It's funny to me (and highly predictable) to see all the online bros and "highly respected" sports panellists suddenly talking about how great Mitch is and how awesome his playing has been and how the team needs him and he should re-sign with them like BITCH I'VE BEEN HERE THE WHOLE TIME, YOU THINK I DIDN'T SEE WHAT YOU WERE SAYING ABOUT HIM A MONTH AGO??

I know the show has done a lot to show us the ages of the characters, but there's something about ep 11 that, for me, really showcases that Yak is a 22ish babygirl that's just so so so full of love, and Dee's a 27ish man with more life experience and way less love experience.

It's a dynamic that works so well because we get to see Yak break down Dee's walls brick by brick with the sheer force of his sunshiney love, and Dee grounding and supporting Yak while he's navigating through new, scary life experiences.

I think it's also fun to watch because, stereotypically speaking, the archetypes of Yak and Dee's characters (strong, confident boxer vs. doctor with 0 love experience) would usually be reversed, with Dee being the more vulnerable and emotional one, and Yak being the more mature calm one.

It's a very welcomed change. Please give me 20 more.

but i just gotta say how i love the lil framed shot of catra taking the hand adora's offered her - both finally having claimed control of their lives, their destinies, their dreams & desires - and finding that it led them to the same place - head over heels in luv w each other.

so adora reaches out her hand - moments after they just saved the universe (by confessing their love for one another & sharing a first kiss that had em lookin like they fused into a blindingly bright rainbow disco ball [which i am all bout btw]) -

and catra takes adora's hand - then adora pulls that lil kitty cat right up to her - that detail of the shot is my fav tbh cause every time i see it - i hear adora tellin catra somethin like-

"that's right bb get over here- ur mine now, no take backs, no escape- let go of this hand and i'ma bust out the duct tape, and trust me- that's more threatening than it probably seems- just ask darla"

see i am 20 and none of my friends or myself have really gone through a Bad Breakup, but the album still makes perfect sense to me. maybe that’s because im able to empathise with the experiences laid out in front of me idk. but it is interesting that people struggle to understand something i find fairly easily explainable

Yeah! When I say it's the quintessential thirtysomething album, I mean it as shorthand for like, the culmination of life experiences and grief and struggle and rebirth and finding yourself and whatnot. Which typically happens by the time you hit your thirties many times over, and yes there are specific things she talks about on the album that are VERY salient to people in that age bracket, but that's another discussion...

But I do think the Empathy thing is also key. And to be clear: I am not saying people lack empathy if they don't like the album, or like the story, or whatever. (I am being mindful that words have impact and we are all people behind our screens and keyboards so I am not trying to paint everything with the same brush.) Everyone has their own life experience and everyone has experienced grief and trauma and more importantly processes it differently. Many, and perhaps even most, of us would not have taken the actions Taylor did. But that's the whole point: we all do things differently and learn from them differently.

I have never been in the specific situation Taylor has been in, but I have had a loved one live with incredibly difficult mental health (and physical tbh) challenges that made them behave in a very particular way, which is why I relate to so many songs of Taylor's on such a visceral level that I feel like she was in my walls. And that is why my heart goes out to her throughout all of TTPD, because even in my fraction of an experience (that isn't nearly as traumatic as what she went through, although this isn't the Trauma Olympics), I know how absolutely gutting it is to live that way, like the way it changes your brain chemistry, and I can't even imagine how much more exponentially painful it was in her circumstances with everything else she was dealing with and living it 24/7. If I felt like complete shit with the person firing off missiles every day, I can't even fathom what it's like when that person is your entire world and future.

I'm not going to make generalizations about how others interpret the album or feel about it or the situation about it, because I've learned that again, my words have consequences and I don't want to hurt people. But I will say I'm grateful that I DO understand the album in the way that I have interpreted it because it has given me so much pleasure to talk about and delve into, and has led to some wonderful conversations with friends here AND broader conversations about some really important issues surrounding womanhood among other things.

okay, here's how gawene meetcute can still win: what if gawyn and galad are *already* in the tower when we kick off, and it's only morgase, elaida, and gaebril who arrive with pomp and circumstance later in ep2?

i saw a recent reddit post revisiting the wall of headshots that was included in a behind-the-scenes video made while s3 was in production. this poster seems to have some production experience and says that these headshots most likely represent characters who are present in s3 (so characters who were in prior seasons but aren't returning would have been removed) but that the order of headshots typically corresponds to when the character is first introduced in the overall show, not when they first arrive in the specific season. and if we look at these pics in order, we can see that indeed, everybody's placement matches when they first appeared in the show.

our final s2 character is moggy. after that, it goes into all the new aes sedai we saw during the shredding. and the very next people after them? galad and gawyn (#42 and 43, not identified yet in the image but it is 100% their headshots in those two slots). and they are followed not by morgase or elaida or gaebril, but a woman who's been identified as possibly the novice mat is showing the horn to in that one shot, and after her is possibly melaine. so we have the brothers separated out from the rest of the caemlyn crew, with at least two other new characters in between them.

so! it's possible the character introduction order in these headshots is not completely precise and shouldn't be read into too deeply (for example, some of the shredding order is not exactly correct, since jeaine enters after galina and tsutama but is pictured before them here). it's possible the two women after the brothers have been guessed wrong and are actually members of the andoran party rather than mat's novice and melaine. but it's also possible that galad and gawyn are introduced several scenes before the rest of the caemlyn crew is. (for the shredding, at least all those actresses are in the same scene even if maybe they didn't have the exact order of appearance nailed down yet when this video was taken, but why separate galad and gawyn out from morgase et al unless they were certain they would appear in an earlier scene on their own without the rest of the caemlyn party?)

i wouldn't bank on them being in ep1 since we know a good amount about that episode already and it doesn't sound like there's room for them. but if egwene perhaps ends ep1 at the tower after taking her accepted test (which recent josha comments have implied takes place *after* the bubbles of evil, so the test is probably one of the final scenes in the episode, i would think), and if the brothers show up very early in ep2, then maybe she could cross paths with them at least for one scene. if #45 is indeed melaine, maybe bair is right after her as #46 out of frame in this picture, and maybe egwene sees both of them while accidentally dreamwalking, and maybe that scene, her trigger to go to the waste, doesn't occur until after we've seen the brothers in an earlier scene, and maybe egwene is in the tower and meets them and then has her dreamwalking encounter and then goes back out to town to tell rand and aviendha that she's coming with them to the waste.

now! storywise, would it work for the brothers to have arrived separately? i think so. they could say "hey elayne, mom sent us here a few weeks ago to look for you, and now it's been so long that she's coming here herself because she's really pissed". and i HAVE noticed that in the 2 pics we have so far of morgase's grand arrival, we can see her and elaida and gaebril but the brothers are nowhere in sight (at least from the angles we've been shown), which i'd figured meant they just weren't participating in this formal meeting in the hall of the tower, but it could also mean that they aren't part of the big caemlyn party that's just arriving now because they'd already come on their own earlier.
