SO. I made a post about an jjba x transformers crossover, and my brain started thinking "Which jojo will be which cybertronian human companion?" And it got an idea. SO, here is the list and reason why:
Jonathan - literally any autobot fron any continuity (except shattered glass) and any shattered glass decepticon. Reason: he is pure, kind, helpful and is probably THE MOST excepting person ever. He will help them in the war and to bring peace and everyone will love him (even some decepticons and shattered glass autobots love and respect him).
Joseph - idw Rodimus or starscream (not specifically idw). Reason: (Rodimus)idk. But I feel like they will get along instantly and become best friends in like, less then a minute. (Screamer) Idk, I just fill like this two can get along pretty well. Also they're both practically immortal so they do have that in common.
Jotaro - tf prime ratchet. Reason: they are both tired of people's shit. They don't know how to show love. Anger issues.
Josuke - tf prime bumblebee, and any medics in tf. Reason: (bee) the moment he finds out his voice box was demeged he will just fixed it (no need to die for this voice box to be fixed) and they will become best friends. (Medics) He can make their job easier by just using his stand. All the medics love him (even ratchet).
Giorno - I actually don't know about him. If you have an idea, please tell me.
Jolyne - tf cyberverse arcee, Elita one and the terans (from earthspark). Reason: (arcee) they give me bestie vibes. (Elita) Idk, just fill like they'll get along well. (The terans) They love humans, they will love her stand, and they will get in troubles together a lot.
Johnny - idk again, I don't know a lot about sbr so I have no idea.
Gappy - cyberverse bee. Reason: memory issues buddys (again, don't know a lot about gappy, but from what I saw about him he has memory issues l), they give bestie vibes
Holy (is that how you write her name?) - the terans. Reason: the terans with parental figures: "another one thank you". She will absolutely adore the terans, they probably remind holy of jotaro when he was young.
I will probably make more posts about this crossover. It takes over my mind for like three to five hours a day since I first thought of it.

what do you think would happen if roby and Mo from earthspark ended up in the idw ? Their both organic teens that are envoys/proxies of a prime with powers in a dimension where the things are a lot more complicated and cybertronian are a lot more xienophobic.
What if they figure out their situation and try to find a way back home but they keep running into cybertronians and become local/cosmic cryptids, they try to be smart but can not not help a hurt bot/con. Everyone is trying to find them after their connaction to quintus is revealed
I haven't watched Earthspark, besides the YouTube clips, but...
Nothing good. IDW delves into outright gruesome territories from state sponsored mind manipulation/lobotomy/Obliviation, police brutality under a totalitarian regime, and widescale oppression and genocide.
The Cybertronian civil war was insane and incomprehensible scale of violence. They really pushed on the ruthlessness on both sides, so what are the lives of two kids of an organic species that will die with a careless footstep or a slow yawn among that? Especially to gain an edge in the constant arms race across multiple galaxies?
On top of that, where could they really go? They have nothing but whatever is on them. I don't know what's worse, the kids having alternate universe selves to mimick/steal some form of legal identity or being complete ghosts?
The entire ordeal will be ugly.

The Trigger collab animation came out and it’s the best thing Transformers has done in the current decade.
Truly a love letter to Transformers from G1 to EarthSpark, it squeezes in everything it possibly can from most media. However the catch is that it’s only animated media and the live action movies, the comics (any assorted manga, Marvel, Dreamwave, IDW & Skybound) aren’t referenced, while some Japanese exclusive stuff gets a lil’ bit more attention (understandable since it’s, y’know, Japanese fans being nostalgic about the anime they grew up with).

Transformers Go, Q-Transformers, and the Beast Wars anime got particular attention.

This shot of Liger Megatron and Green Lion Lio Convoy is especially cool.
I think initially I was expecting a Trigger animated greatest hits from select moments from each show, and while they still technically do that in spots…

It’s mostly a mega crossover with different characters interacting otherwise.

And it’s all the better for it.
I mean where else are you gonna find TFA Optimus about to smash Masterforce Overlord’s face in?

There’s no real narrative, it’s just random cool shots though the closest thing to a framing device is the PV opening with Vector Prime looking down on Cybertron across all time lines.
Regarding EarthSpark’s contributions to the short, they’re minimal. The Terrans and Mandroid don’t appear at all, which is a little bizarre.
ES Megatron appears among the other Decepticon leaders instead of being with ES Optimus on the Autobot leader side.

You’d think Mandroid would be there next to BWII Galvatron instead, but I guess not. Sadly they omitted RiD15 Steeljaw too, instead using RiD15 Megatronus Prime’s floating head.
SatAM Robotnik voice: Ah well, life is not perfect.
The main ES rep are the Maltos.

This just reinforces ES needed to be 2D, because they actually look good. Roche’s style doesn’t work in 3D.
Anyway the human cast they chose for this final shot amuses me.

Love seeing my favorite Clays being included. The lack of RiD Steeljaw (G1 Steeljaw did appear with Lio Junior and RiD15 Aerobolt though) is forgiven.
Anyhow, the specific use of the Clays, the (S3) Witwickys, the Maltos and the Onishis (this is especially funny since Koji’s mom never met her universe’s Optimus) is somehow very random, but also kinda appropriate. Like I get Spike and Dot’s families, since it serves as bookends, but the Clays and Onishis still feel a bit random. Still, including both Robots in Disguise families is a nice touch in my book!
The short ends with a different bookend as mentioned.

What starts out as G1 Prime & Megs transitions to ES Prime & Megs shaking hands. The old with the current series. It works~! I admit I’m surprised they didn’t include TFONE somehow. I know it’s technically not out yet, but there’s enough material to have had Orion and D-16 have some kind of tussle. It would’ve been an interesting way to tie it into the above scene and this one:

When it comes to general rep, the stuff that gets the most focus is G1, Beast Wars, Animated, & Galaxy Force. Cyberverse doesn’t really get anything beyond the leader shot, but there is this awesome but very random shot of Croaton over looking Holi’s Rescue Patrol walking on a beach littered with the dead bodies of the generic Decepticons from “War Dawn”.

Sucks to be you guys.
It also occurs to me the Rescue Bots cartoons appear to be omitted along with BotBots, but that might partly be due to them not having Japanese releases? I’m not sure, but it’s funny how Q-Transformers is acknowledged of all things, but not Heatwave or Burgertron. Maaaaybe that’s for the best on the later…
Still the PV is a blast and is pry the most earnest passion project that GETS Transformers vs what we’ve been getting post Aligned cartoon wise.
I still hope this leads to a proper TF anime series made by Trigger, like what happened with Gridman. We need a return to good 2D animated TF shows and not more CGI slop like WFC or S2 ES. That Beast Wars and Machines are still superior despite being retro by today’s standards says something…
The catch however is the original video is region locked…

but some fans have ripped it and posted it on their YT:
youtube
So go check it out while you can! It’s pure Energon-y goodness!

This is not my original post, I found it on Twitter by user sexydust
D-16 is smiling happily as G1, Animated, Bayverse, Cyberverse, Armada, Prime, IDW, MTMTE, Earthspark, Shattered Glass, Skybound, Rescue bots and alter versions of Optimus are laying around the berth and hugging him after he fragged them.
Bro has the W rizz spike
Later D-16 is running for his life as he's chased by G1, Animated, Bayverse, Cyberverse, Armada, Prime, IDW, MTMTE, Earthspark, Shattered Glass, Skybound and many more alter versions of him. They want nothing more than kill him since he banged their Optimus's and got to taste their valves before they could've gotten it
What do you guys think?
I've seen it already. It rely did slap me with the tf crossover shenanigans of D16 having all of the orions/Optimus

Welcome to My Scraphead
for all my transformers needs! i have a main blog @a-non-ymouswriter but honestly i havent used that in a long while. i have no idea what i'm doing and i'm just here for the fictional alien robots that have gripped my hyperfixation so hard right now.
currently most familiar with Transformers: Prime, Transformers Animated, Transformers One, watched the first season of Earthspark. currently trying to watch Transformers Armada, planning to read the comics and watch other Transformers media.
Update: I have read MTMTE and Lost Light!
Profile Pic by @mecracklingsworld
Current AO3 Fic(s):
Walking Armory : On Hold, Soul Eater OC Transmigration into Transformers Prime. Cliffjumper Lives. Skyquake Lives. Major Canon Divergence from the get go.
"Aka, Alien God sends a semi-feral lil' armory to aid his kids. There are various untold side-effects from this single action. "Whoops." Says Primus, unconcerned. More at 11. - Small Summary"
Twice the Primes: Ongoing, Continuity Soup, MegOp x2 (x4). Isekai and Transmigration. Major Canon Divergence.
"Optimus Trion, General Commander of the Autobot Elite Guard, is a war-weary warrior who fights alongside his once friend and enemy Megatron, General Commander of the Decepticons. The future seems grim, until not one, but two mysterious warriors, both wielding halves of the once-thought fictional Matrix of Leadership, suddenly appear. Two Primes at the same time.
The only problem is that no one knew who these two were as they tended to vanish after every battle. -Partial Summary"

"Hot Rod had always known he'd been weird the first moment he onlined his optics as a sparkling, he never really expected recreating the Demon Slayer corps from his human memories as Tanjiro when he grew up but then again, he hadn't been expecting demons to be on Cybertron.
However; these demons weren't exactly like in his memories, they weren't weak to the Sun and could easily hide among Cybertronians.
At least they were still weak to Breathing Styles. - Partial Summary"
TFP: Universal Observations: Ongoing, Aligned- mostly TFP focused, Reaction Fic to Alternate Universes. Eventually towards other continuities.

Thank you for fighting the good fight for Prowl. I just joined the fandom this year, and honestly, I love him so much, and you’ve already put into words exactly how I feel about him. Also, thank you for validating my hatred for Megatron. Between TF One and IDW, I’ve gone from meh to straight-up loathing his entire existence. Like, why is his redemption arc so wacky? It genuinely felt like he got off scot-free so easily, with no one holding any real bad blood against him unlike Prowl. Everyone was just like, “uwu poor Megatron” or whatever, and it drove me insane. It felt like IDW was written just to create more Megatron simps. I don’t even care if I’m wrong about his redemption or IDW as a whole—if the fandom can misinterpret Prowl to death, then I can yap about how much I hate Megatron’s redemption arc and whole existence, lmao. I’ll never get over how a literal genocidal warlord somehow got more support and sympathy points than Prowl. Please, give me a Megatron redemption where he actually has to work for it—not one handed to him on a silver platter by an idiotic fool. it feels so undeserved. I want MEGATRON to be punched by many of his victims. Even Starscream, his number one punching bag lived a miserable life in Cybertron. I’ll never agree that IDW was a masterpiece. I hate that shit so much, lol. Anyway, where was I? Oh, right—just wanted to say how much I love reading your posts about Prowl. Keep doing what you’re doing. :)
You're very welcome! Prowl is easily my favorite Autobot, and the way he's treated by both the fandom and the IDW narrative makes me want to bite people. Especially when compared to other characters who are just as bad if not worse (I saw a post when Prowl was confirmed for EarthSpark that said not making him a cop would be bad because it would be ignoring his history of police brutality, and I was just like. Prowl and Orion worked together as cops for a while, guess which one of them repeatedly yelled at the other for using violence. Not that Prowl's record is completely clean, but the hero cop who advocates for violence is a way bigger problem than the social outcast who looked at the system and saw corruption).
Anyway.
I must admit that I actually like Megatron in general, but I really hate this recent trend of Megatron being the only Decepticon canon cares about. TF One could have given us two Bots and two Cons, but not a single other Decepticon got more than maybe five minutes of screentime. EarthSpark made him the only Decepticon who changed sides, then doubled down on the worst elements of his "redemption" by making him the only Decepticon who's allowed to be sympathetic. Every crossover I've seen between Transformers and various video games only includes Megatron as the Decepticon representation.
(Also, unpopular opinion, but I feel like Megatron having a history with Optimus is the weakest part of his character in almost every continuity. Especially in IDW, where it's literally a Get Out of Jail Free card).
And of course, as soon as Prowl shows up in EarthSpark, people are complaining about him getting on Megatron's case. Even though he was actually really open-minded about Megatron's presence, and just accepted that he'd truly changed sides even if he didn't personally trust him. I was over here expecting an entire episode based around Prowl fighting with others about Megatron's trustworthiness, and people had a problem with a couple openly antagonistic comments.
Primus forbid a mech do anything, I guess.
#transformers#Prowl#I will die on the hill that IDW Prowl is a better person than IDW Optimus#And while I (mostly) really liked how EarthSpark handled him#I actually think he should have been allowed to be meaner to Megatron. As a treat.

Light Seeks Out Life
Okay, this is a Transformers IDW/MTMTE comic and Transformers: Earthspark (light) crossover. Purely self-indulgent. I've been working on this thing off and on after work to try and unwind. Because I love the oddball Earth-forged Terrans and I love semi-eldritch/doting elder Rung and I want them to meet.
This may have other parts, depending on how I'm feeling.
Can also be found on AO3 (hopefully this link thing works)- Light Seeks Out Life
It began with a feeling.
Feelings are normal. Twitch came into the world knowing feelings. She is connected inseparably through feelings. She shares love, and sorrow, and joy, and fear with her siblings - human and Terran alike. In the months making up her life so far, she has felt so much.
She has been with herself long enough to identify when an emotion is coming from her, or from her siblings. But this isn't from any of them. The whole morning - even during lesson time when Bumblebee is talking about something training related and probably super important - she's distracted by the Feeling. She can't sit still, worse than usual.
It's a mix of excitement and something else, something not-quite sad. Just as she's leaning in to her brother, about to ask if he's feeling something, too, Bumblebee is looking at her. He's got a disappointed face and though it's not nearly as bad as Mom's, it's still pretty bad. Twitch tries to shrink into her plating.
Bumblebee sighs with his vents, and he shakes his head (helm?) a little. "Is something wrong Twitch?"
Is there something wrong?
She thinks about telling him, but decides not to. Despite their efforts, neither she nor Thrash could ever really explain their Thing in a way that Bee understood. She shakes her head, apologizes like she's been taught, and really tries to settle in.
Though not long after, Twitch starts… well, twitching. She fidgets with her plating. She pesters at Thrash's plating. That feeling is getting closer, and stronger, and she feels like she has so much energy she just can't possibly keep herself all the way still. The excitement part of the foreign emotion is really picking at her self-control.
The lesson winds up turning into 'reconnaissance' shortly after Thrash decides he's had enough and tackles her to the ground. Bumblebee scolds her a good bit, apparently decides he's not getting anywhere, and releases them both to get out some of their pent-up energy.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Twitch calls. "I promise to be back home before dark!"
Then she's off like a shot, charging into the forest without so much as challenging Thrash to a race. But then, she didn't need to. Thrash understands, and before long he's catching up, running through the woods at her side.
Together they clear fallen trees, duck through bushes, laughing and whooping all the while. They're running free with no real goal in mind. Twitch takes to the air easily. Thrash yells about cheating, even though there's been no game decided. It's all in good fun.
She doesn't think about the Feeling.
The barn is as much their 'home' as the house is.
Neither Twitch nor Thrash sleep. They don't feel the need, so they don't. She likes to think that Robby and Mo sleep enough for them both. It can get kind of… boring, though. Sometimes Twitch can get Robby to sneak out with her for some late-night exploration. Other times they can plead with Dad or Mom and they'll tell a story. Still, Thrash occasionally joins Twitch in wandering out to the fields to watch Fluffy Ears and her friends sleep (always worth it). But often it's just Twitch and Thrash in the barn. All night long.
Those nights can be the worst.
They've both learned that their place is in the barn at night, just like how Robby and Mo are supposed to stay in the house. They've also learned that making loud noises is very much unwelcome. Often they try to pass the time by reading books (comics especially), or playing board games. But those activities can only keep them occupied for so long. Twitch and her brother have had more than one do-nothing-night.
It usually starts out with rejected suggestions of games and books (sometimes Twitch offers and Thrash objects, sometimes Twitch is objecting). Then they devolve into 20 questions, what-if, or would-you-rather. They might even play pretend. And sometimes that's enough to get them through till morning.
But not tonight.
Tonight is worse than all of the do-nothing-nights that've ever come before. Twitch's lines are humming with energy. Her rotors are spinning up, then spinning down over and over again; she's touched the roof 42 times over the course of the night so far. What's worse is she can't do anything with the energy.
They could probably sneak out again. Feeling like this, though, she doesn't know if either can manage it quietly enough to avoid being caught. Because it's not just Twitch feeling antsy.
Thrash is similarly struggling. He's sitting on a crate, drumming out rhythms with his fingers (Bee called them digits at one point). She thinks he might have been trying to work out a song. It's been a nightly attempt for Thrash ever since Bumblebee introduced him to an Autobot called Jazz. And Jazz had subsequently introduced him to sheet music.
“Improv’s always best. But writing down your piece helps others hear it even without ya. ‘Sides, ‘s a great way to start learning music theory.”
But the poster-board-for-paper remains blank. The energy is getting to him, it's getting worse, because even as Twitch watches Thrash's left leg begins to bounce.
"You feel it too?" Twitch asks. It's a metaphorical question. Or is it 'rhetorical'?
Thrash doesn't have to answer - he knows, and she knows.
"What do you think it is?" he asks instead. "It's not me, and it's not you, and Robby and Mo are sleeping,"
"I dunno…" Twitch says helplessly.
It's not a bad feeling. There's lots of anticipation and joy - that's the part giving her and her brother a hard time sitting still. But there's still that wistful, not-quite-sad part. And it's not as if the Feeling is getting stronger, or going away. It's just there, barely present in the backdrop of her mind, on the edge of her thoughts. It's like something that's been forgotten, waiting patiently to become her focus. It's something lost that waits to be found again.
She and Thrash go through the incredibly, comparatively small (and well-used) book on emotions Dad had gifted them. They even go so far as to do something he called 'cross referencing,' looking at synonyms and their definitions in the (not-as-used) thesaurus & dictionary. The Feeling eludes them both.
It's late afternoon. Twitch and Thrash, along with Robby and Mo, are done with training and school, respectively. Both of Twitch's human siblings are relieved to be home. She of course can tell Robby's had a rough time with school recently. She asked him what was wrong yesterday and he replied something about social studies that she tangentially understood. Bumblebee has recently been trying to teach them something about Cybertron's history leading up to the war. Dad's been ecstatic - she and Thrash much, much less so.
But there's something about the coming-home feeling that catches Twitch's attention. She's always felt something similar, whether returning from a lesson in the fields close to home or one of the rare explorations through the woods. Coming home feels the same. There's the not-quite-sadness; running, playing, making friends, even learning is great (sometimes) and it never feels like she has enough time for any of those things. But she has always felt excited to reach home. She loves her family, how could she feel anything different? It's what Robby and Mo are feeling right now. And it's also remarkably similar to the Feeling.
"Like coming home," Twitch whispers out loud.
And the Feeling changes - no, transforms - as the excitement and anxiety become less overwhelming and are replaced by joy and anticipation. There's a deep part of her, maybe inside her chest (that spark Bumblebee's always referring to?) that feels at peace. It's a lost piece that has finally slotted into place, finally recognized and put back where it belongs.
Twitch's relief at finally having a name to put to that foreign Feeling is so sudden that both her human siblings turn to find her gaze. Dad, too, glances up while stepping out of the van.
Mo offers comfort through their bond, and says, "Aw, school's not that bad, Twitch. And we've already been gone and back, like, a million times."
Neither of them can feel it. Or, they can, and they think it's just their feeling, and not Something Else? Twitch shares what she hopes is a subtle questioning look with Thrash. He only shrugs, just as lost as she.
It's just after a rainstorm when Twitch manages to goad Thrash into an informal race. They've been given regular break times during Bumblebee's lessons (Dad's suggestion) in order to use up some energy. Thus far, today's lesson has mirrored the grey storm clouds: boring, dull, apparently lifeless. She doesn't really understand why learning about Cybertron's religious conflicts are important. Bumblebee even admitted to barely knowing the basics. But they'd been going over some more history on Cybertron's 'just before the war' stuff, and apparently religion was another thing some Decepticons and Autobots fought for. Or fought about?
It did bring to mind something Mom had explained three weeks before. That was back when Thrash groaned and asked why they needed to learn some of the politics and stuff a lot of Cybertronians had cared about. (Coincidentally, something Twitch had also been wondering, but never asked.) Mom had been the one to answer. She said people have a lot of reasons for fighting a war - resources, politics, religion and ideals being big ones.
She said learning what's important to different folks can help you work out what's important to you. And teach ways to negotiate between everyone's 'important things' without it turning into a war.
Regardless, out here, Twitch doesn't have to worry about religion or conflict, or the former's role within the latter. She's free to move, to jump, and run, and fly. They move together, along some unknown path, directly towards the cave (with its strange and special water). She doesn't need to 'refuel' as Bumblebee puts it. And she doesn't think Thrash does, either. Twitch doesn't think about it too hard. This just feels like the right way to go today.
They're part way to that unspoken finish line when suddenly the Feeling is back to the forefront of her mind. That mildly concerning development is followed by her internal systems picking up a new signature. That's never happened before.
Twitch stops abruptly, hovering in place. Thrash comes to a scraping halt below her.
Twitch doesn't know how to describe it. They still haven't gotten past the vague understanding of 'it just feels similar to coming home after a day out.' So she just asks, "You feel that?" The 'again' goes without saying.
The Feeling transforms once more. It's now present and pressing.
"The Big Thing somewhere up on the hill? Yeah." Thrash says.
Twitch is nodding absently. That's a good way of putting it. She's not sure how she knows, or why, but this signature is marking something big. She's slowly lowering to the ground until finally coming to land beside her brother. Her descent is so gentle, the bushes and their residual raindrops barely make a sound.
"Do you think we should go back? Try and find Bumblebee? Or Mom?" Thrash asks, obviously thinking back on their bad luck with strangers.
Twitch hums, considering, then says, "It doesn't feel dangerous or anything." And they're a lot better prepared than they had been with Swindle. Or… Mandroid.
Mandroid hadn't seemed all bad, either. But this is different. Somehow, she doesn't feel right trying to compare this Big Thing to Mandroid. That guy's crazy, mean… scary. She feels it confidently, in her spark, that they're both safe to wait and see - and feel. Because the Feeling is there, she feels it from the tips of her toes/pedes to the top of her head/helm. It's still comforting and hopeful and everything she loves about home.
That's why it's no small surprise when the mech that comes into view at the top of the bluff above just seems… strange. Their plating is orange and cream in color. The arms and legs are thin, so unlike all the other Cybertronians she's met. And they don't have wheels, or rotors, nothing to hint at what their alt-mode might be.
Slowly, the stranger begins their descent. Some rocks give way beneath the sudden weight, loosed by the storm and helped along by mud and leaf litter. Yet they navigate each potential fall with an otherworldly grace, always with one foot up to take the next step down.
"Ah, here we are," says the mech as their feet touch solid ground.
Twitch doesn't gawk (because Robby says staring is rude and she trusts her big bro), but it's a close thing. At her side, she can tell Thrash is having much the same reaction. The Feeling is still there, but it's more muted, somehow.
The stranger still faces both Twitch and Thrash, regarding them with a small, kind smile. She notices they've got glasses on - or are they goggles? They're very similar in color to the piece of blue-green 'sea glass' Mo keeps in her treasure box. What would a mech need glasses for? Bumblebee never went into much detail about the eyes ('optics,' apparently) during their brief anatomy lessons.
Their expression remains warm and welcoming. As something gently wipes across Twitch's sensors (another relatively foreign concept), Thrash goes ramrod straight. Twitch can't parse what it is she's supposed to do with the information that has just suddenly appeared in her mind. From the mirrored confusion she feels from Thrash, he's just as stumped.
"Um… Hi?" Is all she can manage.
The mech frowns a little. Then they jump, like Dad did when he'd realized he was nearly late for his 'class reunion.' "Oh, that's right, they don't use pings anymore, do they?"
Twitch doesn't know what a ping is, so she figures it's a rhetorical question (and it is 'rhetorical,' and not 'metaphorical,' she looked it up). She watches quietly as the mech begins to pat around their frame, obviously searching for something. One compartment after another pops open. Like a magician, the stranger pulls out an array of normally ill-fitting items; there's a string of crystals, a half-bolt of fabric, a stack of wooden cards…
"I wonder where I could have put them. I'd have sworn they were in one of the left-" the mech checks more pop-out drawers from their left arm.
Part of Twitch wants to see what else they can pull out, but she knows that probably wouldn't be polite. Just before she's made up her mind to try and introduce herself with a proper handshake, the mech straightens up again.
With a flourish and triumphant "Aha!", they now have a light green and yellow patterned box. "Here it is," they say, walking and fiddling with the box as they approach.
Twitch doesn't move when the stranger finally comes within touching distance. And neither does Thrash, though she can tell the urge to move is harder for him to fight down. Curiosity is a powerful motivation, though.
"These are rust-sticks. Not quite the traditional greeting, but close enough!" The mech shakes their tin in hand, and a few pink, softly glowing sticks pop out the cracked end. Then the box is gone - vanished away into some other compartment, Twitch is sure.
"You may call me Rung!"
The mystery mech, Rung, evidently, glances from Twitch to her brother and back again.
"Uh- I'm Twitch."
"And I'm Thrash."
A smile bigger than before lights up Rung's features and they nod enthusiastically. "It's very nice to meet the two of you!" At the same time, they slip three rust-sticks out between their fingers (digits - things - words) and gestures for each to take. "It's food, don't worry."
Twitch accepts one of the sticks with a quiet 'thank you' and turns it over in her hand. They've been told again and again not to accept things from strangers. She then notes that Rung has taken the end of one of the sticks in between their teeth. If they're eating it, then surely it can't be that bad.
"Your systems should be able to handle a small bit of energon at least, you're part Cybertronian as much as part Earth! Also," Rung leans towards Twitch and Thrash, and puts one hand to their mouth to whisper, "I promise you'll like them. I've never known a new-forge who could resist something sweet!"
Both Robby and Mo swear up and down by sweets; dessert time is a favorite with her human siblings. So Twitch takes the dive, popping one end into her mouth, and… It's the best thing she's ever tasted. It's all the way up there - even past the antifreeze Mom has never and will never find out about.
"This. Is. Amazing!" Twitch squeals before promptly gnashing down the rest of the stick.
"I wanna try!" Thrash yelps.
Rung chuckles as they hand over the last remaining rust-stick to Twitch's eager brother. That one is quick to disappear, too. After finishing, Thrash confirms Twitch's opinion: definitely the best they've ever had.
"I'm glad you both approve," Rung says, still smiling. "I hope that helps me make a good impression. I've travelled quite a ways to meet both of you properly."
"Wait, us?" Thrash asks, head tilting.
"You know about us?" Twitch asks at nearly the same time.
"It's been a long time since anyone has tried to make something new. Though I'm not the least bit surprised it was Quintus to do it."
That got a bigger reaction. Twitch gasps a bit, her eyes widening. Thrash beats her to the question.
"You know about Quintus Prime?"
Rung folds both arms neatly behind their back. "But of course! I know just about all there is to know about the Primes!"
Twitch feels elation surge through her mind, echoed and redoubled by her brother. She takes to hovering off the ground once again, flitting back and around their new friend excitedly. Rung is a good bit taller than either of them, but definitely still shorter than Bumblebee. She fires off questions, circling ever faster, still searching for any kind of alt-mode give-aways. The excitement she feels now isn't too unlike the Feeling they'd experienced before - for weeks, leading up to meeting Rung.
"Did you come here from Cybertron? Are you by yourself? Are you an Autobot?"
Not far below, Thrash is also energetic, rocking on his feet, swinging his arms, and asking questions of his own. "What can you tell us about Quintus? Do you know why he wanted to create us?"
Rung glances between them both, expression gentle and fond. It reminds Twitch somewhat of Dad and Mom.
Rung reveals they did in fact come to Earth all the way from Cybertron, and that they are completely alone. Rung confirms they're an Autobot (pulling out a ridiculously fitted badge that could in no way be comfortably displayed anywhere on their body/chassis). After listening to Twitch and Thrash's somewhat faltering explanation, Rung states that the pronouns that best suit them are likely he/him. He had commented something Twitch didn't quite understand, something about Earth's organic culture?
When pressed further about Quintus Prime, Rung gives them both a strange sad/happy not-quite-smile and says, "Quintus always was a Dreamer. He saw value in life - all life. He also saw value in allowing his creations a sense of self-determination; the ability to make your own choices. Like all sentient beings, you have the power and responsibility to decide for yourselves who you will be, and what you are for. No one else can say. That's the beauty of it."
Rung squints behind his glasses, and his expression becomes much less certain. "Of course, some of Quintus' creations are not so… congenial as yourselves. But it is ultimately the creations' choice which makes them so. You will always have a choice to behave as you feel proper. That is the true gift."
Rung takes a few steps past Twitch and Thrash, towards the woods in the direction they'd come running from. "Of course, you will have the benefit of loving guidance from your peers, human and Cybertronian alike. Not all will be so lucky as the fi- two of you."
Twitch feels her brows draw together. She feels confusion, and pressure. She knows Thrash is experiencing something similar. What if she makes the wrong choice? She glances up at their new friend. He's taken to polishing his glasses using a rag pulled from who-knows-where. She doesn't want to disappoint this mech. Almost as much as not wanting to disappoint Dad, or Mom, or Bee, or Megatron, or-
"It's no test, Twitch. There is really no 'right' or 'wrong,' only different paths made by different choices. And everyone, always, has the ability to make a different choice. Everyone can change." He's glancing back at Twitch, and his smile is back, too; small but so, so bright.
"How'd you do that?" Thrash asks abruptly.
Both Twitch and Rung make a questioning noise.
"How'd you know what Twitch was feeling? What I was feeling?"
Rung's eyebrows rise a bit in what Twitch thinks might be surprise. It's odd how much of a difference his glasses make. He's silent for a bit, before dipping his head and a puff of laughter escapes.
"One explanation is: when you've lived for as long as I have," he chuckles, "you learn to read others with decent accuracy. It's a good help."
"But what-" Thrash starts.
Twitch can't help it, and she's jumping in, "It's not just that! What about before? Like when we didn't know you were you, and we just felt it?"
Thrash is nodding so fast he's practically a blur. "Me an' Twitch felt weird for weeks. And it was you. We felt what you were feeling. And I was thinking maybe you can do the same as we- uh, like how we feel with each other?"
Rung watches, and waits, listening to their attempts at explanation become more convoluted by the sentence. Thankfully, before either she or Thrash can get too frustrated, he raises both hands in a calming gesture before speaking again.
"The bond you share is special. You're connected. You will be connected for life. We are also connected, though to a lesser extent. At one time, all of Cybertron was. But that time has long passed." His expression turns downward, a small frown. "I wish I could say I was surprised that feeling has been forgotten by so many. But that's somewhat unfair. You two are very new, and so many of us are very, very old."
"You mean this feeling could go away?" Twitch asks, voice small.
"No, no," Rung insists simply, "as I said, your bond is special. You will never forget where you've come from, nor will you forget the ones you'll grow alongside. You are all so very lucky."
And maybe it's the confidence felt in those words, or the sadness in Rung's eyes… Thrash and Twitch are satisfied to drop the subject (at least for right now). They chatter away, talking about family, training, everything they can think of that might entertain their new friend.
Twitch knows he's a friend, someone they can trust. She knows Rung; somehow, it feels like she always has. And someone she's known her whole life can't possibly be a stranger. She can't possibly forget the mech who smiles like the light, who feels like coming home.

So apparently the initial reactions to Transformers One are that it’s going to be amazing -

After Earthspark failed on a viewership and commercial level, and Season 2 managed to alienate its existing audience with an ill-thought retool that just made things make less sense, One is probably the best chance the franchise has to avoid completely going into hibernation for an extended period ala Power Rangers, and may also define their future with Paramount, which is very publicly dealing with its own problems as they scramble to find a buyer.
The whole thing also feels like it might be the last chance for the franchise to release something fun for a long while (unless you’re reading the Energon Universe comics, which you totally should be) opposite a lot of boring, heavy material that either took most of its cues from unpopular IDW comics, or was desperately trying to reminisce about the glory days of the Bayverse, to diminishing box office returns as Rise of the Beasts demonstrated. I’m pretty sure if One bombs, the GI Joe/Transformers crossover doesn’t happen, and Hasbro begins planning an exit strategy.

Blog intro and AU Masterpost
this is a dedicated transformers sideblog (my main blog being @via-cognita) because I've been absorbed into the fandom during the end of October 2024 courtesy of TFOne's release and I don't see myself getting out anytime soon my fandom fixations usually last like 2 weeks before cycling out for another how is this happening
this blog will consist of both of me rambling about several AUs I had since falling into this rabbit hole as well reblogs memes and miscellaneous thoughts. There may be fanart incoming but I'm not used to drawing mecha soooooo i'm not sure. Maybe expect some humanformers art idk.
Expect the list to expand overtime because I have way too many ideas circling around my brain.
Current AUs include
Transformers Entropy: fan continuity inspired by a variety of canon and fan content, roughly divided into 4 seasons, with season 1 being pre-war, season 2-3 taking place during the war and a tentative season 4 for post-war content. there's a lot to entropy and expect me to post the most on this blog about it.
Recalibrated Morals: Earthspark x FunPub shattered glass, in which some former Autobots, now known as the Knights of Unicron, navigate relationships with Autobots and Decepticons alike after regaining their sense of morality on Earth following the destruction of Cybertron.
TF SG Tinted Lenses AU (or just the tinted lenses au): SG AU. Once two allied revolutionary factions, a fallout between the Autobot and Decepticon leaders result in a civil war following the fall of the corrupt senate. The AU follows a few separate but interconnected story arcs following the various conflicts between the Cybertron Imperium and the Ascenticons.
Fragmentation AU: slightly G1 inspired. Combiners start off as one consciousness, but their components also gain their own sentience overtime. chaos ensues.
SG Fragmentation AU: same core concept but with SG characterizations.
The Scattered Glass collection: A series of mostly unrelated one-shots (unless specified otherwise) in which I only shatter some of the characters. Essentially a baseline x sg crossover, but everyone is in the same world.
Exile beyond space and time (or just the Exile AU): semi IDW-based, after being blasted with the integrated time drive, instead of directly going back in time, Shockwave aka the Exile becomes a timeline and continuity-hopping ghost like G1 Starscream. He shows up in my other AUs for funsies.
Feel free to send me questions about my AUs because I love infodumping :D
I have no idea how long this fixation will last so this blog may spontaneously become less active, but I'm looking forward to having fun while it lasts and eventually comes back :D

A New Welcome Post
Updated: December 5, 2024
Hello again, Tumblr. We were trying to come back over the summer, but we had an emergency where we thought we were going to lose our home, so all our free time went to packing.
Things are still uncertain on that front but they have settled down for now. But shortly after that crisis, we both caught covid. Neither of us have felt quite right since then. We're very tired all the time these days, so we can't keep up with our writing blogs the way we wanted to. So, here is yet another re-introduction.
This is our NSFW blog. It's mostly Transformers, but there might be some other stuff now and then. We'll see. Most of this blog will be reblogs of stuff we like, but every now and then we will post our own writing as well.
For SFW content, you can also find us @spectralquartzstudios
The people running this blog:
Jules - 29 - they/them - AO3
Rosie - 32 - she/they - AO3
We are married and we have been together since 2018. We love writing and drawing together.
We've been in fandom spaces for ~20 years. We've seen a thing or two, we know a thing or two, and we are tired of bullshit. So if you come here onto our pages for anything other than supporting our fun/having fun with us you're getting blocked. End of story. We love sharing our work with others but at the end of the day we are our target audience.
About our works + Rules:
1. You must be over the age of 18 to interact with this blog. If you do not have your age in your bio, are a minor or you are suspected of lying about your age, you’re getting blocked. This blog is not for kids.
2. We are self shippers. Our self inserts are together and they have a big polycule.
Rosie's mains - Megatron, Bumblebee, Rodimus, occasional Ratchet
Jules' mains - Optimus Prime, Starscream, Drift, occasional Rodimus and Senator Shockwave
There are others, but those are the ones we talk about the most.
3. Most of our works are in our own fan continuity. It is canon soup, pulling mostly from IDW, Earthspark, Bayverse, and Knightverse/ROTB. There are other series sprinkled in as well. There is a multiverse aspect to it, and it is technically a massive multi-fandom crossover. So there may be stuff from The Arcana, My Hero Academia, Hazbin/Helluva Boss, and Marvel. The polycule does extend into these other fandoms as well, but since this is largely a Transformers blog there may not be much from them (for now?).
4. Occasionally we will take requests in our asks. Anon will be turned on for small windows at a time. If we are not taking requests, anonymous stays off. This is because of the steady stream of hateful anons in our inbox whining about the "hetero shit" regarding Rosie and Megatron. (Literally no one in this fictional polycule is cishet. I am begging y'all to touch grass and do something about your misogyny and fetishization of gay men. You sound like the type of people to bully a passing t4t couple at pride for "looking straight").
Along with that bullshit, keeping anon off also keeps us from being overwhelmed with too many asks.
Occasionally we will also write about non self insert ships, such as Drift/Ratchet. But most of those will likely be by request only. We do have a character and ship list available for when requests are open.
5. We are not interested in dark content or extreme fetishes, so you will not find many (or any) posts containing noncon, dubcon, vore, gore, fat fetish/feederism, birthing kink, or anything unsanitary. We will not write any of those either.
6. Unlike some people on this site, we actually try to put effort into tagging our posts accordingly. Including our robot x human stuff. So we've done our part. If you need something extra tagged, let us know and we'll do our best. But if it is tagged and you still wanna whine, you're getting blocked. More info on our tags here
If anything written above icks you out in any form then this is not the blog for you.
Thank you for reading.

DID I JUST SAW YOU'RE MAKING AN ARCANA AND TRANSFORMERS CROSSOVER???????
A CROSOVER BETWEEN THE VISUAL NOVEL THAT CHANGED MY ARTSTYLE AND MY WAY OF WRITE FOREVER AND MY CURRENT FIXATION THAT NEVER MADE ME WRITE OR DRAW OR DARED ME DRAWING AS NOW??????????????
TELL ME MORE PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAASEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Indeed, this has been a bit of a passion project for nearly the past year and a half that I've been having SO much fun building.
It started with a few different thoughts. 1: Aisha and Salim would adore the bots.
Thought number 2: Lucio and Starscream have a near identical list of war crimes, all the way down to unintentional bio-terrorism, and that's hilarious
Thought number 3: I finally have an au to put my humanformers stuff in, I get to see everyone interact with each other, this is going to be so good. (My faceclaim for Shockwave is Hugh Jackman and I can't stop thinking about them)
I first wrote about Aisha, Salim, and Nadia meeting Optimus and crew last year in September, but I am currently rewriting this, so keep an eye out for that ;)
On the TF side, we mostly pull from the live action movies, Earthspark and IDW but there's other series in there too. It's genuinely a big giant canon soup. And since IDW and Earthspark are in there, the war is over and everyone gets along, because I said so. Just all around good fun. We need more of that imo.
On the Arcana side, it's also technically canon soup but pulls mostly from Lucio's upright end.
There's also characters from My Hero Academia, Marvel, and Hazbin/Helluva Boss that occasionally make appearances, but it is mostly Transformers/Arcana focused.
It's created some very interesting and fun friendships like Salim and Wheeljack, Nadia and Ratchet, and Megatron and Arne. A couple relationships, like Portia and Minimus Ambus. And... Some new enemies, like Rodimus and Asra. (okay, maybe enemy is an exaggeration lol)
I also FINALLY have a story written about how Rosie and Jules end up in the Transformers universe in the first place. I've had it hand written for a few months now but I finally posted the first chapter today!

So the current hullabaloo is Hasbro isn’t funding any more movies going forward due to a string of flops, TFONE among them, and people are freaking out.
Now having looked over it, they never say they’re NOT making more movies, they’re just not going to help fund more going forward, as stuff like Snake Eyes and TFONE proved to be a huge money sink. They’re also not going to be creatively involved as much either, though going by some fans’ poor reaction still to Bayformers, maybe Hasbro was never THAT involved to begin with.
So what does this mean going forward?
Heck if I know. None of us truly understand what’s going on here, but what we can infer is at the end of the day is Hasbro doesn’t want to pay out of pocket for more potential flops.
Most likely it’ll just be purely licensing similar to Skybound, where the Energon Universe was given the opportunity to do what it wants, and in this case, did so to great success after they won over Hasbro with their pitch.
In other words Paramount and/or Skydance pay Hasbro a fee to use the Transformers in movies, vs it being a more direct collaboration like before.
Until something else is stated, it sounds like the GI Joe team up movie is still a go, along with future TF projects with Josh Cooley. Transformers as a brand still does well for Hasbro overall, and we’re still on track to get CyberWorld and Wild King next year. So situation is mostly normal.
Still, the best we can do is speculate.
A big problem with IDW and post RiD15 cartoons were this huge insistence on making the Decepticons sympathetic, there by making Megatron into an Autobot. I will die on this hill, this has been a major issue. The average Joe wants Megatron to be a villain again, they want the Decepticons to be an evil empire bent on galactic conquest. That is the story we’ve had for 40 years, clearly that formula worked. Changing it now has led to same apathy the Pokémon anime is stuck in since it swapped out Ash for Liko.
The problem I continue to have is if they want to retire the Decepticons and Megatron as the villains that’s fine, they just need to pick a successor but they’re still so unwilling to do so. The Terrorcons and Quintessons feel like that’s what Hasbro wants, but for some reason we haven’t had a definitive modern take on the Autobots fighting them instead of the Decepticons.

Mandroid and his Arachnamechs feel like another attempt at proper villain faction, but they screwed it up too.

The Quintessons took over later in EarthSpark, but their main leader (that we know of) is dead now, and the show haphazardly has otherwise retuned to the Decepticons being the antagonists.
Prior to that in WFC and Cyberverse, it felt like there was a push to get the new Mercenary faction up and running as villains…
But that went nowhere too. Not helped is Hasbro seems to be ignoring this group entirely now…
Skybound started their TF book with the usual Decepticon conflict, albeit cranked up to 11, but trained the idea started with the first Bay film and TFA, by slowly building up to Megatron. The leaders now on Earth are Soundwave leading the main faction while Starscream has taken command of a splinter faction made up of the Combaticons and Astrotrain. Shockwave was the leader on Cybertron but, barring anything left field, he’s dead now, with an injured Megatron having escaped Cobra-La, but his current plans and whereabouts unknown atm.
So on top of being indecisive with replacement factions, it also feels like most want a return to basics, which means the traditional Autobots vs Decepticons approach. Skybound has largely succeeded in this front with Transformers, same with their GI Joe series. It’s probably because of the success of the Energon Universe Hasbro and Paramount still want to push forward with their own crossover movie, and as much as fans want to complain about Joes in their Autobots, the two series have crossed over frequently SINCE the 80’s. I’m actually more surprised Galaxy Force and Sigma 6 didn’t team up nor did Prime and its Joe counterpart. We ALL know Cobra Commander would want to use the Earth Cyber Planet Key for dumb nefarious reasons and I’m sad we never got Cobra aligned Destrons doing a Force Chip Ignition lol.
Anyhow, on the off chance more TFONE stuff continues, my guess is the former approach will be taken: the heroic Autobots vs the evil Quintessons, with Optimus convincing Megatron to begrudgingly help them.
I believe it was said the villains for CyberWorld are still Decepticons but the choices give me a Predacon and Terrorcon vibe.

Wild King on the Japanese end, post EarthSpark, makes me wonder if we’re reverting to how things used to be. Transformers is co owned by Hasbro and Takara, but both companies go their own directions with the characters, which is how we got stuff like Victory, Car Robots, Beast Wars II, and recently the Trigger PV.
What happens post EarthSpark and post TFONE will be very interesting going forward if nothing else. Skybound’s continued success will probably influence things to some extent as I strongly feel going back to basics is what’s going to help in the long run.
