Two more to add to my collection for this band
This is a band I just started getting into the summer of this year. These two are the bookends to the bands catalog. Rock the American Way being the debut album and Souls of the Innocent the newest release.
Even though these two albums are from two different time periods they both sound great and had that true hard rock feel to them. Great albums. So happy I found this band.
Now to track down the last two albums I need to complete the CD collection for this band (Defiance and Stand Your Ground).

Metal Mania #8 — Page 20

——————————
of Cinema’s performance was the soloing coming from Mike and Dan. During “Rockin’ the U.S.”, Dan took a killer guitar break though he does’nt play on the studio version appearing on U.S. Metal II. That song, along with “Fast Action”, “Wake up and rock” and others similarly titled were overly typical of Cinema’s good but-nothing-special set.
An amusing thing about thier show was the conflicting stage personas they all projected, all of them seeming to clash with the others in the band Varney was at his side of the stage scowling and sneering while on the other side Dan was happily bouncing about. In the middle we see Peter making an attempt to conform to that all too obvious Hollywood look and Hari somehow trying to retain a bit of sincerity in the midst of it all.
Mike and Dan are good guitarist and I would hope they would do something more interesting than what they’re doing with Cinema. Previously, Mike had said that he would keep his band and his U.S. Metal project separate entities but he apparently had a change of heart on that one which I find  a bit disappointing. I would like to see him get in to new things, musically, to give us something to look forward to.
Some highlights on the U.S. Metal II album include “World War 3” by a Toronto band with the same moniker as at least one HM band I can think of from the other side of the Atlantic: Exciter.
“Waiting” is a fine tune from a Chicago outfit called LeMans. On side two, we get another song from the Rods—but so what, thats followed by a great solo guitar performance by Mike Batio called “The Haunted House” and a tack from Hawaii’s own Vixen entitled “Angels from the dust” featuring excellent guitar death from Marty Friedman. Next comes “Children of the Storm” from upstate New York Metallers, Virgin Steel. Jack Starr is the ace axeman on that cut. And to close the album we have Failsafe doing “Just passin’ thru”. Monday, November 28: Jack Starr, “Chains of Love”
R.I.P. Rhett Forrester (1956-1994)
Rhett Forrester was born (and tragically died) in Georgia, but his most famous work was with New York acts: after a couple records with Riot, he sang on ex-Virgin Steele guitarist Jack Starr’s solo debut Out of the Darkness.  Neither partnership lasted very long, as Starr soon opted to start a proper band in Burning Starr (besides Forrester, two members of The Rods fleshed out the instrumentation on Out of the Darkness).  With all of that in mind, “Chains of Love” bridged the very minor gap between early Virgin Steele and the first couple Burning Starr albums, as Starr’s writing and playing was very much in the fast-paced crunching traditional heavy metal mold.  This was prime Z-grade mid ‘80s metal, with some fine shredding, a bit of flash and very little brains, with Forrester as the X factor with his simultaneously snarling, screeching and soulful vocals.  It was fun enough as a club-ready banger, embodying what was going on in trenches around the NYC area.

Had the honor of cosplaying Jack Skellingtam and meeting and taking a Selphie with Ben Starr and Gideon Emery at Kupocon Toronto last December, and they were so nice and spot on. I love them as Clive from Final Fantasy XVI, Balthier and Biggs from Final Fantasy XII and VII and more.
Bonus: They signed my goodies too :D

“If you think it’s to loud; Then you’re to old!!”
That says it all.
Picked these up after seeing this band had a new album out (not same lineup though). These albums are pretty heavy for the mid 80’s rock scene. Had never heard of them before, so thought I would check out their 80’s sound. Both albums are very enjoyable, though Blaze Of Glory I enjoyed a little bit more. Have their 4th album ordered and hope it is just as good.

Burning Starr- No Turning Back - 1986
Burning Starr, Jack Starr from Virgin Steele’s project! Good, solid, power metal - lots of metal (look at the cover art!), lots of cliches, lots of fun!
