johan/radney and/or johalvier/radney. I personally think it’s funny that these two noble brothers with holy blood would ditch everything they have for some random girl who hates them.

Brigit, Druid Goddess Brigit is a ‘pan Celtic’ goddess, who was worshipped by both the Goidelic and Brythonic Celts in the British Isles and beyond. She is a solar deity, who once hung her mantle on a sunbeam. In Celtic mythology, Brigit is the daughter of the Morrighan and the Dagda, the Good God and Chief of the Tuatha de Danaan, the ancient fairy race of Ireland, and the sister of Ogma, who invented the Ogham alphabet. She was the wife of Bres, King of the Fomorians (who were at war with the Tuatha de Danaan). Brigit was said to have been the mediator of peace between the two ancient warring tribes. She was the mother of the Three Gods of Danu – Ruadan, Iuchar and Uar. These three Gods were said to have married the three princesses of Ireland – Eire, Fodhla and Banbha. In other sources, Brigid is the daughter of Boann, the Goddess of the River Boyne in Ireland. Boann (bo fhionn) means ‘white cow’, an association she shares with Brigid. Brigit is primarily the patron Goddess of poets, healers and smiths. She is also a patron of other womanly arts – midwifery, dyeing, weaving and brewing, and the guardian of children and farm animals – particularly cows. The island of Ireland itself is said to be the green mantle of Brigit. She is also said to be the patron of travellers, sailors, and fugitives. She is specifically a patroness to the Druids in her aspects of poetry (Bards), healing and prophecy (Ovates) and blacksmithing (Druids).

[ FE4 Character Impressions 8 - yep, still crying ]
Went with darker background for these because I’m a sucker for high contrast.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- I actually like Iucharba (Yohalva) a lot more than I was expecting (axe users get shafted in FE4 tho, and he doesn’t get sick stat growths like the other babies u_u)
- Iuchar (Yohan) seemed like an OK human being (didn’t deserve to be k-worded). His waxing poetic and death quote about loving Larcei forever was supposed to be romantic I think but it just kinda weirded me out. Sucks that you have to k-word the one you don’t recruit. Can’t it just be one of those either/or choices? :[
- imagine naming your kids: Iucharba, Iuchar, and… Brian 🤪 I can’t tell if they gave up after Brian or from the very start
- Julius x Ishtar’s story breaks my heart 😭💔 Juju didn’t do anything wrong… he was just born the “wrong” twin 💔 Ishtar took me on an emotional rollercoaster, which ended with my heart breaking for her (and Julius), what a tragedy… I just want them to be happy 🥲
📣 FINN FOR THE WINN 📣
- Finn? I think you mean, FINE 😩💦
- In all seriousness though, Finn is the hero of this story. Without him, there is no MC for Thracia 776, jus sayin’ :T Also, royal blue hair? Obviously a descendant of the Hero King 👑
- I was SO glad to see that someone survived the Valhalla BBQ. After that, my first thought about Gen 2 Lewyn was, “dayum, he got hotter???” 😳🥵💦 If wind mage, why hot? 🔥 🤔 (not complainin tho ;’D)
SHANNAN OIFEY
- I cannot… I love them so much. Also, (putting the YUM in) DAYUMMMMM x2 😳😳😳 💗 FINE-ness aside I’m so so proud of them 😭💓💞💗 *sniffle* They did so well… 😭😭😭💗💞💗💓💕💞💓💘💖💖

The Spear of Assal / アッサルの槍, Areadbhar / アラドヴァル, and Lúin / ルーン
The Spear of Assal (JP: アッサルの槍; rōmaji: assaru no yari) is a sacred lance tied to the Crest of Cichol. According to the Lebor Gabála Érenn—a collection of texts telling the supposed history of Ireland—the Spear of Assal, or Gáe Assail in Irish, was the spear of Lugh, the god of light. As recompense for the killing of Lug[h]'s father Cian, Tuirill Biccreo and his sons Brian, Iuchar and Iucharba were tasked with the recovery of seven mythical items, one of which being the Spear of Assal. The book describes the spear as being ridged and red-gold in appearance. It is said that the spear craves to spill blood; who's blood is irrelevant. When the spear's wielder utters ibar "yew," as they throw it, it always strikes true; when athibar "re-yew" or "return-yew" is said, the spear would return to the caster.
Areadbhar (JP: アラドヴァル; rōmaji: aradovaru) is the Hero's Relic tied to the Crest of Blaiddyd, inherited by the royal family of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. According to the Irish tale The Tragedy of the Sons of Tuireann, Areadbha[i]r—rendered in Japanese the same as in Three Houses or as アーラーワル (rōmaji: ārāwaru)—was the lance of Lugh. In the story, Areadbha[i]r was one of eight mystical items needed to be attained by Brian, Iucha[i]r and Iucharba as recompense for the killing of Lugh's father Cian. Sound familiar? Areadbha[i]r originally belonged to Pisear, the king of Persia; it was a powerful and poisonous spear of yew that must keep its point submerged in a vat of water as to prevent it's heat from setting the king's court ablaze. When the sons of Tuireann were denied Areadbha[i]r in exchange for a half-baked poem from Brian, the three brothers slaughtered Pisear and all the men of his court. Appropriately, the name Areadbha[i]r is supposed to mean "Slaughterer". Ultimately, the the lance's name in Three Houses is likely tied to House Blaiddyd due one of the kings of Faerghus was named Loog, a corruption of Lug[h].
Atrocity is the combat art tied to Areadbhar. Both the English name and the original Japanese 無惨 (rōmaji: muzan) "cruel; merciless" is likely derived from the meaning of Areadbha[i]r and the brutality it is easily capable. Additionally, the Japanese name is also a word used in Buddhism meaning "to commit sin without shame," matching the disposition of Dimitri after the timeskip.
Lúin (JP: ルーン; rōmaji: rūn) is the fiery Hero's Relic tied to the Crest of Daphnel, passed down through the generations of House Daphnel and later House Galatea. In Irish mythology and folklore, Lúin of Celtchar is a long, fiery spear carried by Celtchar mac Uthechar, though it was occassionally lent to other warriors. Between the stories The Destruction of the Hostel of Da Derga and The Intoxication of the Ulstermen, a thorough description of the spear has been provided. Lúin is a massive lance, the shaft of the spear alone considered a task for a team of oxen to pull. It had a fiery speartip that would set the yew shaft and its wielder ablaze if not dunked in a large cauldron of black venom made from "the blood of dogs and cats and druids." Where have we seen that before? It is explained that the Lúin was found on the battlefields of Mag Tuired where the battle between the mythical Fomorians and the Tuatha Dé Danann took place. It was this battle in which Lugh made use of all the artifacts collected by the sons of Tuireann and swiftly defeated the Fomorians. With all the apparent similarities, it is all but confirmed that Lúin of Celtchar is one and the same as Areadbhar, which is one and the same as the Gae Assail. The name simply changed with the passage of time; Areadbha[i]r is the most recent name, only appearing in text written after the Christianization of Ireland.
The name of Lúin's combat art is also loosely derived from the weapon that inspired it. Burning Quake clearly alludes to the fire attributes of the lance, but where does the quake come from? In Japanese, Burning Quake is similarly called 震炎 (rōmaji:shinen), meaning "Shaking/Quaking Fire." The name likely is based on a behavior that occurs when the spear gets hot, in which it begins vibrating; note that in Japanese, the word for vibrate uses the same kanji 震 from Burning Quake. This is interpreted as a sign of approaching battle. Upon the wielder striking the aft-end of the spear three times during this state, the spearhead would burst with large sparks of flame, compared to the size of an egg or a "sack-measure" depending on the source. The name may also be intended to resemble the word 支燃性 (rōmaji:shinensei), meaning "combustibility" in relation to the lance's fiery properties.
This was a segment from a larger document reviewing the name of most every weapon and item in Three Houses and Three Hopes. Click Here to read it in full.

@astra-blade-13 I accidentally deleted your ask while trying to answer it, but I at least copied it
astra-blade-13 asked: Please tell me about your Scáthach headcanons, this guy deserves more love
I apologize for the delay, as I was on a trip and didn’t have time to answer it before. Thank you so much tho! I really wasn’t expecting anyone to even reach out and ask my opinion on Scáthach as I said that on a whim, but I really appreciate!
This post might be a bit long, and these are just purely headcanons on my part, so none of this is exactly canon as I am just trying to fill in the gaps (also this is me talking a bit about other characters that I have headcanons for)
Scáthach, I’m pretty sure, is the more tame of the Ayra twins, so majority of the time he’s trying to get Larcei out of trouble because of how impulsive she is
I know it’s canon that Iuchar and Iucharba are head-over-heels for Larcei, but to me, they’re both bi and are ALSO head-over-heels for Scáthach. Tho they’re both really difficult to flirty with, as Larcei would probably yell and fight them as a rejection, while Scáthach would either ignore them or try to be nice on a rejection
I made a post a while back about Scáthach having a crush on Oifey, and that was his gay awakening
I actually don’t have a headcanon for his sexuality (although I do lean a bit more on him being bisexual) and to me it feels right for him to be unlabeled. Tbh i don’t think he would care
Other side ships for me would be Lana and Julia, aka childhood friends to lovers/princess & bodyguard
He has relationship experience, and has dated Lana before and dated Julia for a while, and still treats them as close friends even after their breakups
He is a BIG Lana/Julia shipper, and once he realizes that they have mutual feelings, he makes it his personal mission to get them together
Larcei to me feels like she’s very expressive, and wears her emotions very clearly on her face. Scá, on the other hand, tries his best to hide them and doesn’t want anyone to know what he’s feeling, especially when he’s either feeling depressed or is showing emotions that he’s not used to. This occurred a lot as he was more and more active on the battlefield
He especially tries to hide his troubles thoughts from Larcei and Shannan, as he feels they have more pressing matters than him
Relationship wise, I like to think he’s very smooth, and actually knows how to properly flirt. It’s not anything dramatic or over-the-top, but his flirting is genuine and it’s only to those he’s close enough to want a relationship with
He’s definitely more comfortable around women, and he finds it easier to be friends with them
He knows how to use a bow (somewhat) from Lester since they grew up together, and he and Diarmuid frequently spar together. He also somehow managed to be their wingman since he was always in the middle of those two, and he’s happy to see that his efforts payed off.
He crochés. Idk why but to me it’s just something that he would do? It’s just a calming hobby of his and he likes giving his works to those close to him
He’s a romantic at heart, and a sucker for romance novels.
He’s just very calm and patient? Out of the Tirnanog gang, he’s the one that doesn’t panic much in a stressful situation. You would believe it would be either Seliph or Lana, but in reality, it’s him
He’s a very hard person to anger and rile up, and it takes a LOT to do so. Unless you threaten to hurt his friends, and that’s when you’re dead

✢⁎. INHERITED TRAITS.
A meta focused on the parts of Larcei that she shares with her parents, and those that are uniquely hers.
Tumblr media
Ayra:
Hair & eye color
Body type. Follows her streamlined and lithe muscle development
Isaachian culture
Facial structure. Is cited as being similarly beautiful to her mother
Weapons & items
Minor Odo holy blood
Keen eyesight & fast reflexes. In reference to Nihil, the ability to avoid critical hits--interpreted as hits to vitals
Astra. More specifically, the ability for descendants of Od to enter the super-speed "Astra State"
Speed. In reference to Pursuit. While not technically an inherited skill, both start in the myrmidon class, which happens to be a similarity
Defiance. Neither women are known to take shit lying down
Naoise:
Stubborn loyalty, especially to house Chalphy. Larcei was similarly born into a kind of "knighthood"
Protection of the weak. Like Naoise, Larcei wills to stand up for those who cannot stand for themselves
Combat style. In reference to Critical, Larcei will often aim for massive hits on enemy weak points, trying to fell someone bigger than her in a single strike
Relentlessness. In reference to Charge, Larcei continues fighting until her target is eradicated. Doesn't believe in training rounds or second chances--something that extends to a long-term mindset with regards to the Loptyr Sect
Strength. Based on str growths Larcei is closer to Naoise in her ability to hit things hard
Hair texture. Soft and thin, but plentiful strands lend to pronounced bangs and a full head of hair
Voice. Larcei has high tones and nasally speech in the same way Naoise does. The way they differentiate is only in tone and pronunciation
Both:
Sword skills
Dedication to cause & repaying debts
Protective lover. Like both her parents, Larcei makes it her mission to keep someone safe when they are special to her
Early bird. Used to have to get up at the crack of dawn to check if she and the others in Tirnanog have been found out
Bound by honor. All three follow a strict moral code in combat, even if Larcei expresses some of it via an open disdain for ranged attackers
Meat enjoyer
Neither:
Strong reaction to romance & flowers. Both stem from following a Iucharba recruitment route and unpaired ending, wherein she saw Iuchar mistake talking to his brother to mean he lost her affection, and got himself killed by charging straight for her army
Hatred of the Empire & magic. Larcei does not yet know the whole truth behind the Loptyr Sect, and even if she did, she would be too enraged by their treatment of innocent people to grant them any pardon. The experiences she witnessed and were nearly part of (thanks Shannan) in her childhood are entirely her own, and have shaped her somewhat-spiteful worldview
Short fuse. Refer to the above
Secret sweet tooth
Impulsiveness. Thinks things through considerably less than either of her parents
Low stamina. Partly due to her nature, partly due to being on the run and up at arms at an early age. Had to condense a lot of her training instead of learning how to last the long haul in combat
Alcohol tolerance. Is lightweight and gets doubled over by this sort of thing. Semi-related to her low stamina
Personal Astra form. While somewhat reminiscent of Ayra's, Larcei was taught by Shannan, and mimics his style while incorporating some aspects of her own. She has also learned to apply it in other creative ways in TOA canon
Height. No one knows where she got the short gene. Maybe Scathach stole a few inches
Country slang. Wasn't raised in House Isaach's court or a knightly order, and talks & acts more like a commoner. Most people (in universe, and ooc) don't even know she's technically a princess
Desperation. In reference to Adept, which she learns upon promotion. Biting back against oppression has taught her to fight every battle like it's her last

Burian/Brian the ugliest of Lex's three nephews, is often joked by the fandom to be only good one, both in a gameplay sense and a moral sense.
For clarification, Iucharba/Johalva and Iuchar/Johan are a Fighter and a Axe Knight respectively. Both serve their father and are madly in love with Larcei/Lakche or her replacement character, Craidne/Radney.
Seliph/Celice's army has the choice of either recruiting Johalva or Johan with Larcei and whichever one you didn't choose will get angry and charge at you/the brother you chose with his army.
Johalva/Iucharba has decent stats, but no move and is painted as a somewhat rude fella. Johan/Iuchar has good move, but meh stats, he is painted as a wannabe ladies man. Both are definitely going to be overshadowed by your units within the gameplay.
Burian, on the other hand, is in the overpowered Master Knight class meaning he can use all weapons, has great move, and has incredible stats. Burian also has the Neir/Nall crest meaning he can use Helswath, which increases his defense by 20 and his resistance by 10.
And finally Burian arrives to kill your army because Seliph's dad killed his grandpa and Seliph's army killed his father and the brother you did NOT recruit, so he wants to avenge them!
Hence the fan joke that Seliph should've recruited Burian!
ABSOLUTEY cringe move to make major life decisions like which side of a war your on based on a girl. Like dudes.
Brian sounds cool though I have to ask why he looks twice as old as the other two when there's no indication he was like. Around in the first generation

Lebor Gabála Érenn
I swear I'm stopping soon! But just when I think I'm done with Ireland, another of these tales pop-up on my radar.
Here are some miscellanea of incest couples that appear in the book Lebor Gabála Érenn ('The Book of the Taking of Ireland'). These names come up in lists of geneology and there's little story for the characters, it's basically 'A is daughter of B and had C with her own father', so it means it's a clean slate for us to imagine whatever dynamic we want between these characters.
I'm using the R. A. Stewart Macalister translation.
Book IV
Delbaeth (also known as Tuireann), King of Tuatha Dé Danann (the gods or fae folk) is the father of Danand (or Mórrígan, 'great queen'), with whom he fathered three children: Brian, Iuchar, and Iucharba, who "were the three gods of Danu, from whom is named the Mountain of the Three Gods" (p. 103);
Fiacha, son (and successor to the throne) of Delbaeth and Ernmas and Danand's brother, had three daughter with his own mother, Ernmas: Banba, Fotla, and Eriu (p. 131);
Basically Delbeath and Ernmas have a bunch of children, then Delbaeth hooks up with his daughter and has triplets with her, while Ernmas hooks up with her own and has triplets. Lots of triplets in this family. And these triplets are basically all important gods, with Eriu herself being almost a personification of the whole Ireland (which was called Ériu at the time).
Book V
Érimón, King of the Milesians (other group of invaders, more human than the Tuatha Dé Danann), married his own mother, Scota, after the death of his father. The unexpected bit is that Scota is said to be the daughter of the Egyptian Pharaoh. Actually, I think that there's no mention of her being mother to Érimón, only that she was married to his father (p. 75);
Anyway, Érimón might not have married his mom, but he certainly married his sister, Odba, with whom he had three children: Maimne, Luigne, and Laigne (again with the triplets!). However, Érimón is a huge dick and abandoned Odba in Spain for a new wife in Ireland, Tea (p. 41);
Meanwhile, Donn, Érimón's brother, was married to their other sister, Díl. They both drowned in their trip to Ireland (p. 57);
So what de we learn from the Lebor Gabála Érenn? If you commit incest, you will end up having triplets who will either de Irish gods or Irish High Kings.
The story of Book IV would make such a funny sitcom. Specially if Delbeath and Ernmas don't know the other is also in love with one of their children, so they are both going behind each other's back and cheating, meanwhile Danand and Fiacha are just chilling and talking to each other how much they are in love with their parents.

bro they are spoiling me. first plumie, then resplendant ursula, then frickin arion?! like dude. dude.
-this banner is ok. like i knew id be rollin bc i love plumie, so i was hoping for something i liked (i was really thinking tms would be awesome but unlikely, but tbh this exceeded my expectations lol. the other thing was thracia w my oshis. i was just like not 15 not 15 bc its boring and i dont like lol), but oh my gosh i was not expecting geneaology gen2 at all. honestly its not bad. ced canonically is in 4 and 5 so its cool its a tribute to his 5 look, and im glad his sister was added. the brigid kids are nice, good for them too! mareetas siblings! but oh my gosh i was the most hype for arion. actually freaking tf out. like "wtf i thought its adult gen why is arion here?!?!" the first of the maeve friends to be added! i am patiently waiting for ascended larcei + iuchar and iucharbra as 3/4/ghb characters
-i just hope njorthur eventually is fightable (and playable) in the game tbh. tbh i think b7 story isnt too bad so far, but the fan reaction is very cringe. but thats understandable bc the main part 1 villain is a literal tha nos meme that beat a fan favorite "ow the edge" character in the popularity contest so ofc ppl are weird abt it
-in the banner im just hoping for plumie, and the brigid kids and the pegasus knight (im totally forgetting her name im sorry) would be great too.
-itd be kinda cute if theyre having 4 first so 5's can be linoan + deen and edda, and maybe misha too to complete the pegasus squad (i still like my idea w ghb ilios tho tbh. i want my oshis too)
-anyways prayer circle for nothing weird in arions lines. i really like his character (big hc but i hc him as being ace and not interested in romance in the conventional way/at all) so im hoping they dont screw him over. they did hardin not dirty so i can hope
anyways im not out of the woods yet lol bc theres still the 5 banner and the 7 one (i am going feral for renault pls give me my guy) and tbh id even be hype to roll if 15 had sonyas sisters
