attraction to other people, it doesn’t really count. He could be hand in hand with his s/o and damn near break his neck watching an attractive passerby. If his partner communicates that this makes them uncomfortable, he’ll have a difficult time empathizing because he thinks that looking is natural and being upset by it speaks to insecurity rather than it actually being wrong.
MASAHARU KAITO
Overprotective. He trusts his s/o but it’s other people he feels he has to watch out for. Even if his partner has asked him to relax and attempted to assure him that they can handle themselves, he’s still going to keep an eye out. His protectiveness can be both endearing and overbearing. It’s not uncommon for a situation to escalate simply because he felt it necessary to intervene when it wasn’t. Impulse takes over and all he’s got at the forefront of his mind is that his s/o is in trouble and he’s not going to wait around for someone else to be the hero.
TAKAYUKI YAGAMI
Boundary Overstepping. He can’t handle not knowing things. Being in the dark irks him both personally and professionally. If he ever feels like his s/o is hiding something from him, he will get to the bottom of it. He pokes and prods and pries. Many times he doesn’t even realize that he’s overstepping until his partner is (rightfully) lashing out at him for not minding his business. In his mind, he’s an open book with nothing to hide and he can’t fathom why his partner wouldn’t be the same.

UGH daigo who pretends to wanna see strip shows and go drinking as a 12 year old because he knows everyone around him isn't cool with him being a kid, so he tries to be less lame, to be more convenient. yeah, you can take me anywhere. in fact, you have to. i'll show you just how grown i am.
daigo who sheaths himself in black clothes, all bark and some bite, all dark and mysterious. all touch me and you'll get burned. playing hard to get. not that he doesn't want to be alone, but he sure as hell doesn't want to be lonely. and for that people have to like him. want to follow him. he's got to be a magnet. leave me alone, i'm not worth your time. so whoever picked him up from the gutter would really have to want him.
daigo who struggles to get his men in line as sixth chairman. daigo who only took the job because kiryu finally needed him. daigo who's never as good as the fourth chairman (who retired after a day, who never had to be chairman). daigo who never holds that against kiryu.
daigo who does what needs to be done, daigo who makes impossible decisions. daigo who rises to the occasion and swears in, daigo determined to be a better man than sohei ever was. daigo who sees the clan as his family, and tries to protect everyone in it. daigo who refuses to screw over kiryu's new family, and daigo who is shot for it. daigo who keeps the clan from tearing each other apart, whose absence brings out the worst in them. daigo who wakes up from a coma and saves kiryu and mine, daigo who comforts mine after, unable to even sit up properly. daigo who takes on a whole baseball team to protect his high school baseball team, daigo who's expelled and thrown in juvie for it. daigo who takes the hit because he knows he'll be yakuza someday anyway. daigo who protects his city. daigo who protects his men. daigo who works a way to offer his broke high school buddy millions of yen and another chance at his dream into his plans. daigo who shows his enemies mercy, daigo who rushes out injured to save the people who've helped him. daigo who tries to get kiryu off charges, who tries to push him to stay with his new family. daigo who loves his father fiercely, daigo who can be relied on. daigo who takes care of people.
daigo who kiryu gives the guidance he needs. daigo who kiryu pulls from depression, daigo who kiryu comes to rescue. majima comes back to the yakuza for, and kiryu who makes him, so he's not alone. daigo who shows mine what it means to care for others, why that's a trait worth dying for. daigo who mine feels he is not worthy of, daigo for whom mine sacrifices himself. daigo whom kiryu covers up mine's betrayal for because he didn't want to hurt him, and because mine was better than that. daigo who's forgiven for selling out majima, for getting caught in something stupid. daigo the "little chef". daigo who kiryu nearly jumps off a building to reach when he's shot, and saejima who holds him back. kiryu who leaves a letter for him, and not haruka, the always-chosen. daigo who's joined by saejima and majima when the tojo crumbles and they have to hide. daigo whose men follow him in the security company afterwards.
daigo who needed to be loved. daigo who loved anyway. daigo who was loved.

Okay so I finished Yakuza 0 on Monday, because I wanted finish that sucker before I went back to work after ten days of leave. Thoughts below, both about game things and storyline things, in no particular order~
I have too many feelings. This is not new, I have always had too many feelings, but now I have them about this series. Aaaaaargh.
For context, you should I played Kiwami first (I know that's technically the wrong order, but Kiwami was on Switch, and I only got access to a PS4 after I finished Kiwami). This meant I cried when I realised Reina was going to show up, and my heart hurt so much so often over Nishiki. But I am so so glad he got to be a good guy in 0. So glad. Even if it HURT.
I was shit at Fantasy Zone in 1991 on the Game Gear, and I'm still shit Fantasy Zone. This ties into something I really loved about the 1988 city settings - the arcade games you could play in this were the games I remember playing (or watching people play in the case of Space Harrier) in the arcades myself! In the same year, some of them!
Relatedly, The Miracle Johnson subquest made me do three things: 1) want to die of awkward, 2) cackle like a banshee because of that whole burying MJ working with Sega in the 90s thing where they tried to pretend it never happened and people went "bro this is Stranger in Moscow in your game bro BRO", 3) smile sadly, because it was also perfectly observed for what would have happened in 1988 with that particular star, and I remember when he WAS a star and we didn't know he was an absolute monster, and jesus, six year old me cried somewhere over that.
The whole game was just a trip for someone born in the early 80s, who was a pop culture nerd, who knows the history of Sega, who LIVED the history of Sega, and for that alone I fucking loved the game. Well. Most of it.
Media King can FUCK OFF. THAT FUCKING DANCING GAME. FUCK YOU YOU OLD BASTARD ALSO WHY ARE YOU TETSUYA NAITO, FUCK OUTTA HERE
I am vexed at how much more fun I had fighting as Majima than I did as Kiryu (up until I got Dragon style, which still rules). Fighting Breaker Majima in Kiwami annoyed the holy living piss out of me, so you bet I fought as much in that style as possible on the Majima side. I love you Kiryu but would it kill ya to learn a dancing fighting style? How bout some Capoeira?
I didn't ship it, but I teared up a bunch of times over Majima and Makoto and I loved that part of the story so much. Remember I've come from Kiwami; I've not experienced the Mad Dog of Shimano doing things like showing tenderness. I knew that he was restrained in this one, but I assumed he was emotionally shut down entirely, and... He kinda is, or he wants to be, but he can't help but want to look after this incredibly vulnerable person and aaaaaaaaaaargh aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH
On a similar note, I found restrained Majima *painfully*relatable. I am not saying I have anything in common with a guy who turned into an emotional shut in because he lost someone desperately important to him and was subsequently tortured for months on end but I do relate hard to becoming a ghost of yourself, and as I have only just come out of an extended period of exactly that... man. MAN. So many Feelings.
I am not okay about Nishitani.
I am not okay about Tachibana.
That post credit sequence was the most emotional whiplash I think I have ever experienced. Music boxes, musical lockets, shit like that, guaranteed to make me cry, just, like, in real life or whatever. They make me emotional okay I don't even know why. Makoto finding hers repaired and playing music: SOBBING. It cuts straight to THIS PAIR OF IDIOTS and the last thing said in the entire game is an absolutely joyous "KIRYU-CHAN!" and I CACKLED LIKE EVERY BANSHEE IN IRELAND. MY PARTNER ASKED IF I WAS OKAY. FOR FUCK'S SAKE. NO I AM NOT OKAY OH MY GOD.
I am now having a small break, in part not to burn myself out but in part because I really need to give P - my partner - back his PS4 for a bit. I begged him to let me use it for Yakuza because I loved Kiwami so so much, but there wasn't anything else on the Switch, and I'm normally a Switch gamer. And he agreed, and to be clear he's fine with me using it, but I am also aware that I can't monopolise his console. But. On Saturday, when he's at work, it's Kiwami 2 time. What am I letting myself in for...

More Majima Gaiden! We have officially landed in Honolulu 🙌🏻 Happy to be back, I think this is my favourite city to run around in. Or maybe a shared #1 spot with Kamurocho.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm gonna be real honest with y'all. These boat sections are ASS and I dread them every time. I despise all things vehicle-related in these games and this is no exception. My blood pressure spikes just thinking about this now...
Tumblr media
Your Honor... I would die for them. Protect them. Please.
Majima is very good with kids! I'm not surprised per se, but it did make me feel stunned.
Tumblr media
...Majima is now officially a proper Yakuza protagonist; he has a pet chicken AND he's fought a beast.
The bear looks so pissed off 😭😭 its expression reminds me of Kiwami Kiryu's constantly angry facial expression.
Tumblr media
HIII NISHIDAAAA MY SWEET BOY MY DARLING MY BELOVED ❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭❤️😭😭 WELCOME BACK MY KING ❤️❤️ This is the best day of my life....
Minami is here too!! I'm so happy!! I always wanted to see more of him ;; They haven't aged a day, what kind of fountain of youth do they have at Majima Family HQ??? You'd think Nishida would look like he's 100 considering how stressful his life has been 😭
I love how these two didn't question Majima's outfit qkjrkwkwkw Nishida especially has seen him doing much weirder shit, so my mans is just totally unfazed.
What's with these old men and avoiding hospitals like the plague? GET IN THERE NOW 😭 You literally might have brain damage or something...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
😳😳
Um. Hello 👉🏻👈🏻🥺
What's that? She just fed a bunch of people to the sharks? God forbid women have hobbies 🙄
Tumblr media
HOW DOES HE PULL OFF THAT GAUDY HALF-SLEEVE SHIRT SO WELL 😩 Insane. I refuse to believe this man is 60 considering all the smoking he does and the major stress he's been through across the entirety of his lifespan. He looks... 35, maybe 40 at most.

Hiiiii!! Could I possibly ask for the boys reaction to their S/O being pregnant (if you're comfortable with that)? Your writing is so good aaahhh fuelling my Ryuji brainrot
CRACKS KNUCKLES yes I'm down for some sweet adorable fluff. Also Ryuji brainrot never ends, does it lol. Sorry for the delays, this one took a while. Enjoy!
Kazuma Kiryu
Has the calmest reaction of all the boys. Is quite happy to be having a child of his own. Pretty prepared for what's to come and generally remains calm throughout. Is noticeably more gentle when hugging you.
Majima Goro
His initial reaction: "I'm gonna have a kid?!". His reaction following that: "I'm gonna have a kid!! Hell yea!". Nervous as hell, maybe more so than you, but also just as excited. He's gonna go tell Saejima right away too.
Saejima Taiga
A mix between Kiryu and Majima's reactions. He's happy, frankly overjoyed, at the prospect of a family but he is worried. He hopes he can be a good father and a good partner to you in the process.
Akiyama Shun
Honestly, he's kind of like "Well... that was going to happen at some point". He's not against the idea of kids so don't take it personally if his reaction is kind of middling. It's honestly just something he expected to happen eventually with a long term partner. Takes it entirely in stride but is nervous deep down.
Tanimura Masayoshi
Surprised but isn't shell shocked. If anything, his reaction is to start getting serious about his work and finances. He'll start caring more about his health too and say stuff like "I gotta do better if I wanna be a good dad!". His dedication is admirable.
Ryuji Goda
Probably has the loudest reaction of all the boys. He is EXCITED. Ryuji doesn't seem like a family guy but the thought of having a little kid running around just gets him happy, he can't explain it. Maybe it's just because he loves you so much. Hope you're ready for an Omi celebration too.
Nishikiyama Akira
Openly nervous about it. He is excited by the prospect of having a family but he has a lot of worries as to whether or not he should. A lot of it has weird ties to his own childhood and Kazama. He'd never fault you for it as he knows this is something he has to deal with but you'll catch him mulling over it now and then.
Daigo Dojima
Overjoyed. There's no other word for it. Out of all the boys, Daigo is the one that's always actually wanted a family ever since he took over the Tojo Clan. Unlike Ryuji, he'd keep the celebrations private with you as he sees this time as deeply intimate for the both of you.
Mine Yoshitaka
Calm on the outside, panicking on the inside. Mine honestly never had expectations for romance let alone having a family but now that both are happening, it's one of the few times he's genuinely had no idea what to do. He'll compose himself pretty quickly though. Would help you design one fabulous nursery for the baby.
Tatsuo Shinada
Kind of freaking out about it. How's he going to support a family? How does one even have a family? How are babies made? The man's brain is emptying as we speak. Once the shock subsides, he's happy though. Shinada thinks babies are adorable, even if he has no idea how to change a diaper or anything.
Ichiban Kasuga
Similar reaction to Ryuji. He's kind of like "Hell yea, I'm going to be a dad!". Doesn't know what he's doing but also doesn't care. He's just excited to be on this journey with you. He'll be the most doting partner during your pregnancy.
Tianyou Zhao
Despite his laid back attitude, he reacts super sweetly to the news. He'll just hug you and smile. Words couldn't really express how he feels. Would cook you anything you crave during your pregnancy.
Joon-Gi Han
You'd think he might react badly but he's actually kind of relieved to hear he'll have a proper family. He's been on his own for so long that the idea of familial bliss felt like a fantasy. Out of all the boys, he'll be the first to start suggesting baby names.

I hit credits on Yakuza 4!
Thoughts below:
I really loved the soundtrack to this game in particular. Out of the four protagonists, Saejima is my new son. I don't care how old he is or how old I am.. that's my Boy. He did nothing wrong in his life, ever.
Akiyama is definitely the hottest, in a greasy kind of way. Like, he's got an interesting take on money and how to utilize it to better your life, but he's also manipulative and lazy. Pop a cranberry pill and hope to not get a UTI kinda guy. His relationship with Hana is SO INFURIATING because he's never going to admit how fucking integral to his happiness she is. I HATE that they made her lose all that weight in like, a month?! Fuck that noise. Fat Hana or nothing! I do love that he immediately went to feed her tho.
Kiryu is... Frustrating. I love him, and I understand him wanting to help the Tojo clan. He put a lot of pressure on Majima and Daigo and then fucked off to live straight, but realized that he could never really escape his loyalty to the clan. I get that the money was tied to Nishikiyama and Kazama, but like, the shit from '85 only came to a head because Saejima broke out. Kiryu technically didn't have to be involved.
Tanimura. First off, ACAB, so write that down. I like that he uses his crooked ways to find the immigrant population. His storyline felt the most tacked-on, but I appreciate the enriched storytelling between civilians, police, and yakuza. It really fleshed out Kamurocho, a city I thought I knew like the back of my hand, into a deeply layered microcosm of the racism and police corruption of Japan. Ma-chan is a cutie for sure, but he was never in it to be an actual civil servant, he only wanted answers/revenge for his dad. He should do like Date and be a private eye or something.
Overall I'm really pleased with this game and as always, I'll spend the next few days off that I have doing all the little substories that I missed.
Also, there's not enough fanfics set during 4, so I've gotta cook my own food, I guess.

Hey gotta ask , what happened to the “nishida visit hometown”fic?
They’re pretty good and interesting btw
thanks very much for the kind words!
nothing happened to it, I'm just slow at the best of times and I've been in the worst physical and mental state of my life for awile and increasingly.
anyway heres a preview :)
The Birthday Party
“…Okay,” Majima finally said, following a pause so long that Nishida had begun to physically sweat. “You’re off the hook for now. But don’t let this shit happen again, yeah?”
For a moment Nishida stayed perfectly still, waiting for the other shoe to drop. It didn’t. Majima stared, and then raised an eyebrow.
“Thank you, sir!” Nishida exclaimed, dropping to his hands and knees. “I really appreciate your generosity. Thank you!”
Apparently satisfied, Majima waved an airy gloved hand. “Just keep on your toes. I expect you to come back refreshed and ready to put your nose to the goddamn grindstone after this weekend.”
Nishida gaped, craning his head up. “Uh, sir… I can really still have the weekend off?” He hardly dared to hope; it was surprising enough that Majima was declining to punish him. It didn’t bear imagining that Nishida would get to keep his vacation, too. He ducked his head again, anticipating a screech as Majima revealed it was all a joke. But-
“Yup. You ain’t had a day off in at least a couple months, and you know Kiryu-chan’s gettin’ out of the big house before too long. I gotta have this family in ship-shape. Just don’t forget what I’m doin’ for you,” Majima said, and he smiled a smile that was somehow flat and cold.
“I won’t, sir!” Nishida leapt to his feet, and bowed low anew. “Thank you, sir! I won’t let you down!”
“Alright, that’s enough. You’re dismissed.” Leaning back in his fancy office chair, Majima pulled out a cigarette. Nishida went to light it.
“I said, you’re dismissed!” Majima snapped, pulling the cigarette away.
Rule number six of dealing with Majima: don’t push your luck. Hastily Nishida bowed one last time, and then fled the room, closing the door behind him.
A small crowd of the boys flinched back as Nishida exited. Some of them were holding ice packs and bottles of painkillers, ready to attend to the inevitable consequences of Nishida’s inevitable beating.
Or rather the beating Nishida himself would have assumed was inevitable a few minutes ago.
“Aniki?” one of them asked in surprise. “Are you done?”
“Uh, looks like it,” Nishida said, running a hand over his skull as though to check it were still in one piece. It was, aside from the old bruise and stitches over his eyebrow from last week (he’d almost forgotten about that). He could barely believe it himself.
“Whoa… he didn’t punish you?”
“Nope. He forgave me, and said something about wanting the Family to be in top shape for when K- for when something big happens later this year,” Nishida explained, quickly correcting himself so as not to give away the information about Kiryu. Nishida had no reason to believe Majima would be pissed off if others found out, but Nishida adhered carefully to rule 14: assume information is private unless told otherwise. Though he also tried to stick to rule 10, don’t wait for instructions if there’s a chance you’re supposed to act on your own. Sometimes it was hard to balance the two. Majima was nothing if not mercurial.
This time, though - this time Majima’s unpredictability was working in Nishida’s favor. It was a lovely little change. He’d expected to have to cancel on his mom; but instead, he headed home around 10 p.m. and threw some clothes into a bag. At midnight he caught the taxi he’d arranged in advance.
[nishida arrives in his hometown, goes to his mom's house, his old friend is there. after some dialogue she starts to roast him]
"I really don’t want to pry, but I care about you and I have to ask - you keep getting into accidents, it seems like you’re barely sleeping, you drink and smoke more than you used to. Nishi… are you on drugs?”
“No! Drop it, okay?” Nishida said, an edge of warning in his voice. This was unbelievable. Nishida was known in the Majima Family as a stick-in-the-mud lightweight, and in his hometown he’s suddenly branded as a hard-partying alcoholic? “I’ve told you before that accounting is demanding as hell. Yeah, I don’t get a lot of sleep. But I’ve always been clumsy. Don’t you remember the time we were biking up the hill and-“
“Nakai’s an accountant, and he’s doing just fine. He has weekends off-“
“Nakai does accounting for the local businesses, Kita,” Nishida said. “Tokyo’s a whole different ball game. It’s not really comparable. I promise I’m not on drugs. Okay?”
Kitahara’s mouth made a tight line. “Do you ever think about quitting?” she asked.
“What?”
“Aren’t you rich enough, now? You could get out anytime you wanted. You could retire, for fuck’s sake. Right?”
He toyed with the edge of the counter. “It’s… not that simple.”
“Why not? You have tons of money, right? You could live on it comfortably. Or are you in debt?”
“No. I’m debt free. Kita, stop coming up with conspiracy theories. I have a decent amount of money saved up, yes.”
“Then why keep working? You don’t like your job, so just quit. You could get a part-time thing, even. With a CV like yours, you could get any job you wanted.”
Nishida couldn’t suppress a sharp laugh. He hadn’t had a job that would look good an a CV for a decade. But he didn’t dwell on the irony. “I do like my job,” he insisted. “It’s fast-paced, sure, and it can be terrifying, but it’s exciting. I like my coworkers, I like the challenge, I like the flexibility I get. I’ve climbed pretty far, and I like that, too. The guys I supervise like me, and we work together well. I even like my boss, despite his idiosyncrasies.”
“He’s grinding you down to a pulp.”
She didn’t know how true the statement was. But, “Sure, he’s demanding,” Nishida shrugged. “Lots of bosses are. I wouldn’t trade him if I had the chance.”
The doorbell rang, cutting into Nishida’s speech. “I’ll get it,” he sighed. “Machida-san probably found out about mom’s party.”
“Old bitch,” Kitahara said good-naturedly, moving over to take Nishida’s spot at the counter.
Treading down the hall, Nishida double-checked that his shirt sleeves weren’t rolled up far enough to risk revealing a sliver of tattoo, and then he opened the door. “Hi,” he said. “Are you-“ And he froze.
“Sup,” Majima said. “I heard there was a birthday girl here?”
Nishida’s first instinct, after the cold sweat sweeping over him quieted down into terror, was to slam the door in Majima’s face.
Apparently years-old instincts of respect and obedience didn’t work outside of Kamurocho, because slamming the door in Majima’s face was just what Nishida did.
Majima jammed a steel-capped toe into the gap, preventing the door from closing completely. “How rude,” he said mildly. “I just came to celebrate your mom’s big day. She’s turning 70, right? That’s a big deal. It would be a shame if anything were to spoil the occasion.”
Nishida’s shirt was sticking to him. The summer day, once so pleasant, had become uncomfortably hot and cold at the same time. He wrenched the door open again. Majima smiled politely, as though nothing odd had happened. He was wearing a plain black suit, and he had a gift and flowers in his hands.
“Sir, could we… discuss this outside for a minute?” Nishida whispered weakly, still gripping the side of the door in a death grip. It might have been the only thing preventing him from collapsing to the ground.
“Hm? What’s there to discuss?” Majima asked innocently.
At just that moment, “Son?” Nishida’s mom called from the back hall, poking her head around the corner. “There’s - oh! Who’s this?”
“I’m Suzuki Goro,” Majima said quickly, with a slight bow. “I’m Nishida’s boss. Might you perhaps be the Nishida-san whose birthday I’ve come to celebrate?”
Nishida’s heart dropped into his stomach as his mom’s eyes widened. “Oh my!” she said and came hurrying down the hall. “Suzuki-san, please come in, it’s an honour to finally meet you!” She bowed low, multiple times, and, feeling sick, Nishida backed away from the door to give her space.
“He didn’t tell me you were coming,” Nishida’s mom fussed, puttering around Majima as though he had a coat for her to take. “I’m so sorry not to have given you a better greeting. Please, excuse my son’s rudeness and come join us.” She bowed again.
“Sure thing,” Majima said, smirking at Nishida over his mom’s head. “I do love a good party.”
“Wait,” Nishida said desperately. “Sir, sir, can’t I show you the front garden?”
“I seen it already, I came from the front. Gorgeous work, Nishida-san,” Majima said, winking roguishly at Nishida’s mom. At least, presumably it was a wink.
“Oh, why, thank you!” she exclaimed. “It’s nothing, really. Nothing at all.”

Oh, I'm so happy you liked my images! I was wrote a few images (and Ryuji 👀):
Rikiya is such a sweet man for you! He can talk with you for hours on end about everything, always being the initiator, and even if you are silent, then do not be afraid, he is happy even if you look at him. Rikiya one hundred percent WILL ask his Aniki for advice on courting you and how to treat you as best as possible, writing down everything said in a notebook, he trusts him so much! He is always ready to rush to your aid, helping you in everything, especially when you need to walk through the streets at night, full of scoundrels at that time (and the opportunity to hold hands with you while looking at the shining lanterns of Kamurocho). Convulsive trembling of fingers, slight blushing and a soft smile - this is all Rikiya has on all your dates together. Most likely, with him the chance of being kidnapped by him is almost impossible, he is too afraid of harming you both physically and mentally, wanting only your well-being.
Ah, Ryuji Goda… Even with a quick sneak peek to his direction, all can already say that this is a formidable and powerful Yakuza, which has practically no equal. He loves to show you off as his main treasure, dressing you up in expensive outfits and jewelry, which he make you practically glued to his side with always grabbing your waist and is unlikely to give you permission to walk around alone. And woe to those who dare to flirt or talking with you… Those unfortunate people were often found unconscious in garbage containers, which gave other men a reason not to even look in your direction, fearing for their lives. If you mention it even teasingly, Ryuuji will annoyedly tell you to shut up, not wanting to admit until the last minute that he is jealous and trying hide blushing on his face. He allows contact only with his subordinates and his sister, from which the chance of escape is impossible. Ryuji is unlikely to lay a hand on you, but will deprive you of all privileges until you apologize and make up that for him. A dangerous, jealous and domineering lion that only you have his attention.
As you described, Majima is a chaotic and always unpredictable man who always surprises, even in a bad way. As he was doing with Kiryu, he loves to play cat and mouse with you, searching all over Kamurocho, jumping out to meet you from all corners, even from the sewers! In some cases, he can “play along” with you if you want, or at least pretend that you are both a normal couple, taking part in all sorts of activities. Bowling, billiards, golf and even baseball!? Oh dear, Majima will always approve of your choice if it means spending time with him!
Mmm, about Goromi… Goromi-chan loves her beloved y/n! Always insisting on spending time together: painting your nails, doing your makeup, doing your hair and taking care of your skin, this glamorous queen never misses an opportunity to highlight your beauty. Just imagine, she and you are sitting, chatting sweetly together, while she winks teasingly and flashes her colorful outfit, successfully captivating you with her charm. Just don't look at her cleavage, little naughty darling!

Tumblr media
AA ANON I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, THESE ASK GIVES ME SO MUCH SEROTONIN IJCIWDBHSBHSXB OKAY OKAY LET START NOW EHEHEHEHEHEHE
Our sweet boy Rikiya, is such a sweetie for you, using his aniki's advice he would always act gentlemanly to you, he would carry your bags or walk with you so you would feel safe! He knows full well that his heart only belongs to you and you! His naïve persona makes him so delusional, he dreams of both of you having a domestic dream, maybe he's the one taking care of the kids and when you come back home, he will give you the biggest smile and kiss ever from a husband! He would talk about you for hours no end to his boss and Makio or even his aniki! They can see how in love he is and encourage him to go after you heck even everyone knows how he's so infuriated by you and oh dear if you ever recuperate his feelings he would be with you every single day, no matter how many months or years you two have been together, every time you kiss him, hug him, hold his hand and tell him how much you love him, he feels the same blossoming feelings he felt when he laid eyes on you! He's just a hopeless romantic when it comes to you! He would even change his style just for you! As you said anon, he won't kidnap you but he would guilt trip you into staying with him, he might be a local yakuza but his heart is pure of gold, and you will feel shitty if you decline such a sweet boy.
Aa Ryuji, Ryuji, the man who took my heart from the moment I saw him on my screen. Ryuji the Dragon of Kansai spoils you no matter what, if you just briefly mention it in a hush quiet tone 5 feet away from him, he would buy it. Ryuji may not look like it but he is very observant when it comes to you, just mention something on call like, you bought a bag of chips and you really like the flavor, then expect a whole package of those chips in your door an hour after that call… you never told Ryuji your address though…Anyways! Ryuji is prideful and he likes to boast that logic applies when it comes to you, he will go out in public, and people know how dangerous he is, by you on his side, he makes sure that his arms are around your waist every time, Ryuji isn't scared to show his beloved to anyone and everyone, may it be him kissing you in public or you sitting on his lap in meetings, he doesn't care, plus who even has the balls to tell him not to bring you? And of course, Ryuji is a man of fashion he may not look like it though, so whenever you guys go out he will always bring you to a designer store, and he will make you the most gorgeous woman/person with the diamond on your neck and the fancy clothes he gifs you, this is a way for him to show his love to you and also mark so whoever tries to shoot their shot to you and sees the diamond neckless you have, they must immediately that they have no chance. And I have to pray for the dude who tries to get near you with any kind of intentions, Ryuji doesn't mind killing him with his bare hands, it's in his nature as a Yakuza to kill, but he can't do that. So expect a small rumor of a dude who was found all bloodied up and passed out near a garbage bin where you live. Yes, escape is impossible when you are with Ryuji, his power as a patriarch gives him many men to guard you no matter what, and the only person you're going to meet is his sister, he wants you and Kaoru to have a good relationship. Ryuji has ties to the underground so even if you manage to escape and flee the country he will know where you live and drag you back to Japan but this time with no chance of escape.
The craze mind Majima, always follows you, he loves playing hide and seek when it comes to you, and he loves the expression you make whenever he surprises you when he comes out trashcan. Whenever you were out and you had some small business to attend to Majima would immediately steal you and go to his favorite baseball court or even go bowling. Don't worry about the small thing you gotta attend his minions already handled it. Majima is clingy and possessive, even if you guys aren't dating he's gonna put his arms around you and act like a couple, don't even try to talk to some one when he is watching (which is every second) because you're just putting that person on the line to get killed by Majima. Majima only wants your eyes to look at him only!!
Goromi is a bizarre woman indeed, she only wears flashy clothes so she can be the only person that her beloved (Y/N)-Chan will see in a room!! Like you said, Goromi will have such a fun time with her bestie, she would also be very touchy, like holding your hand, touching your shoulders, or heck even kissing her (Y/N)-Chan very boldly. She will listen to every problem you have and if she ever heard that someone was causing problems with you, then you wouldn't mind seeing your sweet beloved Goromi being rough with them, mh?

rank hottness levels of majima in each game/phase Now!! (pls....)
/ suggestive (its nothing bad)
ok im ngl im not entirely familiar w all the games but im ranking the ones i have seen but they're basically more or less only my favorites
anyway i'm starting w one of my all-time favorites ... my beloved goromi!!
Tumblr media
seeing him like this makes me feel things i didnt know i can feel. is it the lesbianism in my brain is making some sort of connection? is it because his little date w kiryu was silly a hell? is it a secret third thing? i will never know. but i suspect it's because i see him like this and my brain tells me that is a woman and my lesbian instincts kick in because what purpose was i put on this earth for if not to share my unconditional and infinite love to every woman that has ever existed
anyway all i know is goromi is my darling girlfriend .. she reminds me of candy-chan (and in turn, ive found similarities between sanji and majima im certain are mostly delusions) and i want to go shopping with her and spoil her with sweets, as i want to do with every woman ever
next is 24-hour prince majima .. but specifically from like a pirate (or whatever its called)
Tumblr media
something about him tickles me in the head (it's the hair) like hey boy, hey guy ... do you need a housewife ... ? LIKE THE JUXTAPOSITION OF HOW HE LOOKS NOW IN THE MV (?) COMPARED TO IN Y0 IS SO FUCKING INSANE TO ME. DEAR GOD.
the distant sadness in his eyes and general melancholic maturity about him makes him hot tbh. like wow i want to kiss you on every inch of your skin, i want to soothe your worries with homemade meals and warm baths and kisses between stolen cracks of moonlight, i want to greet you good morning and good night and shower you with spontaneous grand gestures on a random tuesday, i want show you everything that is good in this world and help you understand that it exists within you too.
i like this majima a lot.
h- ... hannya man ... good god ok ... i ... i need time to breathe
Tumblr media
i know exactly what appeals to me; it's the fancy tux/suit and the mysterious aura from the mask. wow ... idk its such a drastic shift from his usual silliness ... like wow ... hey. hi. hey. are you free this weekend? do you need anything from me?
idk im just saying, he looks like he'd tell you when to cum then make you clean up the mess or like he'd tie you up and play with you for a bit. and rlly idc, whatever you say handsome~ hehehehehehe~
putting him in because i see him often (because im playing y0) but lord of the night majima and i . hes okay ..
Tumblr media
i mean that genuinely too like. he's fine. i get the appeal. i think its the slicked back hair into a tight ponytail that throws me off a bit orz but i .. i like his vibe, or aura as the kids say .. he feels like such a loverboy, like he'd surprise me with random visits and bouquets of flowers, or he'd kiss you very tenderly and slowly, almost gently.
in terms of "i want him." he gets a pass only because he is majima and im in love with him unfortunately (tho i shall see if my thoughts on him change because im on chapter two of y0 and he hasnt even shown up yet)
then of course we have this iconic fit (i picked this photo because he looks so puppy dog here .. wow)
Tumblr media
giggling, twirling my hair. hi. hey <3 from an objective perspective, this outfit is kind of ass like ? snake-skin jacket, leather pants and ??? no shirt?? but GOD. unfortunately, its a terrible outfit on an insanely hot forty something year old. i want you. i want you so bad.
and i dont actually know if his hair changes w this outfit, like if its short + undercut then grows a bit longer or not but ive seen pics of him in this fit w longer hair and he looks better like that tbh. also i cant shake off how uncomfortable this outfit looks like that must be so hot to wear .. but again idc im kissing you in the mouth. let's go play at the claw machines in the sega arcades and sing karaoke together and hold hands and kiss and fall asleep next to each other and kiss and get dinner together and take walks in parks and kiss and kiss and kiss and kiss and—
and finally my number majima one is .. !
Tumblr media
this specific scene of majima from like a pirate where he does the thing with his finger like AUGHSDGHADNNN!!
the disheveled hair, the smirk, THE WAY HE BECKONS YOU WITH HIS FINGER. good god!! majima was alr my favorite by default because he was a weird ass freak i found funny but THIS? hello sir, daddy even, where is your shirt and do you mind taking off your pants too? qw?e@?w$e?asf?a?!!!@?e!#?!@ HEAHEHHDSHFAEr!~@?#!@!!@!mDFNDFSMA,,,,SDFM
I Need You.
(thank you anon for listening to my tedtalk and for telling me go a bit insane about my silly old man that i want so badly)

i'm not mad that majima and haruka weren't playable characters in infinite wealth, but i am sad about it. kasuga's friends are great, but they're kasuga's friends, not kiryu's. if this is kiryu's swan song, it's softly tragic that he's going out with new friends over old ones
some of this is the result of my particular focus as a player diverging from the intended reading of these games. majima is one of *the* central figures in the series for me, only overshadowed by haruka, but that's not actually how the text of the games understands things. but majima was a major piece of play in yakuza 0, kiwami, and kiwami 2, between being a PC, the central leveling mechanic, and the giant minigame. he is *mechanically* central to the first loose trilogy of games in a way that made him feel emotionally central to the character. i never connected with daigo dojima because his importance to kiryu is limited to one brief substory in y0 and cutscenes in later games, but majima is embedded in the fabric of both sotenbori and kamurocho like no other character. i can't walk down nakamichi street without looking for the giant traffic cone that majima hid under to whip my ass, the same way i first engaged with the minigames because haruka took my hand and told me she wanted to see me win at oichi-kabu. i wanted that same level of ludic interaction as part of kiryu's bucket list, because those digressive moments were, for me, the beating heart of the yakuza series
it's not a bad choice to exile the 'jimas to the frozen north and haruka to okinawa—it has been something like 20 years since majima and kiryu were locked into a relationship closer than love, deeper than death—but man. man. i wanted them back together, if only for a brief moment.

majimako is the cutest 🥺 I have indeed played the prequel, I'm actually up to date on every yakuza game including dead souls and ishin!

they're not my diehard fave but they are wonderful and they do break my heart. they're like a wrong place wrong time kind of ship, they would've been perfect together but the world just had other plans. beloved traumatised gfs 💔
