Feferi has an eldritch connection through the Horrorterrrors, and they could probably pull some dark magical shenanigans to get her body moving again. I think that's unlikely, though, since Feferi's ghost is active in the Dream Bubbles, and I don't think she'd actually want to be revived. After all, she's go a job to do.

I'm still convinced that Kanaya's coming back, but it's hardly going to happen while our back is turned. We're out of Kernelsprites, so she can't be prototyped - and we can't use her Dream Moon Slab, if it even exists, because Prospit's been destroyed by Jack.

Frankly, I can't think of a single realistic way to revive her short of time travel, and that's not a road we want to go down. I'm really trying not to think about what that might mean.

I guess that leaves Tavros.

There's definitely something going on with him that we don't understand. He was about to smooch Vriska before she stopped him, and the Breath symbolism surrounding the act makes me think it was more than just a typical Dream Self revival kiss. He has a hidden power, and that power seems to kick in when someone's dying.

Could Tavros be a little less dead than we've been led to believe? It's possible - his arc doesn't scan as complete to me. He'd only obtained the merest shred of confidence before Vriska brought him fatally down to earth, and I think there are still many interesting places you could take his character.

Gamzee’s rocking a new quirk. He’s still swapping cases, but they’re alternating every message rather than every character, as though his mind is less scrambled than it used to be.

Could this be how he talks when he's off the slime? He already seems more aware than before, and his grumpiness evokes a hangover - but he's honking more than he used to, which is the opposite of what I'd expect if he was sober.

It's not a great time for this to happen, but it's not like we can stop it now. So now, for the first time, we're interacting with a Gamzee who isn't out of his mind on soporifics. His shift in personality is already pretty drastic, and I'm interested in seeing what the real Gamzee is like.

When will the game be out?

Hopefully, early 2025, we will communicate an official date when we have more visibility. At the moment (16/08/2024) the full script is written, but we are still missing some key arts (all the CG, 5 sprites, and some MC customization), and a portion of the script still needs to be properly edited and translated.

Is there any DLC plan for the game?

On top of the MM romance DLC, we plan on doing a marriage DLC (with a standalone storyline for each love interest) and a short prequel telling the story of Mellissandre of Terinfel. Both have been funded on Kickstarter, but I have no dates to give you yet.

How much the game will cost?

The final price is not completely set yet, but it will be somewhere between 20€ and 30€. 💸 After careful thought, I also decided I will do proper regional pricing. 🎉 I was dubious because I know a lot of people are abusing the system with VPN but I don't want to punish the people who actually benefit from it. 💖

On which platform will the game be available?

The game will be available on Steam, GOG, and Itchi.io; at the moment, we are working hard to make it completely Steamdeck compatible! At the moment, a switch port is not possible but not excluded; if the game does well enough, we might be able to get a special partnership for this.

A mobile port is not on the pipe either, as it would require a full UI overhaul and regular updates to comply with stores, and our economic model is not appropriate for the mobile market.

In which language will the game be available?

The game will be available in French and English on release day. At the moment, we do not have the budget to translate the full game into another language but we are looking for solutions to allow the most people possible to enjoy the game.

The most reliable platform for news is Discord as I am very active on it. We also have a mailing list (with exclusive gifts upon joining!) and a twitter account.

What is the game rating?

The game doesn’t have official ratings (that cost money), but considering the mature themes in it, I would say 17+. Imperial Grace includes verbal (but not visual) descriptions of violence and consensual sex.

The game, especially through the petitions, also alludes to topics that may be sensitive, such as arranged marriage or suicide. The list of full trigger warnings is available on steam (beware spoilers). It might be subject to change depending on the petitions we include or not in the final game, I want to make sure that every sensitive topic is treated with care and really brings something to the story or denounces a social problem close to our hearts.

Sexy time, you say? 👀

The game features plenty of hot kisses and two optional sex scenes; they can be stopped (in game choices) and not happen at all or censored (fade to black). The text is explicit (anatomical parts are mentioned; it’s not all metaphor, but there is no vulgar words either.), and some suggestive but not pornographic images illustrate them. In other words, even the uncensored version of the sexy time will be safe enough to be streamed on Twitch but more steamy than what we usually find in otome games!

Is the MC customizable?

MC physical appearance is customizable to some extent: you can choose her skin color, her hairstyle, her eye colors (heterochromia possible!), and minor details like moles. The skin color options are not just recolors; the features are actually slightly different to reflect different ethnicities and bring more variety.

All customisation will be reflected in CG, except hairstyle (you can learn the difference between hairstyle and hair type on this post.)

What do you mean by “meaningful choices”?

Imperial Grace has over 200 choices during the main storyline; contrary to traditional Japanese otome game where there is usually a “good” and “bad” option for each choice leading to the best/good/bad ending, we have a more Dragon Age-like approach where most of the options are valid just entails different consequences to shape a more custom epilogue with tons of little variation to reflect your decision as Empress. (And there is instant game overs when you take very very bad decision :p)

Author Answer: For choice of games/hosted games, I like Night Road, the creme de la creme series, fallen hero (which is probably the most predictable recc ever), lies under ice was a really cool recent sci fi release, slammed! is old but pretty great. Separate to choicescript, Our Life Beginnings and Always has a special spot in my heart, it's very much a comfort game for me. I played Digimon Survive this year and although it's kind of a hybrid (it has a lot of turn-based strategy) it's a cool spooky VN. I like the zero escape series too, but also heavily criticise them the way that only somebody who likes something a lot can.

I have since moved the scene to ECSTASY and I will probably rewrite it a bit once the time comes. But I hope you guys will enjoy this little teaser, hehe. And if you are wondering: “Author-Pam, can’t you just write a wholesome scenario without throwing the angst at us?” Well, the answer is yes, but not really. I have been swimming in ShuuChiyo angst since 2017 or earlier, so until I reach their happy ending in the story I don’t know if I am physically able to switch to fluffy and wholesome like that. ​the code is actually already in the game, the cupcake decorating game is a dress up code, and it's used for the gallery to switch the sprites, but because of the DLC system it only shows a few outfits bc trying to put all of them would be messy when some are only in routes so i decided a full sprite gallery could only be possible if ALL dlc is unlocked :')

theres a few games I can think of that do have dress up and customization and most of them are pretty unique for doing that since the real hard part is stuff like CGs since... you would have to impliment as many variants as you can customize if the protag is visible, so a lot of games outright avoid showing the protag esp if theres a heavy amount of customization. things like just showing a hand on screen as the prince kisses it and the 5 skin tone variants is easy than showing a full of smooch lmaoo

Magical Diary DOES actually have the protag in art for the kiss scene at the end but it also notably has like, no other cgs in the game lol

Backstage Pass is a game where you can dress up (but not change) the protag AND it has the protag in CGs with variants in some of them but its... just as much work as you think it would be lol

a lot of games omit dress up functionality entirely because doing it at all is easy but doing it in a way that actually integrates into the game is whats hard. so they either make it Extremely Limited by giving the player like a handful of outfits at most, or do it extremely simple as in something like the protag is represented by a chibi avatar instead of a full portrait, or the protag is just never in CGs, and things like that. or sometimes both at once, like 5 outfits and you dont get a portrait anyways lol

ive already listed my favorite davekat fic, but THIS is my favorite homestuck fic period of all time ever the end. this is the best one. this is the ONLY one, as far as im concerned. you dont want to know how many times ive reread this fic ok. i love davesprite/karkat way more than i love dave/karkat (bc you know me w my doomed characters) and the way this author handles the interpersonal relationships between not just karkat and ds but also like ds and all of the OTHER characters is SO. I believe Ayato was extremely sweet and I don’t know how to feel when characters are written to act so cheesy. I do appreciate when they show their gentle side but he was literally made of sugar there and treated Yui like she was made of glass, which doesn’t sound like something Ayato would do because he is aware Yui is a strong girl. I understand that he’s caring but he was too desperate and worried for her there to the point that I didn’t get that playful teenage couple vibe for 80% of the route.

Can’t complain about the cgs, since I really love the CL ones! I just think the context behind some of them could have been better. This one is really cute but I’m sorry, the whole conversation made me cringe so much and the fact they were watched made matters worse. 😭😭

If there’s a scene that deserved a kiss then it is THIS one. The way Yui cheered Ayato up was one of the most precious things ever and I regret so much the fact they didn’t smooch or at least hug. :<

Maybe it’s just me but I feel like CL was merely made to hide or fix what happened in LE, after becoming the lowest rated DL game and getting a bunch of critics regarding the triplets’ (mainly Ayato’s) routes. Rejet most likely attempted to redeem the relationship between Ayato and his brothers in his CL route, but in my opinion, they didn’t do a great job. Something I can't stand anymore is how Rejet instills new insecurities in Ayato game by game, because it's getting really frustrating, especially since in LE and CL he starts disliking and belittling himself due to his brothers' treatment of him. They called Ayato selfish in CL despite the fact that, after regaining his memories, he put Yui on the first place and clearly stated wanting to protect everyone— On top of that, they took Ayato's idea of breaking the glass floor of the church while not allowing him to participate?? In the end, they acted like “good brothers” and granted Ayato permission to use his OWN idea but this still feels forced because that was the bare minimum. ://

I really liked the Good Ending though, since I love the scene where Ayato confronted his father and said“I decide my own fate!”; that was undoubtedly badass.

Overall, his route was kinda boring to me. It’s the most overly romantic route in DL, because there are too many cheesy and ichaicha scenes, so it might make you cringe a lot. But if you’re into romance and fluff, it’s perfect for you! :”)

I absolutely love how you guys made the MC more or less a blank slate, I find having a set appearance and solid personality to be a little bit jarring, but the way you are going to do it seems really good!

About the MC, I (as the writer) wanted to try and create a balance between 'the player can insert their own headcanons' and 'the MC has their own personality, dreams and aspirations', because I find the latter more engaging and easy to both write and empathize with. River has some established traits about them that the player can choose how to 'channel', but there's also quite the amount of things that are never specified about them, which I think helps create this balance. You will be able to test this in the demo, so I hope we can get a nice amount of feedback about it!

✦ About proofreading—we want to hire a proofreader, but sadly I'm not sure if we'll be able to properly pay for one with our current funds. All the donations we get on our ko.fi page are destined for this, but reality is the demo script is long and we want to pay people what their work is worth. There's a bunch of options we can weigh (and we still have plenty of time), but there's a chance the demo script will not be 'officially' proofreaded and we'll wait to get funded to hire someone to both revise the prologue and the rest of the game!

Also, now that you have brought up the MC's appearance, I will take the opportunity to talk a bit about our plans so far! I hope you don't mind, anon! 💜

✦ The MC's physical appearance?

Our current plan is to not have any visual depictions of the MC in the demo, but create a 'default' River for the full game so the CGs can be more diverse and include direct interactions between the MC and the LIs / the world. Note that we won't force the player to 'have to see' the MC on screen all the time if we end up choosing to depict them.

Following this train of thought, we would like to add a Kickstarter backer pledge that includes designing and adding a custom MCs as a 'default' option, and even a character creator whose customization is reflected in the CGs as a stretch goal. This is what we really, really would like to do; for the player to be able to customize the appearance of the MC however they desire (to a certain limit). Emphasis on ' would like to', because it's certainly ambitious and not an easy or cheap task. So these are just dreams and wishes for now.

Obviously, both depicting the MC or not doing it has its pros and cons, and we want to seize all options, listen to opinions and then settle on something. There's a lot of devs who have approached this in different, creative ways, so I know we have options and combinations out there.

In fact, Twin Coves' dev is now running a poll about this that you can find here!

Our plan is just that, a plan; it's not set in stone, and after the demo drops, we will make a poll to see how many of you would like one option vs the other and get to know your opinions. As of the demo, the MC won't have an established appearance and that is official, so rest assured that we will have time to listen to you all and assess our options.

Some Mine info

Because I have no asks I'm working on Haruto's fluff alphabet but it's gonna take a bit so I thought I'd ramble a bit about Mine cause I haven't really gone into how the mc is like or the gameplay or anything like that so I just wanna ramble about some idea I have :3

I wanna start with the mc just because there's probably the least to talk about with them. For starters they're a blank slate mc, so they won't have any design features other then their work outfit! The mc's personality is kind of...miserable? They aren't like super nice but their kind of passive. I mean if I had Hoshi and Habiki as coworkers I'd be more depressed too, but the mc doesn't really fight back, in game it'll talk about how they've tried to in more passive ways like telling the twins' dad but he just excused them so they've kind of given up. They're pessimistic and "boring"(As Hoshi would describe them, in reality they just don't have enough time for their hobbies because of Hoshi and Habiki pushing all their work onto the mc) They aren't super oblivious to their surrounding either. They're well aware they're being stalked and notices for the most part when the li's show obsessive tendencies, minus people like Haruto because he's just always been like that so that's just his personality, whether the mc agrees with it or not is honestly up to you. You can choose to be more assertive with your feelings when you notice something is up or you can pretend to not notice it and blow it off.

The game itself takes place over a week, not including the prologue. So the prologue starts on a Sunday and then you go through the entire week. At least in my eyes, that's not really enough time to really like someone and choose to be in a relationship, so in some of the endings you don't get to really date BUT you can admit attraction and say you want to get to know them better, maybe even smooch 'em on the cheek. The exception being people like Haruto or others you knew before.

In the epilogue dlc there will be multiple routes you can go down! First, you can choose to cut them out of your life, you realized that they're dangerous and your scared, you don't want to be around them. Second you can choose to just be friends with them. Third you can choose to date them and you can choose whether you live with them and also if you have any pets! Fourth route is marriage, you can choose in you live with them, if you have any pets or babies, stuff like that. You'll be able to choose one of these for the characters, for example. Marry Minato, (you won't be able to date multiple characters and you can't date anyone else if you're married, though in the early stages of mine where Hoshi and Habiki were tolerable I was gonna have a route were they'd be down to share you if you wanted to date them both. I still have to debate on that with them.) Friends with Haruto, Jun, Minato. Leave: Yani, Kei, Kage, Hoshi, and Habiki.

There will be a lot of endings! You can get one in the prologue! Each route has at least three endings! A bad end, a neutral end, and a happy end. Most routes will most likely have more bad ends or neutral ends. On top of those endings, there's also a true ending which you have to work for. You can't get the true ending until the very end of the game. I also have route order on here. When I write scenarios and stuff I write the characters in route order. Also there will be a lot of cg's because I love cgs! Nothing makes me more sad then when I'm playing a game with cgs and there's not a lot, though I can get why games are like that :) But yeah I want there to be at least one cg per day and a cg's for endings!

I plan on posting the prologue and the first day of every route before posting the rest of the week. So first I'll post the prologue and then Minato's day 1 before posting the rest of the week and then repeating the process with the other routes. There will also be a route selection because Mine is a very linear game that has routes in the order they're in for reasons. I might make a poorly animated selection screen to show you guys cause idk I kind of like the idea I have, it'd also be nice to post it on here so I don't forget anything. I plan on taking my time with Mine so there won't be any specific release date. I also get like hyperfixated on my other stories sometimes so I'll honestly probably be working on a ton of stories at once but Mine will always be the one I work on the most. Anyways I have a lot planned with Mine and I'm excited to do more work on it!

Sam's arm is seen in a sling because Jared injured his shoulder and had to have surgery. It was still healing when filming for the season commenced. The injury occurred while wrestling with Osric Chau at Jus In Bello Italy 2014. Watch video of Osric relating how it happened. The explanation given in the show is that Sam was injured by a demon while he and Cas were searching for clues to Dean's disappearance. Sam wears the sling in the first four episodes of the season. Jared had previously wore a plaster cast on screen in season two for episodes 2.05 Simon Said through to 2.11 Playthings, following an on-set injury to his wrist.
