Meet the team!

So, while I set things up, I thought a short introduction might be in order! While we fight alongside many other pilots, our team consists of 5 pilots currently, a Loyal Wing and four Young Petrels (myself included). Oddly enough, despite the Albatross usually recruiting from within, all 5 of us were outsiders who joined for our own reason and ended up together.

Loyal Wing Sophia Abramowitz, "Blazing Sun" she/her, 48 - Our brilliant leader, who saved my life more times than I can count. It's thanks to her that I joined in the first place, and she somehow makes sure none of us get ourselves killed.

Young Petrel Roland Levi, "Bright Star", he/him, 28 - Yours truly, a brave and dashing knight of an ancient and honorable clan, currently exiled from our homeworld by an unsanctioned Harrison Armory colonial invasion. During this blog's uptime, you'll probably get to learn more about me as we go along.

Young Petrel Helena of House Umarit, "Crashing Comet", she/her, 30 - My beloved partner, closest friend, and the only human in the sector that can match Sophia at arm wrestling. She and I joined the Albatross together, after several years as independent Lancers. Apparently, she used to be a big shot Pankration Mekani champion back home.

Young Petrel Sergei Rabinovich, "Cosmos", he/they, ??? - The newest member of the team, and an odd fella overall. When he joined, they were wearing an ancient pre-Union space suit, and claim to remember events prior to the fall of old humanity. I have no clue if he's some sort of time traveler, hallucinating, or just fucking with us, but they're a good pilot so we kinda let him do their own thing.

Young Petrel Syonov Holloway, "Moonslice", she/her, 26 - An unhinged, reckless, severely danger-prone daredevil, and that's coming from a Nelson pilot. She was also a Pankrati fighter, from House Glass, and I think she and Helena have history. Constantly butting heads with Sophia over a million different things, my guess is she never had to take orders before joining. If she doesn't get herself killed, she'll probably be the first to assume command over a squad of her own one day.

And that's it, unless we get a new person sometime. Feel free to bother any of us, though Sergei doesn't know how to use the omninet, and Syonov is banned from the shared account for reasons best not disclosed.

yeah i don’t really know how we got here either.

hey uh. something occurred???? so yesterday i decided to try and resprite ralsei for funsies and i got really carried away. there’s 16 of these now. my friends are actively on their way to grab and shake me like orange juice. i have no self control.

this was partially a style test? i’ve got to get to the isat redraw sprites at some point (i promise i haven’t completely dropped the project) and i didn’t really like how Derivative the old mockups were? i wanted to figure out my pixel art style! and i think these helped! so that’s a win in my books. anyways go my sprites. there’s two because i didn’t have room for chara.

I have 12 different pilots in CompCon right now, all planned to LL6, none of which I’ve gotten the chance to use because I currently have nobody to play Lancer with. Also, something I like to do with my characters is always include some sort of unresolved hook in their backstory for GM’s to pull on down the road. I’ll just give three standouts:

Cerise ‘Longlegs’ Desroches: A spaceborn ignoble Karrakin salvage worker/serf-in-all-but-name who’s body has been warped massively (through both natural and artificial means) to cope with multiple generations of living almost exclusively in zero-g, and who got forcibly removed from the only community she’s ever known for daring to be implicated in unionization efforts. She’s 6’6”, has worryingly low blood pressure, and will shank the first noble she sees. Also, after 22 years of living almost entirely in zero-g, she still tends to forget that things usually fall when she lets go of them now. She has a Lancaster 3/Kidd 3 Fomorian Frame Taraxacum called ‘Spacewalker’ with a MULE Harness, a Cable Winch, Expanded Compartment, AND Forge-2 Subalterns so that she can be the battlebusiest battlebus to ever battlebus.

Kawasaki ‘Wildcat’ Sayuri: An ex-idol from an Armory world in the Dawnline Shore who got kicked out of her agency with zero warning and even less explanation when she turned 20. The agency publicly insisted that it was her choice while barring her not just from interviews, but from even seeing any of her idol friends. This was an even worse thing for her than it already sounds because she’s an orphan who was practically raised by the agency, and her manager sorta decided to get her addicted to Kick (a stim mentioned in the core rulebook) in order to (quoting directly from my CompCon notes here) “cope with being run ragged during idol training and as an extreme weight-loss measure” (on top of all the other gene mods and minor cosmetic surgery the agency already forced on her, like ‘natural’ glitter on much of her body). So, jobless, addicted, with no friends to turn to, and rapidly running out of money, she finally got a stroke of luck when she panicked and ended up hiding in an abandoned chassis during a raid by ‘pirates’ with a suspicious amount of training and Karrakin tech, and discovered that she both had a natural talent for mech combat and got concerningly horny whenever she tore somebody limb-from-limb. She gets a Tokugawa 3/Gilgamesh 2/Genghis 1 Enkidu called ‘Big Cat’ so she can go sicko mode with Lucifer, Plasma Gauntlet, Superthermal Blade, and Explosive Vents.

SSC-P-AP-42 ‘Four-Two’ Deer: AKA Smith-Shimano Corporation, Pilot, Amber Phantom, Number Forty-Two. ‘Deer’ is the name ‘he’ gave ‘himself’ (we’ll get back to that later) after escaping. The 42nd instance of a top secret, hyper illegal SSC super soldier program to create the optimal pilot for the Amber Phantom frame being developed in concert with the program (originally this character was gonna tied to the Dusk Wing, but then the Amber Phantom came out and the lore fit perfectly) in order to act as Constellar Midnights. Their body conforms to traditional SSC male beauty standards as closely as possible while still exactly fitting the dimensions and ergonomics of an Amber Phantom (or rather, they would look like that, if only they were properly fed). They ran away and (poorly) faked their death on a mission, and now they’re being pursued by an SSC asset retrieval team which they’re confident includes some of their ‘brothers’. Also, now that they’re thinking for themselves for the first time, they’re soon gonna have to deal with a gender crisis on top of all of this that’ll eventually result in them going from ‘he’ to ‘she’, but not without a whole lot of angst in the meantime. Obviously, they get a Metalmark 3/Mourning Cloak 3 Amber Phantom called ‘Apple’—nothing too fancy here, mostly giving her Mourning Cloak teleport shenanigans on top of the standard Metalmark invisibility shenanigans.

Hello and well met, people of the galaxy! After seeing so many other people opening accounts on this platform, it was decided that our team should make one too, just to see what happens. We are the Albatross fireteam 'Constellation', a small but devoted team of pilots sworn to answer the call, no matter the odds.

I'll be honest, I have no idea what to expect here, but feel free to ask us anything, and maybe we'll get in an argument with someone once in a while that will be amusing to watch, I guess.

This account will mostly be managed by myself, the handsome fella in the profile picture, but if you have a question to any of my teammates, I can relay your messages or have them take over for a bit. I think that's it, so let's see where this goes!
