Updated my old snake mascot for fun. Hand-animated it, because it felt more entertaining
A bit out of left field if you don't have the context. I've used the artist name 'Snake' for most of my life at this point. It's been so long I completely forgot I had a little snake mascot for a short while. Ca. 2007-ish I think. Used to look like this:
Artfight Mask Attack 2023 - I decided it would be fun during Artfight to try out a test of my procedural animation software to see what I was capable of churning out with it. Long story short, I created a series of pixelart drawings of other masked femme/they/them OCs on Artfight, separated them into parts, and utilized similar animation parameters to essentially create a YCH template for a mass outfit swapping tool. This was a VERY fun project, and I hope every attack recipient enjoyed their piece. +)
Individual attacks and OC credits after the break.
By row:
@bastrod 's Clay, made as a last minute revenge and thus lacking an outfit swap.
(Twitter) Luhshin's Nichi, cloak originally made for Axia.
@luckyzbrain 's Aeon, outfit hybridized with Iris.
(Twitter) RealYoshicomix's Axia, outfit made for Aeon.
(Twitter) KEIIPHOBIX's SMILEY, outfits made for Termite and Iris, respectively.
@chickie-dee 's Electra, outfit made for my own OC, Tax.
@ch-ch-ch-cherry-bomb-253 's Termite, outfit made for Nichi.
@roundoudou 's Iris, outfit hybridized with my own OC, Tax.
I raffled a little idle pixel off to my ko-fi subs, and here's the finished thing!!
I'm very happy with how it turned out ^^ I've been enjoying doing these a lot. I want to practice animating them a little bit more soon too- i've been learning some stuff about pixel animation
When I started doing pixelart I made a lot of bouncy 1-bit pieces.
Looking at them now I can only see how I could have made the animation even more smooth and pleasant, however I regret the simplicity with which I used to draw some things...
I really, really like that little Link :)
(If you wonder where you can find my other works -> Bat Art! )
