opening with irulan's narration to mirror her notes in the openings of the chapters of the book. oh yeah baby. i ate that right up

watching paul get close with the fremen,,,,, fucking hell that hurts. dune really is a tragedy at the end of the day huh. they go from reluctant allies to friends but the whole time you know the switch will happen any moment now and they will be devotees and he will be messiah and that gap between them will never be as small as it is out in the sand. huddled in those tents. sharing drinks and laughs. im not doing ok

this especially hurts with chani. their love is so genuine and pure and she wears blue for him (which by the way sticks out so much more with how muted the colors of the rest of the movie are... i could talk about this all day) but she can see what he is becoming and he's trying to avoid it for her so hard but there's no avoiding fate. LORD ABOVE!!!!

i loveeee jessica being the manipulator thats pulling all the strings, urging paul towards becoming messiah. rebecca ferguson is such a talented actress she really understands the character so well. also as a hashtag certified alia atreides enjoyer her scheming with her unborn fetus might be the most unhinged thing ever but thats also so fucking funny aka its as dune as it gets. dune is WEIRD and im glad theyre not shying away from that. thank u denis

arrakis looks so much more beautiful in this movie like theres defo been some changes with how its framed and presented it feels so much grander and idk just ??? what it makes me think is that we're not seeing arrakis, we're finally seeing dune. we're seeing the land as the fremen see it as paul becomes one of them. i might be looking too much into it but who cares. god i love this movie

but yes more on the fremen in the first section of the movie. i like how there's this cluster of non-believers almost?? its a nice breath of fresh air. its hard to believe every single person would be just devoted to the prophecy and it adds some depth.

i will say the one thing i didnt like is the way stilgar is characterized?? i dont think he was so blindly devoted to paul in the books, and definitely not alia and leto ii after him as the atreides line went on. he's always been a source of small doubt towards paul but i think they're moving that element of him onto chani, so i think i can let it slide. i'd like to see him question alia more in the future though.

the scene where paul was named muad'dib and usul??? god it was so cute which made it so heart wrenching. all the fremen coming together and welcoming him into their lives. as a brother. as a friend. only for him to turn around and make them all bow before him. ohhhhh i cant do this

the way jessica is so quick to switch up and go all in on the prophecy. it makes me think of leto's "im not asking his mother, im asking the bene gesserit" like. the bene gesserit really come first for jessica and she takes her opportunity to fulfill her duties. to be the reverend mother. to rub it all in the faces of the other bene gesserit. she is the mother of the messiah and by god will she make everyone well aware of that

stellan skarsgård's baron harkonnen is already such a threatening figure it feels like it would be impossible to make someone even more terrifying and yet. AND YET

just the way he's introduced. killing servants with zero remorse. LICKING THAT KNIFE THE WAY HE DID??? OKAY WHORE. I SEE YOU. GO RIGHT AHEAD. MAKE IT SLUTTY IN HOUSE HARKONNEN. I RESPECT IT

when the arena doors open and that loud ass fucking music BOOMS. makes the room fucking SHAKE. thats a PRESENCE right there. THATS how you introduce your antagonist.

the music playing as he fights being as fucking deranged as he is. chaotic and weird and unsettling. just. oh my god feyd had such a presence from the moment he showed up and he did not lose it for a single second. you could feel him LOOMING over the movie the whole time just as he looms over the whole book from his very first scene. oh my goddddd oh my godd

GEIDI PRIME. THE ARENA. THAT MASSIVE HARKONNEN PALACE. oh my god. once more. that sense of scale. the harkonnens love to flaunt their wealth so ofc they have huge fuck off arenas and castles where everything and everyone feels so SMALL in comparison.

dont even get me started on the black and white. the way it accents those coal black teeth and mouths. the way it makes everything look so much more inhuman and clinical and PERFECT because harkonnen power is so absolute and ruthless.

and the way the baron sits so so high above watching the fighting. literally impossible to picture his elevation above his people above the rest of the universe. the way feyd looks to him for approval after every movement. even as his uncle is trying to kill him they exchange those little looks and feyd knows hes getting his chance to show off while the baron gives him his "gift" what a fucked up family what the hell

speaking of fucked up family! wow! they are SO fucked up! there is something seriously strange being hinted at with feyd and the baron! feyd making his own brother bow and kiss his boot! those constant threats of death against rabban as if theyre nothing! this family is capital f FUCKED up. they hurt each other as much as they hurt everyone around them. theyre made of violence and blood and they could never show each other kindness because they dont know such a thing

what can i say about the feyd/margot scenes that hasnt been said already. like wow just unpack the boy's trauma like that. use him and then throw him to the wolves. once again the bene gesserit make it so clear this is THEIR empire and THEIR bloodlines and THEIR messiah. too bad jessica doesnt see that collective "ours" and instead settles for "mine" when it comes to the messiah

special shout out to dave bautista before i move on. just cause. his rabban doesnt get enough love. he really sells that balance of ruthless power but also incompetency compared to his brother so well. can you guys tell i REALLY like this cast

i already talked so much about feyd's presence so just another small note. that scene in sietch tabr. he is a MONSTER and i am EATING IT UP

i cant even begin to explain. how much it fucked me up. when paul took the water of life. i knew thats where we were going. i knew it was unavoidable. and yet still. when chani bent over him and screamed at everyone for making him follow this prophecy. when she was forced to shed tears to save his life. when she got him back only to realize she lost him and he wasnt the person she loved anymore. it broke me

chani's utter hatred for the prophecy and what paul is becoming added to it so much. i know some people are unhappy with how much shes been changed from the books but i think its elevated her character and all these scenes so much. and oh my god does zendaya DELIVER when the spotlight is on her. i never doubted her for a moment but all those changes to chani really allowed to let her shine. thats that euphoria acting coming out baby !!!!

he was such a perfect paul already in the first movie but this was the moment it really came out. the way he wakes up so calm and collected. lifeless. monotone. theres nothing theres literally nothing

paul atreides the boy who became duke far too young is dead usul who was the lover of chani is dead muad'dib the fedaykin fighter is dead only the kwisatz haderach remains and thats what the prophecy was always leading us to and yet the moment it happens its so haunting

like i cannot say this enough. that complete switch is so sudden but so subtle at the same time. its still paul technically but hes so different

what makes dune's weird concepts so easy to take in once you get into the book is all that internal monologue that really leads you through these complex concepts slowly. and yet in a few shots and a few lines of dialogue timothee chalamet somehow manages to express the idea of "i just learned the secrets of the fucking universe and im about to start a holy war" ???? HOW DO YOU EVEN DO THIS???? HOW ARE YOU THIS TALENTED???? OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! IT WAS A FEW LOOKS A FEW MOVENTS JUST THE RIGHT TONE OF VOICE AND THATS HIM!!! THATS HIM BABY!!!! when paul storms the war council and just completely takes control of the room so easily. thats the bene gesserit conditioning giving him his pedestal and he is making the most of it. he knows exactly what the fuck hes doing. and once more oh my goddddd all that shouting all that emotion and yet a complete lack of it. timothee spare a crumb of talent for the rest of us

also the way in that scene gurney is hesitant about it all until paul proclaims himself the duke of arrakis. and suddenly gurney has house atreides again and he doesnt care what chani does anymore. hes a follower to paul just as everyone else in that room. nothing changes. fuck me man i cant do this anymore

have i mentioned yet im so excited for chani in the next movie. her arc is so interesting. children of dune is defo not happening with the way chani has been set up so i doubt we'll see leto ii and ghanima but. lets hope we still get all the cool stuff wit alia at least. and maybe chani can be the one who leads the charge against her

okay so. the way theres no music. no fancy cuts no slow mo no over the top effects. its just the slashing of the blades and those BEAUTIFUL shadowed shots with the setting sun in the background. this really is the sun setting on the peaceful universe. just pain and suffering ahead marked with the blood spilled from the two who were meant to produce the messiah but who both got thrown off this path by the greed and selfishness of their forefathers. guys im normal about paul and feyd. definitely. i definitely have very normal thoughts about how they are foils and yet two sides of the same coin. yes guys

paul making the emperor kiss his ring is already such an insane fucking scene and it translated to the screen so well. amazing performances all around

i didnt talk much about florence pugh's irulan but she really didnt have much time to shine. im excited to see where she goes next and i definitely think shes a great fit but i need to see more of her to really be able to say more

i will say this. the way chani, irulan and jessica are the only ones who dont kneel for paul. the three most important women in his life who give him his power, everything he has. jessica made him and she made him the messiah. chani opened her life up to him, helped him become and in turn control the fremen, and she shed her tears for him and fulfilled her role in the prophecy against her wishes. irulan is his path to the throne, his key to being emperor. and none of them bow before him because why would they bow before a power they are responsible for, a power they own, a power they gave?

but for chani its different ofc. she also refuses to bow because she despises everything paul stands for.

oh my god i could say so much about the last scene being chani. not paul reveling in his victory. paul leaves for his next bloodshed and chani is left behind crying for the person she loves who she knows is gone. crying for her people, again enslaved. crying those same tears that brought the messiah back into this world.

theres a lot to be said about the role of gender in dune and how it hangs over every facet of this world but thats a whole separate analysis post to be had so ill just throw it down here in this little point

another thing chani does very well in the movies is she really makes paul's villainy explicitly clear. SO many people read dune and completely misunderstand it and walk away from it concluding its a "white savior narrative" and nothing more which. yes!! yes it is!!!! but thats not a good thing!!!! its never stated to be a good thing!!!!

this movie is not gonna let you misunderstand the message of the story no matter how blind you try to be to it. paul is not a good guy. hes never been the good guy. hes the protagonist, but hes not the hero. and chani allows that to translate from book to movie very well. have i mentioned yet i love movie chani

chani fills in the holes left behind by the narration and internal monologues of the book and, bonus points, she holds the people who dont understand what dune is about by the hand and tells them explicitly "PAUL IS A BAD GUY!!! DONT IDOLIZE PAUL!!!! DONT WALK AWAY FROM DUNE THINKING ITS PRAISING PAUL'S ACTIONS!!!"

i think thats pretty much all i had to say. i might reblog with additions as they hit me but yeah i. i enjoyed the movie. so so much. i think i might watch it again sometime soon while its still in cinemas.

Once the two of you were inside you greeted a happy Magnus who wagged and snorted at the sight of his two favorite humans.

Tossing your gear to the side you made your way to the kitchen to grab all of the needed ingredients to make your killer three cheese blend grilled cheese for the both of you.

You had finished it up pretty quickly while Austin was in the living room picking his choice of movie.

Turned out he wanted to watch the nineteen ninety nine version of Romeo and Juliet, which also happened to be the version BAZ directed.

“ A throwback. I remember when this came out. My sister and her friends went to go see it in theaters. My mom took them.” He recalled as you set the plates of grilled cheese and chips on the coffee table.

“ Thank you, baby. “ Austin pressed a kiss to the temple when you finally sat down.

You mumbled a quick “ You’re welcome.” Before snuggling up into his chest just enough so you both could still comfortably devour your food.

It wasn’t until you’d gotten to the part of Mercuatio’s long and terribly drawn out death scene that Austin was the first to speak.

“ Hey.” He spoke.

"the names kaveh, what's yours may i ask?" a smile was plastered on kaveh's lips.

it was the first day you went into the academia, the environment feels so different here than it was in mondstatd. the hallway is packed with students and you were there, walking by yourself, not knowing where to go.

thankfully a guy bump into you while you were not looking, "ouch, sorry" you apologized and look to the classes to search for your class "it's fine, i should be the one apologizing anyway.. you looking for someone?" he asked

you averts your gaze towards him "no,, i'm looking for my class"

"well what class are you looking for?" you tell him the specified class

"i might say it's your lucky day girlie, that's my class , let's go, i'll show you the way" the guy starts guiding you towards your class

Why So Serious? {Norman, Ray, and Emma}

A/N: back at it again with the gifs! they’re so cute, i love themmmm also thank you so so much for the request, I’m so excited to finally write a fic for tpn! I love Ray sm, he definitely deserves a lot of tickles! i feel like this one is a bit sloppy, i just got really excited writing for it nfdjd sorry about that. anyways, I hope you enjoy this one~!

Summary: Ray, Emma, and Norman have been plotting to escape the orphanage with the other children. But when Ray’s been acting too serious about it, Emma and Norman decide to teach him a lesson.

“Ray, would you get your nose out of that book already?” Emma whined, laying on her tummy across from Ray, her head propped up on her elbows as she kicked her legs, bored.

“I need to see if there’s anything important in here to help us escape, Emma. This is a book from Minerva,” Ray said, flipping another page, completely ignoring Emma and Norman.

Emma pouted and looked over at Norman, who shrugged. She sighed, rolling onto her back as she looked up at the blue sky, clouds flying by overhead.

They had been planning their escape from the orphanage for a while now, but they were still trying to figure out what exactly the books left by William Minerva meant. They hadn’t made much progress in that regard, but they felt like they were at least getting a little bit closer.

Ray continued to scan the book, flipping the pages slowly and inspecting every inch of it that he could find. He sighed when he didn’t find anything interesting or that stood out on that page, and quickly turned to the next one, holding it close to his face in case he missed anything.

“You should put the book down, you’ve been reading for hours now,” Norman finally piped in, sitting next to Ray. He leaned over and looked at what Ray was reading, Ray finally looking up from the book to glance at Norman.

“Can I see it?” He asked, and Ray handed him the book, leaning back against the tree as he crossed his arms. Emma crawled over and peeked at the book as well, but quickly turned her attention back to Ray, pouting her lip out as she shoved his knee.

“You’re being too serious! It’s important that we escape, but we can’t let Mama find out. If you keep acting like you are she might figure out we’re up to something!”

“I’m acting like I normally do,” Ray said simply, glancing back at the book. He gestured for it and Norman handed it back after scanning the pages, Ray quickly going back to reading it.

Norman looked over at Emma who still looked pensive, and Norman sighed.

“Emma’s right, you’re acting way too serious,” Norman said, quietly sneaking up next to Ray, who was still leaning against the tree, completely absorbed in the book.

“What am I supposed to do, act like a total goofball like Emma?”

“Hey!”

Norman chuckled and Emma glared at him, Norman quickly halting his chuckles. They all sat in silence for a few moments, the only sound was the occasional turn of a page from the book. The other children from the orphanage ran around near them, laughing and having a fun time, completely unaware of the reality of their situation.

An idea creeped into Norman’s head after a while, and he grinned. He looked at Ray, who was nose-deep in the book and then looked at Emma, waving slightly to get her attention. Emma looked at Norman with curiosity as he gestured to Ray.

“Follow my lead,” He said, and Ray looked up from the book to glance over at Norman, who quickly pounced on the dark-haired boy, the book flying in the other direction.

“What - Hey, what are you doing!?”

They wrestled for a moment, Emma watching from the side, frantic and concerned at Norman’s sudden attack on Ray. She was surprised, however, when Ray’s laughter suddenly echoed around them.

She finally realized exactly what Norman was doing and her face lit up. Ray squirmed beneath Norman, who had his arms pinned to his chest as he scribbled his fingers up Ray’s sides, making him shriek with uncharacteristically loud laughter.

“N-Normahahahahahan! Stop it!” He wailed, squeaking when Emma ran over and latched her hands on his hips.

“Ehehehehehehemma!”

Ray covered his face in embarrassment, he would never get used to being tickled by his family. Norman snuck his hand under Ray’s arm, making him squeak.

“Stop covering your face!” Emma said, shoving one of her hands underneath Ray’s arm as well, her and Norman successfully making him bring his hands down as he tried to get their mischievous hands away from one of his worst spots.

They pulled away from Ray’s underarms, now going after new spots as Ray tried to keep both of them from tickling him, but to no avail.

“This is what happens when you’re too serious! Tickle tickle!” Emma teased, squeezing Ray’s hips as Norman danced his along Ray’s ribs. Ray clamped his arms down and tried to swat at Emma’s hands, but he could only do so much to protect himself against his ticklers.

Norman and Emma laughed along with Ray, it was always fun to see how sensitive he was to tickling. He was easily the most ticklish out of the three, and once they had discovered that, tickle attacks and tickle fights had become rather common between the trio. Ray was often the main victim of tickle attacks, much to his dismay.

Some of the other kids began to gather around at the sound of Ray’s almost yelling laughter as it echoed throughout the whole area.

“We’ll stop if you promise to get your nose out of that stupid book, right Emma?”

“Yup!”

“I-It’s not stuhuhuhuhuhupid! It’s importahahahahahant!” Ray wailed.

“Hey Ray, what happens when I tickle you… here?” Norman asked, fluttering his fingers against Ray’s neck, making him squeal and scrunch up his shoulders, Norman laughing along with Ray.

“Oh wow, you’re super ticklish here!” Norman teased, smiling widely as Ray shrieked, his face bright red from laughing and embarrassment.

Norman used his other hand to dig under Ray’s arm, making him clamp his arms down as Emma skittered her fingers all over his tummy. Ray arched his back as he cackled madly, squirming from side to side as he tried to fend off the horrible sensations.

“Geez, Ray seems more ticklish than last time,” Emma said, and Ray kicked his leg as she squeezed his knee.

“N-Nohohohot as much as y-you! Dihihihihihimwit!” Ray said, still cackling.

Emma gasped offendedly and Norman clicked his tongue, burying both hands under Ray’s arms again as Ray arched his back, squealing.

“Now now, Ray… You’re awfully cocky for someone who’s so ticklish. Especially considering what position you’re in right now~” Norman teased, wiggling his fingers around in an agonizingly ticklish way as Ray could do nothing but laugh, so hysterical at this point that he couldn’t even get a word out.

Emma pouted, still mad that Ray had called her a dimwit and she glanced towards his flailing legs. An idea popped into her head as she grinned, quickly running over to Ray’s legs.

“Dohohohohohon’t you dahahare! Emma!” Ray yelled, kicking his legs around and almost kicking Emma in the face. She dodged quickly and grabbed his ankles, sitting down on his shins.

“Hey Ray, I heard you liked eggs for breakfast!” She said, confusing both Ray and Norman.

“Whahahahahat the hehehehell do you m-mean?” 

Emma balled up her fist and tapped his against Ray’s kneecap, then spread her fingers out slowly and ticklishly across. Ray tried to kick his legs around to avoid the tickles coming from Emma, but it was impossible with her sitting on his legs.

She squeezed the upper part of his knees now, and Ray just bucked as much as he could without hurting Emma. Norman continued to tickle Ray as well, skittering his fingers across his neck and then darting back under his arms, always keeping him guessing with a few occasional rib tickles or tummy pokes.

Ray’s face was bright red now, and tears were starting to prickle to corners of his eyes. His voice was almost hoarse from laughing, and some of the other orphanage kids were cheering around them as they watched Ray get tickled to pieces.

“Get him, Emma!” Don yelled as he walked by with Gilda, who looked over at the trio, obviously concerned. However, she continued on with Don, a few of the other children tagging along behind them as they went off to play a game.

Ray was embarrassed beyond belief. Here he was, getting the snot tickled out of him by his best friends in front of the other kids… He was never gonna live this one down.

Ray’s laughter eventually went silent and a tear was trickling down his cheek by the time Norman realized that they probably needed to stop.

“Emma, I think he’s had enough,” Norman said, quickly stopping his tickling. Ray continued to shake with laughter, as Emma kept scribbling under his knee.

“Emma,” Norman said, louder this time and Emma immediately halted, noticing the state Ray was in. She chuckled nervously as she got off his legs, crawling over next to Norman as they watched Ray panting.

“I-I hahahate you guys,” He said, some residual giggles still escaping his lips. Emma and Norman looked at each other and giggled.

“We love you too Ray.”

Word Count: 1.4k Prompt: “Alone in a cabin in the woods and there are strange noises outside.” Requested by: Anonymous a/n: Gosh it’s been so long since I wrote Valdryn.  I missed themmmm.  Thank you for the request!

“Jesus V, look at this place,” Aev exclaimed, throwing her arms open wide as she circled herself, gaping up at the massive -- if you could even call it a cabin -- cabin.

“You like it?” he asked, a pleased grin crossing his face as he followed her in, carrying their luggage.

“It’s amazing!” she exclaimed with a laugh, practically running up the stairs to the loft overhead.

“Only the best for you, dove,” Valdo replied, leaving their suitcases by the door to ascend the stairs after his wife, finding her already sprawled out on the massive bed, a content smile on her face, her messy curls disheveled around her head like a halo.

“It’s too perfect, I might never want to leave,” she teased as Valdo crawled across the thick comforter to her, caging her in with his arms as he leaned over her for a kiss, his hands beginning to wander.

“Mmm me either,” he admitted, grinning against her lips, kissing her languidly before pulling back.

“Why don’t you get settled in while I get a fire going and start on dinner,” Valdo suggested, much to his wife’s dismay, judging by the soft whine that left her lips, followed by an adorable pout.  “Hush now,” Valdo chuckled, giving her one more peck to the lips, “we’ll have all night for that, pet.”

His words seemed to mollify Aevryn and she bounced off the bed after him to retrieve their luggage and begin unpacking.

After dinner Aev stood at the window watching the sun sink below the horizon; the dark silhouette of the mountains backlit by the fading pinks and oranges of the setting sun, giving way to the inky star speckled blackness above.

“Gosh this place is beautiful,” she mused, accepting the glass of wine Valdo held out to her and leaning into his side as he came to join her.

“I feel like I’m in Twilight,” she joked, getting a laugh from her husband.

“Well, we’re not far from Forks,” Valdo pointed out, taking a sip from his glass.

“Team Jacob, all the way,” Aev said as Valdo rolled his eyes.

“And here I thought you had better taste, sweetling,” Valdo quipped with a cheeky grin.  “Team Edward, clearly.”

Aev laughed as she took Valdo’s hand, pulling him back to the couch.  “Maybe now that R.Pattz looks like that,” she mused as Valdo plopped down and she crawled into his lap.  “Now, where were we earlier?” she asked, slipping her arms over his shoulders.

“My, my, needy aren’t we, darling?” he asked, setting his glass next to Aev’s lest he end up with wine on him as her mouth sought his neck.

“I thought that’s why we came out here in the first place, V,” she replied, kissing back up along his jawline to his ear.  “What’s a secluded romantic getaway without the sex?” she teased, bringing a soft groan to her husband’s lips. 

“You mistake me, love,” he drawled with a grin, “I quite like it when you take charge.”

Just as he drew his arms around her, pulling her closer, he froze.  “Did you hear that?” he asked, jerking upright, his eyes going to the window. 

“Hear what?” Aev asked, only pausing long enough to pull the collar of his shirt open further, bending forward to plant her lips to his chest.

Frowning, Valdo grabbed her arms, stopping her, but this time she too heard the soft scratching along the window.

“Okay, I heard that,” she said, her head swinging toward the sound.

For a long moment neither of them moved, both straining their ears.  Just as they thought it might’ve just been the wind, beginning to once more relax, a soft thud could be heard from the roof.

“Valdo,” Aev exclaimed, a hint of fear in her voice and she slipped off his lap as he got up, reaching for the heavy brass fire poker near the hearth.

“Don’t, uh, don’t worry, darling,” Valdo replied, turning to give her a reassuring smile that only trembled slightly.  “I’m sure it’s probably only an animal of some sort.”

Aev looked doubtful, but followed Valdo to the window to peer out into the darkness, flipping on the outside lights.  “Do you see anything?” she asked, holding onto his arm as she scanned the lit area.

“No, I--” Valdo’s answer was cut off by a blood curdling shriek from the other side of the cabin and they both jumped, holding onto each other for dear life.

“What was that?” Aevryn cried, her heart ready to pound out of her chest.

Taking a fortifying breath, Valdo straightened in an attempt to soothe his wife’s fears.  “It could still be an animal.  I’ve heard rabbits have been known to scream when attacked, sounding chillingly… human,” he rationalized.

“You think that was a rabbit?” Aevryn asked skeptically.

Before Valdo could answer, the sound of pounding against the outside walls filled the air, coming from all sides at once and the pair shrieked again, Aev burying her face in Valdo’s chest.  

“Did the website happen to say this place was haunted when you booked the reservation or did you fail to mention that part?” she exclaimed as her husband’s grip on her tightened, eyes warily watching the windows and the pounding suddenly stopped.

“No, this place is new, only built within the year,” he countered weakly.

“Oh, great, so it’s more likely it’s some band of psycho killers wearing masks over their heads come to torment and kill us,” Aev muttered.

“That… that’s not going to happen,” Valdo exclaimed, trying to strengthen his voice.  “I’m going to call the police.”

As he reached for his phone movement at the dark window caught his eye and then suddenly a grinning face appeared, accompanied by a loud bang sending Valdo rearing back, he and Aevryn both screaming in surprise once more.

However, moments later, muffled laughter could be heard outside and Valdo’s alarm turned to a mix of annoyance and murderous rage as he realized it was only Jaskier.  Rounding of his wife, he gave her his most unamused glare.  

“And I suppose you knew nothing about this?” he asked as she fought back a relieved laugh.

“What, Gods no!” she cried, holding up her hands in innocence.  “I was just as scared as you were,” she exclaimed when he merely looked disbelieving.  “Feel my heart, V, it’s racing,” she continued, taking his hand to place over her chest and finally his scowl disappeared.

“Then how the hell did they know we were here?” he wondered, following his wife to the door to let their friends inside.

“I may have mentioned we were taking a trip,” Aev admitted as she tugged open the door, “but I didn’t tell them where.”

“I have my ways,” Yennefer intoned cryptically as she swanned inside, followed by Geralt and [y/n]; Jaskier bringing up the rear.

“You should’ve seen your faces!” he exclaimed gleefully, throwing his arms wide as soon as he passed the threshold.

“Yes, you definitely scared the piss outta us,” Aev replied wryly as she hugged him.  “But you do know what that means,” she replied meaningfully.

“Oh, I’d love to see you try to best me,” Jaskier laughed.  “Bring it on Swift!”

“Swift-Marx,” Valdo grumbled under his breath as he shut the door and joined the others in the living area.  “So much for our romantic getaway,” he said, wearing a long suffering, if somewhat disappointed look.  “Now it’s more of a… group slumber party,” he groaned as Aev patted his shoulder, his disappointment echoed less prominently in her sea green eyes.

“Don’t worry Valdo,” [y/n] cut in with a warm smile.  “We have our own cabins, so you’ll still have your privacy.”

At that Valdo’s expression brightened considerably, and he joined his wife by the armchair across from the sectional, pulling her into his lap.

“Well, that certainly changes thing,” he quipped, flashing Aevryn a wink, who grinned back shamelessly while Jaskier made a face.

“Who’s up for some cards?” [y/n] announced with a clap, in an attempt to segue to other topics, reaching for a deck of cards from her bag.

“Oh, by the way, Pankratz,” Valdo said suddenly, drawing Jaskier’s attention, his eyebrows climbing.  “We accept your challenge.”

At this Jaskier’s boyish grin returned as he stared down his best friend and her rather haughty husband.  “Perfect, but just so you know, it may be hard to get the jump on me with Geralt as my bodyguard this weekend,” he exclaimed.

Feb 16th Hpcc recap part one!

Act one notes

You know it’s going to be a great show when the first note you’ve written is “I love Gordon’s jacket!”

Dombus has the most massive grin on his face at the prospect of being on the platform he’s just so full of utter delight to be there and it’s adorable

JSP kept whispering into lily lunas ear during Albus and Harrys scene on the platform 🥺🥺

JSP gave his mum a kiss on the cheek and then had some banter with his dad as he nearly ran into him

Fish! Harry had a right chuckle at the idea of Ginny being in slytherin

Scorpius is sat reading his book with such a grin on his face, he’s so into whatever he’s reading, he looks up to see Karl and tries to make a friend, has the second of heartbreak when he runs away and then heads back to his book, as if he completly expected to be treated like it :(

Throughout Scorpius explaining his parents, Albus keeps opening his mouth as if he wants to say something to him and make sure he’s okay, then on the “father son issues, I’ve got them” the recognition in Albus’s face is everything!!he sees himself in that line

During his sorting Scorpius was definitely murmuring something that looked a bit like “please” and then looked elated when he got into slytherin, Ronnie and Gordon were going mental jumping up and down to welcome him in

Karl ran right into Madam Hooch they proper smacked into each other and it was hilarious

Karl was jabbing Albus with his broom as he teased him

Karl getting signed on the platform by Harry let out the biggest shriek of EEEEEEEE

There was a big Potter bro play fight on the platform bless them

Yolly walked past as Draco was talking about the rumours and the nastiness of the hogwarts students, and Draco properly death stared at them, he was just so angry that the people at Hogwarts were so mean to his poor son.

Yann responded to this by screaming “AHHHH” and the pair of them ran away

Albus is so pleased with himself that he got incendio right, that boy just loves magic so much 🥺

The way Al says “of course” in response to “come to the funeral” is so utterly heartbreaking, he’s so sad for his best friend and sees it as a given that he’ll be there

At the start of wand dance Albus nearly got woooshed by the teachers spell bc he was so close

JSP was supportively shouting at Albus and slowing down to look out for him!

Lola!Ravenclaw girl was so happy she was the first one to get the spell “I did it! Ahahah!!” Whilst jumping up and down

Fish!Harry had such a wonderful dynamic with Hermione in the Office scene! They were bouncing off each other and constantly making the other laugh, after “it’ll go with the scar” Harry did the loudest “ HA HA HA HA”

For “no longer chaotic” he had the biggest grin on his face and put on his poshest voice whilst holding onto his wand at both ends.

Harry really seemed so invested in how Hugo was doing, he had the most genuine voice asking the question and reached his hand out across the table towards Hermione.

Ronnie cloak swished so hard bringing the table off that his hood went up

When Amos mentions Cedric Harrys face fell so much, he still feels so responsible and it destroys him

Lucy!Delphi very matter of factly went “I’m a theif” and did a cute little head tilt before pointing her wand at Albus aggressively

She’s so expressive it’s adorable and she constantly uses her hands

On the “once great Harry Potter” line fish!harry nodded very awkwardly, Harry was clearly so uncomfortable in the situation

Albus lights up when he sees his brother with pink hair and starts giggling, he has a puzzled look on his face when he sees the wings trying to figure out what they are but once he’s worked it out he just looks so happy because his sister is simply overjoyed by them and her happiness is infectious.

Fish!Harry gritted his teeth as if it was painful to think about his poor mum and clasped his hands together moving closer to Albus’s face to say “I think she would have wanted you to have it too”

“I used to LOVE packing” Harry is just desperate to find a way to chat to his son bless his heart and he sounded so enthusiastic about it but awkward at the same time

On *that* blanket scene line Harry punches his hand down, he was so angry, and then the regret of what he said started to crawl over his face and it was so painful, Albus sounds so broken on the “you meant it dad” his voice fully cracked

Craig as Dudley was absolutely hilarious today, he screamed “LOOK AT HIM” when he saw Hagrid and put his hands over his mouth and then fully fell over onto his stomach on the floor.

Dudley kept peering out from under the pillars of the staircase, whenever the word magic was mentioned Rosie!Petunia would cover his ears, when yer a wizard happened, Dudley stuck his head out as far as possible, and then Petunia stuck her arms out a bit too late and had to stretch super far to cover his ears

Fish as Harry seemed to me like he had all this hatred for Dumbledore, he said the line in the bedroom with ginny so sarcastically, as if he knew it was a fucked up thing for Dumbledore to say to a child

On the first train hug Scorpius flailed about but then tried to go back into the hug

The trolley witch missed JSPs compartment and he was very frustrated and distraught that she skipped him and was sort of aggressively waving out for her to come back

Albus tries to shove Scorpius up onto the train roof but gets fed up and goes first, Scorpius hurriedly follows after him, he doesn’t want to be left behind, and his legs were flailing about as he was getting up.

On the rebel line Scorpius did some jazz hands.

Scorpius is just so sweet and polite he tries to maintain eye contact and smile and nod along with what the trolley witch is saying even though she’s probs very terrifying to him at that point in time, what a good egg

In the EGM Susan was giggling so much at Draco’s sass and was absolutely living for the dramaaaa

Craig in St Oswalds was brilliant, “oh no” as he saw the old witches and wizards approaching and then “how are ya Susan? Did you enjoy Bessys birthday party?!” (At that point I died on the spot, I have the best friends ever for making that happen and now there is an offical character in CC canon named Bessy)

Albus tried to have a convo with Craig as he ran by in st Oswalds but there was just to much chaos

Scorpius always tries to protect Albus he keeps putting his arms around him to keep him safe, they stand so close to one another 🥺

“It’s going to be dangerous” “we know” Albus has the biggest grin on his face that boy loves the idea of an adventure

“I’ve heard it tastes of fish” Albus takes a big sniff trying to check it out for his friend and seeing if it does

Jons!Scorpius polyjuice transformations are just getting more and more extra and I live for themmmm, he was sticking his tounge out and fully shaking and going “vvvvvvvvvvdhdjdgyd”

Fish as Scorpius was incredible he had all of Jons mannerisms perfectly and was constantly giggling, especially at himself after telling Albus off he couldn’t stop laughing

Gilbey!Draco was nearly full on crying at “my soul heir” He remained steely and had such a front up for the start of the scene and then the vulnerability shone through :(

The search for hiding places was very dramatic, and then Fish!Scorp was pounding on the door like “LET ME IN” and Tom!Ron was like “ I CANT”

Tom!Albus’s fake vomit after kissing his aunt was wonderfully extra and then he started trying to wipe his mouth on his sleeves

Tom!Albus was completly starfished out over the door to stop hermione getting in!

He was looking desperately around for something to say before finishing with “A HOLIDAY” and then started to kiss Hermiones arms?! 10/10 flirt there

Fish!Harry walked past them both and jumped away like he was scared Ron was going to jump on him next

Fish!Scorp looks so upset about what Albus’s dad has said to him, he cares so much about Albus.

Fish!Scorp was so extra in the best way, “woahhhhhhh” *crouching down, flapping arms in the air*

One of my notes says “Fish crouched like spiderman.” So I’ll leave you all to imagine what that was like, he also at certain points looked like he was attempting the mobot

Fish kept throwing himself on the floor and crawled about then sat down in despair before getting sucked into the bookcase

Act Two

Fish!Harrys hand kept twitching in his sleep and he kept fiddling with his hands, is that where Albus gets it from?!

Lucy!Delphi did a finger gun on wizzo, and was being so encouraging to Albus with the expelliarmus. She stuck her hand up in the air to answer the question- she seems so incredibly dorky, a bit like the boys, you can see the hints of her manipulation how she plays up their traits in herself, to gain their trust

Scorpius speaks to Albus and only really to Al he just tries to ignore the fact that Delphi is also there

Delphi held the durmstrang robes above her head and then chucked them right in Scorpius’s face

Adrians neighs are more of a roarrrr than a neigh, they seem incredibly aggressive and quite frankly absolutely terrifying

Edge of the forest was so beautiful yesterday, it literally brought me to tears as soon as the boys emerged. Scorp just looked so happy, he was grinning and doing tiny giggles and even scrunching his nose up, and Albus was so desperate to let his friend know that he’s his best friend 🥺

Triwizard time!

Duncan tapped Ronnie on the shoulder and sent him off back to slytherin.

Craig started spelling out T W T with his hands to a bemused Lola

At least two attempts at a Mexican wave which were 60% successful?!

When Krum was mentioned Craig gave a big thumbs up to Scorp and Albus

Craug was down on his knees with his hands in the air proclaiming “I LOVE YOU FLEUR”’

Craig and Lola were being very sassy to the gryffindors at the mention of Harry, both making Ls with their hands and putting it to their foreheads at them

Ronnie got told off by Snape

“ITS THE DRAGON ITS THE DRAGON” - Lola bouncing up and down

Lola fainted at Cedric and then everyone started laughing whilst Ronnie pointed at her

Craig did his little high kick

Scorp fully throws himself at Albus after he’s hurt from the time turn he’s so scared that Al might be hurt :(

His voice cracked ok the “are you sure you’re okay?”

There seems to be this utter conflict in Fish!Harrys relationship with Dumbledore, he wants to be able to hate him for what he put him through but when the man is there in front of him he cracks, his “i missed you” sounded more like he missed him being around and missed speaking to him rather than like I’ve missed you at your portrait

Albus was sat crossed legged on the bed, and his legs were shaking when talking about hogwarts.

He’s so quick to rush in and defend Scorpius and is so upset that that’s how his dad sees him

When Albus is talking about Ron running a joke shop he’s grinning so hard like he’s reminiscing about all the fun he’s had at said joke shop

Fish!Harry was right up in Scorpius’s face when he walked past and then stood sassily waiting for Albus with his hand on hip.

Fish!Harry said the line “and he may not like me again” so incredibly sadly, it was such a contrast to the anger, he was just so devastated about the relationship with his son

During the whole DADA scene Lola and Craig were living for the gossip and kept turning to look at each other and then glare at Albus

In staircase ballet, Albus kept opening his mouth to try and say something, and did actually mouth a few words but I couldn’t make out what it was :(

Scorp always smiles at Albus whenever he sees him on the stairs, Scorpius still has that hope that maybe this time he won’t ignore him, when he’s sat on top of the stairs, and Albus runs through below him, he attempts to reach out through the gap and get to him.

The duel was so amazing, Fish and Gilbey have such an energy to them that is unmatched, Gilbey sassily sat on the table and went “tut tut tut” whilst shaking his finger, and on I wear it better, he reached out and licked his finger before stroking his hair.

When Ginny catches them Fish!Harry fries his best to look less suspicious

and sticks his hands behind his back and looks around the room trying not to meet his wife’s eye.

Delphi appeared so excited to be in hogwarts, she was fully trying to take everything in looking all around and imitating nearly headless nick sticking her neck out to the side.

She plays to his weaknesses so well, telling Scorpius she was ill as a child obviously evokes a lot of sympathy from him because of Astorias illness and it’s so easy to see how he was manipulated into trusting her since he sees his sickly mum in her.

Delphi is so fed up of Scorp not being able to see how much Albus needs him she was like “Scorpius NOoooOo” and rolled her eyes at the shoulder to cry on because he wasn’t getting it



During Dracos monologue He seemed like he was full on about to sob, he could barely say Astorias name without breaking down, his family is the one thing that can break down his icey barriers.

Mcgonagall fully starfished over the exit so that the boys wouldn’t be able to escape in the library scene.

When talking about Scorpius being kind from the tips of his fingers, Albus grabbed his own fingers to emphasis what he was trying to say

“That’s a nice thing to say” Scorpius reaches across and placed his hand on Albus’s knee

Scorpius came in very close to Albus as he said “I didn’t much like my life without you in it either” and his voice was all shaky like he was about to cry because he had missed his best friend so much

The new sparkly surprise was so cute, Albus lifted one hand as if it was a firework being launched into the sky, and then did three little firework explosions each complete with its own little pewwwww

When talking about making cedric larger, Albus lifted his arms out from him to mime something growing bigger

Lola!myrtle:

-> “do I moan?!” she spun her head around and kicked her legs up whilst pouting.

-> she leaned back and when talking about being partial to a Potter did a little upside down wave at a very taken a back Albus

-> C E D R I C D I G GORY - her way of saying cedric Diggory was absolutely hilarious

-> “waaaaaaaaaa” *albus rushes forward to say something else*

*does a very sassy stop right there hand motion*

“Excuse me, I’m crying” * returns back to wailing*

-> she waved Albus down the sink and then stuck her leg out across the top to prevent Scorpius from following him right away and stuck her face close to his whilst saying “I do like braveeeee boysssss”

-> the adults on their way in “uH oH” sticks hands over face like she’s playing peekaboo

-> she then proceeded to make kissing pouts at Harry

I love how in the lake Albus decides that although there’s a 5 min rule with the time turner he’s got plenty of time for a couple of underwater backflips

Scorpius is so elated when he gets out of the lake he’s so pleased he thinks everything is fixed so his first shout of Albus is all bubbly and then it slowly gets more and more panicked until he’s completely desperate and realises he’s all alone

Rosie!Umbridge put her hand on heart after mentioning Potters death, and then did some sassy hand on the hip action for “we bravely overthrew”

now im watching last week’s ep of tco4 bc i havent had time to get to it yet and i need to take my mind off snzm 

UGH its sad to hear xy, fsc and xiao huang talking about their rankings rip but their laughing makes it even more sad

UGH NOT FRUIT PLANET I REALLY LIKE THEMMMM sigh i gotta face the reality that theyre likely gonna get separated... but PLEASE AT LEAST SOMEONE SAVE XIAO ZHI PLEASE THATS ALL I ASK, im not gonna be greedy :(

oof i respect ma zhe saying that he doesnt want to win bc he recognizes other kids like FRUIT PLANET KIDS, zy and xiao zhi, are so skilled. he knows winning is just a numbers game and would not serve as proof of his skill. thats a tough place to be in, and it isnt uncommon but i think i rarely hear a contestant say it like that. “i dont want to win bc im not worthy” “i dont want to win bc i know im not as talented” 

wow i was a little confused as to why they were doing these solo spotlights but actually this is really nice! its nice to see them really going hard at their strengths and really pouring their all in to show off a bit. it can be hard to do so in a group setting all the time, and really it reminds you that there a lot of really talented musicians among these kids. i think itll also be good to remind the kids who are picking later what the other kids’ skills are and what they’re capable of. 

oh whoa i thought about there only being 2 bassists, i didnt realize there are only 2 pianists too

hm maybe im just biased but i thought xiao li’s playing was a litttleee bit cleaner than szb’s heheh but i respect that they attempted to even play a duet from across the room, thats a challenge 

i respect muji’s playing 

LOL why do xiao huang and zhao ke’s voices singing together sound so strange to me LOL 

LOL switch to ljt’s group and im just !!!!! HIS VOICE !!!! I LOVE LIAO JUNTAO’S VOICEEE and also the cafe vibe is so him LOL this group is so him

wait so someone explain to me why ljt wasnt in the solo section? is he considered a vocal? but what about his guitar skills??

YAY FRUIT PLANET !! i love how happy xiao zhi and wsh look when playing hahah 

AW talking about xiao zhi being like a dad and 包容 and taking care of them im ughhhh UGH THIS IS A MINI XIAO ZHI FEATURE IM CRYINGGGG THIS CHILD DESERVES THIS “the one who’s left standing when everyone else falls down” hes just so supportive and warm.. ugh watching him break down crying thinking about all he couldve done better and you can tell he feel so guilty and blames himself that fruit planet isnt doing well

HAHAHAHA EVERYONE WANTS XIAO ZHI !!! except szb lol but at least i know if they do get disbanded, hopefully xiao zhi will still be safe :’) im glad they all recognize his talent and the importance of having a bassist!!! 

oof xiao xiong talking about hyt being overbearing and reminding him of his ANGRY DAD thats a big ouch. it is true that xiao xiong’s skill level may not be up to hyt’s standards, but i can see hyt doesnt respect him enough as a team member. the more familiar hyt gets with him, the more he isnt afraid to show his true feelings of frustration. esp bc theyre in such a stressful situation, it must be rough as a leader. also seems rough for xiao li to be stuck in between this. from the beginning hyt has shown himself to have high standards and he demands high quality so he isnt gonna be the soft, encouraging leader xiao xiong probably would prefer, unfortunately. ouch the way hyt straight up says “this is going to be painful” like theres nothing he can do about it and they just have to accept it. like ps says, he’s not good at understanding other people’s feelings, like he doesnt seem to be willing to try to understand xiao xiong’s. 

the way hyt lists what other people are doing and then asks xiao xiong “那你呢?” ouch........ that seems really mean? manipulative? harsh? but at the same time, we dont really know all the context so this is just want tencent wants us to think.

hyt also wants xiao zhi???? I cant imagine xiao zhi in this group, even tho itd probably be good for his possible debuting prospects, but xiao zhi gives me such a laid back, warm, taking care of everyone, creating a nice, supportive environment type of leader, and this group is literally the opposite of that??? ugh and yet, despite their superior group environment, fruit planet is at risk of getting disbanded... so sad.

LOL FRUIT PLANET IS SAFE IM SO RELIEVED HAHAH okay i know i came into this show for ljt but xiao zhi has become one of my picks too, i cant deny anymore LOL and also xiao li -- but hyt’s group’s dynamic makes me feel uncomfortable at the moment. but yea ljt, xiao zhi, xiao li are my top 3... too bad they DEF wont be in the same group / wouldnt mesh well in a group together LOL 

i love fruit planet group dynamic :’) watching them talk to each other just makes me smile

OH MY GOODNESS XIAO LI IS LEAVING?????? i can understand though, this grouping is not ideal from a music making standpoint either, like why are there so many vocalists lol but also i respect that hes putting his music first and he knows what he wants and needs for his music. even if it means leaving hyt who is basically a guarantee for popularity on this show. im so surprised xiao xiong isnt saying he will leave too.. or even hyt himself at this point. theyre all just... crying.... but honestly how can they make music without xiao li??? 

AWH my heart.... xiao li asking xiao xiong “你會恨我嗎?” i have never felt “do you hate me” hit me in the feels like this before. its such an OOF. and xiao xiong saying hes super close to xiao li, you can tell hes been under such emotional duress and xiao li has supported him through and now hes just conflicted between betraying hyt (who he wouldnt be here without) and suffering with hyt without xiao li there to help. this is so sad to watch..... ok but honestly just seeing how in this emotional time, ma zhe and xiao xiong are talking to xiao li and NOT hyt says something about how theyre afraid to touch him. 

what xiao li says about hyt being kidnapped by his popularity makes so much sense, with what hyt said about chasing after his expectations and trying to live up to them. hes really not relaxed. ever. and i think thats what xiao li doesnt want to work with. i respect that he wants to be recognized for his music rather than just be recognized. 

wat is this show doing why did they just stop and let them wallow in their feelings for hours??? wtf?? i mean i appreciate they respect that its a difficult and important decision but shouldnt they make them move on more efficiently?? what a waste of everyone’s time...

lol hyt learning some eq? yes you have to take care of your group members’ feelings, theyre people....

L O L XIAO LI GOING BACK ON HIS DECISION IM DYINGG HAHHAHAHAHHAHA WHAT A WASTE OF EVERYONES TIME HAHAHHAHA WHAT IS THIS SHOW. but okay yes i respect xiao li for having the guts to say he wants to leave, bc that hopefully gave hyt the wake up call he needed. BUT ALSO i do think staying with hyt makes sense career-wise. gaining popularity first isnt a bad thing. and he can always (continue to) prove his worth and make all different types of songs in the future, whether during or after his time with hyt. but staying with hyt = exposure, and thats never a bad thing. its just... hopefully they can resolve their emotional issues from here on out.

technically the smart move is to pick a popular contestant like zhao ke, to boost your group’s popularity overall. BUT hyt is so popular it really doesnt matter LOL
