It had been several days since the Battle of Onigashima. Somehow, it felt like an instant and eternity all at once. His body still hurt like hell, even he couldn't simply shake off the combined damage of two Emperors after such a short time, no matter how much he wished it. Hell, if it wasn't for Trafalgar, he'd probably still be nearly immobile. As it stood, he's still covered in bandages, but that little detail hasn't stopped him from escaping the confines of the room he'd been granted at the castle to prowl through the town.
Trafalgar. That bastard.
His memories of the battle were hazy at best, given that he'd spent the majority of time getting pummeled near to death (by choice), at one point while taking additional damage thanks to that spineless straw bastard, but he'd had plenty of time to mull over his thoughts during his forced recovery. What had gone wrong, and what had gone right. The limits of his own power. The obstacles he'd need to overcome.
There is one thing he remembered with crystal clarity. Trafalgar had been there by his side ever since they'd made it up to the rooftop. The two of them had fought nearly as one, taking hits for each other and giving back as good as they got. He knows full well he'd be dead if the other man hadn't had his back. And it was the same for Trafalgar, no doubt. Big Mom's last desperate gambit, that Misery, had been something else entirely. He still had nightmares about that bitch.
Then there was the aftermath. Broken bones healed by the surgeon's skill and that strange ability. They'd shared some kind of moment there. What kind? He growls under his breath, stalking through the crowded streets of the Flower Capital with a purpose that causes the revelers to part before him. Where is he? He remembers Trafalgar patching him up, remembers trading barbs with him. Remembers waking up leaning against him, the other's dark hair brushing against his neck. Energy temporarily restored, they'd immediately started arguing again before staggering off to rejoin their own crews. But... he couldn't stop thinking about that moment.
Damned if he wasn't going to do something about it.
The Flower Capital is preparing for a festival in honor of Wano's saviors, but the venomous glare he shoots at anyone who dares approach him is more than enough to send them scurrying. He'd given his crew leave to explore the taverns, bathhouses, and other facilities as they pleased, but Kid has yet to allow himself the same leisure. No, he's set a course and there's no force to sway him from it. Turning yet another corner, he spies a familiar, lanky figure.
"Trafalgar," he snarls, oblivious to anything else. Closing the distance swiftly with a few powerful strides, his right hand shoots forward to grab the front of the surgeon's coat, topaz eyes blazing. Damn him, and that stupid face. Those eyes, that hair, those tattoos. He's going to regret doing this, but not as much as he would not doing it. Trafalgar isn't exactly a small man, but it's easy enough for Kid to lift him with one arm. Another glare, his heart pounding in his chest, and he leans forward to crush his lips against the other's.
Since book 7 part 5 (the part where we meet Meleanor/Maleanor 👀) is coming to EN this month, i would love to see your take on lilia’s proposal to meleanor! i mean they were like little kids right? it couldn’t have been that serious…i think the only reason she even brought it up again is because she could tell lilia still genuinely loved her…(even if he didn’t realize it himself?) but, oh well! Let’s think about silly childhood shenanigans to numb the pain! ^_^ (orz)
oh shit?! get ready for a doozy guys, it's comiiiiiing ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
I chickened out of posting the whole thing (look, I get VERY carried away when it comes to these wacky kids and their Tragedy), but I do believe that it probably ended with Lilia getting embarrassed and just shoving the first thing he sees into his mouth to try and cover for it.
are. are you telling me that if the romanced mage warden dies and alistair is king, he deadass stares greagoir down over her dead body and grants the circle of ferelden its autonomy after ordering it rebuilt somewhere safer. first you have to deliberately leave him behind so he won't die for you and then he does that for you once you're gone, even when you're broken up??? absolute and literal king behaviour of the highest order????? the actions speak louder than words of it all??????? I think I hauve covid
Phil: I can fetch you cheese, hold on, lemme just say this before I go– and it definitely will not annoy you at all– what if you guys went on a date together flying through the sky?
Pac: Wow, that would be magical! Do you think I can manage to do something to make Fit fly as well?
Tubbo: Every second I lose the will to live a little bit more.
[Phil and Pac laugh]
Tubbo: I wish Sunny never brought me back into this world. Hell was better than this.
Pac: [Ignoring Tubbo] Me… Fit… the clouds… the stars…
A moment of mourning for Sakura for words she would have once given anything to hear from Sasuke....
Kind of followup to THIS comic.
But she and Saeko have had their revenge for Enji, and Sakura has had time to heal and find closure. She won't be any good to Sasuke because she's already left that path, and she won't abandon her coven/responsibilities either.
She's learned alot about Konoha over the past few years, and has to a big degree, deprogrammed herself from the Leaf's propaganda thanks to all her teachers and some brutal life experience, so she doesn't actually care if Sasuke were to raze the entire council/kages to the ground- but there ARE people (ino, Kakashi, lee, naruto etc-) who she loves and wants to protect, so she'll stay, for them.
Sasuke, for his part, is happy to have someone just verbalize that they empathize with his pain and that his desire for revenge is justified, though he's doesn't have the bandwidth to really understand where Sakura is right now, emotionally.
In this AU I kind of had an end for Sasuke where he is pardoned, but never returns to the village, though he does pass by once in a blue moon. When he does, Sakura (who doesn't end up living IN the village as much as in the forests of Konoha like their own little witch of the woods) is there to help with healing/supplies and they do end up as good, yet distant friends.
Once again, thank you so much for all the support and really nice questions/kind words for this AU!!! <3 <3
*sigh* thoughts on Nintendo's botw/totk timeline shenanigans and tomfoolery?
tbh. my maybe-unpopular opinion is that the timeline is only important when a game's place on the timeline seriously informs the way their narrative progresses. the problem is that before botw we almost NEVER got games where it didn't matter. it matters for skyward sword because it's the beginning, and it matters for tp/ww/alttp (and their respective sequels) because the choices the hero of time makes explicitly inform the narrative of those games in one way or another. it matters which timeline we're in for those games because these cycles we're seeing are close enough to oot's cycle that they're still feeling the effects of his choices. botw, however, takes place at minimum 10 thousand years after oot, so its place on the timeline actually functionally means nothing. botw is completely divorced from the hero of time & his story, so what he does is a nonissue in the context of botw link and zelda's story. thus, which timeline botw happens in is a nonissue. honestly I kind of liked the idea that it happened in all of them. i think there's a cool idea of inevitability that can be played with there. but the point is that the timeline exists to enhance and fill in the lore of games that need it, and botw/totk don't really need it because the devs finally realized they could make a game without the hero of time in it.
so the thing with gale is that he's a romantic, right? he believes in serendipity, that love is a beautiful thing grasped at just the right moment—something that one must choose to keep hold of. love is the bond between souls, a single-minded devotion, the joining of two into one.
and so it stands to reason that he knows that to love is to be vulnerable. two souls cannot meld, not truly, without being fully bared to each other—the good, the bad, the ugly. still he chooses to love. he lays himself out for his beloved and says, i am prepared to be devastated by you. i will choose you, even if it means damning the entire world. he is willing to be destroyed by love, consumed by it, swallowed whole.
"have you ever walked to the edge of a great precipice, and marveled at just how easy it would be to fall into the void?"
redraw of smth i did what feels like ages ago (it was 3-4 months ago) but this time i actually get to post it with the original intent of it being @linksfunroadtrip
