#t*rfs can be so willingly obtuse how is it possible to be so stupid#this take was framed in a serious way w tons of reposts but essentially said#if ppl claim gender n sex are different and tht ppl are discriminated against bc of their gender and not their sex but also claim that#gender can be chosen…. then they’re implying women’s suffering is self inflicted 🤔🤯🤬#it’s like.#as is often w t*rf propaganda: nobody is saying this.#and they don’t see how this line of thinking is something they’ve misinterpreted and formed for themselves#they just feel threatened about a reality that isn’t the case#this is what happens when you live in an echo chamber and scream lalalala when anyone without a transphobic agenda is talking about gender#this is what happens when you invent and assume what trans positive(or even neutral) leftists and academics have been delineating in the#decades long discussion of sex v gender Already#because of course they’re not going to read all that and engage in the discursive process#on a more petty note this is what happens when you don’t read books nor have friends#like this isn’t set in their ways conservative jk r*wling stans this is 16-22 year olds beginning their journey into political thought#depressing lol!#saw this under ppl getting mad about the talks of a Carrie reboot with hunter sch*fer as the leas#lead*#which i’ll admit is lab designed to make t*rfs mad lmao#but in their fury it got them saying shit like there’s underrepresentation of cis women in media#inane

regarding to your post of hogwarts legacy JK R*wling is not even involved making the game only the IP. If anyone is buying the game you are only supporting the AVALANCHE team and it’s crew that’s it. No money what’s so ever is going to JKR. I just don’t get it why people boycotting the game “if you buy it you’re supporting JKR and not an ally!” THAT’S BS now all of a sudden if you want to buy the game you’ve been waiting for years people are trying to make you feel bad about it? That’s stupid
I don’t care if she’s involved or not.
She’s still making money off the IP and as long as Harry Potter stays relevant with shit like this, she will continue to make money. She gets a cut of the money Avalanche makes because they have to pay her royalties to use her IP. She gets a set percentage of their sales because they’re using her IP so don’t tell me she’s not making any money.
And the backlash against Hogwarts Legacy is not a recent thing. This has been boiling since at the very least 2019, and people have been boycotting this game far longer than the past few months.
This is my blog and I’m not going to waste my time explaining AGAIN why I—a non-binary person—am not interested in interacting with a game that supports an IP a transphobe and antisemite made, even if it was important to me in childhood.
Death of the author doesn’t apply until the author is six feet underground and burning in the fires of hell and even then it’s a case by case basis.

I really apologize to anyone and everyone following me for posting so much Doctor Who stuff, just old special interest reawakened.
Anyway, in my series rewatch I'm on The Shakespeare Code, and a couple things immediately stuck out to me was a lines referring to drag in Shakespeare's plays:
Martha: "and those are men dressed as women, yeah?
The Doctor: "London never changes"
Those are interesting inclusions considering that the writer for this episode, Gareth Roberts, is a raging Transphobe. Written whole medium articles and tweet storms calling us predators who are after kids and saying he doesn't believe in our existence (and also lamented that Queer is in the acronym now, so why can't he call us trannies!)
And this is a gay cis man who was involved with the community, so he can't pretend that this is some new concept to him like so many transphobes, he's had plenty of time to formulate and hunker down in these opinions, odds are he's had them for decades.
Also interesting that the climactic moment has a reference to JK R*wling. Makes you wonder, since they're both so big on hating trans people, if this hadn't been going on for a while with Joanne...
Anyway, I think I'm glad I'm done with that one, it hasn't aged well.

JK Rowling is right about everything and I love that everyone except troons and other gender specials support her ♥️
You're so obviously a young woman who unfortunately suffer from being chronically online. Go outside and get some fresh air and step away from your computer. You are not male, you never will be. Nothing you do can ever change that. And I hope you know that the only ones who play along with your little fantasy are other gender specials and those who want to avoid the famous troon meltdowns. No one actually believes that you're male 😂 You're just an embarrasment to your family and I know they can't wait for you to grow up and grow out of your "hurr durr I am a boy 🤪🤪" phase.
okay so initially i wasn't going to answer this ask and i think you were the other terf anon that sent me the new book ask, but i caved in, because you (and the other one, if that person wasn't you) are just plain fucking stupid. your takes (when you have them, that is) are shit. moreover, the only thing you can say to defend that woman is going around and misgendering people 😭 what a loser move
first off, i wanted to ask you: do you follow me? are you this interested in my content? because this might just be the second time you're sending me this kind of asks, and i think i've clearly stated in my pinned post that i do not want any terfs and jkr supporters following me, so, kindly, piss off
second of all, i wanted to say that people on the genderqueer spectrum are not the only people that hate her, because they are not the only group of people that r*wling has said something against.
other kinds of queer people hate her, autistic people hate her, poc people hate her, jewish people hate her, disabled people hate her, and so on. she has actively fought against some of the aforementioned communities (indeed, the best-known being trans people, and she's had some real problems with trans women), gave into stereotypes and put said communities in a bad light. (for example, read more on the aids metaphor for lychantropy.)
gender diverse people have been targeted by jkr continuously. she has funded multiple anti-trans bills in the uk, and her twitter is a hellfire, to say the least. she's notoriously followed transphobes and, when one of the writers she liked reposted a tweet that she had tweeted about him with "trans women and women" she unfollowed and blocked him
this idol of yours has also used the robert galbraith pseudo. robert galbraith heath has been a huge fan of conversation therapy in the 70s, which is, to say the least... yeah.
also, by the way you referred to me as a "young woman", i assume that you are an adult woman / an adult man. imagine taking your precious time in which you could do something productive, like working or taking a bath or reading a book or something, to squabble with a teenager on the internet
and the fact that you're hiding behind clicking the anonymous on button shows what kind of person you are.

Okay I have a question about JK R*wling and oppressed voices and it makes me uncomfy and… I’m just gonna go on anon. Hope that’s okay.
So, I worked in a bookstore. So of course we sold HP stuff, it was B&N. Can’t get around that, I just never advertised it unless asked specifically about it because it was my job.
But then a new coworker was hired. I’ll call them V. V was non-binary and very, VERY active in the LGBT community and friendly. I really liked them and we seemed to have great convos. I considered them a friend.
But then the topic of HP came up and I mentioned how I don’t advertise HP any more than I absolutely have to for my job because of all the problematic elements within in and because of R*wling herself being very transphobic and just a terrible person. And V… went OFF.
V said I was white knighting for the trans and Jewish community (that I am not a part of) and that I should let them speak for themselves. And let people make their own choices, good or bad. They said that they still loved HP, even though they were non-binary, and that was their choice and that didn’t make them transphobic because they were under the gender queer umbrella.
V said that, when it comes to sensitive topics like these, I should keep my mouth shut. Because, since I am not a part of the oppressed communities, I am taking away their voice, in this case theirs. They said it was fine if I didn’t want to advertise HP, but I shouldn’t “trash it” to them (I don’t feel like I was) when they should be able to speak first.
And I guess I’m just asking for advice for situations like this? I don’t talk to V anymore, I’ve since quit that job, but it really stuck out to me. Because I felt really wrong-footed. And I get that I don’t want to speak over the people that are oppressed, but I didn’t feel like that’s what I was doing in that situation?
I guess… how do I stand up for people that are being hurt by others without taking their voice? How do I use my voice to uplift others and not speak over them? And how do I recognize when I’m talking over someone myself? Because I while I didn’t feel like I was doing that to V, V obviously felt like I was. And I’m just… I’m really confused tbh.
Any help would be appreciated…
You did nothing wrong.
Your former coworker, on the other hand, sounds like a boot licker grasping for excuses to justify not giving up their support for a shitty person, and weaponizing their queerness to evade accountability for shitty behaviors.
In my opinion, anybody who says anybody should keep their mouth shut when it comes to issues related to white supremacy, racism, bigotry, etc., is potentially dangerous. If they will try to silence you, then for damn sure they won't think twice about trying to silence us. Because silence is complicity. Silence is what makes the white supremacists' work all the more easy. Silence is the first tool that oppressors use to maintain power and continue oppression. Silence takes away our allies, because a silent ally is no ally.

Something I think should be talked about more is how Harry and Ron's friendship is set up through their reactions to spiders.
Harry doesn't care about spiders, and it's implied in the first book when talking about the cupboard that he almost cares about them. I mean, they annoy him but he's also not going full on exterminator. He's at least indifferent, acclimatised after 10 years of forced contact.
Ron however, is absolutely terrified of spiders, and it's a key part of his characterisation. His fear of spiders is extremely prominent throughout all the books and movies, with hagrids giant spiders, the bogart, and other random moments. Hell, the bogart even means it's his worst fear, at least up to the 3rd book.
This is a complete opposite to Harry, and I think it shows how something that is a simple everyday part of life for one person is an absolutely terrifying experience for someone else. This is a re-occuring thing in their friendship, with Harry being at least used to his orphan life, and Ron's fear of losing his large family (that one Deathly Hallows line). (There are other examples but this post is long enough).
Their friendship is a standing example of how opposites attract, and how friends can help each other to overcome struggles. How your weakness is someone else's strength.
Disclaimer: i do NOT support jk r*wling or her disgusting transphobic views

my parents literally won't listen to what i'm saying about jk r*wling and they keep on debating with me when i'm literally not the best at explaining this and it makes me so mad because they care more about some stupid game than actual people who are being harmed by her and my dad even says he's transphobic like will they not even try and learn and research on it on their own like i'm literally crying typing this in the bathroom because this is so frustrating

Okay yes jk r*wling is transphobic but can you not make fun of fandom adults please :o) many of these "Harry Potter adults" are neurodivergent and these books have been their special interests for a while so it's been rly hard for us to give them up. Having problematic special interests are hard so don't just belittle us

tw :: mentions of transphobia, antisemitism, jk rowling/harry potter/hogwarts legacy
adding onto the whole h/p thing; you cannot say “oh but i wanna support the devs” when 1) the devs were already paid before the game was released and 2) they CHOSE to create an antisemitic game that’s ultimately owned by a transphobe. even if r*wling herself took no actual part in creating the game itself, it still her content and, correct me if i’m wrong but, she still gets money and attention for it. and she 100%, actively uses her money for harm. so yeah anyone supporting her or the newest game sucks and i don’t want you following or interacting with me :)

Okay I'm going to be the asshole here but I just saw like 10 post saying that if you still like Harry Potter and play Hogward legacy you are transphobic and I can't stay quiet
Of course, what JK R*wling has done/ said is unjustifiable and I totally understand that you can't read or watch the movie anymore. I did for a long time, I couldn't read or watch the movie because of what JK R*wling said.
But honestly, I never seen a true fan defending her (of course there are, but like it's a minority). Most of them just want to continue loving this saga, because it means so much to them.
And second thing, I don't know if you realise that, but most of the money that the sales of the game generate won't go to JK pocket but to the corporation such as Nintendo. I'm not saying that you do not supporting her in a sense, that's up to your conscience or your way to see things, but she was already payed for the game before it was released. And believe me, even if the game is a failure, they already have enough money to deal with it, they don't care.
But anyway, I understand that you want to people to boycott the game, even though death threats to the people that just want to play is not normal. But saying that we should stop loving Harry Potter because JK Rowling is an asshole?
I don't think you understand how much Harry Potter meant to some people.
Personally it was the saga that made love reading, when I was in eight grade, if I did not have Harry Potter and Percy Jackson I would probably don't be here. Even though now I realise all the problematic shit in those book (I don't think I need to develop) it will always be the saga that made me fall in love with books
So no, you can't ask to someone to stop loving a universe because the person that created it is a monster. And there are some trans fan that are still part of the fandom, even after everything
And even worse, by asking for boycott you are kind of promoting the game. (I know I'm doing it to and I feel bad for that, but I needed to talk about it). Which is the only thing we can do that is effective if we want JK to have less success.
However, if you still support JK Rowling and ignore what she said and done, yes, you are transphobic.
Sorry this post is long, I know people are going to hate me for this and honestly I don't care. Nobody is probably going to see this anyway
