10. మనోఽచిరాత్స్యాద్విరజం జితశ్వాసస్య యోగినః| వాయ్వగ్నిభ్యాం యథా లోహం ధ్మాతం త్యజతి వై మలమ్॥

తాత్పర్యము : వాయువు సహాయముతో బంగారమును అగ్నిలో బాగుగా కాల్చినపుడు ఆ బంగారమునందలి మలినములు తొలగిపోవును. అదే విధముగా యోగి ప్రాణాయామము ద్వారా ప్రాణవాయువును జయించినచో, మనస్సులోని మాలిన్యములు నశించి, అది శీఘ్రముగ నిర్మలమగును.

వ్యాఖ్య : శ్వాసను గెలిచిన యోగికి, ఇలా ప్రాణాయామాదులతో ప్రారంభిస్తే త్వరలోనే మనసు స్థిరమవుతుంది, రజో గుణం లేకుండా అవుతుంది. మనసుకి పట్టిన మురికి పోతుంది. వాయువు అగ్నిని ప్రేరేపిస్తే, వాయువు ద్వారా ప్రేరేపించబడిన అగ్ని లోహం యొక్క మురికి పోగొడుతుది. అలాగే ప్రాణాయామముతో ఆయా మార్గములలో వెళ్ళినపుడు మనసు మురికి వదులుతుంది

10. mano 'cirāt syād virajaṁ jita-śvāsasya yoginaḥ vāyv-agnibhyāṁ yathā lohaṁ dhmātaṁ tyajati vai malam

MEANING : The yogīs who practice such breathing exercises are very soon freed from all mental disturbances, just as gold, when put into fire and fanned with air, becomes free from all impurities.

PURPORT : This process of purifying the mind is also recommended by Lord Caitanya; He says that one should chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. He says further, paraṁ vijayate: "All glories to Śrī Kṛṣṇa saṅkīrtana!" All glories are given to the chanting of the holy names of Kṛṣṇa because as soon as one begins this process of chanting, the mind becomes purified. By chanting the holy name of Kṛṣṇa one is cleansed of the dirt that accumulates in the mind. One can purify the mind either by the breathing process or by the chanting process, just as one can purify gold by putting it in a fire and fanning it with a bellows.

ఓం మానదాయ నమః | ॐ मानदाय नमः | OM Mānadāya namaḥ

స్వమాయయాత్మాభిమానం సర్వేషామప్య నాత్మసు । వాదదాతి స్వభక్తానామ్ సత్కారం మానమేనవా ॥ ఖణ్డయత్సాత్మాభిమానమ్ తత్త్వజ్ఞానామవాత్మసు । ఇతివా మానద ఇది శ్రీహరిః ప్రోచ్యతే బుధైః ॥

మానమును ఇచ్చువాడు, మానమును ఖండించువాడు మానదః అను రెండు వ్యుత్పత్తులును ఈ నామమునకు చెప్పదగును. ఈ రెండు వ్యుత్పత్తులకును భాష్యకారులు ఇచ్చు వివరణము ఇది. తన మాయచే ఎల్లవారికిని అనాత్మవస్తువుల విషయమున 'ఇది ఆత్మ' అను ఆత్మాభిమానమును కలిగించుచు ఉన్నాడు.

తత్త్వ వేత్తలకు మాత్రము అనాత్మవస్తు విషయమున ఆత్మాభిమానమును ఖండించును. తన భక్తులకు మాన సత్కారమును ఇచ్చును.

OM Mānadāya namaḥ

स्वमाययात्माभिमानं सर्वेषामप्य नात्मसु । वाददाति स्वभक्तानाम् सत्कारं मानमेनवा ॥ खण्डयत्सात्माभिमानम् तत्त्वज्ञानामवात्मसु । इतिवा मानद इदि श्रीहरिः प्रोच्यते बुधैः ॥

Svamāyayātmābhimānaṃ sarveṣāmapya nātmasu, Vādadāti svabhaktānām satkāraṃ mānamenavā. Khaṇḍayatsātmābhimānam tattvajñānāmavātmasu, Itivā mānada idi śrīhariḥ procyate budhaiḥ.

The name Mānadaḥ can be interpreted either as 'causes pride' or 'cuts off pride.' Scholars provide below reasoning to support the two possibilities.

By the power of His māya, He causes attachment as to the ātman to things which are not ātman.

He cuts off from the knowers of the Truth the thought of the ātman in what are not the ātman. He confers māna or prestige on His devotees.

మాయావి, మాయావులలో అగ్రేసురుడు అగు ఆ యతి స్నానదానాదులను, విశేషించి పర్వకాలములో చేయు స్నానదానాదులను ఖండించెను (53). ఓ బ్రాహ్మణ శ్రేష్ఠా! ఇన్ని మాటలేల? ఆ మాయావి త్రిపురములలో గలవేద ధర్ములన్నియూ దూరమగునట్లు చేసెను (54). పాతివ్రత్య ధర్మము ప్రధానముగా గల త్రిపురస్త్రీలు అందరు మోహితలై భర్తను శుశ్రూష చేయవలెననే ఉత్తమ బుద్ధిని విడనాడిరి (55). పురుషులు స్త్రీలను ఆకర్షించి వశము చేసుకొనే విద్యను నేర్చి మాయామోహితులై పరస్త్రీలయందు ఆ విద్యను సఫలమొనర్చిరి (56).

అంతఃపురస్త్రీలు, రాజకుమారులు, పౌరులు మరియు పురస్త్రీలు అందరు వాని శిష్యులచే మోహింప చేయబడిరి (57). ఇట్లు పౌరులందరు అన్ని విధములా స్వధర్మ విముఖులు కాగా అధర్మము తాండవించెను (58). దేవదేవుడగు విష్ణుప్రభుని ఆజ్ఞచే మాయ, మరియు అలక్ష్మి స్వయముగా త్రిపురములకు వెళ్లిరి (59). దేవతలకు ప్రభువగు బ్రహ్మ తపస్సునకు మెచ్చి ఏ లక్ష్మిని వారికి ఇచ్చినాడో, ఆ లక్ష్మి బ్రహ్మ గారి ఆజ్ఞచే వారిని విడిచి దూరముగా వెళ్లిపోయెను (60).

ఆ నారదుడు విష్ణువు యో��్క మాయచే నిర్మితమైన అట్టి బుద్ధి వ్యామోహమును వారికి క్షణకాలములో కలిగించి కృతార్థుడాయెను (61). ఆ మాయావి యగు యతి ఏ రూపములో నుండెనో, నారదుడు కూడ అదే రూపములో నుండెను. అయిననూ పరమేశ్వరుని ఆనుగ్రహముచే ఆయన బుద్ధిలో ఎట్టి వికారములు కలుగలేదు (62). ఓ మహర్షీ! అచట సోదరులిద్దరితో మరియు మయునితో కూడి యున్న ఆ రాక్షసరాజు యొక్క సామర్థ్యము శివుని సంకల్పముచే మొక్క వోయెను (63).

శ్రీ శివమహాపురాణములో రుద్రసంహితయందు యుద్ధ ఖండములో త్రిపురమోహనమనే అయిదవ అధ్యాయము ముగిసినది (5).

The heretic sage, an expert in wielding magic art, foremost among the deceptive, criticised the ceremonial ablutions and charitable gifts that are made on auspicious occasions.

O foremost among brahmins, why shall I dilate upon this topic? Suffice it to say that in the three cities every type of Vedic rites was completely stopped by that deceptive heretic sage.

The women of the three cities who were hitherto devotedly attached to their husbands were deluded and misguided and they abandoned their noble inclinations to serve their husbands.

The fascinated men practised rites of seduction and winning over and made their artifices fruitful in gaining other men’s wives.

The attendant maids in the haremss, the princes, the citizens and the ladies were perfectly enchanted by him.

Thus when the citizens became averse to virtuous rites and actions, evil reigned supreme.

At the bidding of lord Viṣṇu, his magic art and evil fortune visited the three cities.

The glory that they had acquired by the boon of Brahmā, the lord of the gods, went out forsaking them, at the behest of Brahmā.

Blessing them with the utter delusion of their intellect, perpetrated by the illusion of Viṣṇu, Nārada became contented.

Though Nārada and the heretic sage had been in that guise for long, they were not defiled, thanks to the benediction of lord Śiva.

As Śiva willed, O sage, the capacity of the ruler of the Asuras became stunted and thwarted as also of his brothers and Maya.

🕉. All the love in the world can be given to you, but if you decide to be miserable, you will remain miserable. And one can be happy, tremendously happy, for no reason at all--because happiness and misery are your decisions. 🕉

It takes much time to realize that happiness and misery are up to you, because it is very comfortable for the ego to think that others are making you miserable. The ego goes on making impossible conditions, and it says that first these conditions have to be fulfilled and only then can you be happy. It asks how can you be happy in such an ugly world, with such ugly people, in such an ugly situation?

If you see yourself rightly you will laugh about yourself. It is ridiculous, simply ridiculous. What we are doing is absurd. Nobody is forcing us to do it, but we go on doing it--and crying for help. And you can simply come out of it; it is your own game--to become miserable, and then to ask for sympathy and love. If you are happy, love will be flowing toward you … there is no need to ask for it. It is one of the basic laws. Just as water flows downward, and fire flows upward, love flows toward happiness … happiness wards.

*Benefits of Lalita Sahasranam*

Lalitha Sahasranama is taken from Brahmanada Purana and divided into three parts.

The first one is called ‘Poorva Bhaga’ the middle portion which is called ‘Stotra’ which consists of 1000 Namas (names) and the last portion is called ‘Uttara Bhaga’.

The Poorva Bhaga talks about its origin. The Uttara Bhaga gives details of the benefits of recitation of this Lalitha Sahasranamam.

Lalitha Sahasranamam came directly from Lord Shiva,who passed it to Nandi.From Nandi,it went to Lord Hayagriva and then to Sage Agasthiyar.

Maharishi Vyasa then conveyed it to the world.

It is more powerful than any forms of Tantra or Mantra.

Lord Hayagriva Chanted Laitha Saharasanamam with the purest intention - for liberation.

If chanted on full moon day , all diseases will vanish and long life will be guaranteed.

If chanted,you get benefits of taking 1 crore baths in the Ganges.

Gets the benefit of establishing 1 crore Lingas.

Gets benefit of feeding 1 crore Brahmins during a famine time.

Gets benefit of teaching 1 crore students.

If you have fever,just touch your head and chant these 1000 names,the fever would descend and vanish.

One has to become faithful by practicing the controlling process of the yoga system and must elevate himself to the platform of unalloyed devotional service by chanting and hearing about Me.

Yoga is practiced in eight different stages: yama, niyama, āsana, prāṇāyāma, pratyāhāra, dhāraṇā, dhyāna and samādhi. Yama and niyama mean practicing the controlling process by following strict regulations, and āsana refers to the sitting postures. These help raise one to the standard of faithfulness in devotional service. The practice of yoga by physical exercise is not the ultimate goal; the real end is to concentrate and to control the mind and train oneself to be situated in faithful devotional service. Bhāvena, or bhāva, is a very important factor in the practice of yoga or in any spiritual process.

(38).ఎవడైతే తల్లిదండ్రులను పూజించి ప్రదక్షిణము చేయునో వాడు భూమిని ప్రదక్షిణము చేసిన ఫలమును పొందుట నిశ్చయము (39). ఎవడైతే తల్లిదండ్రులను ఇంటిలో విడిచి పెట్టి తీర్థయాత్రలకు వెళ్లునో, వాడు తల్లి దండ్రులను హింసించిన వానికి కలిగే పాపమును పొందునని చెప్పుబడెను (40).

పుత్రునకు తల్లిదండ్రుల పాదపద్మములే గొప్ప తీర్థము. మరియొక తీర్థమును పొందవలెనన్నచో దూరప్రయాణము చేయవలసి యుండును (41). ఇది దగ్గరలో నున్న, తేలికగా లభించే, ధర్మమునకు సాధనమైన తీర్థము. పుత్రునకు తల్లిదండ్రులు, స్త్రీకి భర్త, ఇంటిలో లభ్యమయ్యే మంగళకరమగు తీర్థముల (42). వేదశాస్త్రములు నిరంతరముగా ఇట్లు చెప్పుచున్నవి. మీరిద్దరు ఆ వచనములను అసత్యము చేయవలయును గాబోలు! (43) అట్టి స్థితిలో మీ ఈ రూపము అసత్యమగును. అపుడు వేదము కూడా అసత్యమగును. ఈ విషయములో సందేహము లేదు (44).

Brahmā said:—

O sage, on hearing the words of Pārvatī and Śiva, Gaṇeśa, the storehouse of great intellect spoke thus.

Gaṇeśa said:—

By worshipping you, Pārvatī and Śiva, I have intelligently circumambulated the earth extending to the oceans.

Is it not the verdict of the Vedas or the Śāstras or any other sacred code? Is it true or otherwise?

“He who worships his parents and circumambulates them, will certainly derive the fruit and merit of circumambulating the earth.

He who leaves his parents at home and goes on a pilgrimage incurs the sin of their murder.

The holy centre of a son consists of the lotus-like feet of his parents. The other holy centres can be reached only after going a long distance.

This holy centre is near at hand, easily accessible and a means of virtue. For a son and wife, the auspicious holy centre is in the house itself.”

These things are mentioned frequently in the Śāstras and the Vedas. Now, are they going to be falsified by you?

If so, your very forms will come false. Even the Vedas will become false. There is no doubt about it.

🕉. Love is what works; the technique is just an excuse. The therapist works, not the therapy. 🕉

Sometimes with a man like Fritz Perls, the founder of Gestalt therapy, something starts happening. It is not Gestalt, it is the personality of the man-his tremendous courage, his tremendous compassion. He tries to help; he tries to reach the other person. But our logical minds say that it must be the Gestalt therapy that is helping; and that has been the fallacy through the ages. It is not Christianity that helps, it was Christ. It is not Buddhism, but Buddha. For twenty-five hundred years people have been thinking that it was Buddhism that helped people, but it was Buddha. If Buddha had been saying something different, that too would have been of help. Even if he had said just the opposite of whatever he said, then too it would have helped.

It was the life force of that man, his compassion and his love and his understanding that helped. But our minds immediately catch hold of the techniques, of the superficial. Then the superficial becomes important, and we lose contact with the essential. And there are problems: The essential cannot be taught, only-the non-essential can be taught. So you cannot teach Fritz Perls--you can only teach Gestalt. A Fritz Perls happens when he happens; there is no way to teach that! But society wants to be certain about something, so it starts teaching, and only the nonessential can be taught. So all teaching goes against the teacher, because the teacher brings the essential, and the teaching teaches the nonessential.

పంచకోశముల యందు వసించునది శ్రీమాత అని అర్థము. అన్నమయ, ప్రాణమయ, మనోమయ, విజ్ఞానమయ, ఆనందమయ కోశములుగ పంచకోశము లున్నవి. ఈ పంచకోశములును పంచభూతములతో నిర్మించబడినవి. ఇందు పంచతత్త్వములతో శ్రీమాత వసించి యున్నది. ఆకాశ గుణము, వాయు గుణము, అగ్ని తేజము, నీటి గుణము, పృథివీ గుణములు శ్రీమాత అస్థిత్వ కారణముగనే యేర్పడు చున్నవి.

పృథివికి గంధము, నీటికి రుచి, అగ్నికి తేజస్సు, వాయువునకు స్పర్శ, ఆకాశమునకు శబ్దము అను గుణములు యున్నవి. వీని యందు శ్రీమాతను దర్శించుట వలన పంచభూతములు, పంచ కోశముల ద్వారా ఆనందము కలిగించగలవు. ఈ కోశములు అపరిశుద్ధముగ నున్నచో ఆనంద ముండదు. పరిశుద్ధముగ నున్నప్పుడు ఒక దానిని మించి మరియొకటి ఆనందమిచ్చును.

It means Srimata who resides in Panchakoshams. Panchakosha consists of Annamaya, Pranamaya, Manomaya, Vijnanamaya and Anandamaya koshams. These panchakoshams are made up of panchabhutas. Sri Mata is residing here with Panchatattvam. Akasha Guna, Vayu Guna, Agni Teja, Water Guna and Earthly Guna are the causes of existence of Sri Mata.

Earth has sent, water has taste, fire has radiance, air has touch, sky has sound. Darshan of Sri Mata can bring happiness through panchabhutas and pancha koshams. If these koshams are impure, there is no happiness. When there is purity, one thing surpasses the other in giving Happiness.
