sometimes i’m sooooo blown away by the fact that kevin is so smart……. like yes he is the fox with the highest grades despite being also the fox with the tightest training schedule and yes he canonically gets called an obsessive genius and yes the extra content explicitly says he is both very smart and very willing to teach people. but really i am thinking about kevin playing reporters like fiddles, jean calling kevin too good of a liar to ever let anything slip, kevin going up to andrew post-game and wordlessly helping cover up the fact andrew is off his medicine by pretending andrew’s racquet had broken (and then proceeding to discreetly crush it in his hand when the foxes gather around andrew), kevin living a lifetime of walking on the edge of riko’s knife, kevin hiding french, hiding thea, kevin spotting potential from a mile away, kevin who even riko thought was brilliant and sharp-tongued. yeah……..!

I know there's a lot of headcanons that Jean had to hide his French accent because Riko hated it and suddenly he'll let it slip while at USC and it makes him 10x hotter but....

We literally get told that he still has the accent and that it's pretty strong and my heart BREAKS for him. Bcno matter how much he tried to hide and suppress it, it never went away. Can you imagine the rage Riko must've felt every time Jean spoke?? How much pain Riko must've inflicted on him after Kevin left and he was reminded of their betrayal every single time Jean spoke????

Nora saying Neil would probably never have left Jean alone in the Nest if he had grown up there is so devastating to me in so many ways because the Neil we know is all about self preservation - see the whole zombie apocalypse/"i want to go back for you" conversation - and to know that given the circumstances if Neil and Jean grew up together they'd both be property, they'd be each others partners, but maybe they'd also be friends, be made of the same stuff (they already are!!), unable to leave each other behind, be each other's anchors.

(And not mention the implications on Kevin and Jean's relationship bc Kevin would always leave (?) and what does that say about how he sees and understands Jean and his place as property. something something about "i love you, but i can't fight for you".)
