Recycling old snits to kick Catherine again: Revealed: Meghan Markle's reality TV star friend Garcelle Beauvais made jibe at Kate Middleton for missing Lilibet's birthday by u/Von_und_zu_
Recycling old snits to kick Catherine again: Revealed: Meghan Markle's reality TV star friend Garcelle Beauvais made jibe at Kate Middleton for missing Lilibet's birthday Why is the DM prominently running this stupid story about this Garcelle person's comments uttered in June 2022, on E!'s Daily Pop talk show about her opinion as to the failure of William and Catherine to drop everything to attend the putative female child's birthday party in June 2022 during the Platinum Jubilee. And, I guess they also missed the chance to be photographed by sycophant Misan and appear in the NF mockumentary as photos from this "party" were splashed about strategically by Madame after the fact.Btw - am I the only person who does not have a clue about this Garcelle person? Just like I had never heard of Megsy until she had been dating Harold, I've never heard of her before the jam crap. Now, I consider her pre Markled and toxic.Garcelle Beauvais, known for her stint on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has become the latest famous fance to join the exclusive 'jamfluencer' club alongside Chrissy Teigen, Heather Dorak, Tracy Robbins and Kris Jenner.Garcelle, who lives in Northridge which is a 80-minute drive to Montecito, has previously spoken about the royal family feud and opened up about her thoughts on The Prince and Princess of Wales.Garcelle said it was it was 'shady' for the future King and Queen to miss their niece Lilibet's first birthday, which she celebrated at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor in 2022 during the late Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee. On the day, Wiliam and Kate were in Wales representing his late grandmother by overseeing concert rehearsals at Cardiff Castle, joined by Prince George and Princess Charlotte - who undertook their first official royal walkabout.***However, Garcelle said it was it was 'shady' for the future King and Queen to miss their niece's birthday, despite being on official duty. The 57-year-old said: 'What's going on is, "What a coincidence, we're out of town, I'm washing my hair". There's a little shade there.' When she was asked whether the scheduling could be a coincidence, Garcelle replied: 'No. They can't hold back the flight a couple of hours to meet Lilibet and Archie?'The reality star has since proved her closeness to Meghan after she bagged herself jar number 15 of the royals' American Riviera Orchard Jam, and uploaded a picture of the jar resting on a bunch of vibrant, yellow lemons. She captioned the post 'Sweetness' with a lemon emoji and tagged the American Riviera Orchard Instagram. Only 50 of Meghan's closest celebrity pals got sent a limited edition jar of her jam as part of her 'soft launch' to the brand. What?! How charming to equate duty and royal engagements with the "I'm washing my hair" excuse. How thoughtful to suggest inconveniencing everyone involved with the long scheduled royal engagements in favor of a last minute birthday party for someone they do not know. Of course, William and Catherine, and the entire RF should have dropped everything to show up to celebrate this child's birthday! Because of course, Harold and Madame are more important than those peasants awaiting them in Wales! It is just incredible to me that they are finding this petty crap from years ago to keep them in the news, to kick the PPoW again, to distract from any criticism of their faux royal tour to Nigeria, etc. Also, it could not be more obvious to me that someone in Montegrifto prompted/wrote this article.https://ift.tt/28XPo5J post link: https://ift.tt/cRZa9ne author: Von_und_zu_ submitted: April 30, 2024 at 04:44PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit disclaimer: all views + opinions expressed by the author of this post, as well as any comments and reblogs, are solely the author's own; they do not necessarily reflect the views of the administrator of this Tumblr blog. 22 April 2024: King Abdullah II said Jordan has always proven its ability to succeed and move forward with the persistence of Jordanians.
During a meeting with figures and representatives from Madaba, attended by Queen Rania, His Majesty said Madaba is a symbol of coexistence and generosity, reflecting an exemplary model of diversity in Jordan.
The historical and religious heritage of Madaba is a motivator to seek new achievements, especially in advancing the tourism sector, the King said at the meeting, held at Mount Nebo as part of outreach visits to the governorates on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee, stressing the importance of benefiting from opportunities in the governorate.
His Majesty commended development efforts in Madaba across all sectors, especially agriculture, noting the educational institutions that Madaba boasts, which are a source of pride for all Jordanians.
Speaking at the meeting, Madaba Governor Nayef Hidayat highlighted the development and achievements witnessed by the governorate, under the King’s leadership, which also reflected on all Jordanians.
Expressing best wishes to His Majesty on the Silver Jubilee, the governor added that Jordan’s resilience and prosperity is the result of all Jordanians coming together around their leadership and nation, praising Jordan’s support for Arab countries.
Upon arrival at Mount Nebo, the King was welcomed by a folk performance by a band affiliated with the Madaba Forum Society to Revive Heritage, and a poetry recital.
Prior to the meeting, His Majesty, accompanied by Her Majesty, visited Madaba Visitors Centre, which highlights the historical, geographical, and religious significance of Madaba throughout the ages.
During a tour of the facility, the King listened to a briefing by Tourism Minister Makram Queisi on the religious, cultural, and heritage-related elements in Madaba that attract tourists. His Majesty also viewed the King’s Way portrait, which is the world’s largest mosaic mural.
During the meeting, His Majesty bestowed the Silver Jubilee Medal on individuals and institutions in Madaba, in recognition of their contributions to serving Jordan, especially the local community in the governorate.
Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and Adviser to His Majesty for Tribal Affairs Kneiaan Bluwi attended the meeting.

Japanese Breakfast @ The Fillmore Philadelphia 10/31/23
“We’ll always be a Philly band. We came up in this city. We will die in this city! - Michelle Zauner
I decided to write a show review for Japanese Breakfast's Halloween show at the Fillmore Philadelphia. For me it is pretty surreal to see the rise of this band but last night marked their highest peak as they played to a sold out 2,500 capacity venue. It's remarkable when I think back to the venues her band, Philly's own, Little Big League, would play. Venues that are no longer with us like the Khyber and the short lived house shows at the Golden Tea House. Never in my wildest imagination could anyone predict the success of Japanese Breakfast and her acclaimed book "Crying In H Mart" but it shows that anything is possible if you believe and keep pursuing your dreams.
A decade later Michelle and her band Japanese Breakfast are on a magical run and deemed this the final Jubilee tour in support of 2021's record Jubilee. Michelle was once quoted in saying if this particular record doesn't sell anything will call it a day for good. That wasn't the case one bit as Jubilee became the band's most popular record. They toured relentlessly for the last three years supporting the record playing every festival they can get on and every venue in every city.
Last night was certainly a celebration and a closure on those last three years as a band. The band decided to all come out in costumes of Lord of the Rings characters and gave us a lengthy 90 minute, 20 song setlist.
Before the start, Crooks and Nannies, opened up the night. This band is from the West Philly area. They were added since Hop Along had to drop off the show sadly. There were a lot of switching off between signing and playing drums between two vocalists. I was not into these vocals at all and overall the band wanted to be noisy but it just didn't work for me as a listener. At one point their drummer started screaming into the microphone and it all felt like a bad prank on "Impractical Jokers".
After Crooks and Nannies, an unannounced comedian Sarah Sherman made a guest surprise set. If you're unfamiliar with Sarah she is from New York, super Jewish, and despite a terrible lesbian mullet haircut is straight! She's also on Saturday Night Live so there's that. Sarah went the route to trash Philadelphia and Eagles fans and honestly the crowd HATED her. The crowd was VERY thin skinned so anything shocking comedy the young 20 something are going to be offended. I found her comedy very hit or miss but the hits kept me laughing.
I appreciated her desire to get up there and completely dunk on a city. She had a bit where she would play the Seinfeld theme while doing a highly annoying New York voice. That whole bit went on for way too long before it got as stale as New York bagel. She did inform the crowd just be grateful you're not my boyfriend and only have to deal with me for 20 minutes. She relied on gross out humor as well which reminded me of Eric Andre. I can understand why they call her Sarah Squirm now.
Sarah Sherman came back out dressed as Gollum and introduced Japanese Breakfast who took the stage in their LOTR costumes. Michelle was Saruman, the white sorcerer and her husband Peter was Gandolf. The band just showcased a ton of spirit and was well received from the crowd. They played pretty much everything off of Jubilee and a good amount from Psychopomp and Soft Sounds. A touching moment came when Michelle brought out her former bandmate Kevin from Little Big League to perform "Lindsay". That was certainly quite the treat for Halloween.
Overall, you can tell this show was a closing moment for the band. It just seemed like a chapter was ending. Peter and Michelle will be moving to Korea next year in 2024 as she begins to write her second book and work on new music overseas.
As the confetti fell from the sky during "Everybody Wants To Love You" I couldn't help but think about this truly remarkable band. They have given me such joy over the last few years but also made me reflect on life as a mid 30 year old. I will never forget the time I spent with them and the journey I saw to where they are now.
Thank you Japanese Breakfast and best of luck. You are loved!

I learned from a post of my colleague, Prof. Gerry T Los Baños, that Prof. Carlos Ojeda Aureus (1947-2024) had passed. Caloy was a retired professor in literature and previous holder of the Diamond Jubilee Professorial Chair at the UP Department of English and Comparative Literature. Armed with experiences as a scholar at El Instituto de Cooperación Iberoamericana (ICI) en Madrid, he taught Latin and Spanish at UP's Department of European Languages. “Nagueños” is his highly acclaimed collection of short fiction on the people and places across Naga. “The Late Comer,” his story, won first prize in the 1996 Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature. His other stories, “Chinita,” Flake of Fire, Bodies of Light,” “Wings,” “Typhoon,” and especially “The night train does not stop here anymore,” also deserve some more critical attention. Also in dire need of revisiting is Caloy’s The Catholic Imagination, published in the inaugural issue of Humanities Diliman (Vol. 1, no. 1, Jan. 2000 - Jun. 2000: 92-108).
His Ph.D. dissertation in UP entitled “Towards a Dialogical Reading of W. B. Yeats' Vision” (1992) is a pioneering contribution to Anglo-American literary studies from a unique postcolonial subject-position. Together with Retired Professor Lilia Fuentebella Realubit, Professors Paz Verdades Santos, and Tito Valiente, and supported by Naga City Mayor (1988-1998, 2001-2010) Jessie Robredo, Naga City Administrator (now Representative) Gabriel Bordado and Ateneo de Naga President (1988-1999) Fr. Raul Bonoan S.J., Caloy co-organized the first-ever Bikol Writers Workshop in Naga (1993). The workshop proved to be a catalyst for the resurgence of Bikol writing many years later. Caloy was proud of his experiences as a 1970 Silliman National Writers' Workshop fellow with National Artist Ricky Lee, Albert Casuga, Conrad de Quiros, and Wilfredo Pascua Sanchez. He frequently reminisced about Dumaguete and his writing friends in Silliman, including Francis Macansantos, Christine Godinez Ortega, Anthony Tan, and Rowena Tiempo Torrevillas. I will never forget bumping into Caloy over lunch at Casaa, where we purchased takeaway food during the late 1980s and early 1990s, or having coffee and meals with Dr Realubit in UP Diliman's Chateau Verde and his mom, Tita Teresing Ojeda Aureus, around Naga's Plaza Quince Martires and Plaza Rizal during the 1990s. On 19 August 2023, writer and translator Victor Dennis T. Nierva organized a walking tour of Naga based on iconic landmarks identified by Caloy in his Nagueños. Before he passed away, he was working on the biography of Dr. Realubit. Despite his brilliance, Caloy remained kind and very humble. I am sure his students will miss him.

The Life & Musical Legacy of Mandisa
K-LOVE Honors the Life & Musical Legacy of Mandisa
Friday, April 19, 2024 by Lindsay Williams
GRAMMY®-winning Christian music artist Mandisa, 47, passed away at her home in Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday, Apr. 18, 2024. The cause of death is not yet known.
Born and raised in California, Mandisa first came to national attention when she stood her ground with kindness when critiqued by “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell on Season 5 of the popular TV vocal competition. After finishing in the Top 10 on “Idol,” Mandisa released her debut album, “True Beauty,” in 2007.
The celebrated vocalist began her career as a member of the revered Fisk Jubilee Singers while in college at Nashville’s Fisk University. After “Idol” introduced her to the masses, her charismatic personality and show-stopping voice quickly captured the hearts of listeners and her fellow artists, many of whom she collaborated with through the years. Among her most notable collaborations were songs with TobyMac, Matthew West, Michael W. Smith, Kirk Franklin, Jordan Feliz and Jon Reddick.
The two-time K-LOVE Fan Award winner released five full-length projects and one Christmas LP over the course of her nearly two-decade tenure. 2013’s career-defining album, “Overcomer,” earned the powerhouse vocalist numerous accolades, as well as an array of critical praise and high-profile media coverage, including multiple appearances on “Good Morning America.” In addition to songs of resilience like “Overcomer,” Mandisa became a staple at Christian radio with energetic, faith-affirming singles like “Stronger,” “Good Morning (feat. TobyMac)” and “My Deliverer.”
Even more than her music, the Platinum-selling singer will forever be known for her huge heart and sincerity. Her longtime friend, frequent collaborator and former tourmate TobyMac described her best when he penned an endorsement for her last book. “Since the first day I met Mandisa, she has been nothing but original and courageous,” Toby shared. “My touring family is better when she is out with us. She genuinely supports each artist that takes the stage, as well as every crew member behind the stage. In a single word, I would say without hesitation that she is one of the most authentic people I have ever met. Her heart is to help others.”
Mandisa’s final collection of all-new musical material, "Out of the Dark," bowed in 2017. She’s since released a “greatest hits” compilation, a remix EP and a string of one-off worship singles. Mandisa revealed her battle with depression in her intimate memoir, “Out of the Dark: My Journey Through the Shadows to Find God’s Joy.” She further discussed her struggles on her “Out of the Dark” podcast with co-host Laura Williams on AccessMore. Even from her earliest days on “Idol,” Mandisa was respected for her transparency both on and off the stage.
“Mandisa loved Jesus, and she used her unusually extensive platform to talk about Him at every turn. Her kindness was epic, her smile electric, her voice massive, but it was no match for the size of her heart,” says David Pierce, K-LOVE Chief Media Officer. “Mandisa struggled, and she was vulnerable enough to share that with us, which helped us talk about our own struggles. Mandisa’s struggles are over. She is with the God she sang about now. While we are saddened, Mandisa is home. We’re praying for Mandisa’s family and friends and ask you to join us.”

The Unsustainable Library Library Project Part 7:
Key West Intermezzo (I Saw You First) b/w Like A Rolling Stone John Mellencamp (Mercury) (released in 1996)
John Mellencamp isn't really my thing. I do own The Lonesome Jubilee and Big Daddy and I like them both, but that's as far as I go with his work (I once owned far more but gave them up with ease). But when I found this in one of two big boxes of CDs in storage and I saw that he does a cover of Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone, and that it is a live version from the Lonesome Jubilee tour, I wasn't going to leave it behind. As you know, I'm a sucker for Dylan covers including this particular song, one of my favorite Dylan tunes.
Above you see the front and the back. This is a wallet card and the weird thing is the opening is at the bottom. Who does that? Below you can see the CD.
Tumblr media
I'm hoping this is my final haul from the library. I have gone through every single CD in our sale room/ sorting room and storage room and all that remains are what gets donated. Who knows what lurks out there that has yet to come in, but I don't foresee the endless swarm I have brought home over the past several months.
Wednesday I went through all the CDs and put in at least 150 new discs in the rock section. Last night as I closed up shop, I checked to see if any sold. Among the missing that didn't even last past one sale were four Posies albums, three of the seven Cracker albums (a fan club album, a limited edition album with a bonus live disc but strangely, not the Kiss The Stone Cracker bootleg and then a regular studio album), all seven of the Doors albums (six of which were bootlegs), two volumes (both two CD sets) of rarities from Little Feat (Raw Tomatoes and Ripe Tomatoes), all the Keith Richards albums, all the Stones albums, all the Beatles albums (including a sealed copy of Macca's two disc Wingspan: Hits and History). Roughly 60 CDs sold yesterday! There are still plenty of jewels to be found for anyone foraging CDs in the rock section (there are at least ten mint copies of Prince albums to be found). Yes, Prince belongs in the rock section.

New music in 2024 is gonna be soooooo crazy. Sza basically confirmed her next album/SOS extended. Ethel Cain posting/clearing her insta. (Universal sign of something coming lmao) and dropping all these new ambient tracks. lorde being photographed with new producers in NYC and posting more frequently. Sasami has been playing new songs at shows for a while AND posted a pic of her dropping off a hard drive w L3 in the caption. Alexandra savior changed her pfp everywhere and announced US tour dates. And? No hints at this, but jbrekkie album seems like it could be on the horizon considering she hasn’t released a full LP since jubilee back in 2021 and that was her most massive release to date. 🫢 and dare I say it…no I shant… I will… mitski professionally recorded acoustic live album for the land???? Unrealistic but I will continue to hope …

National Gallery London Building, Trafalgar Square
National Gallery London, Sainsbury Wing, Architect, Image, Date, Extension, Design, Photo
National Gallery London : Architecture
Key Public Building in Trafalgar Square, England, UK
page updated 6 Mar 2021 + 23 Jun 2014
National Gallery Building London
The National Gallery has announced it is seeking a multi-disciplinary design team to work with it on a suite of capital projects to mark its bicentenary, with an initial phase to be opened in 2024.
To celebrate 200 years since its foundation in 1824, the National Gallery is planning a programme of inspirational exhibitions and outreach around the country and around the world, under the banner NG200. This will also include the completion of an initial phase of works to its Trafalgar Square buildings in order to improve the ‘welcome’ it provides to the millions of visitors it receives each year
An open, two-stage selection process, run by Malcolm Reading Consultants, is being undertaken to identify a team who can work with the Gallery and its advisers to develop an architectural vision and conceptual approach to a phased five-year programme of works.
The first stage is an open, international call for architect-led, multi-disciplinary design teams to register their interest and demonstrate their relevant skills and experience. A shortlist of up to five teams will then be asked to submit details of their approach to the design and delivery of the project and will be interviewed by a selection panel. No design work is required and some expenses will be paid to the shortlisted teams. An appointment is expected to be made in July 2021.
Commenting on the launch of the selection process, Director of the National Gallery, Dr Gabriele Finaldi said: ‘The capital projects are a hugely important part not just of our bicentenary celebrations but of our vision for the National Gallery of the future.
We are extremely fortunate to have a superb building and a modern classic in the Sainsbury Wing; one that has more than met its original brief, notably in the practically perfect picture galleries. The dual challenge of a huge increase in visitor numbers and the changing expectations and needs of those visitors over the last 30 years, means we do need to look again at the spaces we have, and in particular the ground floor entrances and amenities.
We recognise, of course, that we are all currently experiencing an unprecedented time of crisis, with an impact felt by every sector in every part of our country and across the globe. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on visitor numbers to all cultural and arts institutions, the National Gallery included, and it will take time for these to return to 2019 levels.
But there is hope on the horizon and art and culture have a vital role to play in the healing of our country. The National Gallery was the first major museum to open after lockdown restrictions were lifted in July 2020, demonstrating its commitment to be part of the nation’s recovery story. As the nation’s gallery, we want to play a full part in this in the future, and to do so, we need to start planning now.’
The overall brief for the project includes sensitive interventions to the Grade I listed Sainsbury Wing, including remodelling the front gates and ground floor entrance sequence; interior works to the lobby and first floor spaces and upgrading visitor amenities; in particular orientation and information; retail and security. As the main entrance to the National Gallery, the Sainsbury Wing requires inspiring spaces that meet the expectations of 21st-century visitors, befitting a world-class institution housing an outstanding collection of art.
The creation of a new Research Centre, likely to be housed in the west wing of the Wilkins Building adjacent to the Sainsbury Wing, will form part of a phase of work. It will support the Galley’s vision of becoming a world leader in research into historic painting and communicate its work as a global thought leader by creating a powerful resource for studies into art history, digital humanities, conservation, and heritage science. It will be a resource for everyone interested in studying art, from students to international academics.
The design brief also allows scope for the reimagining of the relationship between the Gallery and the public realm immediately, from the loggia of the Sainsbury Wing, across Jubilee Walk and along the northern edge of Trafalgar Square to the front of the Wilkins Building. Although limited, the refocusing and strengthening of these spaces would provide greater visibility and presence for the Gallery on Trafalgar Square, while creating a more attractive and enjoyable setting for visitors and the public.
Underpinning the brief is the desire to create healthy, sustainable, and accessible spaces and an environment that is open and inclusive where visitors can relax and reflect as they plan their visit to one of the world’s finest art collections. Following a year of unprecedented challenges due to Covid-19, the National Gallery wants to build on its strength, inventiveness and relevance to play a vital role in the nation’s recovery story. Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said:
‘The National Gallery has been inspiring visitors for almost 200 years, and this innovative project will welcome a new generation of art lovers to its halls. Culture is going to play a central role in the nation’s recovery, with global icons like the National Gallery helping us build back better from the pandemic.’
Paul Gray, the Chief Operating Officer at the National Gallery is leading the selection process. He added: ‘We are looking for a team that can demonstrate exceptional design talent and creative flair. Sensitivity to the heritage of the existing building and its context will be crucial as will the ability to design and deliver complex projects working in collaboration with the client and wider team.
Most importantly, we want to identify people and organisations that excite and inspire us and can open our eyes to the potential of the spaces within the Sainsbury Wing and the public.”
Malcolm Reading, Search Director, and Chairman, Malcolm Reading Consultants, said:
‘The process chosen by the National Gallery is not a conventional design competition seeking design concepts but instead creates the opportunity for much more interaction ‒ something the Gallery values and we know architects appreciate. We welcome both national and international teams. They will need to be exceptional and the international teams will require a UK partner for stage two.’
The deadline for first stage responses is: 2pm GMT Thursday 18 March 2021. Details of how to enter are available at: competitions.malcolmreading.com/nationalgallery
This selection process is being run under the Competitive Procedure with Negotiation in accordance with UK procurement regulations.

This is an art museum on Trafalgar Square in central London. Founded in 1824, it houses a collection of over 2,300 paintings dating from the mid-13th century to 1900. The Gallery is an exempt charity, and a non-departmental public body of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Its collection belongs to the public of the United Kingdom and entry to the main collection is free of charge. It is the fifth most visited art museum in the world, after the Musée du Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the British Museum and Tate Modern.

The present building, the third to house the collection, was designed by architect William Wilkins from 1832–38. Only the façade onto Trafalgar Square remains essentially unchanged from this time, as the building has been expanded piecemeal throughout its history. Wilkins’s building was often criticised for its perceived aesthetic deficiencies and lack of space; the latter problem led to the establishment of the Tate Gallery for British art in 1897. The Sainsbury Wing, an extension to the west by Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, is a notable example of Postmodernist architecture in Britain. Soyurce: wikipedia

The architectural proposal by ABK – for the building that came to be known as the Sainsbury Wing – was infamously described by Prince Charles [May 30, 1984] as being “a monstrous carbuncle on the face of a much-loved and elegant friend”. This helped set up a polarisation in the UK between traditional and contemporary architecture styles and thinking.

ABK’s design for the extension was abandoned.
