CHIEN DE LA CASSE - Il y a des films qui s'imposent par la force de l'histoire qu'ils racontent et d'autres qui impressionnent davantage par la vérité de leurs personnages. Chien de la casse, le premier long-métrage de Jean-Baptiste Durand, se caractérise nettement par le deuxième aspect. Avec ses deux jeunes héros d'un village de l'Hérault, liés par une amitié particulière, l'un du genre tchatcheur et l'autre plutôt taiseux, les duo glande de concert, avec une petite bande, le soir tombé.

Une errance presque immobile, en attendant que quelque chose se passe.

Alors que la banlieue est surreprésentée dans le cinéma français, la vie dans les campagnes, hormis via des portraits de paysans, a enfin droit de cité dans Chien de la casse dont l'atmosphère constitue le principal atout. La relation entre les deux protagonistes principaux, est peu perturbante; souvent accompagnés d'un chien étonnant, qui n'est pas loin de voler la vedette aux acteurs.

Impossible pourtant de passer sous silence la prestation étourdissante de Raphaël Quenard, déjà aperçu dans des productions récentes, et à de multiples reprises, mais qui stupéfie ici dans un premier rôle où il laisse s'exprimer sa singulière qualité de jeu et son invraisemblable débit de paroles: étonnant de par son naturel lié à une sorte d'étrangeté habitée. Ce comédien est une dangereuse grenade prête à exploser dans le cinéma français.

NOTE 10/20 - Intéressant, mais vraiment pas passionnant, une réussite en demi teinte, un bon début, dirais je pour faire ma prof.

Ce matin sur Skype, la chanson de Sting (Every breath you take) nous a été joliment interprétée à la guitare par le Kid. Un régal ! En fin d'après-midi, un vol d'étourneaux s'est élancé vers la lune. Plus tard, vers l'ouest, le ciel offrait encore un beau spectacle, coloré et tourmenté. J'ai oublié de vous dire, c'est un grand film que j'ai découvert l'autre soir : "Chien de la casse", première réalisation de Jean-Baptiste Durand. Une vraie réussite, avec des dialogues inoubliables, tout comme la performance des deux acteurs principaux, Raphaël Quenard et Antony Bajon. C'est original, drôle, cruel, tendre. Bref, c'est à voir.
