https://bit.ly/3FU6dIo - 📧 Spammers are exploiting Google Forms' "Release Scores" feature to deliver scams via email. This method, using Google's own servers, allows these emails to bypass standard anti-spam protections more effectively. Cisco Talos observed a significant increase in such spam messages, highlighting a new technique in cybercrime. #CyberSecurity #SpamTactics #GoogleFormsScams 📊 The spam emails, characterized by the subject line "Score released:", are generated through Google Forms quizzes. Spammers create a quiz, use the victim's email to respond, and then use the "Release Scores" feature to send customized spam messages. This abuse of Google Forms has seen a recent uptick, indicating a shift in spammer strategies. #EmailScams #DigitalThreats #OnlineSecurity 🔗 In a recent example, victims were directed to a second Google Form to "confirm" their email address. This led to a link to an external site, part of an elaborate cryptocurrency scam. The domain for this scam site, go-procoinwhu[.]top, was newly created and saw a surge in DNS queries, indicating the effectiveness of the scam's reach. #CryptocurrencyScams #PhishingAttacks #OnlineFraud 💰 The scam site presented victims with a fake claim of possessing substantial Bitcoin through "automatic cloud Bitcoin mining." The website is designed to appear legitimate, with features like a fake group chat. Victims attempting to claim their Bitcoin are led through a series of deceptive steps, including chatting with a fake agent and filling out forms. #BitcoinScams #WebFraud #InternetScams 💸 The final step of the scam asked victims to pay an "exchange fee" to convert the Bitcoin into USD, revealing the endgame of this elaborate ruse. The Bitcoin wallet address provided by the scammers, however, had no transactions, indicating no victims had paid as of the report date. This case exemplifies the lengths to which cybercriminals will go to conduct scams, reinforcing the adage that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Amy "Dolly" Everett #KILLED herself because of #Scammer ( #SUICIDE ) 14 years old
READ >>>
-
A 14-year-old girl who was the angelic face of an iconic Australian bushmen's hat brand was remembered by hundreds of mourners Friday after her suicide focused attention on the dangers of cyberbullying.
The memorial service for Amy "Dolly" Everett was held in the tiny Northern Territory town of Katherine near her family's cattle ranch. Most mourners dressed in her favorite color, blue, and many had driven hundreds of miles from distant ranches.
A photograph of a young Dolly, her smiling face framed by sun-kissed curls and shaded by a rabbit-felt hat, has been featured in advertising of Akubra Hats since 2009, most recently this past Christmas.
More than a century old and one of Australia's most iconic brands, Akubra has made so-called bush hats, the Australian military slouch hats and even the fedora worn by Harrison Ford's character Indiana Jones in the 1981 movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark."
Her family has blamed recent online bullying after Dolly's death last week but hasn't given specifics of the bullying or her cause of death. The tragic news travelled quickly via social media from the remote and sparsely populated cattle country of Australia's rugged far north.
Tips for parents: What to do if your child is bullied
"We are shocked and distressed to hear of the passing of 'Dolly'," Akubra said in a statement.
Stating that she chose to end her life to escape being bullied, the company said, "To think that anyone could feel so overwhelmed and that suicide was their only option is unfathomable.
Akubra, based in Kempsey, New South Wales state, has used the endearing Outback cowgirl image frequently in its marketing since it was taken at the remote Brunette Downs Station cattle ranch.
After the service, mourners released balloons and butterflies.
Her father, Tick Everett, flanked by his wife Meg and daughter Meg, urged parents to speak to their children about their relationships and bullying.
"Speak even if your voice shakes," he said, quoting a caption of a sketch of a dancer that Dolly had recently drawn. "Stop bullying and be kind and do it for Dolly," he added.
The debate about the perils to children of online communication caught the attention of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
"From pain and loss, we must renew our commitment to say no to bullying," Turnbull wrote in a Facebook comment.
The government had established an eSafety Commissioner to tackle cyberbullying and to work with internet companies to promote online safety, Turnbull said.
The opposition Labor Party's last prime minister, Kevin Rudd, tweeted, "Any form of bullying is an assault on our values. And in this young girl's life with lethal effect."
Northern Territory police say they are investigating the bullying allegations on behalf of a state coroner who will report on the cause of Dolly's death.
But no criminal investigation is underway. Coroners can recommend criminal charges at the end of an investigation into an unexpected death.

https://bit.ly/3CRcByu - 🌐 More than 2,700 people, tricked into working for cybercrime syndicates, were rescued in a major operation by the Philippine police. The victims, from China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and over a dozen other countries, were employed in fraudulent online gaming sites and cybercrime groups. The magnitude of the operation, focusing on seven buildings in Las Pinas city, Manila, underlines the growing concern of the Philippines becoming a significant base for such cybercrime syndicates. #HumanTrafficking #Cybercrime 🔍 Cybercrime, particularly scams, is rapidly becoming a prominent issue in Asia. Innocent individuals from the region and beyond are lured into jobs in countries like Myanmar and Cambodia, only to find themselves enslaved in cybercrime operations. This emerging trend highlights the need for more stringent measures to combat these cybercrime operations. #DigitalSlavery #InternetScams 🌐 The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has committed to fighting these syndicates, as demonstrated during a summit in Indonesia. The proposed measures include tighter border controls, reinforced law enforcement, and expanded public education about these illicit operations. #ASEAN #Cybersecurity 👮‍♂️ The rescue operation was spearheaded by Brig. Gen. Sydney Hernia of the national Philippine police’s anti-cybercrime unit. The victims consisted of 1,534 Filipinos and 1,190 foreigners from at least 17 countries, including China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, among others. #LawEnforcement #GlobalCybercrime 🏢 In a similar event, police raided another suspected cybercrime base in May, taking custody of nearly 1,400 Filipino and foreign workers allegedly forced to carry out cryptocurrency scams. These workers reportedly faced obstacles when trying to quit, including fear of being sold to other syndicates or being penalized with hefty fines. #CryptocurrencyScam #WorkersRights 💼 Misleading Facebook advertisements promising high salaries and ideal working conditions lured these unsuspecting workers into these cybercrime operations. This deceptive tactic underscores the necessity for online vigilance and skepticism regarding such too-good-to-be-true opportunities. #FalseAdvertisements #OnlineSafety ⚖️ Muhammad Mahfud, the Indonesian Minister who handles political, legal, and security issues, has expressed challenges in collaborating with Myanmar on cybercrime. ASEAN, he says, needs to fast-track a regional extradition treaty that would enhance the prosecution speed of offenders and curb the rise in cybercrime.

Phishing with a Net
Tumblr media
When the pros gave us the internet and the means to use it, they also gave us a new vocabulary segment… Geeks outshines athletes when it comes to crafting bad phrases. I have never understood why basketball players would say that a player "throws" a ball to a teammate in the outer ring when his foot never touches it. Worse still, I always wondered if a silver-haired player would really want to rush into the ball or if the carrier was really "coughing!" This literal image is more horrifying than handling a mouse. Do these people really mean what they say? However, there is a case where the programmers have thought about it and done it right. "Scam" is a perfect connotation for cyber criminals looking for prey. The spelling of the word distinguishes this harmful activity from sport, but it is still a game. The definition has been developed as "a technique used to obtain personal information for the purpose of identity theft, using fraudulent e-mail messages appearing to come from legitimate companies". These authentic-looking messages are designed to trick recipients into revealing personal data such as account numbers and passwords, credit card numbers, and social security numbers. This part of etymology appears to be in progress. The accepted definition refers to "those who gain unauthorized access to a computer system for the purpose of stealing and corrupting data." However, the qualified person added: "Hackers themselves, consider the appropriate term for such individuals to be cracker. Arguably, most of the time, they are aggressively going in the wrong direction. After all, crooks are crooks; that's their job and they're there in large numbers. That won't change any time soon. These victims must question themselves. The economics of law enforcement --- in cyberspace or elsewhere --- limits what can be investigated and prosecuted. As a result, smart usurpers often keep the "money" caught per phishing campaign low enough that the cost of pursuing them is unsustainable. They then change their contact details, as well as their identities, and start over. So obviously the most important factor in online diligence is self-preservation. Most of the steps are basic, as evidenced by a checklist on the US government's Federal Trade Commission website: "If you receive an email or pop-up message asking for personal information or financial, do not reply. And do not click on links in messages. Legitimate companies do not request this information via email. If you have concerns about your account, contact the organization mentioned in the email with a phone number you know to be genuine, or open a new internet browser session and manually enter the correct company web address . Under no circumstances should you cut and paste the message link into your Internet browser. Scammers may make links look like they're pointing to one place, but it's actually taking you to another page. "Use antivirus and firewall software and keep them up to date. Some phishing emails contain software that can damage your computer or track your Internet activities without your knowledge. " Anti-virus software and firewall-fire can protect you from inadvertently accepting such junk files. Antivirus software scans incoming communications for troublesome files. Search for anti-virus software that recognizes current as well as old viruses; which can effectively reverse the damage; and automatic updates. "Firewall keeps you hidden on the internet and blocks all communication from unauthorized sources. It is especially important to run a firewall if you have a high-speed connection. Operating system (such as Windows or Linux) or a browser (such as Internet Explorer or Netscape) may also provide free software "patches" to close system vulnerabilities that hackers or scammers can exploit. "Do not send personal or financial information via email. Email is not a secure method of transmitting personal information. If you are conducting a transaction and want to provide personal or financial information. through your organization's website, look for indicators that the site is secure, such as a padlock icon in your browser's status bar or a website URL that begins with "https:" ( The "s" stands for "secure"). Unfortunately, none of these indicators are reliable; some scammers have forged the security symbol. "Review your credit card statement and bank accounts as soon as you receive them for unauthorized charges. If your statement is more than two days past due, call your credit card company or bank to confirm your billing address and account balance. "Be careful when opening attachments or downloading files from e-mails you receive, regardless of the sender. These files may contain viruses or other software that could compromise the security of your machine. your computer.uce.gov and the company, bank or organization whose identity is listed in the phishing email Most organizations have information on their website about where to report Incidents. "If you believe you have been scammed, file your complaint . Scam Victims can become a victim of identity theft. As long as you have complete control over whether or not you become a victim of identity theft, there are steps you can take to help If an identity thief opens fraudulent credit accounts on your behalf These new accounts are likely to appear on your credit report. early if you periodically order a free copy of your credit report from one of the three major credit bureaus." TSB has Launched its Fraud Refund Policy
On 14th April TSB has announced its Fraud Refund Guarantee. Indeed, it is first time in UK Banking history. In the past some banks refused to refund the scammed money of the victims who made mistakes to keeping pin and card details together or who were tricked by sharing their sensitive information to a stranger.
TSB guaranteed that it will compensate all type of frauds and scams.
Now, victims of fraud will no longer have to fight for a refund, TSB announces “If you’re clearly an innocent victim of fraud on your TSB account, we’ll refund the money you lost from your account”
Obviously TSB will investigate your claim before refund. If you find involved in fraud, TSB will not refund you. You will not get future refunds if you repeatedly ignore personalized account safety advice.
“TSB Fraud Prevention Department” is always ready to give advice and setting up workshops across Uk to prevent fraud.
TSB will quickly investigate the fraud claim and it will understand how it’s happened. It will give you safety advice to make sure you’re not affected by fraud again. TSB will pay back your refund into your account as quickly as possible.
This guarantee is not applicable on the fraud losses that happened before Sunday 14 April 2019.
How is TSB Fraud Refund Guarantee different to other banks?
Before TSB’s announcement, a group of banks had agreed to compensate authorized fraud customers who lose their money as a result of bank failures but these have loopholes and so many conditions apply but with its guarantee complete refund all customers who are visibly innocent victims of fraud, TSB has gone one step ahead, and many banks will do the same.
