the thing about zoro n luffy as a ship is... there isn't any mental gymnastics needed, all the tropes & deranged soulmatism are There in Canon 4k

zoro n luffy are by far one of the most canon based ships I’ve ever had, and everytime i watch a new arc or read a spoiler there’s more. maybe not canon in the traditional sense (kissing, holding hands, confession scene) but they are fated, they do have a destiny together, they are so incredibly soulmate coded. obviously the entire straw hat crew fits w each other like a glove, but there is something special about the captain and first mate. luffy found zoro when he was arguably the most lost, and they immediately clicked. their humor, their sense of direction, their love for food drink and fights, their nonverbal communication, their devotion, their trust. the way they look to each other first. their joy in seeing each other after being apart that includes luffy blushing at the site of zoro (wano reunion u haunt me). it’s a love that is open for interpretation, but an undeniable love. whether u see them as platonic romantic qpr etc………they belong together
