I haven’t felt good about anything I’ve drawn in months and finally today I sketched out something I feel good about. Dandadan is such a good series 10/10 recommend checking out.

Hey! How do you get so much variation in your line work, it gives brush pen vibes and I love it! Do you use the default settings in procreate or have you adjusted them to be more sensitive or something?

The only thing I ever really edit for linework brushes is to turn off stabilizers, I think it creates a more traditional line work look which I try to do with my art.

In my more current methods, I use a kind of more painterly method to my lines- I go over places I want to create depth by darkening them, or to distinguish objects from one another by bolding the subject that’s closer to the viewers lines - good for helping with focus too.

I also draw on lower opacity purposefully, helps build up those darks more as well as if I’m unhappy with the boldness at the end I can always just duplicate the linework layer and play with the opacity of the second lineart layer till I’m happy with it.

Previously I use to use the Shale brush under the calligraphy section, it definitely taught me to be more confident in my linework and I used it more like traditional inks/brush pen.
