Introduction Post

This is going to be our introduction post for this blog / our parts. 

We have been a passive member of the DID community for a long time now, and we decided it would be nice to set up a true system blog. We have been diagnosed with DID, and our body is over 21. 

Our system name is the Colubrid Collective, named after our favorite family of snake, Colubridae. Church chose “collective” over “system” for two reasons: it alliterates, and he says that collective sounds more communist. 

This blog doesn’t necessarily have a set purpose or goal. It is mostly just a place for us to be an active part of the community. There will most likely be resources, memes, personal posts, anecdotal experiences, research ... anything we feel is relevant to either DID or our system. There may be MBTI / typology things, too. Church is really into it. 

We aren’t great at tagging, but if anything needs to have a content warning, please let us know. :)

Please note that we will not be labeling roles outside of “frequent fronter” and “protector.” We do not like many of the terms used to describe the roles of parts, and we do not like to attach a strict labeling system onto ourselves - it is too complex to post here.

Interests: snake care. I am a host, but that is all I have a passion for, haha. I have a kingsnake, a cornsnake, and I am taking care of my boyfriend’s hognose until he moves back in with me! I know a lot about snake care.

We’re not even really sure where to start with things, but we had some unpleasant dreams last night so we’re posting some stuff about the introject and introject-adjacent alters so hopefully they can make friends and stuff.

Storm is really into DC shit, she’s from the DC universe, grew up bouncing around everywhere exciting due to being orphaned at a young age and having a decent control over her superpowers. She was like 5 when her parents were killed by some bad guys and they kidnapped her and trained her for a few years but she ran away and got picked up by a few groups of rabble-rousers, so she’s got a wide assortment of skills like computer stuff (although her information is now severely outdated.) She wants to be in contact with other introjects from the DC universe, particularly those that were/are a part of the batfamily.

Delphi is the integrated result of a non-introject alter and a Welcome To Nightvale introject fragment, and she’d enjoy connecting with people into witchcraft and other WTNV introjects. She is what I would personally consider a trauma holder, cuz she’s traumatized and working through it. Her blog is @eos-of-the-dawn

Percy Jackson is 17, pre Heroes of Olympus, and is open to meeting other alters from PJO, but he’s also the most well adjusted to life in the system so he might take a while to respond to things.

Rose is an introject, but everyone here is kinda embarrassed to say where from, but she likes all things 80’s and is a big Metallica fan.

Will doesn’t like talking to people, but he likes watching forensic files and he likes dogs.

I’m technically introject adjacent, but it was a huge point of tension for a while in my life so I don’t really mention it, but I’ve got some tumblr sexyman in me. Extra points if you correctly guess which one.

Oh and Riley used to be Jason Dean, but she’s not around much and is absolutely not Jason Dean anymore.

Childhood Alters:

Kris is a nonbinary lesbian. They hold physical abuse memories. They seem to age with the body. They were the first to show our NPD symptoms and did so before 5 years of age.

“Ciao” (it’s a system in-joke) is a nonhuman alter who we can see evidence of as early as 3 years of age. She is currently less active and has been less and less active since elementary school.

Issac is a child alter who seems to be ~11-12 years old. He is another trauma holder. He has delusions of knowing when the apocalypse will occur. He is an alter dated to have come along around 5 years of age. He now stays almost exclusively in headspace.

Dean is an alter we date to ~7 years of age. He seems to age with the body. He is a bi trans guy. He holds trauma memories regarding bullying and our friends. He has the most triggers.

Jason is a protector dated back to 11 years old. He acted as a persecutor for a time when Dean was the host. He is nonbinary and identifes as queer. He holds the sexual abuse memories.

Middle School:

“Blueberry” (another in-joke) is a nonhuman alter who has a nihilistic viewpoint that he hides under layers of positivity. He was triggered by mood swings (especially happiness) and holds trauma memories regarding suicide attempts.

The next alter is a fictional introject and a persecutor.

High School + :

Reigen is a fictional introject who acts as a “system dad-friend”. He identifies himself as being 26 years old. September 20, 2016 is when he appeared in system.

Johnathan is a child alter ~16. He draws eyes on our arms for fun.

Mary is a child alter ~8 who primarily spends time in headspace with Issac.

I’m not going to grace this alter with a description.

I am James. I appeared for finality 11:54pm on the last day in December 2017. I’m a gay man, though I also use queer as an identifier. I’m the current host. I spend my time learning coping skills and trying my hardest to be a good person. I write poetry and know how to dress well (let me just empathize that @ the childhood alters). I’m an introject of a close friend (“you wouldn’t download an identity!”- dean) and it’s a trip sometimes in learning the differences between that person and I.

Robin is a nonhuman fictional introject. He primarily acts as a protector for me due to my impulsivity. He is, by far, our best artist.

This alter is a fictional introject and I’m not going to say to what. I dislike him.

The next alter is a fictional introject as well. He is a child alter and claims to be 13 now that “his birthday” has passed. He has more symptoms of our anemia than some others and acts much like a childhood alter.

Roswell is a peach. He’s a flavor of nonbinary and he enjoys spirit work. He’s a fictional introject as well. He managed to learn some skills in special effects makeup and it’s helped me immensely.

Kadin is a fictional introject and has panic attacks many times a day. He interrupts my videos sometimes and I can get frustrated with him

We coped almost exclusively with media as a distraction as a child and it’s spilled into our adulthood as one of our more healthy coping methods. It’s resulted in a lot of fictional introjects (many now dormant and so excluded).
