“Summon Troops Again to Halt Prison Rioting,” Ottawa Citizen. October 21, 1932. Page 13. ---- Convicts in Overflow Dormitory at Portsmouth Cause Fresh Trouble as Mates Howl Approval. ---- Mutineers Overpower Guards; Gunfire Heard --- Order Finally Restored But Double Guard on Duty Throughout the Night. ---- KINGSTON, Ont., Oct., 20 - More than 200 maddened convicts, defiant in the face of machine gun and rifle fire, rioted in open mutiny tonight in Portsmouth penitentiary.
Seven hundred mates howled their approval from the iron-barred, cell block confines of Canada greatest penal institution.
One prisoner fell wounded before the rifle fire of troops summoned for the second time in four day from Kingston barracks by distressed prison officials. Prison authorities, who reported no further injuries, said the man was not seriously hurt.
Climax of three days of unrest since Monday's initial outbreak came when 110 prisoners in an "overflow" dormitory overpowered their 40 guards and released another 110 convicts from two tiers of cells in the "big house."
Bar Prison Approaches At nine o clock tonight all was quiet. Gun fire had ended and the shrieks and yells of convicts were not heard by thousands pressing in on a cordon of troops and police barring every avenue of approach to the prison.
It was believed the 220 rioting convicts by this time had been herded back into their cell and dormitory quarters.
In drizzling rain lashed by a high wind off Lake Ontario, 150 members of the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery joined with guards in the valiant bid to restore order. Floodlights glared and a searchlight cut through streaks of darkness even after bedlam ceased behind the gray walls.
Overcoated and steel-helmeted soldiers paced bark and forth along the top of the walls and a double prison guard was on duty throughout the night. The R C H A. guard on the walls and about the penitentiary, officials stated, will be continued as long as necessary.
The militia, whose withdrawal from the scene of Mondays riot was requested by penitentiary official when prisoners threatened to bum a building where they were barricaded, did not enter the prison proper during today melee.
Troops were first summoned when the "overflow population'' rioted in their cell-less dormitory a few minutes after four o'clock. The mutineers overpowered their unarmed guards, wrecked all furniture within reach and fought to release prisoners confined in the adjoining cell block.
Rushed to the scene in five trucks, the RC.H A. detachment in full field equipment arrived as the "overflow" gang were battering at the cell block doors. Soldiers were established immediately on the prison walls and firing broke out.
Urged on by the maniacal howls of their prison mates, the "overflow" mob Ignored the overhead rifle fire and finally succeeded in freeing 110 fellow convicts with keys secured from the helpless guards.
At this stage, the firing reached the peak of its intensity and the one casualty of the riot occurred. Three truck loads of machine guns were rushed from Kingston barracks. By the time they arrived, the guards appeared to be getting the upper hand and the firing died clown to a few spasmodic bounds.
Beyond the walls of the prison, where excited crowds huddled in the rainy cold, police and soldiers pressed farther and farther back the circle of spectators. Militia trucks dashed back and forth with food and supplies.
Shortly after eight o'clock, Rev. W. T. Kingsley. prison chaplain, walked out from the main gate of the penitentiary and hurried up the street. He refused to discuss the rioting.
"I have absolutely nothing to say." Father Kingsley said, his face lined with anxiety. "I cannot discuss today's events at all."
Official word went out from the prison at 10 o'clock that complete quiet prevailed.
No Guards Injured. To the Canadian Press, Brig -Gen. D. M. Ormond, Dominion superintendent of penitentiaries, said:
"Every prisoner was under control at all times during the disturbance today. What rioting there was, was caused by the overflow prisoners in the corridors, and they never got outside those corridor. They did some damage to furniture and fixtures, but at no time did they reach outside of the corridors. Despite rumors to the contrary no guards were injured."
Brigadier Ormond has been in Kingston since Monday conducting an inquiry into the previous outbreak.
It is believed in official quarters that, demands made by prisoners for a full investigation of their grievances concerning recreation and the issue of cigaret papers was but subterfuge.
Only four prisoners appeared today to make complaints after it had been announced ail those who had complaints would be heard. The superintendent was told the prisoners did not intend to go on with their statements.
Three Grievances. Three grievances are listed by officials as origins of the smouldering resentment among prisoners at Portmouth. These are:
Refusal of prison officers to issue cigaret papers with the regular tobacco rations.
Lack of daily newspapers for use of the prisoners.
Dissatisfaction at insufficient hours of recreation in the penitentiary workshops.
Prisoners released recently, however, have brought forth a long list of complaints which they charge have long caused bitter feelings. These include charges of poor food rations, anger at treatment accorded "preferred class" prisoners in the penitentiary adjunct at Collin's Bay and, according to one prisoner, just out after a year and a half, the non-fulfillment of a rumor among the inmates that on September 15, a one-third reduction in sentences was to have been announced.
Portsmouth penitentiary celebrates its centenary wish the worst riots in its history. The grey tone pile beside Lake Ontario was 100 years old on June 4 of this year.
It is understood the prison was built to accommodate about 700 prisoners, while at present 906 are known to be within the walls. Many of the "over-flow " are forced to sleep on beds in the cell-block corridors and the rioters today were among the "over-flow."
There is a women's prison inside the walls of the main penitentiary, but a new women's penitentiary Is now under construction by prisoners of the main prison, and this will provide more accommodation for male prisoners soon.
GUTHRIE IN CLOSE TOUCH One prisoner only was hit as a result of some filing by the guards at 6 30 last night to overawe the convicts participating in the revolt at Portsmouth penitentiary. The man was only "slightly" injured In the shoulder. Hon. Hugh Guthrie, minister of justice, gave this information tonight following further long distance telephone calls with Kingston.
Prisoners in two tiers of cells managed to secure liberation before the firing occurred. Added to the dormitory inmates, numbering 110 and comprising the "overflow population" of the penitentiary, the number of prisoners actively involved in the disturbance now totals 220.
The remaining 700 prisoners are still confined in their cells, the minister said. The Royal Canadian Horse Artillery is upon guard on the walls around the penitentiary but are not in the buildings. This guard will be continued as long as it is necessary, the minister of justice declared.
The tumult seemed to have quieted down at the moment. Mr. Guthrie said, but Superintendent Ormond was taking every precaution against an outbreak later on.
The minister is keeping in closest touch with developments by long distance telephone.
Sequence of Events In Prison Trouble (Canadian Press) Following Is the sequence of events in the renewed outbreak of rioting at Portsmouth penitentiary, Thursday, so far as could be ascertained from official and unofficial reports.
4:10 p.m. - Muffled explosion and several shots heard within penitentiary.
4:15 p.m. - Call sent In by prison officials for aid of troops.
4:25 p.m. - Detachment of Royal Canadian Horse Artillery with full motor-truck.
4:30 p.m. - Spasmodic firing broke out. Ring of soldiers established on prison walls.
5:45 p.m. - Heavy firing heard.
6:30 p.m. - One prisoner wounded by rifle fire. 6:45 p.m. - Three truckloads of machine guns rushed from Kingston barracks.
7 p.m. - Intermittent firing continued.
8 p.m. - Rev. W. T. Kingsley. prison chaplain, left penitentiary.
9 p.m. - All quiet.
Photo Caption: Portsmouth Penitentiary, Scene of Riots, and Some of Noted Inmates  --- Above is seen a general view of Portsmouth penitentiary, outside Kingston, Ont. the scene of serious uprisings of prisoners. The fact that they were not given cigaret papers with which to smoke their prison tobacco rations was cited by recently-released inmates as one of the chief grievances of the prisoners. This and confinement in 'the hole' or solitary confinement, as punishment, are said by these ‘outsiders' to have led to the first outbreak, which was quelled only after military units were called in from Kingston. Rioting started again Thursday evening but was said to be under control. A number of inmates of the penitentiary, who achieved prominence at the time of their conviction, are shown: (2) "Two-gun" O’Brien, armed robber; (3) Tim Buck, former leading member of the Communist Party of Canada; (4) ‘Red’ Ryan, noted bandit who is serving a life term; (5) Sydney Lass, payroll robber; (6) Wm. Murrell, armed robber.
[AL: Some aspects of this coverage are fairly accurate, including the many grievances of the prisoners and the refusal to participate in the investigation precipitating a second riot, though the overflow dorm was not what broke out of their cells, and the riot started in the Prison of Isolation and moved outward. There was a lot of shooting, and one seriously injured inmate, though dozens of others were injured.]

The Hall Bradford-on-avon
Hi guys!!
I'm sharing The Hall Bradford-on-avon. This is the 12th building for my English Collection.
History of the house: The Hall was built around 1610 for John Hall, a wealthy mill owner, and is at the east end of the town. The Hall family of Bradford can be traced back to at least the 13th century, under the name of "De Aulâ" or "De la Sale" (salle being french for hall). John Hall's grandson, also named John Hall, had no legitimate children and left his estate to his great-niece Rachel Baynton. She later married William Pierrepont, who became Duke of Kingston-upon-Hull, giving the house its alternate names. After the second Duke died without issue, the house was sold to Thomas Divett, in 1802, who established a woollen mill, and sublet the house, which fell into disrepair. In 1848, the house was sold to Stephen Moulton, who undertook major restorations. During the restoration, many old documents were discovered, which were catalogued by Canon J.E.Jackson.

Functionality
These mods are not technically in the build but are needed to have mods (syboulette's crossfit and aira's rice cooker specifically) functional.
ZulfAndHakrabr: Let's Get Fits Modpack Ricky: Useable RiceCooker
Vehicles
Technically, the two vehicles used for this build use the the Breeze Motors 2018 Mercedes E-Class Wagon and the 2020 Maserati Quattroporte as their base. I won't link to the download page as its a perma-paywaller and I fundamentally disagree with how Breeze Motors is handling their patreon personally. I will leave it to you to decide if you want their CC and how you acquire it if you choose to do so.
For my personal game, I have edited and stripped down my copies of these two cars and modified them so that they work with Simnation Travel. I have a pinned patreon post that is not paywall locked here explaining that more in depth and include the required files HERE.
If you go that route, and would like to download the cars, you can find them here:
Maserati Quattroporte
Mercedes E-Class
I should note that in addition to lacking the door open /close options of the original as those were stripped down, the textures were redone with simlish for a more maxis match look in game.
Mods for this Build
These are not technically required for the build to function but this build was built using overrides for both Sim Realist's SNB Bills mod as well as Simnation Travel vehicles. You shouldn't get any weird errors if you load the build in without those mods but if there's an exception caught by MCC related to that, it's probably just reconciling that the override the lot was built with is not in place in your game. It should only be a one time alert the first time the game loads in if it happens and should not cause any issue other than MCC making a noise at you about it noticing weirdness.
(The SNB provides the High Speed Internet trait to the lot and I think it will just set that trait to empty if its loaded without but I haven't personally confirmed it, hence the note here. ) Additional Note
I'm pushing this to live today just to make sure it hits my tumblr the same time as I pushed the build to my gallery but I will be going back to add links into the list. There are just a LOT to track down and it might take me a day or two to finish that part.

When I saw BSE arrive in Palm Springs I assumed Blake was on it. Didn’t look at anything after that till today because like you I’m not a fan of the music they’ve had on so far on the Coachella Live. I immediately saw Kingston and Lola are there just now when I saw their posts from last night’s shows. But haven’t seen anything showing Blake is there. He’s sent flowers plenty of times when he is there so that doesn’t say No to me. I’m seeing all the people saying he’s not there but I can’t imagine why the plane would have gone there without him on it. I originally thought I would try to watch the No Doubt live feed but I don’t think I want to do that after all. Not a No Doubt fan and only became a Gwen fan after she went solo and a bigger fan when she started on the Voice and then a Shefani fan because I was already a huge Blake fan. Now I’m still obsessed with them. Are you going to watch the Live and what are your thoughts on him being there?
Until I see otherwise I say he is there! He likes to stay under the radar all the time, this is to special to Gwen for him to not be there.
Gwen now teasing a special guest while it could be that person she did collab with can't even think of his name or the song that's how far off my radar all that is would not really be surprised to see Blake step out to do PI it is her current single out, bet may be a bit awkward with the guys with what they have implied about Blake but hey who knows its Gwen anything can happen!
rumor mill says it will Olivia Rodrigo, another artist I do not like at all so I hope not but again it is Gwen anything can happen
she collabs with many I do not like
it is what it is
just saying

SHAFIA FAMILY MURDERS
30 June 2009, Canada
HONOUR KILLING
The Shafia family took place in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The victims were sisters Zainab, 19, Sahar, 17 and Geeti, 13 as well as their stepmother, Rona Muhammad Omar, 52. The victims were found deceased inside a car which was discovered underwater. They were killed by their father Mohammad Shafia, brother Hamed, 20 and mother Tooba Mohammad Yahya.
Shafia and Tooba also had three other children. Rona was the first wife of Shafia; she was infertile and had to live in a polygamous home with his wife Tooba.
Tooba had seven children and Rona raised them and had a strong bond with them. The family left Afghanistan in 1992 and moved to Australia and later moved to United Arab Emirates. Shafia made a fortune in Dubai working in a car company and then real estate and became a multimillionaire and settled in Canada in 2007. Rona was in a loveless marriage, and was abused by her husband and wanted a divorce. Rona was treated like a servant and a slave by Shafia and Tooba, who kept her passport from her. Her family stated that Rona feared for her life. The oldest daughter, Zainab fell in love with a Pakistani boy which made her father angry, so much so, he threatened her.
In June 2009, a worker at Kingston Mills locks found a black car in the water, divers found four victims inside. Hamed had earlier reported an accident with a different vehicle belonging to the family in an empty parking lot that morning. It was believed the car in the parking lot was the same vehicle that pushed the black car into the water. The four women were locked inside the vehicle and drowned as a result.  It was believed that they were murdered due to the four victims bringing shame onto the family through their relationships as well as wanting more freedom.
In July 2009, Mohammad Shafia, Tooba and Hamed were arrested on charges of murder under the guise of honour killing. They were found guilty in 2012. The surviving children of Shafia and Tooba were placed in the care of social services.

"During the panic of the fall of 1939, the RCMP began harassing communists, arresting them for violating Defence of Canada Regulations (DOCR) regulations 39 and 39A, even before the Party published its position against Canadian participation in the war.
On September 9, Philip and Gordon Tonner, from Toronto, were arrested for distributing Party materials. The court quickly threw out the case against the two men. The Party published its position against Canadian participation in the war on October 14, 1939. On November 10, the RCMP arrested 23, including ten in Montreal, for distributing communist documents. The Canadian Press reported on November 13 that four more communists in Toronto, eight more in Montreal, as well as one man in Lacombe, Alberta were arrested and charged for having distributed anti-war flyers. On November 21, the Canadian Press reported that Douglas Stewart, business manager of the communist newspaper, Clarion, was sentenced to two years of imprisonment for printing the Comintern statement of opposition to  participation in the war. In Oshawa, an ex-soldier, Frank Towers, was sentenced to three months imprisonment for having sold Clarion, even before it had been banned along with its French-language equivalent, Clarté.
Most of these cases were thrown out of court, although some did receive sentences of up to six months in prison and fines of $500. Four communists were arrested for violating regulation 39, or for merely saying things that police judged to be dangerous to the security of the state or the prosecution of the war. Nick Tuchinsky, from Tilsonbury, Ontario and Alfred Neal, from Kingston, were arrested in December, 1940, but each case ended in acquittal. Nevertheless, two men from Kirkland Lake, Ontario, B. L. McMillan and Charles Stewart, each received sentences of three months and fines of $200 for having expressed sentiments judged to be dangerous or subversive. Four people were accused of having distributed Party newspapers, and twenty-one were charged with possession of communist documents, while eight Winnipegers were arrested for being Party members. The most common reason for arrest was distribution of subversive flyers, for which 44 were charged.
Most cases were thrown out of court for insufficient evidence. In fact, this was the case for twelve women from across Canada, while Olive Swankey, wife of Hull internee Ben Swankey, was held for ten days of interrogation in Edmonton, then released without being charged. Hull internee Charles Weir was arrested for distributing anti-war literature, but was freed since there were no witnesses, only to be soon interned. Another Hull internee, Patrick Lenihan, a Calgary alderman, was acquitted by jury of having expressed statements likely to cause disaffection to His Majesty, only to be interned soon after.
Not all was failure for the authorities when charging communists for specific offences. Nine women were successfully charged, including three in Manitoba and four in Saskatchewan, where authorities seemed to be more successful in prosecuting precise offences. The unfortunate Annie Buller and Margaret Mills each received sentences of two years, while Ida Corley received a sentence of one year. All were from Winnipeg, while Regina resident Gladys McDonald was imprisoned for a year, followed by fourteen months of internment, making her the only communist woman to be interned during World War II.
Two cases of imprisonment in Manitoba deserve special mention. In the fall of 1940, Mitch Sago, a Ukrainian community leader, and Tom McEwen, a member of the political bureau of the Party, were charged with being members of the Party. On November 8, 1940, Sago and McEwen were tried and sentenced to two years less a day of hard labour at the provincial jail in Headingly. Nowhere was hard labour to be found within the DOCR, therefore, on October 10, 1941, McEwen and Sago applied for habeas corpus on the grounds that the original magistrate had exceeded the law with the hard labour sentence. Justice Donovan of the Manitoba Supreme Court agreed and granted Sago and McEwen their freedom, however, on September 9, 1941, Justice minister Lapointe had issued an order for internment, which took effect immediately after the men’s liberation from Headingly, whereupon they were interned in Hull. Internment was to prove a much more useful tool for repressing communists, as opposed to imprisonment for specific offences, especially after the Party was made illegal in June, 1940.
Approximately two-thirds of those detained were held using articles 21 and 39C of the DOCR read together. The official history of the Communist Party of Canada cites that “according to the Canadian Civil Liberties Union, 64 persons had been arrested by the end of February, 1940, of which nineteen received prison terms ranging from one month to two years, while the rest were fined amounts ranging from $1 to $500.”

9. A song that makes you want to cry
Moon, a hole of light Through the big top tent up high Here before and after me Shinin' down on me
Moon, tell me if I could Send up my heart to you? So, when I die, which I must do Could it shine down here with you?
'Cause my love is mine, all mine I love mine, mine, mine Nothing in the world belongs to me But my love mine, all mine, all mine
My baby, here on earth Showed me what my heart was worth So, when it comes to be my turn Could you shine it down here for her?
'Cause my love is mine, all mine I love mine, mine, mine Nothing in the world belongs to me But my love mine, all mine Nothing in the world is mine for free But my love mine, all mine, all mine
To burn it like cedar I request another dream I need a forest fire
To burn it like cedar I request another dream I need a forest fire
I'm saved by nature But it always forgets what I need I hope you'll stop me before I build a world around me
We need a forest fire We need a forest fire We need a forest fire We need a forest fire
You're thicker than you think You know that money bought your name Caution, swelling, can I repay you with some blame?
If anyone should try and find me Just know I'm where I wanna be I left the house all clean and tidy Don't come searchin', please
I've made my way down to the forest Way down to the sea of trees (the sea of trees) The eagle grows, it gets enormous And then it has to bleed
All the way out All the way out On my way out I found a way out Up in a tree Up in a tree Could you believe it? Wouldn't you believe
Hell is not a place Hell is not a certain evil Hell is other people Or the lack thereof And their lack of love And their lack of love
I tried, but my feet kept touchin' the ground (touch the ground) If I died, would it even make a sound in the sea of trees? (sea of trees) No need to bother lookin' for me Don't come, don't come, don't come searchin' for me You don't get to die until you get it right, you said I envy the dead, yeah
