How did Jean Marie Straub die? Cause of death - revealed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How did Jean Marie Straub die? Cause of death - revealed How did Jean Marie Straub die? Cause of death - revealed.Let’s look at what happened and Jean Marie Straub cause of death in more depth.
Who is Jean Marie Straub?
French filmmakers Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet collaborated on a dozen movies between 1963 and 2006. Their films are renowned for their radical, communist politics and rigorous, intellectually challenging aesthetic. Despite being French, they both primarily worked in Germany and Italy. Among the best-received works by the team are Sicilia! (1999) and From the Clouds to the Resistance (1979).
Jean Marie Straub career
In 1954, Metz-born Straub and Paris-born Huillet met while they were both students. At the time, Straub was active in the Parisian film world. Francois Truffaut and Straub were friends, and Straub contributed to Cahiers du Cinéma, albeit Truffaut would not publish some of Straub's more provocative works. ] He served as Jacques Rivette's assistant while he was directing the 1956 movie A Fool's Mate. He also supported Abel Gance, Jean Renoir, Robert Bresson, and Alexandre Astruc in their work in Paris. Later, the two moved to Germany so that Straub could avoid serving in the Algerian military. During his early years, Straub studied Bach. Huillet initially intended to produce ethnographic films, but she ended up working with Straub on his endeavours instead. After 1968's Chronicle of Anna Magdalena Bach, they made movies at a comparatively steady pace, finishing a feature every two to three years. Prior to that, they had not made a full-length feature. The Chronicle of Anna Magdalena Bach was laboriously produced. Up until 1967, there was a ten-year financial battle. They also produced a short film in 1968 called The Bridegroom, the Actress, and the Pimp, which starred Rainer Werner Fassbinder and his theatre group. ] Midway through the 1970s, they started making movies in Italy. They increasingly started dividing their time between Italy and Germany and frequently worked with French and British producers. ]For the most of their lives, Straub and Huillet were housemates. They didn't have any kids.

Jean Marie Straub collaboration .
Jean-Marie Straub represented the couple in public since he is more outgoing; this has led to the general perception that Huillet had a supporting role in their filming. In actuality, the two divided their work evenly, with Huillet in charge of the majority of production design and editing, Straub handling the mise en scène, and the two sharing equal responsibility for pre-production, texts, and rehearsals. This technique is demonstrated in Pedro Costa's documentary Where Does Your Hidden Smile Lie?, which was shot while Sicilia! was being edited. The longevity of Huillet and Straub's relationships with many of their employees—often lasting for decades—is what makes their work unique. The majority of their work was produced by two cameramen, William Lubtchansky (9 pictures) and Renato Berta (20 films as of this writing), both of whom Jean-Marie Straub continues to collaborate with. Between 1967 and 1998, Louis Hochet, a sound engineer, was in charge of the sound recordings for 15 of her movies, including Chronik der Anna Magdalena Bach (1967), Moses and Aron (1974), and Von heute, which is determined by live recorded music auf Morgen (1996), all of which pioneered the use of music in motion pictures. A similarly influential relationship also existed with the Tuscan village of Buti, which was mostly employed asThe filmmakers Peter Nestler, Frans van de Staak, Holger Meins, Jean-Luc Godard, as well as their longtime cameraman Renato Berta, were just a few of the friends and coworkers Huillet and Straub frequently paid respect to. In contrast, Straub and Huillet were more frequently the focus of other people's films. Films about his and her work have been produced by Harun Farocki (Amerika, a 1983 movie based on a story by Franz Kafka, starring Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet), Pedro Costa (Where Does Your Hidden Smile Lie?, 2001), and Peter Nestler (Defense of Time, 2007). One of the most fascinating things in the locked tomb is the juxtaposition between systematic cruelty and personal kindness.
The nine houses and their Shepard worlds are designed to be hostile and Blood of Eden is not known for there clean hands either.
the 1st house is a killing ground powered by the trapped dead
The 2nd and 4th houses are factories for soldiers.
The 8th are religious fanatics.
the ninth house a death cult
The 3rd is a cutthoat gossip hell with cannibalism produced by the CW
The 7th glorifies illness and suffering for no good reason.
The 6th is Academia....which is not a societal group known for there kindness.
We never get to see the cruelty of the 5th they are too polite for that, but no faction that much power without making hard choices over and over again.
The refugee worlds of Nona is a shitty scary place full of upset people.
these places sound horrible.
but over and over again, we see characters who love unselfishly characters who are are kind, character who trust, and characters who want the best for those around them.
Magnus and Abigail who can have no children of there own and instead care for wayward shitty teen.
Corona who cares are Judith even when Judith is almost impossible to care for.
Isaac who just wants to get home to all his little siblings, and Jeanmarie who treats Gideon nav as the older sister she never had.
Judith who just wants everyone to survive, even though she lacks the skill to articulate the desire.
Marta who is flawed and boring and honorable and funny. and who threw herself into battle for anyone she thought might have a point.
Colum Ast who has been worn down into nothing but still refused to break his word to a rude teenage girl who has been chattel her whole life as well.
Protessalous with his roses and his poetry and his kindness to Ortus who has forgotten how to have firends.
Dulcie with her need for truth.
Ortus Nigonad, who is the first person we ever really see form the ninth house who tried to make amends for his past neglect.
Aiglamine and Crux who could not love the children they way they needed to be loved, but they loved them all the same.
Mattius Nonius who came when called to defend people he had never met and who's only complaint was about talking in meter.
Camilla and Palamedes and there insistence that Nona get Agency! and Harrow get compassion, and that Gideon should get forgiveness and also extra food.
Pyrrha with her love, for her necromancer, for her almost daughter Gideon, for the woman she loved, and for the two young people she came to love.
Joli who I have a whole post about.
the Angel who was a vet and became a teacher and got the last of their students out.
we suffer who took a chance on crown, and pyrrha and teh sixth,
And Hot Sause who showed Nona how to forgive and the other children from the gang who cared for each other and Nona and their families.
and I've probably missed some, but these are characters who could turn away, say this isn't my problem, do less, but instead....they chose kindness.

Also definitely not prompted by a reblog I saw of that post but I get real sick of people thinking up RW/BY AUs for a ship unrelated to her and then assigning Ruby the cute little kid role in every one. She is the exact same age as Yang and Blake were in volume 1, she is a Huntress and a leader and has gone through the exact same traumas as the rest of her team.
Like, it’s not that big a deal but it’s indicitive to me of how the FNDM (and especially the bee shippers if I’m honest), still see Ruby as a cute little kid who’s meant to be protected and worried over by Yang and nothing else.

About
Some voices are immortal because they are just heavenly and magical. However, if there is one voice which has reshaped not only Hindi film music but also India’s popular culture and enriched our lives, it is none other than the great Lata Mangeshkar. Famously known as ‘The Nightingale of India’, Lata ji always mesmerised us with her magical & melodious voice for more than seven decades. Her singing for the beautiful & talented heroines down the years has added much charisma to their silver screen personalities and success of the movies as well. Her career actually spanned the arc of Hindi cinema, right from India’s independence. In 1989 the ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Award’ was bestowed on her by the Government of India and in 2001 she was honoured with the ‘Bharat Ratna’. She may have left us for her heavenly abode but she will live in our hearts forever. We celebrate her immense contribution with this special channel dedicated to ‘Lata Mangeshkar: The Nightingale of India’.

Fallopian Tube Removal Urged for Women Past Child-Bearing Years
Tumblr media
Ovarian cancer is a relatively rare condition with no reliable screening test. A large-scale clinical trial conducted in the UK found that blood tests and imaging scans for early ovarian cancer detection were unable to identify tumors early enough to significantly impact mortality. Symptoms associated with the disease, such as bloating, often occur later in the cancer’s progression.
Given a lack of accurate and timely testing, in 2023, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology recommended increasing the accessibility of genetic testing and promoted prophylactic fallopian tube removal among women with no genetic risks. This reflects the fact that ovarian cancer, which causes 13,000 US deaths each year, typically starts in the fallopian tube.
Standard practice is for surgeons to remove both the ovaries and fallopian tubes in women with tumor-implicated BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations. This is typically undertaken after the childbearing years are passed (35 to 40 for those with BRCA1, 40 to 45 for those with BRCA2).
The new recommendation is that women without known genetic mutations have the fallopian tubes surgically removed if they are no longer planning for more children (and have another a gynecologic operation scheduled). Not only does this significantly lower the risk of ovarian cancer developing, but it also leaves intact the ovaries, which produce hormones with beneficial later-life effects, such as addressing osteoporosis and heart disease.

have you ever thought about house swap aus? gideon and harrow in third, ianthe and corona in ninth, or etc. could be a drawing request for your take on this or just an ask :3
Tumblr media
I can only see harrow working in a rigorous 6th environment and I love the idea of Gideon and harrow working like Pal and Cam.
Harrowhark being interested in Antiquities and lyctors of old. An Abigal Palamades hybrid. And Gideon learning the rapier to be Harrows Cav but choosing to spend most of the time with the longsword.
I also think Jeanmarie and Issac being from the 9th house is interesting with their paranoia machine running.
I have NO IDEA where anyone else would fit, maybe Corona and Ianthe being 7th? Judith and Marta being 8??

Strong opinion: Gideon Nav is not a golden retriever!
Gideon is a husky. She's opinionated, strong, very self sufficent, tough as nails, and also a dramatic bitch!
To follow this up
Marta Dias: German Shepard, she shows up, ready to work, does her job as a professional and looks forward to her kibble at the end of the day.
Coronabeth Tridentarius: Standard Poodle. Under all that hair and good breeding is a frighteningly compitent hunting dog just waiting to show you that she is the best and exactly why you should love her.
Naberius Tern: sadly that boy is a toy poodle. And he's doing the best with what he has...its a pitty about the yapping.
Jeanmarie Chatur: a young English lab or pointer...she's going to be the best there ever was if only she can get the chance to grow up.
Magnus Quinn: is the actual Golden retriever. His kind have been breed for years to be a part of the family, he loves you and your kids...he's a goofball....he is perfect...
Camilla Hect: mid sized terrier. Yes, she looks cute with her big personality and messy coat, but she never lost the instincts that alowed her ancestors to run into Badger dens and fight the enemy on thier own ground. She is smart and visious and determined and she loves her person.
Protessalous: the mutt you had growing up who passed away when you were a teen. He isn't any clear breed....but somehow all other dogs are measured up to him and found a bit wanting...
Colum asht: mastiff....he's big, overbreed, designed for one use only (to put fear in the hearts of his enemies) and won't live as long as the other dogs. But he's doing his best.

Something I don't think I've seen people touch on in relation to the Fourth and the Fifth, and the question of annexation is that this is a feudal society: the leaders of the Nine Houses are hereditary aristocrats who hold their land and income directly from their king. (The Sixth may be theoretically more meritocratic, but their leadership still functions within that system). These fiefdoms have lines of income from military conquest ("Cohort prizes") and from other aspects of imperial administration.
It's clear that some Houses are more powerful and influential than others. Harrow articulates early on a fear of the Ninth becoming "an appendix" of the more powerful Third or Fifth: a client state to a more powerful aristocratic family.
And this isn't just Harrow's unfounded fear. Because it's clearly something that's been happening to the Fourth for some time.
The aristocratic titles of the world are very confusing (the Third have princesses, the Seventh are apparently a duchy, and the Fifth don't seem to have any specific title - "Lady" isn't a title in itself, beyond denoting some other aristocratic status), but it's worth noting that a Baron - like the Fourth - is the lowest order of the nobility.
The Cohort Intelligence Files say that:
Abigail Pent has forged a strong relationship with both Tettares and Chatur, much stronger even than her mothers’ relationship with Tettares’ father.
Which suggests to me that the Fourth has been a client of the Fifth for some time. The Second are clearly aware of this and hoping to be able to gain more influence, though they don't sound hopeful about it.
And no wonder, because Isaac is basically the ward of the Fifth. Abigail's mothers had already cultivated a relationship with the Fourth. The heir of the Fourth is a minor, and the Lady of the Fifth has taken custody of him in a very medieval way: she has had him educated and is apparently arranging a marriage for him which would bring the Fourth into even closer connection with the Fifth. If that medieval pattern goes further, we might assume that this arrangement is also of ongoing financial benefit to the Fifth, allowing them to profit from Isaac's estates - depending on quite what a Cohort prize is, this could be quite lucrative.
None of this is meant to suggest that Abigail and Magnus don't genuinely care for Isaac and Jeanmarie! They clearly do. But it does point toward what Harrow is so afraid of: not just a loss of identity for the Ninth, but a potential loss of financial independence (such as it isn't), and the concern that another House might rob her of autonomy over her education or marriage.
This is a society where indentured servitude is apparently common enough to have specific rules for entry to the armed forces, so it wouldn't surprise me if they also had some kind of practice of wardage.
