Exactly one year ago, on 14/12/2021, the Congolese rumba was inscribed on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage. The cradle of rumba is, of course, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa) and the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), but some important pages of Congolese rumba were also written in our country. The Congolese group Mythique Rumba Congolaise International (MRCI), Mythique Rumba for short, is celebrating in the heart of Matonge and is inviting some of the most prestigious names in rumba for a first “anniversary concert”. Longtime listeners will know that Joby Valente's "Disk la rayé" is a huge favorite of ours, and we got to play it again on @kcsbfm for our dance party show last night. Joby Valente is from Martinique and she got her start as a teacher before shifting to music in the 60s. The song is a cover of "El disco rayado" which has been performed by Johnny Ventura, Roberto Faz, Zafè Chô and others, in Spanish, Creole, maybe more. In addition to her work as a singer, Joby Valente has fought for wider representation of minorities in French media. She co-founded the station Tropic FM and can be seen in the second photo doing her show Zombi Lèvè in 1982. More than twenty Congolese artists-musicians-singers celebrated Patrice Lumumba through the concept of “Rumba Lumumba”.

The songs about Patrice Lumumba, a political giant and lover of music and beauty, were the most frequently sung on the “Congolese Rumba” scene in comparison to those about all of his peers. So the homage being paid to him befitted of the stature of this statesman with a great passion for Congolese culture.

Celebrities including Sam Mangwana, Dizzy Mandjeku, Wuta Mayi, Nyboma and Bumba Massa. The same ones that played and sang alongside the Founding Fathers of classic Congolese Rumba: Kallé, Rochereau, Franco, Bombenga, Essous and Vicky. Såg att det diskuterades en del igår kring min spärr från Himmelriket. Först ska jag poängtera att jag inte längre är nickspärrad. Den varade i ungefär 2 månader (för jag för mig). Men (förhoppningsvis av misstag eller genom en slump) så har jag sedan dess varit IP-spärrad. Så till spekulationerna om vad jag kräkt ut mig för att bli spärrad. Det var inte något i affekt eller "på fyllan". Jag har själv varit nykter i snart 8 år, och det tänker jag förbli livet ut. Det var istället bara en onödig bisats i en helt orelaterad diskussion där jag tog upp profilen som ett exempel, och använde hans (som jag uppfattade det vedertagna) öknamn. Jag förutsatte att alla självklart skulle förstå det som en sarkastisk pik till profilen, eftersom han för mig mest är känd för sina personagrepp på andra och sina egna flerfaldiga domar för grov rattfylla. Saxen valde istället att tolka det som att jag spred rykten om hans sjukdom. Även om profilen själv har förnekat någon bakomliggande sjukdom i intervjuer, så kan jag såhär i backspegeln förstå och hålla med om Saxens resonemang. För mig hade det dock räckt med ett varningens finger eller kanske ett PM för att jag nog aldrig skulle göra om det. Eftersom jag i efterhand sett ytterligare 2 nick bli spärrade för "samma" förseelse så vill jag ändå starkt uppmana alla aktiva skribenter att fortsättningsvis skippa dessa öknamn som baseras på en underliggande sjukdom. Speciellt gäller detta följande 161 skribenter som själva använt samma öknamn på Himmelriket, eller en snarlik variant om någon annan sportprofil:

Fotnot: Jag har bara ytterst snabbt kollat igenom användadet av några utvalda öknamn på 5 utvalda personer som verkar vara extra frekventa. Därtill vet jag ju att det finns betydligt fler inlägg i stil med "släpp flaskan", "sniffat på vinet", "nu är han på det igen", eller samma öknamn fast om mindre kända sportprofiler. Varningen gäller självklart även för dessa fraser och öknamn. Låt bara bli dem! Slutligen så uppskattar jag faktiskt att vara borta lite mer från forumet, så jag vill nog ändå mest tacka saxen. För min största svaghet är min tendens att svara på varenda inlägg jag inte håller med om, vilket kan leda till långa och tradiga flame wars till allas förtret. Nu kan jag istället fokusera mig på att göra det jag älskar mest: Djupdyka i statistik! Det enda jag egentligen saknar är era tummar.
