After I’m done with the little one shots I’m planning on writing a short series of a Kaveh x Reader x Alhaitham university au. Unless it changes, the story would be called ‘The Geniuses’ Silly’. This is because I intend for it to be a comedy of some sort.
These will be the characters in it so far:
Y/n L/n (you), Kaveh, Alhaitham, Tighnari, Cyno, Nahida, Wanderer, Nilou, Layla, and Dori.

if you could choose a darshan, which one do you think fits you best?
[ extra information: darshans are disciplines/courses with their own specialties and there are six of them under the akademiya. so, think of this as my asking you to choose a university course but genshinfied. (/lh) ]

HIIIII i always love finding more women-centric blogs :]
Anyways! May I request some relationship hcs of Layla (genshin)? Jus some real fluffy stuff. She’s so cute and I love her <3
Hello hello anon!
Live laugh love women
Layla is adorable<3
-She constantly apologizes to you for not being able to pay attention to you. She's just so busy with her studies and Illuminationism:( By the time she's done for the day, she's almost dead asleep and most of the time you find her snoozing on her desk. Sometimes, she has the energy to either call out to you or come to you. Even if she does manage to lay with you and snuggle, it won't be long till she starts sleepwalking.
-I hc Layla to love love lovee cuddles and forehead kisses<3. The more she can get, the better! Laying in bed with her lover, soft touches and kisses here and there, cuddles, ugh, she loves it.
-Layla absolutely adores you. You're so endearing and understanding and even bring her snacks and beverages when she's too busy studying and drawing those crazy hard star charts. Poor baby:(
-Promises to take you on many, many dates once she's done<3 At the end, you're the one dragging her out of the house to get some sunlight.
-She's so needy. Loves to feel you, to kiss you, to touch you. She wants your reassurance, it makes her feel better, considering that her assignments are so damn hard. Melts when you praise her<3
Absolutely adorable

I apologise if this is out of character and short. I promise I can do better ;)

Okay sooo I’m a big lazy perfectionist soooo
How about Lisa,Layla,Faruzan trying to make me go outside for non-perfectionist reasons
Look up for females
Pick one and have fun with it
Look down for the males
How about Albedo,Tighnari,Venti trying to make me go outside for non-perfectionist reasons
(seperate) Lisa, Layla, Faruzan x lazy perfectionist reader
Summary: They drag your ass out (im sorry i still dont really understand but i tried 〒v〒)
Lisa sighed. You were being very difficult. Here you were, sitting on a chair attempting to correct your mistake. From an outsider point of view, your painting was a complete masterpiece but to you, it was absolute shit. You could see every single wrong on it. "Cutie, if you don't go on a stroll with me to collect overdue books, I will zap you." she said in a sweetly menacing tone.
You freaked out. "I-I can't! Don't you see? This flower here is too dark compared to the others!" you had run out of your paint color that you mixed earlier and tried attempting to recreate the same color, but it was either too dark or too light. It was very stressful.
"OW! Lisa! stop shocking me!" you cried in pain. Lisa was beyond pissed at this point. She grabbed you by the collar and started dragging you out the door as you clung to your chair. "NooOoOo Lisaaaaa.." you sobbed as she dragged you outside. Finally letting go of you, she turned around and crossed her arms, furious.
"Maybe i should leave you here hmm? Do you want that?"
"No..."
"Then be a sweetheart and help me collect overdue books"
"Its too far..." you groaned.
"I wasn't asking" she smiled in yet again, a menacing voice.
This time, you could see sparks practically radiating from her. Scary... maybe it wouldnt hurt doing this right?.. plus you're doing this with her so it can't be that bad...
You got to see an even more terrifying side of her when someone didn't return their book.
Layla had fallen asleep while you on the other side of the room was busy finalizing a report in your astronomy class. You too were studying in the field of Illuminationism, and you were finalizing a report due the next day. You sighed. You've been at this for more than two whole hours and you couldn't think of how to wrap your essay up. You had a decent grade (I'm not sure how the Greece grading system works since the Akademiya is based off an ancient school in Greece i think), but you still wanted to push it higher. studying just took so much work and energy. You're still way above average so its good enough.
Someone, who you assumed was Layla (since she's the only person in the room with you, that'd be weird if it wasn't), tapped your shoulder excitedly. Ah right. She had this different persona whenever she slept. it was a bit odd at first but you got used to it. "Yes Layla?" you turned to her.
She was staring a bit too much at you as she smiled. "Lets go out on a walk!" she exclaimed. Now?? at 1 in the morning? You raised an eyebrow. "Layla, its too dark outside, what if we get ambushed? You have a vision but i don't." you frowned
"I'll go by myself then!" she grinned, skipping to the door. "No! Wait hold on, i'll go with you" you sighed giving in. . You were also worried she might do something dangerous if she was alone. Her sleepwalking persona was quite the character. Leaving one last glance at your unfinished papers, you stepped out the door where Layla was, practically glimmering with happiness and energy. Running after her, you tried your best to tire her out before you tired yourself out.
Finally, after what seemed like a millennium, she decided to head back. The only good thing that came out of this was Layla giving you many ideas how to finish your essay. Perhaps skipping a few classes wouldn't hurt right?.. Perhaps you could feign a cold..
Faruzan was knocking on your door impatiently. "Y/n!" she called multiple times. What time was it?.. 5 in the morning?..you sighed. Why was she even here?..
"If you don't come out here right now i will break your door down!" 'she sounds like a mom' you sighed. "We have to go explore the ruins today!"
Oh. right. ruins. You, still half awake, could not process her kicking your door down and carrying you to the ruins fast enough. "What?..sand?.."
sand. "FARUZAN." you screamed in a panic. she dropped you on the ground, scoffing. "Its madam to you, y/n." she crossed her arms. the coarse sand beneath your feet, the sand under your clothing, the sand in your eyes. It felt awful. You ran like the speed of light to the ruins, where it had hard cool stone underneath the shadow. Dusting yourself off, you glared at faruzan. "Faruzan." You started. "Once we finish this, i'm switching my field of study."
"You can't do that!" she frowned. "Respect your elders!" she hit your head. "Ow!" you yelled, stomping off to somewhere within the ruins.
You were lost. Perhaps this ruin was solely a maze. "Faruzan?" you yelled, hoping for an answer. shhhekkkk. shheek. You turned around, petrified. There standing behind you was a primal construct, preparing to attack. Damn it. You really shouldn't have seperated from Faruzan. Especially when you wielded neither weapon or vision.
You cried running from it. You ended up (barely) in one piece by the end of your ruin adventures after promising to stay with faruzan and calling her "madam" from then on.

The Sumeru Akademiya, Astrology, and Mona's mysterious origins
(Originally posted on my Twitter on August 27 and 28, 2022.)
Sumeru is exciting for a multitude of reasons, but a major point for me is learning more about astrology from astrologist characters other than our beloved Mona Megistus!
One of the six Darshans of the Akademiya is Rtawahist, a department dedicated to Illuminationism, the study of the stars that includes astronomy and astrology.
Tumblr media
The ex-Grand Sage of the Akademiya was the sage of Rtawahist, Azar. This means that an astrologist was leading the school. You would think this means astrology is a well-respected subject in not just the Akademiya, but Sumeru as a whole. However, it seems that isn't the case.
Tumblr media
The elderly researcher (who refers to himself as an astrologist) implies that they are not being funded well, but that may be a recent thing. There's lots of talk of a secret project (that we now know was the Fatui working with the sages to make a god out of Scaramouche) diverting much attention and money away from other research projects.
Notably, Qushji mentions Hydromancy, the art of divining fate from the stars' reflection in water, which was developed by none other than Mona's master herself! In the 3.x Archon Quests thus far there's been no mention of Mona's master or Mona.
Tumblr media
To my current in game knowledge, it's unclear how much, if at all, Mona and her master are affiliated with the Akademiya and astrologists in Rtawahist.
The newly released character, Layla, an Akademiya student from the Rtawahist Darshan and specializing in theoretical astrology, has this to say about Mona:
Mona Megistus, the Astrologist... Her astrology column in The Steambird is well-known among Rtawahist scholars. Her articles always cover super specialized topics, but can still be appreciated by non-academics. That's no easy feat... Huh? Her name seems to just roll off my tongue? Uh, that's just because... I have a lot of respect for... amazing people.
This seems to imply that Mona (and by extension her master) are independent of Rtawahist and the Akademiya.
Another researcher, Ashk, has a very interesting conversation with the Traveler. He implies that due to human ignorance and therefore error, the truth divined from the stars may be incorrect or misleading. When he asks the Traveler what they think, you receive a reward for choosing the second dialogue option, "Things might not be as they seem..."
Tumblr media
What stuck out to me is the talk of ignorance in the nation of wisdom. Mona's cinematic from her mirage in Summer Fantasia described the crystal bird as, "born in wisdom, but trapped in ignorance".
Tumblr media
Given that this event directly preceded Sumeru, I don't believe the choice in words is a coincidence.
The same researcher goes on to speak about research into constellation. It seems that in order to study those, one must have a Vision. It's still a bit unclear whether only Allogenes have constellations, or everyone does regardless.
Mona's line about constellations implies the former. This exchange is important because it plants the idea that destiny - the past in this instance - can be altered if someone is the one deciding it in the first place.
Tumblr media
This is a reoccurring theme in the game - rewriting fate, challenging destiny. I'm very curious to see if Mona will make an appearance in the Sumeru storyline at some point, and if we'll finally learn more about her master and Hexenzirkel in turn. The set-up is there!
At the beginning of the Sumeru Archon Quest, Haypasia gives us our first introduction to the Rtawahist Darshan. She describes its goals as studing astrology, astronomy and the stars’ link to destiny, who then also try to connect with Irminsul to deepen their knowledge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That sounds a lot like Hexenzirkel.
Tumblr media
I've speculated about Mona's master and/or Hexenzirkel possibly being affiliated with the Akademiya. If her master were to have that connection, I wonder why Mona doesn't? We know next to nothing about Mona's origins or past.
We don't even know why she's studying astrology, how she met her master, and how Mona came to study under her. Mona is steeped in mystery, and that's how she's meant to be. Her character introduction on the Genshin Impact website describes her as "a mysterious astrologist".
Tumblr media
Many people assume Mona is from Fontaine because she writes the column "All Things Astrological" for its famed newspaper, The Steambird, but we have no indication of where she came from. Is it Sumeru? Is that where she met her master and studied astrology?
Time will tell!

Pray to Blades of Grass (Village Keeper!Cyno AU) Notes! Part 1 of 2
Since I didn't write the entire AU, I decided to post my notes about what took place before the one-shot Pray to Blades of Grass (read here!). The notes are point form and below the cut.
See part 2 of the notes here because there was too much for one post.
Both these notes and the fic are a TW for past/referenced suicide attempt + self-harm.
Pray to Blades of Grass
Cyno’s name was nothing but a ghost story among Rtawahist scholars, his genius all but forgotten beyond the label of “mad scholar.”   Tighnari never forgot.  . Tighnari has spent four years travelling between Gandharva Ville and Aaru Village. He made peace with his loss, happy to have even what little of Cyno remained. Nahida wouldn’t let that stand. (AU where Cyno was never General Mahamatra.)
Cyno was part of the Spantamad darshan (elementalism, the same as Lisa) but decided to change schools to the Rtawahist darshan (illuminationism, and also Haypasia's darshan) due to an interest in understanding the gods. He was student when he and Tighnari met. He was considered a genius within the Sumeru Akademiya for his work in Spantamad and for making brief contact with Irminsul after only a couple years of training. (Even faster than Haypasia).
Tighnari worried about the danger, but he trusted Cyno. By the time everything happened, he and Cyno had already been together for some time.
Cyno, like Haypasia, tended to forget to eat when meditating, which he usually did in a special, mirrored mediation room at the Akademiya. I can't believe that all Rtawahist scholars meditate in the forest, so it would make sense for them to have rooms designated for that.
Tighnari brought him food after one such mediation session where, unknown to him, Cyno successfully contacted Irminsul and Divine Knowledge. I headcanon that what causes the madness in scholars isn't actually the divine knowledge, but rather, they come in contact with the withering within Irminsul.
Tighnari knocked and, when Cyno didn't answer, opened the door to the room. It smelled strongly of Spirit Borneol. The room's mirrors were shattered, and Cyno was collapsed on the ground, covered in blood. He held a shard of the broken mirrors in his hand. Tighnari dropped the food he had brought and tried to staunch the bleeding as he screamed for help.
Cyno was taken away for medical care, and Tighnari was questioned extensively by the Matra. After Cyno woke up, he was officially deemed a mad scholar and exiled to the desert. Tighnari didn't even get to see him again before that happened.
It takes two months for Tighnari to make it to the desert. His grades were slipping, he couldn't eat, had no appetite, and all his passion for his classes was gone. Rumours spread about him and Cyno.
The week that Akademiya students generally went to Port Ormos, Tighnari went to the desert. Getting there sucked, but he eventually arrived in Aaru Village. An older woman asks him if he's lost, and he explains he's looking for somebody. She sends him to Candace.
Candace is polite, if terse, and softens when he tells her he wants to visit his friend. Since the Akademiya views the mad scholars are some sort of contagion, very few people visited them, even friends and family. Tighnari is one of the first. When she points that out, Tighnari snaps that the Akademiya is full of shit and that there has never been a conclusive study to show that a scholar's madness is contagious-- it's propaganda to cover up the Akademiya's failings to protect their students.
When he asks after Cyno specifically, it takes Candace time to realize who Tighnari means. The Matra didn't tell them Cyno's name, and Cyno hadn't spoken since he arrived two months prior. She takes him to visit Cyno, who lives with a family in the village. (I refuse to believe they just let the Village Keepers live in tents around the village, so I have them stay with families who care for them as best they can)
The family he lives with is surprised at the visit but gladly invites them in. They tell Tighnari about what they've noticed, like how getting Cyno to eat is difficult, and he likes to scribble indecipherable symbols over all the paper he can find. Tighnari says he'll help if he can but doesn't know how it will go since he didn't get a chance to talk to Cyno before he was exiled.
Cyno's room is small, with just a straw bed and table, but it's well cared for. Cyno is also well cared for, with his hair brushed and braided-- something Tighnari knows he didn't do since Cyno never had the patience for that.
Cyno looks up when Tighnari enters and, for a moment, stares lifelessly before something like recognition enters his gaze. He smiles and says, "Tighnari," his voice hoarse from lack of use, and Tighnari breaks. Cyno is obviously not living in the same world, but he recognizes Tighnari, which is more than Tighnari expected. He gets Cyno to eat and drink while there, and Cyno leans against him happily.
Tighnari reluctantly has to go but promises he'll be back. He returns to school, finishes his degree, and then leaves for the Avidya Forest with an adamant refusal to work with the Akademiya, partly because of what happened to Cyno.
Every two months, Tighnari takes two to travel and stay in Aaru Village with Cyno. The only reason he doesn't take Cyno back to Gandharva Ville is because he knows Cyno loves the desert.
Tighnari learns the name of everybody in Aaru Village and spends his time there helping treat their ailments in thanks for their care for Cyno. He brings Cyno incense (that he personally can't stand the smell of anymore), honeyed dates, dried mangoes, notebooks and pens, tea, etc., and tells Cyno all about the rain forest even if Cyno isn't lucid.

i saw a tiktok asking which darshan you’d be part of and i think i’d be part of spantamad darshan! here’s my reasoning:
amurta— specialises in biology, ecology, and medicine (this would just remind me of my traumatic experience with A-Lvl biology and i am NOT willing to put myself thru that again)
rtawahist— specialises in illuminationism, or the study of stars (i was considering this cause it sounds rlly interesting but i’m not exactly a massive star nerd)
spantamad— specialises in leylines, the elements, and alchemy (i! am rlly! invested! in the genshin elements and have always been fascinated with the ties between the leylines and teyvat. definitely a study i’d like to pursue a higher education in :> )
haravatat— specialises in semiotics, linguistics, and ancient rune studies (again, this would give me dreadful flashbacks to both GCSE german/french and A-Lvl german and english. no thanks. i’m choosing peace. but i do think being multilingual is hot and a great skill)
kshahrewar— specialises in technology, architecture, and puzzle-solving (i was SO close to picking this just to live out my dream of becoming an architect, but i’m much more interested in the elements. if the spantamad darshan didn’t exist i’d probably choose this one even tho i’m not great at puzzle solving BAJDJJWKJC)
vahumana— specialises in aetiology, history, and social science (i love me a bit of history but, again, i don’t wanna relive history GCSE. sounds super cool tho)

The Akademiya is the most prestigious institute located in Sumeru. Not only aiming for academic purposes, you can also enlarge your social skills since every student all over Teyvat is very welcomed in this place.
The Akademiya is divided into 6 Darshans, depending on your interest and skills, you can choose which major best suits you:
Amurta (Biology)
Rtawahist (Illuminationism)
Spantamad (Elementalism)

|| HC- Academic Specialties ||
Tumblr media
[The Rtawahist Darshan is founded with the core belief that by gaining knowledge and mastery of studying these stars, one will be able to comprehend the destinies and truths of the world. Hence, under the specialty of 'Illuminationism', several disciplines can be found. Some notable examples are astronomy and astrology.
As a student in said Darshan, Layla herself is a specialist in Theoretical Astrology. Her studies involve the creation of starcharts with the help of astrolobes, star logs and in-field surveys.
These star charts are then used as reference to create thesis', of which calculations on stellar orbits and star positioning, inferences, hypothesis, arguments, experimental method discussions and the like will be required.
While she does not realise it, Layla's many skills make her an exceptional student within the courses they have to undertake. She is excellent at observation and estimation, be it in her work or free time. So she is able to consistently and accurately track/predict the cosmos' shifting positions far faster than her peers. Her calculations in equations almost always are done mentally and quickly without the need for writing them down. Should her skills be used in tandem with students from other Darshans, they can potentially be helpful in different ways including:
Better understanding of changes in ecology, behaviour observation of organisms, plant/herb growth and cultivation of medicine based on the changing of moon cycles and planetary rotations
Better understanding of elemental and environmental uses in desert technology and harnessing it's potential through improvements and replicated effects,
Historical insight into the use of astrology and astronomy in olden days + social changes/effects this has on previous civilisations
Making sense of ancient text involving the detailing of now faded constellations, historical interpretations of the galaxy and skies
Studies into how moon cycles can potentially affect elemental leylines, elements and alchemy
