Be My Valentine: "What a brave thing to say for someone so ticklish" + Hot stuff: "Come over here and make me!"

“You take that back right now.” Sanemi narrowed his eyes threateningly. Unfortunately for him, it only brought out your defiant side.

“Come over here and make me!” You raised your chin, narrowing your eyes right back. “It’s true and you know it.”

“First you call me a pufferfish, and now you’re giving me orders?” Sanemi tsked, sounding almost impressed. “What a brave thing to say..” He got up and walked closer, his eyes never leaving yours. You didn’t back down, not even when he was right in your face.

“...For someone so ticklish.”

Oh shi- You didn’t get a chance to respond before he had you, pulling you close to him as his fingers ran up and down your torso. “Whahahahait! Whahahhait, Sahahahahhanehehehehmihihihihi!”

“Wait nothing! You act like a brat, I’ll treat you like one!” Your boyfriend snickered, grinning as you wriggled in his arms. “Take back what you said about me and maybe I’ll forgive you.”

“Nehehehehhver, yoohohohou dahahahmn puhuuhuhuuffer!” You cried out, proud at the shock on his face. “Lohooohohk at yoohoohohohu gahahhaping at mehehheehe! Juuhuhuust prohohohohoves my pohohohohint fuhuhuhurther!”

“Oh, you really are being a brat today! Alright, time to turn up the torture.” He moved fast- far faster than you expected. One moment you were standing up, the next you were on the ground, your head supported by his hand.

Too bad it wasn’t there when he grabbed your legs, squeezing your knees and making you arch with a cackle.

“SHAHHAHNEMIHIHIHIHI! FIHIHIHINE, I TAHHAHKE IT BAHHHACK! I TAHHHHAHAKE IT BAHHAHACK!” You howled, face hot and vision blurred as he assaulted one of your worst spots. The second you said those words, the tickles came to an end. Sanemi’s satisfied smirk entered your vision soon after.

“There, now was that too hard?” He cooed pitifully down at you, laughing when you mock punched him in the chest.

“Shut up, Puffer boy.”

hey btw if you're in the USA at  2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4, they're testing the emergency broadcast system. your phone is probably going to make a really loud noise, even if it's on silent. there's a backup date on the 11th if they need to postpone it.

if you're not in a safe situation and have an extra phone, you should turn that phone completely off beforehand.

additionally, if you're like me, and are easily startled; i recommend treating it like a party. have a countdown or something. be surrounded by your loved ones. take the actions you personally need to take to make yourself safe.

i have already seen mockery towards any person who feels nervous about this. for the record, it completely, completely valid to have "emergency broadcast sounds" be an anxiety trigger. do not let other people make fun of you for that. emergency sounds are legitimately engineered to make us take action; those of us with high levels of anxiety and/or neurodivergence are already pre-disposed to have a Bad Time. sometimes it is best to acknowledge that the situation will be triggering for some, and to prepare for that; rather than just saying "well that's stupid, it's just a test."

"loud scary sound time" isn't like, my favorite thing, but we can at least try to prevent some additional anxiety by preparing for it. maybe get yourself a cake? noise cancelling headphones? the new hozier album? whatever helps. love u, hope you're okay. we are gonna ride it out together.
