[ Character Impressions 6 (Gen 2) - moar siblings]

- Julia sleepy, Lana sheepy 🐑 they would be the first to fall asleep at a slumber party 😴

- a bit lacklester… 😅 love the hairstyle, we’ll work on personality, and character…

- my Diarmud was… decent. He doesn’t really get to shine as a unit or as a character amidst the other mounted sword wielders.

- love Lachesis -> love Nanna 💘 the bob haircut, the feather accent… SO CUTE!!! 🥰 I wish she promoted to master knight tho (such a cool class)

- I like the way Patty talks and her energy (reminds me of Dew), but some of the things she says are like, “Whoa, gurl. Too far. Back it up or pack it up.” 🙅‍♀️

- ngl, I was a bit disappointed when I saw Febail for the first time, as Brigid’s son I was expecting… I dunno, blinding beauty. I guess Patty doesn’t have her elegant look either.

- I LOVE THE ISAACH TWINS!!!!! 😍

When you meet them for the first time, I thought Scáthach was the calm, reasonable, more timid (possibly nerdy) twin, and Larcei the feral twin. But then it’s revealed that Scáthach is also a spicy boi, itching to fight, but he’s holding back because of Oifey’s orders. 🥺😩💕

First impression: Ah seems like Katherine is always gonna be building in pink, thats her brand even in the new season. Wait her character has a backstory?!?!?

Favorite moment: The first animated magical girl transformation WAS SICK

Idea for a story: I want a fic where her parents find her. Like The Drama!

Unpopular opinion: not actually the hugest fan of Joey/Katherine IN CANON (in fics its quite good) cause she seems pretty uncomfortable and that makes me uncomfortable. Is that a hot take?

Favorite relationship: NATURE WIVES! Also Nether Star alliance (Shelby, Sausage, fwhip and Katherine)

Favorite headcanon: I like the ones where she's slowly turning more and more monsterous/skeletal.

I'm re-reading the Discworld series for reasons, and honestly the most relatable part of reading these as an adult is how many of the protagonists start out being tired, used to their little routine and vaguely disgruntled by the interruption of the Plot. Sam Vimes wants to lie drunk in a gutter and absolutely doesn't want to be arresting dragons. Rincewind is yanked into every situation he's ever encountered, though he'd much rather be lying in a gutter too. (Minus the alcohol. Plus regretting everything he's ever done said witnessed or even heard about fourth-hand in his whole life.) Granny Weatherwax is deeply suspicious of foreign parts and that includes the next town over; Nanny has leaned into the armor of "nothing ever happens to jolly grannies who terrorize their daughters-in-law and make Saucy Jokes"

Only the young people don't seem to have picked up on this---and that's fortunate, because someone has to run around making things happen, if only so Vimes and Granny and Rincewind have a reason to get up (complaining bitterly the whole time) and put it all to rights. Without Carrot, Margrat, Eric, etc. these characters don't have that reason; they're likely to stay in the metaphorical gutter and keep wondering where it all went wrong or why anything has to change.

............well, that's not quite true. You get the sense that Vetinari knows how much certain people hate the Plot. And as the person sitting behind the metaphorical lighting board of Ankh-Morpork, he takes no small pleasure in forcing the Plot-haters specifically to stand up, and say some lines.
