Do you think for your mad scientist Au, Sodapop is okay with what Ponyboy did to Darry? How did he react? And also, Does Ponyboy ever regret his decision of reviving his friends? Why doesn’t he revive his parents? Does Ponyboy ever get caught by the police? Does Sodapop mess up on his job, and if he does how does Ponyboy react?
I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS THAT NEED ANSWERS.
I feel so corny writing this 🤤
Sodapop isn’t incredibly… sure what’s happening? I guess? Like he knows about the revivals and stuff, but he isn’t really big on details because it grosses him out. He’s aware that Darry’s a killer but he’s not aware that it’s not by choice.
He was a lot like Darry where he wasn’t cool with it at all until Pony mentioned bringing their folks back.
Ponyboy does not regret reviving his friends at all. Even though they all hate him for it and constantly talk about wanting to die, he thinks he’s helping them. At first it was kinda of just ‘I’m going through some sort of psychosis and need closure” to “I’m a god I can bring people back from the dead, hallelujah’
And with his parents… however he revives them (I was thinking like the Re-Agent from Reanimator) only works on fresh bodies (I think Herbert went through that too, I haven’t seen the movie in a while). And obvi his parents died way before he figured it out becuase he’s not he wasn’t actually a scientist (lowk still isn’t, luck is on his side I guess).
The AU is set in like the 30s/40s, and if you know anything about asylums around that time they were HORRIFIC. Police already don't really care as long as he keeps the crazies locked away. The main people who think there’s something going on are like college students or activists, I guess?? And most of the time Soda’s able to sweet talk them into going away.
Also Soda is like easily the least coordinated when it comes to the Curtis’s. He messes up 24/7 (he’s the reason Dallas can escape so often, and more often than not causes Darry to have to go back out cus he dropped something), but Pony can’t really let him go because he thinks Soda’s gonna snitch.
And while Ponyboy still loves his brothers, he’s like lowkey a little crazy. He’s downright evil tbh. He defiantly has some sort of explosive dissorder, and when he gets mad he gets MAD.
also someone on Tiktok asked why Johnny’s got the blue eye. Realistically I’m just gonna say Darry snatched it from Bob because let’s be real he doesn’t need both. Also he can not see out of it or move it, it’s just kinda of cosmetic (though it’s absolutely disgusting and Johnny hates it)
anyway if anyone has anymore questions lemme know… this is kinda fun
I’m working on cherry and Marcia designs (they’re nurses btw), and maybe some of like Bob and Randy if I get bored

This One Really Missed
They would usually cook so hard with these games but they burned down the kitchen this time I'm afraid.
Lenght/Playtime:
Too short. Too little options. The flow chart of this game is pathetic and can't compare to the other 2. It felt like watching a movie.
Price:
Too expensive, my localized price was 8 bucks but I learned the original is 15 from steam reviews. If you really wanna buy the game wait for a sale, the price is unacceptable for this little decision making and 5 endings total.
Humour:
I only laughed out loud at one joke.
One.
And that was the Hat Man joke. Most of the jokes did not land this time.
The original games had this thing where the dark jokes regarding really sensitive topics (racism, homophobia, slavery, xenophobia, abuse...) landed because they had added context. Like:
- "I thought our photography teacher was a pedophile but turns out he is a white supremacist. That's not... better"
- "Uncircumcised men are gross because the media told me so, I am a teenage girl in late 2000s."
- Every straight person in school accusing Nicole of homophobia and talking over Ari because she got rejected when Ari is only angry that Nicole was mean about it.
- Jeffrey pretending to be a white nationalist, entering a straight club etc. not because his beliefs but because he desperately wants to fit in.
- That whole scene of Nicole's mom screaming at her under medicine influence about how she steals stuff from her medicine cabinet. Then Nicole, after a really morbid argument where she plays the victim to the audience, reveals that she does indeed steal her mom's meds.
- The whole route of Nicole bullying Jeffrey into being a school shooter got kicked off by Jeffrey being creepy in general.
and the list goes on.
The dark jokes had twists which made them funny. In Flip Side someone says something stereotypical or generally morbid out of nowhere and follow it with "I am not racist" or barely any acknowledgement. The biggest examples of this I can think of are the Turkish creep stereotype and the whole FYE ending.
They actually made an '09 game parodying the original. This game is what the series' haters think the first 2 games are.
The.. Feet Stuff..:
I swear it was funny at first, with social commentary and all. But then it kept dragging... and dragging...
Then I realized almost half of the game was dedicated to foot stuff. Cool...
Are the writers aware that all those minutes wasted could've gone to an ending with Jecka's mom whom she kept talking about in the first game?
Jecka:
They should rename Flip Side to "Pity Jeckainator 5000" because holy shit poor girl. The overall game was more bleak and sad than funny. Jecka breaks down sobbing multiple times and no one helps her.
Jecka's Father:
I don't know what they were trying to do with Jecka's father but none of his scenes were funny. In fact it was extremely triggering because I got treated like Jecka in the past by multiple people. Jecka is severely jittery, jumpy and horrified at the smallest yelling. She breaks down crying a lot yelling "don't hit me" and I do not see what purpose repeating her father's screaming at every scene with him serves if it isn't meant to be funny. There were literally times where I went "oh here we go again" and took of my headphones before he started screaming at her.
Nicole:
Guys Nicole is severely out of character in one of the foot fetish routes. I don't care if she is supposed to be a sociopath, that is not Nicole. Sociopaths can still separate right from wrong, they are still people so the "Nicole is a sociopath" argument I keep seeing holds no merit here.
Nicole has shown that she is capable of admitting to her mistakes in the prison ending of re-up.
Also lets put aside her mutual respect for Jecka and pretend Nicole doesn't know her at all. That still feels out of character for her. Think about it. Why does Nicole go after older men when she does?
- She is in danger and needs to act. (Coach Colby route)
- She has no other choice. (The route where her mom kicked her out)
- She is trying to get them arrested. (Her luring one of the faculty outside to get arrested)
Why would she, for no reason whatsoever, go after Jecka's dad?
You would argue that Nicole is a petty person from the Megan-Hunter route, but Megan made Nicole snap. She got provoked. Same with the Ari route. Ari was severely fucked up herself. What did Jecka do?
"I can't cut you in, I need this money Nicole"
That's it? Nicole already mentioned she was selling shoplifted goods as well so what is her objective here if not money?
Emily would do this(which she did), not Nicole, Nicole wouldn't bother. It's too much useless effort. They confused their own characters.
The Text from SBN3:
I am not gonna elaborate but that was so insane, wild and immature.
Some Stuff I Liked:
-Seeing Jecka's side of the first game suicide ending was cool.
-I actually liked the FYE route... until I didn't in the last 5 minutes of it.
-The Hat Man bit was seriously funny.
-The illustrations improved.
But yeah overall... Jecka deserved better than this game. I do not hate it for the small stuff I liked it for, but I will still try to pretend this never existed.
If you are here thank you for reading all of it. I usually don't do game reviews, I hope I didn't ramble too much

Howdy! First: I'm that anon that was asking about how trans works in WWC. And now that i read the updated version wanted to say - you really did a great job! It feels very smooth, natural and wholesome. WWC is in the very top of my favorites. I admire your dedication, writing and how it makes me even more hooked with every update. You are awesome! Second: I found something that's probably bug - When Imre, Lorcan and trans-mc(that came out to either of them) go to see Croun's dad, boys refer to mc by new name and pronounce but after leaving Nia's house they are back to deadname and old pronounce. Last: Mr.Mir, his lingering, greasy comments to young mc, about baggy clothes and girls bodies. It made me gag. Wanna crush every bone in this man's body and his balls.
Note: So I got this a few days ago before the trans code update
Thank you once again I really was stressing about trying to not only make Crowny’s journey to acceptance seem natural but also how they would admit it to themself and/or the ROs
Yeah so what’s interesting is that depending on your Crowny’s gender the comments he makes change. If you’re amab you probably get the least gross things (still gross though) but oh boy if you’re afab 🙃
What’s so awful about this time period is that these comments were the norm, it wasn’t seen as something perturbing but just observations grown men made and so he could have certain proclivities or be a “normal” man of his time. And that’s the thing I like about being able to write time period IFs. I try not to fall into nostalgia and romanticization because these eras were not kind to lgbt+, women or minorities. I recently read a book dismantling how the 90s were not girl-power spice girl paradise but rather the reason sexism, homophobia and transphobia is the way it is today
It’s never going to be gratuitous because that’s just torture porn but it will show up sometimes. Like yeah the 90s were cool but not that cool

Hi!! I don't know if you remember me, but I'm the person you explained the Castalia thing to a few days ago. I've been following you for a while now, but I just managed to go through your blog well and proper, and I'm here to express both my gratitude for the amount of info and links you've shared (I did NOT know about the hepatoscopy and haruspicy, and I'm about to go down a lengthy rabbit hole) and my horror at once again being given a new hyperfixation (I didn't imagine wanting to read about liver-divination help).
Also, also, are you the author of Exeunt Phoebus Apollo on AO3 because that was the fic that sent me on this greek mythology spree, and it's so good I got obsessed with Apollo, and he's everywhere around me now. Thank you for writing it!
AAAAAA THIS IS SO SWEET?? THANK YOU!! I do remember you and hey man, I'm always happy to help <33
I'm so glad to recruit someone else to my hepatoscopy group because it is a long and storied tradition with many many different types of study and schools of thought dating all the way back to the Sumerians! It's an extremely underrated bit of study when it comes to sketching portraits of divination and prophecy when it comes to adaptations of imaginings of greek myth works - similar to bird augury (which was such a widespread skill that most people had some level of understanding of the basics of what the omens of common birds meant the way people now can look at the clouds over head and know if it'll rain and when approximately that rain'll happen).
It's a great and common misunderstanding that things like prophecy and magic were these fantastic elements that had no tangible features to their practices and while there's nothing wrong with interpreting things as more fantastical for the sake of coolness or aesthetic, I personally think these elements are interesting enough to be worth looking into and portraying!
Also yes, I did write Exeunt 😳I'm very very honoured that you enjoyed my work so much and I'm even more grateful that it could let you see the Apollo in everything 💖 Thank you for reading it!!
