Ladybug Week 2023 Day 1, Oct. 23rd: College AU
With a Freezerburn guest appearance.
This one's for all my fellow Ladybug fans. (All, like, 2 of them).
When I sat down to draw this my brain went on a tangent and created its own full-on fanfiction, lol.
Basically, Ruby is this super talented freshman in the engineering department who's been gaining the attention of all the professors since she enrolled. She singlehandedly became the lead of the Science and Technology committee, which both she and her buddy Penny attend.
Yang is on a sport scholarship and is part of the Volleyball team together with Blake. She and her buddy Pyrrha are the aces of the team. She's very talented at the sport despite not seeming to have any aspirations to pursue it as a career…? Like Ruby she's also enrolled in engineering.
Blake is the Visa student- her parents saved money their entire lives to send her to a good university in a first world country. She joined the volleyball team with the goal to save money with a scholarship, but ended up enjoying being part of the team. She's chronically broke and isn't legally allowed to work due to her Visa status, but her buddy Sun hooks her up with some shady jobs that she takes from time to time to earn some cash. She met Ruby through Yang, who started inviting her out for lunch to discuss their shared favorite books series. Blake only agreed at first for the free food but eventually ended up enjoying and seeking out Ruby's company.
Weiss is this turbo-preppy model student and the president of the Student Organization's Committees. She had some friction with Ruby at first due to their clashing personalities but they eventually grew to respect each other. She met Yang through Ruby and was immediately smitten. She's suspicious of Blake and thinks she and her buddy Sun are bad influences on Ruby.

RWBY Ladybug week day 8: AU Day (very late entry, ik)
I revisted my old Ladybug Wolfwalkers AU for this, both creating new art and redoing my old edits from 2021 (I just changed Ruby and Blake's outfits from their Atlas ones to their Mistral ones instead cuz I think it fits the vibe better)

Ladybug Week Day 6: Scars
Blake opened the door of Ruby’s apartment, pausing as she saw the cut she made for Ruby to feed from had already started to scar up. Another scar added to the collection of cuts on her back from silver weapons and the bite mark on her left shoulder from the wolf that turned her. She turned away from her arm and helped Ruby into the apartment. “You’re sure you’re okay?”
“I am,” Ruby answered as she relaxed once into the dimly lit apartment, taking her cloak off and looking at the burns on her arms. “At least it all looks like a sunburn now.”
Blake nodded and sat down on the couch, watching Ruby as she put ointment over the sunburn. She had wanted to be upset that Ruby didnt trust her enough to tell her about being a vampire, though she knew she couldnt be all that upset with how often she had avoided Ruby and kept being a werewolf her own secret. “How long?”
“I’m sorry?” Ruby asked.
“How… how long have you been a vampire?”
“Since I was born.” Ruby finished putting ointment on her skin and made her way to the kitchen to start making dinner. “Dad was a bit freaked out, but mom reassured him it was okay. Yang helped keep me safe after mom disappeared, though I did try to act as human as possible to help keep dad sane.”
“And you were able to keep all of that hidden at Beacon?” Blake watched as Ruby grabbed a few potatoes and started to chop them up, licking her lips. “How? There was sunlight everywhere and I know I saw you come out during the day. A-and how did you feed?”
Ruby sat the knife down and started to rinse the potatoes, carefully making sure her hands didnt get into the water. “Feeding was the hardest part. Yang helped when she could, but I always made sure to feed from her when it wasnt going to hurt her. Otherwise, I… went off in the middle of the night and fed from whatever animals I could find. Or from anyone who tried to bully my friends.”
“What about the sunlight? I’m sure we would’ve noticed from that.”
“You remember those gloves I used to wear all the time, right? The red ones with green trim?”
Blake sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. “I should’ve known that. And your cloak… that would’ve kept the sunlight off you most of the time.”
Ruby nodded and turned the water off. “That, and my umbrella. Plus, most of our classes were indoors, so that helped out a lot. Only had to worry about when we went on training missions and I… kept careful with that.”
Blake nodded, smiling a bit as she watched Ruby continue to cook. Her smile faded as Ruby spoke to her, a hand moving to her shoulder.
“When did you become a werewolf?”
Blake sighed and moved her shirt to show the bite mark scar on her shoulder, still tender to the touch after all these months. “I… I was bit by another werewolf while I was on a mission. It was supposed to be a quick scouting mission for Vacuo to make sure there werent any grimm in the area. Instead, I ran into a wolf during the full moon. It had bright blue eyes and a scar across it’s left eye, and it seemed angry that I was there. I tried to fight it off, but…” her voice trailed off as she pulled her shirt up to hide the scar again, looking away from Ruby. Her body shuddered as it remembered the pain from the bite, how the teeth practically burned as they pierced through her aura and into her. How it felt to shift the first time, her body feeling hotter than normal while her bones shifted, hearing each crunch as joints moved and bones seemed to reform to suit her wolfish form. “Doesnt matter anymore though.”
“Of course it matters.” Ruby walked over to Blake and sat down next to her, gently rubbing her shoulder. “For the longest time, I wanted to be normal. To be just a regular human or faunus, but that was never a choice for me. And while that was taken from you, what you need is someone who can stay by your side.”
Blake slowly looked over to Ruby. “And who would be dumb enough to do that?” she asked. “I might attack at any minute when I’m shifted.”
Ruby grinned and pointed at herself. “Then call me stupid, because I’m not leaving your side for a minute. I might not know what its like to shift like you do, but that doesnt mean I cant try to help keep you safe and maybe get this under control.”
“And if anyone comes to hunt me?”
“Then I’ll make sure they know never to come after you again.”
Blake relaxed a bit and nodded. “Alright, I trust you.”
“Great. But there is one thing I’ll need as payment.”
“And what’s that?”
Ruby kissed her. “For us to go stargazing again. Barring nights of the full moon.”
Blake pressed into the kiss, practically purring as she relaxed. “Sounds like a small price to pay. But, yeah, I’ve missed that too. Stargazing it is.”

Ladybug Week Day 4
Mistakes were made Blake covered her mouth in shock, everyone looked at her but her eyes were focused on Ruby who just stared back with a wide-eyed expression and whispered one word. “....what?” Blake knew she was in a rough spot so she did the only thing she knew how to do in situations despite how much she promised she wouldn’t. She ran Blake could hear Ruby shout and wait behind her but tried to ignore her. It wasn’t supposed to happen like that. It was a mistake, an accident. She continued to run but she felt something hit her and the next thing she knew everything was red and she was moving far much faster, faster than she could think and before she knew it she was in what appeared to be a storage room that was behind the house they had been staying at. Blake tried to catch her breath and looked at Ruby who was closing the door. Blake gulped knowing that things were going to be rough. Blake sighed and decided to clear the air. She didn’t want to confess her feelings like this, perhaps somewhere more romantic rather than during an argument. “Ruby… I_” “Why did you lie…?”
Blake is dumbfounded by what Ruby just said.
“Ruby, what did you just-”
Ruby turned her to face Blake and rolled her eyes.
“Why would you lie like that? First you told me you look up to me and know you love me? Come on Blake really? You don’t have to say things like that to make me feel better”
Blake shook her head as at Ruby’s accusations
“No Ruby wait. I wasn’t lying, what I said was the truth! I do look up to you, honestly! Me telling you that I’m in love with you was a mistake!”
Ruby nodded, pain in her eyes.
“Right, it was a mistake, that’s what I thought!”
Ruby started to turn around when Blake realized what she said.
“NO! That’s not what I mean! Ruby please listen, I do love you it’s just that… I have been wanting to tell you for so long. You see… I began to realize my feelings for you.”
Ruby paused as Blake continued.
“I meant it when I said I always looked up to you. You become a beacon of hope for all of us.. Especially me. When I look back, there are times where I should have said something when you were struggling so much. So I vowed I would make it up to you. To make happy in every way I can…:
A tear rolled down Ruby’s eye, she continued to listen to Blake
“I may have failed at that but I’m not gonna give up. I’m going to be honest with my feelings. Ruby…”
Blake stepped forward
“I look up to you”
She took another step forward
“I believe in you”
She was finally close to Ruby…
“...And I love you, it’s the honest truth”
Ruby turned around and looked into Blake’s eyes which were shedding tears that matched her own.
“Blake… I-I don’t know what to say…” Ruby closed the distance between herself and Blake, taking her hand.
Blake, pressed her forehead against Ruby’s, Her heart racing a mile a minute. “When I told you I love you back there, that was a mistake but it is the honest truth. You don’t have to give me an answer right away, but please let me try to win your love.”
Ruby giggled. “Blake… you won that a long time ago!”
Blake's breath caught Ruby leaned up and kissed her on the check. Their tears of pain were replaced with tears of joy. The two lovers began to giggle. When they calmed down they looked lovingly into each other's eyes. Ruby then broke the silence.
“We should get back.”
“Right”
As the two exited the shed Blake was now faced with another dilemma, their friends were going to want an explanation. Blake just thought to herself “Whoa boy” as she and Ruby walked hand in hand back.

Ladybug Week 2023 (Day 6) - Scars
[Ruby sat alone by the window , looking through the rain as she drew images of Cinder , Penny and all of her memories on a sketchbook]
Blake - Ruby …
[Ruby quickly closed the sketchbook]
Blake - If you’re trying to be funny , you’re failing
Ruby - I’m not trying to be anything
Blake - If you don’t talk about what your feeling , your past is going to kill you
Ruby - [frowns and turns away] What makes you think you know anything
Blake - Because it’s like I’m looking at my 17 year old mirror and scars run deep
[Blake put a hand on her shoulder , watching as Ruby flinched]
Blake - I know she hurt you … but I'm not going to let you fall in the darkness like I almost did
[Ruby buries her face in Blake's arm]
Ruby - Does it ever go away ?
[Blake took a few moments to measure her answer]
Blake - No….but….one day , if you're open to it. You'll find yourself surrounded by the things that made your life….GOOD again. And while the memories remain, you'll realize you can leave them in the past, that they don't define your future

Ladybug Week Day 4: Accidental Confession
Ruby listened to Blake’s heart as she trained before the first light in Beacon’s courtyard, smiling a bit as she watched every movement. A blush crossed her cheeks as she kept to the shadows, careful not to get into the sunlight that started to make its way through the trees. She swore her own heart skipped a beat or two as she watched each fluid movement her crush made, each careful stroke of her sword, hearing every pound of her heart as it filled her ears and resonated with her own hunger.
“You know you could join me,” Blake said as she sheathed her blade and wiped her sweat from her brow. “Unless you prefer to lurk when someone trains.”
“I’m not lurking, I just got here.” Ruby pulled away from the tree she was hiding behind, slowly making her way to Blake as she carefully avoided any sunlight. “And I thought it would be rude of me to ask to join you without an invitation.”
Blake smirked a bit as she sat her towel down. “And when were you thinking about asking? After another hour of watching?”
Ruby looked away for a moment to hide her blush after being caught watching Blake for much longer than she expected. “Its not often I get to watch someone like you train,” she said quietly to herself.
“Come on over and we can start to work on your hand to hand.”
Ruby nodded and made her way over to Blake, moving her cloak to keep the sunlight off her shoulders and putting her hood up to give herself a bit more of a shadow to move in. She smiled as she readied herself. “Ready when you are.”
Blake raised her fists and took a strike at Ruby. “Isnt it a bit hot to keep yourself bundled up in your cloak like that? I know its only spring, but its not like its stayed cool.”
“I burn easily,” Ruby said as she dodged the strike and tried to strike back with a jab. “So its easier to keep myself covered so I dont get a sunburn.”
“Couldnt you just use sunscreen?”
“I’ve tried and it never worked.” Ruby took a step back to miss another strike from Blake, tripping over her cloak and nearly falling over until she was caught by Blake. She panted a bit as she looked into Blake’s amber eyes as they reflected the sunlight, a blush crossing her cheeks as she started to lose where she was. Her ears caught Blake’s heartbeat, her own hunger starting to get the best of her as she moved from Blake’s eyes to her neck. She felt her fangs start to grow a bit, getting snapped out of her stupor once she heard Blake’s voice.
“Are you okay, Ruby?”
“I-I’m fine.” Ruby stood up and pulled away from Blake, looking away from her as she took a few breaths to calm herself and let her fangs hide. “I… I got a little lost looking at someone so pretty.”
“You think I’m pretty?” Blake asked.
Ruby’s blush deepened further as she started to panic, slightly moving into the light and burning her hand as she touched a metal bench. She recoiled back, only to freeze when she felt Blake’s hand on her own again, being gentle with the burn.
“Maybe we should start heading inside,” Blake said. “If its getting warm enough that you’re going to burn yourself on metal, then maybe we should be done for the day.”
Ruby nodded softly, still trying to hide her blush. “Its about time for breakfast anyway. We dont want to be late.”
—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ruby smiled as she watched Blake stretch in the sunlight, opening up her umbrella to keep herself out of the sun as a few memories from Beacon came to the front of her mind. “I could watch you do this all day.”
“Then maybe you can join me,” Blake said as she picked herself back up, giving a sly grin to Ruby. “Unless you prefer to lurk for another hour or so.”
“I’d love to, but you know I still burn easily.”
“You still have your cloak.”
Ruby rolled her eyes and put her cloak over her, making sure her arms were covered and her hood was up. “Alright, I’ll join you.”
Blake smiled and moved over a bit to give Ruby some room. “Then maybe we can spar?”
“Like we used to at Beacon?” Ruby grinned and got into a ready stance. “Yeah, I’m ready.”
“Great! Then show me what you can do!”
Ruby ducked as she avoided a jab from Blake, not quite expecting her to go for her face already. She jabbed back, weaving after to try to strike Blake once more, her hand going into a shadow clone and catching her off balance.
“Too slow!”
“Wait Blake-” Ruby felt herself get kicked and pushed into the sunlight, wincing as she felt the light burn her. She pulled the cloak around her to protect herself, panicking as her fangs started to show. She curled up to keep her safe, breathing hard as she felt the light still sting at her.
“Ruby?” Blake called. “Are you okay? You’re not hurt, are you?”
“I-I… I need my umbrella,” Ruby said between breaths, eyes focused on the shadow her cloak made. “I have to get out of the shade. Vampires arent supposed to be in sunlight.”
“Why didnt you tell me?”
Ruby paused for a moment as she watched the shadows grow for a moment, slowly peeking out of her cloak to see her umbrella over her. Then, she felt Blake’s hand on her shoulder, gentle as ever. “I… I was worried… that you’d hate me if you found out. We’re huntresses, we fight grimm and monsters that threaten humanity. And here I am, the monster that humanity is supposed to hate, helping to protect humanity from the grimm. You can see how this all sounds, right?”
“I could never have hated you for that.” Blake helped Ruby up and sighed. “Lets get you home then.”
Ruby nodded and took Blake’s arm, propping up against her as they made their way back to camp to break it down and pack up. As she finished packing up, she paused as she smelled the familiar scent of blood, slowly looking over at Blake.
Blake moved her arm in view for Ruby, offering it out to her. “To get your strength up.”
Ruby licked her lips as she made her way closer to Blake, gently sinking her teeth into her arm and feeding from her lover, making sure to be careful and not take too much as her burnt skin started to heal.

Ladybug Week Day 3: First Kiss
Blake winced as she felt the cool morning air against her skin and the gentleness of Ruby’s fingers against her back. Her body ached from shifting after the full moon had finally set, her head pounding as she continued to feel a rush from the adrenaline that still coursed through her body. She slowly opened her eyes and pulled Ruby’s cloak over herself to keep warm.
“Finally awake?” Ruby asked.
“Y-yeah, I’m awake,” Blake said groggily as she slowly got up, her arms shaking as they supported her. “You… you stayed with me. Why?”
“You’re supposed to be my girlfriend, so of course I stayed with you. Though, you could’ve told me about this.”
“About me being a monster?” Blake pulled the cloak around herself and looked around the small camp that Ruby had made. They were still in the darkest parts of the forest, light shining around the edges of the camp from the leaves above. Her stomach growled, and then she doubled over and heaved for a moment as her body started to realize it had eaten raw meat the night before. “Why… why didnt you run?”
Ruby started to dig through her pack and pulled out some fresh clothes for Blake, along with some eggs, pancake mix, and a little milk. “You didnt try to hurt me and seemed more scared of me than I was of you. I hope pancakes will be okay with you for breakfast, I wasnt able to grab much before getting you out of Vale.”
Blake nodded and grabbed the clothes, getting herself dressed as she tried to piece together the memories from her shift. She remembered shifting in Vale, being brought out with Ruby, a strange smell that seemed to linger around her partner, racing through the forest to hunt… but she couldnt remember if anyone had come to hunt her like they had before. “Yeah, pancakes will be fine.” She finished getting dressed and sat Ruby’s cloak next to her as she watched her partner start a fire and start to mix the pancake batter. “What happened to the people who came out to hunt me?”
“No one did. I made sure no one saw you.”
Blake quietly watched Ruby as she placed a pan over the fire and slid a small bit of butter into it to grease it up. It didnt make any sense that someone didnt come to hunt her down, especially after shifting in the middle of the city. People were terrified of wolves, let alone a werewolf that was twice the size of a regular wolf. “What do you mean no one came to find me?”
“I mean exactly that, no one came to find you.”
“But someone always does!” Blake yelled, pausing when she caught her reflection on the metal pan catching her canines were still enlarged from her transformation. She took a deep breath to relax, trying to keep her own anger from taking over. “Over the last eight months, someone has always come after me. Farmers, villagers, huntsmen… I’ve only killed when I had to in order to keep myself safe, but someone always comes. As far as anyone is concerned, I’m just a beast to be killed.”
“And this time, no one came for you.” Ruby poured a little batter into the pan to start a pancake, smiling a bit as she watched it start to bubble. “I used my semblance to get us out of Vale and then I took you deep into the forest. No one saw you and you only went after deer and rabbits this time instead of anything the farmers were herding.”
“That hasnt stopped anyone-” Blake froze when she felt Ruby kiss her, her thoughts trailing away for a brief moment as her hand went to Ruby’s back. She finally relaxed as Ruby broke the kiss, a blush crossing her cheeks as they seemed to heat up. “You… you kissed me.”
“I needed you to calm down and try to relax for a moment,” Ruby said, hiding her own small blush as she focused on the pancakes. “Though, I guess that would be our first kiss, wouldn’t it? We’ve been dating since we’ve graduated and we havent kissed once, have we?”
“Its not like we’ve had a lot of time.” Blake relaxed as she watched Ruby flip the pancake, her stomach growling from the smell. “Ozpin has been keeping you busy, I’ve had to spend some time in Menagerie, and even when we are together, we rarely have time to ourselves without being called on another mission. And then I…” she paused for a moment and put a hand to the scarred bite mark on her shoulder. “I became… this. Ironic though, a cat faunus becoming a wolf once a month.”
Ruby chuckled a bit. “It is, but please dont hide anything like this anymore.”
“I wont.”
“Now eat. I’m sure you’ll feel better on a full stomach.”
Blake nodded and took the first pancake, biting savagely into it. She savored the taste, already enjoying it more than the thought of eating raw meat. “And then… maybe we can have a bit of time to ourselves, right? Just you and me?”
Ruby nodded and took another pancake out of the pan. “Of course.”
Blake blushed at the thought of being alone with Ruby again, cuddling with her and holding her close. Just like she used to at Beacon. She slowly tore a piece of pancake and popped it into her mouth. “That would be nice.”

Ladybug Week Day 2: Vampire x Werewolf
Ruby smiled as she walked through the streets of Vale, her eyes looking at the windows of the buildings as she watched the sun set and keeping her umbrella open to provide enough shade until she could make it to the market before it closed for the night. It bothered her that she couldnt spend more time among the people that she protected, but she had made peace with that during her time at Beacon to become a huntress. She stopped at one of the stalls, carefully moving her umbrella to keep her hand in the shade as she reached for an apple and looked it over. “How much for four of them?”
“Three lien,” the merchant answered.
“Then I’ll take them,” Ruby said as she dug through her pocket to grab her card to pay. “And I’ll take a pound of strawberries too, please.”
The merchant nodded and started to bag the strawberries and apples. “You should hurry home before the sun sets. Its supposed to be a full moon tonight. You dont want to go missing like others last month.”
Ruby took the bag and looked up at the sky, watching the clouds as they moved overhead. “I think I’ll take my chances on that. I’m a huntress, so I can take care of myself.”
“Still, you’ll want to be careful. They say a monster lurks the streets.”
*Which is exactly why I want to be out here,* Ruby thought to herself as she walked away from the stalls, pulling out one of the apples and taking a bite. She paused for a moment, trying to savor the taste, though it didnt do much for her like it used to when she was younger. Still, it sated her enough to not have to feel like she had to feed on anyone and that was enough for her.
The sun finally set and the sounds of doors slamming shut filled the air of the empty streets. Ruby closed her umbrella and used her semblance to get to the top of the nearest building, rushing around in a flurry of bat-like petals that drifted in the air. She stopped her semblance once she reached her goal and closed her eyes to listen to the heartbeats of those that were near her. A racing heartbeat caught her attention and she lunged to action, nearly transforming into a bat mid semblance.
Once she reached the source of the heartbeat, she quickly ducked behind a building as she reformed from her semblance, fangs at the ready until she saw Blake staring at the night sky, waiting for a few clouds to move. “Blake?” Ruby asked as she pulled her fangs back. “Are you alright?”
“Y-yeah, everything is fine,” Blake said nervously as she turned around and gave a small smile, her eyes glancing between Ruby and the cloudy night sky. “What are you doing out here? I thought you’d be out on a mission for Ozpin.”
Ruby walked over to Blake and handed her an apple from her bag. “I got back last night. Just a quick search and destroy for some grimm that were causing problems for a village out near the border to Vacuo. Wasnt anything Yang and I couldnt handle quickly.”
Blake took the apple and stuffed it into a pocket as she went back to gazing at the clouds. “So why are you up so late? Out for your nightly stroll?”
“Something like that.” Ruby found a spot to sit down and looked up at the sky with Blake. “Rumor has it people are going missing. I want to find out what’s going on.”
“And… where did you hear that?”
Ruby paused for a moment as she heard Blake’s heart start to pound again, the heart beat almost calling to her. She licked her lips for a moment as her fangs instinctively started to show again. “From one of the merchants. What about you? Trying to do your usual stargazing?”
“S-something like that,” Blake said, her voice starting to grow shaky as she watched the clouds start to move and the first light of the moon start to show. “I… I need to go.”
“Wait Blake-” Ruby sighed as Blake took off running, using her semblance to jump around the rooftops. She took a deep breath and used her semblance to rush after Blake, dropping out periodically to keep to the rooftops. “Blake! Where are you going?!”
“You cant follow me!” Blake yelled out before finally stopping as the light of the moon hit her. “Shit… not now…”
Ruby finally caught up to Blake and slowly walked to her. “Blake, what’s going on? You’ve been avoiding me for months now, we never go stargazing anymore, never go on missions together… I’ve been missing you.”
Blake winced a bit as her bones started to crack as she shifted, her voice straining. “Ruby, you need to leave. Now.”
“Not until you tell me-” Ruby stopped as she watched Blake shift into a large wolf, taking a few steps back to take everything in as large, amber eyes stared back at her. “This… certainly explains a lot. Come on, we need to get you out of here before someone tries to hurt you.”
Blake whimpered a bit, backing up nervously.
Ruby followed her and gently pet her fur, letting her own fangs show. “I know a place in the forest we can go until the full moon is over. And then, you have a lot of explaining to do.”
