MEATRIARCH OVERVIEW.

m'kay so -- mostly putting this together as both a quick look for new faces & a lil' refresher for those who've been following for a while but also as a general overview on not just how i run things but also on my muses, their portrayals, some blog updates, and so on! ♡ meant for clarity & hopefully ensure there's no confusion about certain things i may mention on the dash but always feel free to shoot me a message / ask for anything further! ♡

MARIA AURORA FLORES.

starting off with my main girl, my pride & joy, my sunshine incarnate. i write maria as someone very warm & with a whole mess of love to shower on those she cares about. she is achingly sweet, doting, affectionate; she adores her friends, adores her mama & sister, has a complicated relationship with her father. i've done quite a bit to flesh her out beyond what gun's put out for her in the slightest & i love where she's grown over the months since adding her onto the roster. she is my main / primary muse -- so know i constantly yap and ramble about her, i have headcanons and lore posts sprinkled all over the blog & the archived blog. i love & adore her as a muse and she's become both incredibly special to me & easily one of my absolute favorite characters to write as. that being said, with how much i've added to her, i view my portrayal of her as more oc at this point than a character of gun -- unfridged my girl, yanked her away from them and took off with her lmao alot of what i've built with her was both greatly helped by the dynamics weaved together with my affiliates / mains' portrayals which i'll get to later on ♡ but know some things may not carry over into interactions between my maria & any duplicates of my affiliates' muses!

ANA FLORES.

i haven't gone through much writing for ana yet -- but know when i do speak of ana in a general sense on here? i am specifically referring to my own ana & my personal flores' family lore! if i refer to other ana's in future posts i'll most likely note so either by, for example, ' renee's ana ' or if its to that point in plotting, then with a dynamics tag on the post! otherwise assume when i'm yapping about ana in general i'm referring to my own portrayal of her by default! c: ( note that all you cute ana mutuals are still more than welcome to interact with posts about her / her & maria / the flores' ♡ just something to keep in mind if i refer to her in a general sense in posts! )

DANNY ALEJO - OSORIO.

ya'll may know our just some guy danny by gun's canon of him -- danny gaines. the danny here however is technically my own portrayal of danny gaines that i developed before he was officially dropped & we got his last name. should i interact with others writing danny gaines? i'm completely gucci with considering my danny & gaines as entirely separate characters!

* correction : i now consider danny to be entirely severed from guns danny gaines and is, now, an oc fully. he is entirely his own character. otherwise, the speedrun of danny is as follows : danilo alejo-osorio is mexican-colombian, befriended maria in their early teens. he comes from a broken family with a very fractured & a.busive father, his mother returned to colombia and started another family there believing he'd have a better life staying in the states. he went through a very rough period hanging with a real shitty crowd of so-called friends, got into a shitton of fights, broke into homes and businesses with them, stole shit, broke shit, just in general not great influences. a break-in went wrong, his "friends" scattered, and he was arrested when the police showed up, and spent time in juvie for it. none of those friends ever came by. his father didn't, none of his family did. maria, her mother and ana, instead, were his constant visitors. and it was her coming to see him, her encouragement and push for him to do better is what finally made him realize he needed to turn his shit around. at the point of maria going missing & the house, danny's going to trade school by the southern coast for ship & underwater welding courses & training. he & maria are best friends. he is her ride, die, kill. gun noted once upon a time how strong dannys' devotion to her is -- my danny is very much devoted to her. he would kill for her without hesitation -- and not in his dire au's, even, but just in general. danny would do anything for those he cares about. any of the friendgroup.

THE FLORES FAMILY.

my personal take / lore is as follows basically : papa flores ( ramón ignacio ) & mama flores ( carmen ainara ) were long-term sweethearts whose marriage and little family seemed perfectly ideal. however, the closer that their eldest daughter, maria, got to her teen years, the sicker carmen started to become. she attempted to keep it under wraps, hush-hush from the girls' to not worry or scare them. but she was diagnosed with a lung disease ( p.ulmonary f.ibrosis fingerguns @ silver for same braincell lmao ) that is considered ( esp in the 70s likely ) to be terminal. while the girls' weren't aware of her being ill to that degree, ramon fully was. and the stress of coming to terms with his wife being sick and finding out that she may eventually pass due to it, so he claims, "caused" him to start an affair. carmen does find out, and ramon removes himself from the flores' family home to move in with his affair partner. maria, being forgiving and more gentle-hearted compared to ana, attempted to still paint him in a positive light so that ana wouldn't resent him. tried to give him the benefit of the doubt -- that he at least still did love them all. that he'd keep the promises to still be active in their lives, still show up when he said he would -- however, there's only so many excuses, so many promises broken, so many calls never ringing through, before that hope crumbles. ana would witness both her mother & maria deal with their fathers' heartbreak through closed bedroom doors, and it'd only make her despise him more for it. when maria later goes missing, ramon returns to try and help in whatever ways he can -- and ana is very unreceptive to him being there. he lost his chance in her eyes to play "dad" to them. and she makes it known clearly to him how much she resents him and reminds him he's got no place in their family, anymore. that he's there ONLY to help find maria and not to expect shit from any of them.

THE HEWITTS & THE SAWYERS.

by default, i say a giant fuck you to the difference in continuity's when it comes to the family! i write the hewitt's as an extension of the sawyer ( or, slaughter ) family tree. the hewitts & sawyers connected when luda mae married charlton hewitt sr. luda, in my personal canon, was born into the family through one of grandpa sawyers' many kids' he's taken in over his long-fuckin'-ass lifespan lmao alot of the family dynamics that are my canon here stem from lamb & i's back & forths. i find blending the various iterations of the family -- from originals to remakes etc -- as all just extended families to each other alot easier to work around and opens the door to more interactions with canons' from other versions of tcsm! c: i'm currently slow-piecing together a family tree of the hewitt-sawyers based on that blended concept. to the sawyers, luda is referred to by aunt or grandma ( sometimes ma luda, even ) and thomas is referred to as cousin tommy.

THOMAS & THE TITLE OF "L.EATHERFACE".

i was going to make this its own post but i'll add to this one instead. but with the idea of the hewitts & sawyers being just on massive family unit? of course there's the question of how the fuck do both thomas & bubba ( or other iterations of LF ) work then? i'd argue its primarily due to the fact that those who don't personally know them both don't know their actual names, and simply refer to them by the most notable feature -- the masks. with my thomas, yes, he does take faces of victims and he does wear them. however. thomas' skin condition -- flesh-eating disease / tumor growths on his face -- is why he wears his animal-leather half-mask. that half mask is his primary mask. he is almost always wearing that or varying versions of it. when thomas DOES skin someones' face to wear? it is almost always out of rage. hatred. it's done to intimidate. to unsettle. its from back in september but, one of my thomas' replies to kels notes this about thomas! the masks of both animal & human leather are still very much a part of thomas as i write him -- but, when it comes to the hewitt-sawyers being one family unit & thomas & bubba co-existing? "l.eatherface" becomes a title in a sense -- two giant motherfuckers who wear masks?? they get confused for one another. despite thomas being arguably much larger both being beefy & being 6'9 compared to bubba. they both don't really stray far from home. how often do outsiders get a chance to see them both separately let alone close to one another? likely not a common sight. it'd be very easy to spot one of them and then assume they are one in the same, honestly. that's how i go about things here, at least! it ties into more, again, of the back-&-forths lamb & i have minecrafted especially but, i'm all for altering that for specific interactions for those who don't want to meddle with all of that! (:

NANCY.

spooky momther will retain what her abilities have grown into by my personal headcanons across the board! however there are certain points to how i portray her that, from any posts about her i've made, are tied into lamb's johnny and so know that there will be differences in how she may be with other johnnys! i'm all ears to how different nancy & johnny's relationship can turn out! if theres anything i feel overlaps with other dynamics of theirs, i will let you know and we can work something else out c:

GENERAL PORTRAYAL NOTE.

mentioned it already but : all muses here are very heavily canon-divergent & built out from their canon lore by my own brainrot going wild with them all. with that in mind, i do just about consider each of my portrayals of these muses as my own oc's at this point with how much i've added onto them / built them up from literal nothing like in maria's case. i'm more than happy to either adapt how i write any of them to better fit into anyone elses' takes! and i'm more than happy to welcome more into the brainrot that i've minecrafted with the flores' or the hewitt-sawyers etc! that's something to come from plotting however! if we haven't really spoken ooc / etc then i default to a more general vision of the characters for the time being. i'm all up for taking different routes with new writing partners so please don't be shy about reaching out! c: if theres anything that conflicts with pre-existing personal lore of mine or is too similar to plots or dynamics i have already, i'll let you know and try to offer alternatives!

AFFILIATE PORTRAYALS & RELATED AU'S.

i have a few writing partners who i am affiliated with & with their respective tcsm canon muses. kels' leland, rae's connie, & lamb's johnny -- when i refer to leland/lee or connie or johnny in general on my posts, do know i am specifically referring to their portrayals as my general lore across my blog takes their muses & the dynamics built between them into account ♡ like i mentioned in ana's lil section, i'll start to make note in posts when i am referring to duplicate johnnys / lelands / connie's / etc for when im mentioning others' portrayals specifically! by default though i am always referring to my affiliates' portrayals when i post c: just wanted to clarify that though in case it was at all confusing or unclear ♡ affiliate verses here are as follows so far : - cold case ( cc / maria's dire au ; with lamb's johnny ) - no one saved you / we saved us ( nosy / wsu / maria & leland's joint dire au ; with kels' leland & lamb's johnny ) - oath binded ( maria & johnny's red string & reincarnation au / with lamb's johnny ) and then the still babiest dire au for my danny, - choke chained ( with lamb's johnny ). these verses, for me, are strictly worked with lamb ( & with kels for nosy/wsu ) -- meaning i'm not writing in them or doing similar au's with other portrayals of johnnys or lelands! again in case i haven't been clear on it before and it causes any confusion or anything! ♡

MARIA & JOHNNY.

i am not going to be shipping maria in any romantic / intimate sense nor am i open to any prolonged captive plots & interactions with other portrayals of johnny sawyer. those types of dynamics & interactions i've decided from this point on to close that for my maria to lamb's johnny ( @johnnysslaughter ) ♡ there has been a lot of plotting & build up between my portrayal of maria & lamb's portrayal of johnny and their varying dynamics across verses / au's and their different trajectories. and because of how many different iterations of their dynamic has been pieced together, i personally am not going to be taking other plots / dynamics with other johnny's that fall under the same umbrella as the dynamic between our maria & johnny do -- again meaning, i personally won't be shipping romantically / intimately nor will I take on plots that run parallel to cold case / no one saved you re: maria being taken captive for a prolonged period of time with other johnnys. alot of this decision on my part is very much due to how much we have developed them together -- another big part of it is my trust & comfort level with lamb to explore those dynamics between maria & johnny. this doesn't mean we are exclusive to one anothers' portrayals -- i am happy to write with other johnny's! and lamb is welcome to interact with other maria's! but from this point onward, i will only ship maria & johnny with lamb. ♡

15. A topic you never get tired of discussing.

Oh I feel like you knew what I was going to say. I mean there's A LOT about TES that I'd happily chatter over but let's focus on my favorite first.

✨ Weird Magic Shit ✨

To prevent myself from absolutely rambling about this, because I absolutely will given the time and space, I will simply outline what I mean when I say this. There have been a number of ways spells have changed for the series over time. So in fic, we are really free to change the perception of spellcraft and magic in whatever ways we see fit, pulling from lore sources or the game mechanics, or whatever we want. I spend a lot of time thinking -- well, what if a spell could work differently? Is it too far out of canon compliance to make sense? If so, why? And how do we tie it back in a specific way that allows the reader to suspend their disbelief just for a bit? How can a caster's skill affect how they perceive magic or make use of it? What cultural aspects affect how magic is learned or utilized? How does magic and language connect? Are they one and the same? etc, etc.

All of it comes back to the fact that magic is inherently weird and also a huge, huge part of TES. So I'm happy to twist it and warp it out of shape, because it seems there's so much not told in the source material. Early on I did also write a smol post with some super basic ideas on it, and not every aspect of what I am working with is on that post -- but it's there. :> And I'm always happy to discuss weird magic things.

Actually, messing with magic starts pretty early on with World and continues throughout, like, every fic I write. It's a big deal. I'm always here for talking about how I work with it and how others headcanon weird magic shit. (:

17. Something you love that you don’t often share because you’re worried what others will think?

Hm! Well this is interesting because I am very transparent with the kind of fandom participation I work with LOL I don't really generally worry per se what others will think of my taste in fanfic or fanart because at the end of the day, people can scroll past me if they don't prefer to engage with what I'm yelling about. I've been lucky in this regard that most of my mutuals will also yell about similar things.

I'm trying to think of things recently I've read and loved that I would worry about discussing --

Oh! I know. One thing which is really more of an unpopular opinion than anything. I love to dunk on the Nerevoryn ship, but the ✨Morrowind Fic Writers✨ who lean heavily into this give me pause sometimes with how adamant their commentary can be LOL. So I'm not about to write out my unpopular opinions. Because it's very much not like that for me with fandom. Like I want to have a discussion about the merits of the writing or story, not cause chaos in the comments section by posting "lol okay then, you do you" right lol. I find it to be sort of a waste of time to be negative toward others on the internet and I don't want to invite others to waste their time being negative to me because of how funny I find this ship generally speaking. (Please know most of the humor comes with me hearing Voryn/Dagoth Ur's voice as it was in Morrowind while I'm reading. It is a thing I cannot help.) I suppose sometimes in general I'll read this ship for funsies? To be perfectly fair, I don't mind the ship. I just haven't encountered much content for it that isn't absolutely absurd to my eye. (And sometimes even if it is absurd, it's in the best possible way.) Perhaps it's not that I worry about what others will think. It's more that I just don't have a lot of opinions that aren't jokes I think. LOL (For the record, smut/pwp also has this effect. It'll be funny to me most of the time, unless it's well written then I'm just like good for ya'll and move on.) I am simply not the intended audience for that, or, unfortunately, the majority of Nerevoryn ship content. And that's totally okay.

20. Give kudos to someone who is a devoted fan (either of your own works or others’)

MORE KUDOS! I wanted to give a huge shoutout here to @changelingsandothernonsense who has been reading World since the very beginning, version one, challenge mode, me posting every day and cutting content left and right, and also skipping editing phases. She knows SO MUCH about the story upcoming and has been following along with the revision. Not only that, but keyboard smashing with me in my DMs and reading snippets that nobody else has gotten to see so far. AH and it's been such a joy and an inspiration. We chat every day pretty much about fandom things. Thank you for being a fandom bestie and for your enthusiasm. 🫂 I could say so much more LOL. I appreciate all the effort and all the shenanigans. And most of all, I appreciate getting the chance to talk not only about World, but also about Danger!Josh. :>

NUMBER 2. Have you made any new friends this year in the fandom your muse is from? Who?

I included OCs and OUTSIDE characters that have DBD verses into this. That still counts, right? MOVING ON to answer, I can't lie, it's a little tougher for me to answer due to me being uncertain who considers me a friend back(really bad at distinguishing sometimes, that's why I ask for clarification so much. Understanding tones is a bit difficult for me)! But there are several people I do consider to be my friend! Without tagging, a few people include: /ninetailedvulpecula /bastardstandard /ask-dbd-susie + ask-dbd-ada /death-in-shift /sequeltime They're such huge inspirations to me. and I am looking forward to making more friends in the upcoming years as well. I'm REALLY hoping to keep interacting with these individuals along with others. I'm just really awkward and anxious half the time to poke them first, but hey, HUGE shout to them for listening to me ramble about the same things, lol. The same for others. I wanna poke ya'll all the time but don't wanna be annoying. You're all so great! I am still kinda new here, I only recently joined tumblr. Everyone is so super friendly, and so many people stepped out of their way to help me when I felt stuck. I've been swamped in such positivity, I am so thankful! I didn't know what to do, or what was a good call, and quickly became severely overwhelmed. But thanks to them, and many others, I've been able to cross so many road blocks I never thought I could. Thank you for stepping out of your way to calm down my repetitive fears. I know it can be get exhausting, so seriously, thank you for sticking with me. Wishing you the best. I have more headcanons coming out lol...But out of the headcanons I did post was about Joey being more on the emotional side. That is one of my favourites, I think. There's not enough Joey love out there!

{I am actually still in the development process for Saguaro. I'm unsure if I want to try giving him a first name (since I don't remember one being mentioned anywhere to my knowledge) if that tells you anything about where I stand with him currently. I feel like it's all very basic stuff right now, and most of that has already been repeated numerous times in my posts with him. That being said, let me see if I can think of anything I have yet to write out that I've been thinking on.}

✿ Saguaro has endless patience for most everything except cleanliness. Especially concerning the care of pokemon. His past occupation lead him to becoming sort of picky with the tidiness of things, but since he loves pokemon so much he has a really hard time accepting their care being anything less than top notch no matter who it is.

✿ Saguaro's favorite treat is ice cream. For all the scenes I place him in making and enjoying pastries, he actually enjoys ice cream far more. He's of course never going to turn down anything sweet, but he's definitely one of those individuals that will leave in the snow to go buy ice cream from the nearest shop. He especially likes how creative and variant ice cream flavors can be.

✿ I don't have a solid set up for it yet, but I feel like Saguaro has siblings. I don't know how many, I don't know what they're like or what their identities are or anything, but he definitely has more than one sibling.

✿ As much as Saguaro loves his educational career, there are days when he misses working in homes and getting a more personal experience. It's just one of those things where his old skills while important for his work really don't serve much of a purpose in practice anymore, so he just occasionally reminisces to himself about the days when he worked in a big staff to care for a house and the people that lived within it.

✿ Saguaro isn't ashamed of his old work. He's quite proud to have been a good butler and honestly still takes what chances he can get to do temporary work on breaks. He just doesn't go into his personal life too often to anyone that doesn't ask.

✿ Saguaro has a deep desire to be of service to other people, but he keeps himself in check with what could be considered rude. He won't go out of his way to try to convince someone to let him help if they keep insisting he don't. If he gets pushed away, he usually tends to take the hint and let it go.

{Hopefully I can get more stuff out for ya'll as I work on Saguaro and develop him more. I want to get some really big headcanons out at some point, but I'm going to take it easy. Can't rush art and all that. XD But hopefully you like what you see here anyway.}

my second viewing of the batman has brought my love for gotham city and its characters back from the grave i buried it in almost a decade ago* and i am fighting the desire to make a multi-muse blog or throw myself into the boiling pits of various 1x1 rp sites and start another eleven threads i will not have time to write.

(Nolan's trilogy may make better 'films' in a sense, but i've always felt that the tone is a bit off, the politics are skewed, and: Gotham is a suspiciously clean Chicago, Bale's Batman is way too comfortable in his Bruce Wayne persona: he is rarely ever at odds with the Bruce mask and Upholds and Enforces the Status Quo, which could have been interesting for the character if it were ever explored and resolved with nuance, but this is just who Nolan & Co.'s Batman is at face value - arguably that might be the point, insert Chaos King Joker as challenger, pero - Bale es un payaso y no me gusta nunca nada).

everything about Robert Pattinson's batman/bruce reminds me of my once-upon-a-headcanon, from his oil-slick eye makeup to his Not Showing Up in Public Like an Actual Billionaire (and Not Waving His Cock and Wallet Around). he's quiet, he is a detective, he is tragically weird and alone, compulsive and obsessive, but he ultimately realizes that being Mr. Vengeance is Not Enough.

BRUCE HAS TO LIVE WITH THE FACT THAT HIS DEAD PARENTS WERE NOT PERFECT OMG THANK GOD, THANK YOU MOVIE, THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING THE VIEWER TO MAKE UP THEIR OWN MINDS AS TO WHETHER THOMAS WAYNE WAS A HUMAN MAN WHO WANTED TO DO GOOD AND MADE SOME MISTAKES (HOW VERY PROTO-BATMAN OF HIM) OR ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE DADDY and MARTHA IS AN ARKHAM, what A RICH and TERRIBLE HISTORY with ROOTS THAT GO DEEP, that BRUCE *MUST* RESOLVE, like NO, ZOE KRAVITZ AS YEAR ONE CATWOMAN WHO I WILL PERSONALLY RUN AWAY WITH, he CANNOT LEAVE, he is TIED TO THE CITY. FOREVER.

this is a gothic story, ya'll.

the aesthetics of this movie are blade runner vs. early 80s new york vs. victorian glasgow feat. The Crow. so, perfect. (they did film in Illinois, and Chicago is renowned for the L, but try telling me that the claustrophobic subways and crusty green elevated platforms didn't absolutely smack of gravesend and other areas in south brooklyn, bushwick, washington heights, or cypress hills in certain scenes, and i will gladly turn off my listening skills — the L is too central, the trains in liverpool are actually nice. gotham city has the mta.)

i will forgive the riddler for assuming that bruce wayne opens his own mail. or that he opens mail at all. that was his fatal mistake. it's just funny.

i will also forgive Mr. J for showing up in the film's final moments because a. it leaves viewers with questions, not ham-handed answers. b. character design. killer klowns from outer space meets yo my dude actually fell in a vat of acid. i will take it, thank you.

i cannot forgive the hilariously long, overly-scripted, "reveals all in a ludicrously timely fashion" voice-mail but it only took up two and a half minutes of blessed screen-time. it's a far cry from TDK's "commissioner gordon is dead – and now he's back, having tricked no one" juncture, which gave audiences absolutely nothing. plus, it didn't take me out of the story for the rest of the movie's duration.

the bat-suit symbol is actually PART of batman's weaponry. beautiful, sense-making design. i weep.

i weep for the flying squirrel apparatus. bruce clearly came up with this on his own. no high-paid wayne enterprise personnel were involved or loaned him government weapons. (no hate @ lucius fox, but this Whole Thing works so much better for this particular story).

FINE, IT'S TRUE. i just want to be batman. i put it on my kindergarten application under "what do you want to be when you grow up?" and i'm still waiting on that call. reality be raked across the coals and damned. THIS MOVIE HAS AWOKEN THAT PART OF ME LIKE A LONG-SLEEPING DRAGON WHO MUST HOARD NOW.

Awwh,, Going to be honest, typing that was really hard. I'm actually currently trying to get myself to stop crying right now. (go back in you fuckers, we show no emotions here dammit) Since its the first time I've fully admitted, both publicly and to myself, that all of those friends I had I just.. no longer have anymore.. And likely will never get them back.

And honestly? Being able to come here has been really nice. It.. makes me feel less lonely, that there are other people who share similar interests as me and that just because I lost one friend group, it doesn't mean I'm worthless and don't deserve to try to find new friends, which is something I really struggle with..

Though, you don't have to do anything you don't want too. Okay? Though seeing some spicy Silas headcanons would be fun (are they really headcanons if they're your oc?), I'm honestly just down to hang out with you all and share some fun times <3

My little rambles might be more comfort-based for the next few days till this little bout leaves, but hopefully soon I'll be back to the happy-go-horny Kitsune ya'll know and hopefully love. ^^
