Roman Reigns Request: His Warrior Queen

A/N: this is an overdue request for @queengreenarrowmia89. i apologize for the wait as i’ve had to deal with uni and a big writer’s block. the bloodline story has been phenomenal so far and now that the Usos have left - it’s getting even juicier. the MITB match was awesome especially with Jey pinning Roman, ending his ‘invincible streak’. god, this storyline deserves an Emmy, Oscar and all other TV awards cause it’s absolutely amazing. maybe we’ll finally get a Jey vs Roman rematch for his new title at Summerslam? i would love to see that. this imagine may be shorter than usual and for that i apologize.

i apologize if its shit, i tried my best. anyway, enjoy the story :)

pov: the story of Roman Reigns and his warrior queen, Jo Wilson

Roman Reigns and his wife, Jo Wilson were considered a power couple in WWE amongst fans, staff and fellow wrestlers. Some dreamed of having a love like theirs, you could call it a ‘fairytale romance’ but those who knew the couple well knew it was nothing like that.

It wasn’t easy with their equally busy schedules. They could be apart for months on end and only be able to speak with each other once or twice a week if that. But, they made it work. They fought hard for this relationship and made many sacrifices which helped create their unbreakable bond.

But how did the two lovebirds meet? I’ll tell ya.

Before Jo, Roman was with Galina Becker and had Joelle together. A year after Joelle was born, they decided to go their separate ways but remained on good terms and co-parented, raising Joelle together. It was an amicable split, their busy schedules meant they couldn’t be together often and ended up growing distant.

It was a few months following his split from Galina that Roman met Jo Wilson. A friend of Jo had an extra ticket to RAW and asked if she wanted to come. Jo, having nothing better to do, agreed.

Jo knew nothing about wrestling, she was going into this blind. I mean, she did a quick Google search but it barely told her anything - so she was relying on her friend to ‘educate’ her about one of their favourite things ever.

When Jo first saw Roman, she was entraced by him. His menancing aura, the power it radiated. He was making his entrance, standing at the top of the stairs flanked by his two team-mates. Jo couldn’t take her eyes off him, everything about him captivated her.

Everything about him just screamed power and dominance. He walked around like he owned this place, his tall statue was enough to make people tremble. Jo proceeded to ask her friend about him, she wanted to know more about this Samoan man.

“That’s Roman Reigns. He’s part of the Shield with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. His nickname is the Big Dog for very obvious reasons.” Jo’s friend explained. Jo’s eyes remained fixated on Roman for the whole match, he never left her sight - she was hypnotised by him.

The power and dominance he exuded mixed with the cheeky smirks made Jo’s heart go doki doki. They briefly made eye contact, Roman grinned at her and she swore that her face had never turned on red in her life.

He looked like a god in her eyes - the way his long black hair stuck to his body because of his sweat made him look all the hotter. The way Roman loomed over his opponent made Jo’s thoughts turn south but she reigned herself back in. Roman won his match and glanced at Jo, he winked at her making her face redder and her heart beat even louder.

“Well... did you enjoy it?” Jo’s friend asked once RAW had finished. She nodded, still in a daze, “I saw you oogling at Roman. You like him, don’t you?” her friend teased making Jo smack their shoulder in embarassment which made her friend laugh.

Before exiting the arena, a staff member stopped them and handed Jo a piece of paper claiming someone backstage wanted to give it to them. She opened it to reveal a phone number from Roman Reigns, it took everything in Jo and her friend to not scream.

“You’ve gotta text him!” her friend urged and after relentless pestering, she did.

‘Hi, you gave me your number. I don’t know if you remember me or not but I thought I’d say that you were so cool tonight.’

Jo wasn’t expecting an instant reply since he’s a busy man, she wasn’t expecting a reply at all. She only did it so her friend stopped bugging her. To her utter surprise, Roman did reply a couple hours later:

‘Hi, I remember you. You wouldn’t stop staring at me during my match and I thought you looked rather cute. What’s your name?’

Squealing, she hugged her pillow hard and kicked her feet in the air. Jo didn’t know if it was out of embarrassment or excitement - maybe it was a bit of both. Embarrassed that he knew she stared at him the entire time, she must’ve looked dumb but excited that he remembered her and called her CUTE!

Responding, they found themselves messaging each other whenever they were free. Jo was a gynecologist, someone who specialized in female reproductive health and loved her work.

It wasn’t until months later that Roman and Jo coincidentally met again... at the hospital. Roman was there to get checked up after getting hurt in a match. Jo had just finished her shift and recognized Roman, who was waiting to be seen.

Mustering up enough confidence, she approached him and they began talking. They could both sense an undeniable chemistry and attraction between them, it felt like they’ve known each other for years when it’s only been a few months. Jo ended up waiting for Roman and chatted more over Waffle House.

After months of pinning, Roman officially asked Jo out and she said yes. She met his family and they immediately accepted her. She even met Galina when Galina dropped Joelle off, they became quick friends and she bonded well with Joelle.

Like every relationship, it had its ups and downs - times where they were near breakup but powered through. Jo had visited Roman at work a few times when she had free time and WWE was in Florida, she befriend a few people including Seth and Dean.

Years of dating, Roman finally proposed to Jo in an intimate moment and during this time, Jo was pregnant with their first children. They got married in a gorgeous, private ceremony in Samoa with all their friends and family present. The friend who took Jo to that RAW was her maid of honour, she proudly declared that she was the reason Jo and Roman met during her speech.

Jo gave birth a few months after the honeymoon. She gave birth to a beautiful girl named Luna. Roman was over the moon and Joelle had quickly adapted to her new role as the eldest sibling. Jo watched the two fondly, her life literally couldn’t be more perfect.

Fast forward to now, Roman and Jo were the proud parents of 6: Joelle, Luna, twin boys named Christian Roman and Seth, another set of twin boys; Jimmy and Jey, after Roman’s cousins. Jo was also expecting twin girls and they had already decided on the names: Madison Meredith and Patricia Lexi.

With her due date fast approaching, Roman had been taking time off WWE to care for his pregnant wife and look after his children with help from their eldest children. Jo still worked as a gynecologist despite Roman earning more than enough to support the family, she loved her career and Roman would never ask her to give up something she was passionate about.

Jo watched WWE from time to time. In all honesty, she wasn’t the biggest fan of his current gimmick - the Tribal Chief and would sometimes scold him for attacking wrestlers, especially her favourite ones. Wrestling wasn’t her thing but she always supported her husband, being his number one cheerleader and sending him good luck texts before matches.

Roman considered it his good luck charm, without her encouraging text he would’ve lost the title a long time ago. He was lucky for many reasons but in his opinion, the luckiest thing he ever had was his amazing family.

Roman didn’t enjoy being away from his family for so long and plans to take an extended hiatus once his twin girls were born. Sure, he enjoyed his career and wrestling in front of thousands of fans and travelling all over the world to wrestle. But nothing beats being with his family, he’d pick his family over his career any day of the week without hesitation.

Roman had his wife to thank for this life, someone he proudly dubbed his warrior queen and his eyes - the true Tribal Chief of the family.

“Hailey’s On It!,” an original animated comedy-adventure series from Disney Branded Television & Disney Television Animation, will premiere Thursday, June 8 (8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT), on Disney Channel, Disney XD and next day on Disney+.

From creators and executive producers Devin Bunje and Nick Stanton (”Phineas And Ferb”,”Shorty McShort Shorts: Mascot Prep”), the series, set in Oceanside, California, follows Hailey as she is pushed outside her comfort zone to discover the greatness that lies within. Whether she’s tackling every ride at the county fair, performing in a musical, reuniting a singing duo, or facing her ever-growing and complicated feelings toward her best friend Scott, Hailey is always encountering new challenges ― and more opportunities to conquer her fears.

With her Mamie Eisenhower bangs and heart-shaped face, Rooney Mara in Carol becomes the reincarnation of such '50s icons as Audrey Hepburn, Jean Simmons, and Maggie McNamara -- particularly the McNamara of The Moon Is Blue (Otto Preminger, 1953), that once-scandalous play and movie about a young woman who defies convention by talking openly about sex while retaining her virginity. It's just coincidence that Carol is set at the end of 1952 and into 1953, the year of the release of The Moon Is Blue, but the juxtaposition of McNamara's Patty O'Neill and Mara's Therese Belivet seems to me appropriate because the 1950s have become such a touchstone for examining our attitudes toward sex. Director Todd Haynes and screenwriter Phyllis Nagy, adapting a novel by Patricia Highsmith, have done an exemplary job in Carol of not tilting the emphasis toward Grease-style caricature or Mad Men-style satire of the era, or exploiting the same-sex relationship in the film for sensationalism or statement-making. Carol is a story about people in relationships, clear-sightedly viewed in a way that Therese herself would endorse. After asking her boyfriend Richard (Jake Lacy) if he's ever been in love with a boy and receiving a shocked reply that he's only "heard of people like that," Therese replies, "I don't mean people like that. I just mean two people who fall in love with each other." It's this matter-of-factness that the film tries to maintain throughout its story of Therese and Carol (Cate Blanchett), the well-to-do wife in a failing marriage. That the film is set in the 1950s, when cracks were showing in the conventional attitudes toward both marriage and homosexuality, gives piquancy to their relationship, but it doesn't limit it. The story could be (and probably is) playing itself out today in various combinations of sexual identity. The film works in large part because of the steadiness of Haynes at the helm, with two extraordinary actresses at the center and beautiful support from Sarah Paulson as Abby, Carol's ex-lover, and Kyle Chandler (one of those largely unsung actors like the late Bill Paxton who make almost everything they appear in better) as Carol's husband, the hard-edged Harge Aird. The sonic texture of the 1950s is splendidly provided by Carter Burwell's score and a selection of classic popular music by artists like Woody Herman, Georgia Gibbs, Les Paul and Mary Ford, Perry Como, Eddie Fisher, Patti Page, Jo Stafford, and Billie Holiday.

Happy STS! What’s your process for naming characters? How important is meaning or uniqueness or how it sounds? Do character concepts come with names attached when you first think of them, or do you struggle?

Oooof normally I only have an idea about how many syllables I want for the name (most of my characters only get one or two syllables, idk what that says about me) and if it needs to sound sharp, soft, calm, quick, etc.

If you're really interested, have a look under the cut, where I'm actually retracing some of the steps I took for the MCs of my WIPs:

Khorin (Dawn): The first idea I got for Khorin was "needs to start with a K sound". I ended up with Cory as a sort of temporary name, decided to switch the spelling to Kori, which was then replaced with Khorin. Her full name Khorin'do Tem Eira ("Fell into the glowing leaf bush") came to me a lot later when I actually found the time to work on Dawn's conlangs - which is something for another post (help).

Park (Park): From the beginning it was clear that the protagonist of Park needed a name suitable for both German and English readers which also needed to be easily identifiable as non binary. I first went with several names such as Alex and Jo until one of my friends suggested Park, because the story uses a certain park the MC used to spend their late teenage years for its symbolic meaning. In draft 1 Park also makes a joke about it being both their first and last name, though I'm still not sure about their actual surname and whether they even need one.

Sara Becker (Fears of an Unborn Planet and Fleur): With the band Oceansize pretty much inspiring the entire plot of Fleur (which is some sort of sequel to Park) and Fears of an Unborn Planet includes one of Fleur's scenes, here's the reveal: The name Sarah and whatever happened to her is mentioned in this particular track:

Yeah, I am talking about the part that says "Sarah's killer" and all the gibberish after that. Also, Becker is just a really common German surname. So yeah. Just a normal gal, eh?

Jurgen Klopp

Practically lives in his office at Kirkby

Almost never goes home to his own house

He's pretty clumsy (the staircase is the bane of his existence).

Pep Lijnders is his partner in crime when orchestrating chaos.

He never lets the boys know if something's bothering him.

Gets lonely pretty easily, thus why he remains in Kirkby

During lockdown 2020, he isolated himself in his house for weeks and his mental health went on a slippery slope. Lijnders had to persuade him to come out, after which he and the others decided to reside in the training grounds as much as they could in case of another lockdown.

Can keep any secret except his own

Ludger isn't his first pet--he's had multiple owls before, but they all died of natural causes

He hates saying any idiom or phrase related to death or dying

Always tells old anecdotes to his players

Has a tin-foil hat, but doesn't wear it often

His players just call him "boss"

Lijnders and the other staff call him Jurgen or Jurg.

His mom (RIP) called him Gen sometimes

Lijnders tried calling him that, but Klopp didn't like it at all and explained why

Alisson Becker

Still sleeps with a stuffed animal

Can't go three hours without hugging somebody or something

Most of his sweaters are either stolen from his teammates or Klopp

Absolute softie

Will scoop up a baby/small child within seconds of seeing them

He was embarrassed by the lilac kit at first, but grew to love it after much encouragement from the other guys

Sentimental to a fault and is afraid of hurting others with his huge size

He will kick butt if necessary, but it has to be a really bad situation for him to do so

Easily driven to tears and will often cling onto something or someone just for emotional support purposes

Doesn't really like post-match interviews but he'll do them

Brought Nemo (that macaw) to Kirkby once, but it bothered Ludger so he let him go back to Brazil

Everybody just calls him Ali

Klopp calls him "teddy bear" sometimes

Virgil van Dijk

He is actually "calm as you like" and will almost never kick butt unless you get him really mad

Doesn't like hugging anybody except for Joel, Ali, Robbo, Trentski and Klopp

Mainly wears darker colors and neutrals, wouldn't be caught dead in any pastel

Never undoes his man-bun

He'll eat anything caramel-flavored, but hides it

Is obsessed with Joel and will often drive him nuts while still managing to look chill

Is the best driver of the defenders

Will scare people off just by walking by

Is good friends with Bobby and speaks Dutch with him

Bobby was the first one he opened up to after P*ckf*rd injured him and he entered a wave of depression

Ali is his best friend

Doesn't mind when Ali steals his sweaters

Sometimes flirts with Ali, but only jokingly

Jokingly flirts with Matip too, but doesn't really show any other hints

Actually, he joke-flirts with most of his teammates

Is a "dynamic duo" with Pep Lijnders

Joel Matip

Loves exploring and is definitely an outdoors person

Has his own song, but is always interrupted or distracted while he's singing it and never finishes it in one go

When Ozan Kabak was at the club, he introduced halva to Joel. It's been Joel's favorite treat ever since

Doesn't really mind Virg's teasing and prodding, just acts cool so nobody tries to ship him and Virgil

He walked in on Mo Salah once and commented on his abs. Dejan nearly killed him

Has a tin-foil hat and totally believes in aliens

Doesn't really have a nickname but Virg calls him "Jo"

Kostas Tsimikas

Vibes to his own song from the fans

Once made a bet with Ibou that he couldn't create a rap song after the "Call Yourself A Teammate" video

Is a music geek and a DJ king

Liked Darwin from the start and learned some Spanish just to talk with him

Flirts with Darwin, usually jokingly

He tried to kiss Darwin once and Darwin didn't mind, but it was cut off when Klopp accidentally walked in on them

Copied Darwin's manbun just to impress him

Made a Manbun Club with him, Virg and Darwin in it

He's the leader and the others came along for the ride

Darwin calls him "Tino" but Darwin is the only one who can call him that

The others just call him Kostas or Kos

Andy Robertson

Lives on oatmeal cookies and Irn Bru

Loves his sweets but generally sticks to his diet

Often forgets to put on sunscreen and gets sunburns

Calls everybody "mate"

Is practically attached at the hip to Trent

Calls Calvin his "wee Scotsman brother" and takes him everywhere with him

Has a book of theories about his team; most of them are actually right

Is good friends with Milly but drives him nuts most of the time

Everyone calls him Andy or Robbo

Trent calls him Drew sometimes

He had a pigeon named Staffa, who mysteriously died

He loves hugging all the tall guys on the team so he can be lifted into the air and feel tall

He's the team jokester and prankster

Had a rivalry with Kostas when he first came to the club but now they're amicable

Loves to eat; his teammates usually know something's up if he refuses food

Ibrahima Konate

Is a textile nerd and he sews, knits and weaves

He has anime box sets and watches them to relax on the weekends

Is part of a rapping squad with Kostas and Harvey

Would look to Sadio for protection even though he's taller than him

Likes Alicia Keys just like Hendo and they vibe to it together sometimes

Is embarrassed about the rap song he tried to make for Kostas on "Call Yourself A Teammate"

Often a loner but will hang out with Harvey and Lucho sometimes

Robbo is the closest thing he has to a best friend

Everybody calls him Ibou

When Darwin heard his full first name, he tried to call him Ibra. But it came out more like bra and everybody laughed about it for weeks

Wears beanie hats just like Ali's and steals them sometimes

Schneider Family

The Schneiders are composed of: Edward and Jokan (Ed and Jo), twin brothers. Ann and Anne also twins, although their maiden name was Becker, when they married the Schneider twins they changed to their married name. They met at a party, became friends and after a few years, they became engaged and soon after married. They are from Germany, although they live elsewhere.

Job: Trendsetter

Ann as a young girl looked a little different, even wearing contact lenses like her twin sister Anne, in blue. Her hair was blue,black,purple. But she finally decided to have blue hair in different shades. She has the job of her dreams. She has a son and a daughter who are twins, but they both have very different powers, by the way Ann is not and has never been supernatural.

Ann is starting to like sports, is it because she sees Ed doing sports so much in the morning?

Job: University Rector

Edward, or Ed as he is called by those closest to him, like his brother Jokkan, has never changed his appearance or even the color of his hair. He, like his twin brother, works in the field of education, they both work at the same university.

He likes sports and always tries to do some in the morning before going to work.

Job: Student

Alice, as a child has been a very obedient infant, she grew up with the typical problems that a young witch has, but nothing more, now being a teenager is when her magic is more noticeable. High school grades go like a roller coaster.

Spencer is a vampire who despite his youth has come a long way, between classes he has been developing his vampire powers and has been learning everything about them, he is currently Vampire Supreme. Although he is a vampire he can not neglect his studies and tries to carry them as best he can. Alice and he both have the trait of Advanced Infant.

Last name: Schneider

Anne, when she was young she wore her hair to one side and blue contact lenses, now as an adult she wears her hair to both sides and no longer wears contact lenses. She has a mole on her right side. Her nephew Spencer turned her into a vampire, although we don't know if she wanted it or not. She has no job because she is afraid of getting fried in the sun.

First Name: Jokan

Last name: Schneider

Job: University Teacher

Jokkan, like his brother, has never changed his hair color, nor has he had any tattoos or anything else done. He works at the same university as his brother Ed, he is a teacher.

First Name: Markus

Last name: Schneider

Job: Student

Markus was an infant vampire, but something happened between his infancy and childhood because when he reached adolescence, he is no longer a vampire. In high school he is a bit bad, and his grades are not very good, since he hardly presents his homework. His hair color became lighter as he grew up, and his eyes became the same color as his twin brother's, since he had blue eyes when he was a child.

First Name: Paul

Last name: Schneider

Job: Student

Paul, as a little boy, was already a bit of a cheeky dresser, and like his brother, his hair had lightened. He is a normal student like his brother, but he does his homework every day, so his grades are better than his brother's. He is a very good student. And both brothers like physical exercise. And both of them have the trait of learning ace.
