Saturn reminds me so much of Hunger. Both fics have sad endings. Saturn HJ and Hunger HJ are both artistic - one is a photographer and the other one is a painter. Saturn HJ and Hunger HJ can't love MC at "that" time. Saturn MC found a guy that makes her happy and Hunger MC ended up with Seungmin.

I don't like sad endings. Surprisingly, I was satisfied with Hunger's ending. Let's just say I was kinda pissed with HJ lol So I highly supported MC leaving him; however, Saturn really hurt me even though I already saw it coming. The old man said that MC needs to leave something behind for her to move on plus the diamond ring… But there was still hope in my heart that maybe, just maybe, MC will break the engagement.. well, until read the train station part 😭 But I'm happy MC finally had closure 😢 Even if it's kinda sad that HJ decided to sell painting, i think it's only right so that he could move forward too. By the way, what's the meaning behind "Saturn"?

I knew that this fic will remind people of Hunger bcs they're both share the "right person wrong time" trope and sad endings. The difference is that Hunger Hyunjin is frivolous, he doesn't know what he wants that's why he can't love MC whereas Saturn Hyunjin knows what he wants and what he wants is not love, also he holds his pride above everything.

And yes, it's only right that he sells the painting. There are few crumbs I left on my previous fic about this painting and it'll link to my upcoming fic. Can't tell it to you now or it'll ruin the surprise 🙈

Next, about the title, Saturn. I have several reasons so I hope you are comfortably seated.

Firstly, I originally wanted to title it The World as in the tarot card but that's too broad, too general.

Why I chose The World of all the tarot cards in the first place? Because it "represents an ending to a cycle of life, a pause in life before the next big cycle beginning with The Fool. It is an indicator of a major and inexorable change, of tectonic breadth" or that's what the Google says. It's basically the main theme of the fic, that MC seeks closure so she can begin the next cycle of her life. I've done my research on tarot cards and the ruling planet of The World is Saturn.

The other reason is because they took painting class every Saturday afternoon. Fyi, the word Saturday originates from the latin word Dies Saturni which means Saturn's day.

In Greek mythology, Saturn described as a God of time, periodic renewal and liberation. Again, fits the theme.

One last thing. I've been associating Hyunjin with flowers and fruits before. This time, I associate him with planets. I have a Hyunjin fic titled Venus before and I have unfinished one called Pluto, I'm developing an idea for a fic called Neptune.

And maybe I'll write a Hyunjin fic for every planet in our solar system. Who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️
