Exhaustion day 25...I almost let it get to me today but just like every other day I had to continue reminding myself that Pcos is just a part of me it doesn't own me or control me. #livingwithpcos #pcos #Cyster https://www.instagram.com/p/Bty4UIAlGDW/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=h3y0m42gl08o

Many woman today struggle with PCOS, I am one of them. And so many go through life undiagnosed and wonder what is wrong with them. Awareness must be raised. The condition is chronic and life long. Don't let your Doctor brush you aside, demand more info, force them to educate themselves on this as well as to educate you. I highly recommend this book! #pcosfighter #pcos #pcosawareness #livingwithpcos https://www.instagram.com/kay_karate/p/Bq-455iAPfl/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=9ornjpmyrba5

I think she knows I don't feel well. I haven't off and on since February. I've been to my GP, a Gynecologist, and a Hematologist. I've been told the pain has been IBS, symptoms of my PCOS, and just normal fluctuations due to inflammation. I've had 3 separate blood drawls, 1 was yesterday and I haven't got the results but the others showed slightly elevated white blood cells and platelets. Today the pain woke me out of sleep at 2 and 3 am. I lay awake in pain for an hour before falling back asleep at 4am. I still went to work because I've been in pain for months. Today it got so bad I was crying at my desk and I let Luke take me to the ER. After lots of poking, prodding, more blood and ultrasounds, I finally got an answer. I have a UTI, a bacterial infection and a cyst on my left ovary. It's probably what has been wrong this whole time according to the ER nurse. I kept telling my doctor's something was wrong, they wouldn't listen. #LivingWithPCOS #PCOS #ervisit #hernameiswaffles #catsofinstagram

Midwife, T-minus 17 days and counting
Do you ever dread doctors appointments? Every single one I've had in the last year has just been terrible. From my PCOS diagnosis to my thyroid and pituitary issues, to pre-diabetes to insulin resistance and hair loss and the list goes on. I have my next appointment with my midwife on April 20th to do another round of blood work and to check my weight. If I haven't lost enough she wants me to go to a new thyroid doctor and have him prescribe a weight loss supplement to me. She wanted me to be down 60lbs from October 2016 to now (April 2017) and I know I'm not there. I haven't even stepped on a scale since November so I have no clue how much I weight. Mainly the weight issue is to reverse the pre diabetes and to help me ovulate naturally again. I've gotten 2, count 'em, TWO periods last month and this month not brought on by birth control for the first time since I was 14 years old. I think it's because of how active I've been at the gym recently. And I know I've lost weight but I don't know how much, I know it's not 60lbs or I'd be in the clothes I was in from high school four years ago. *sigh* I'm trying to remain positive and focus on my nonscale victories, I can run farther faster than I ever have post high school and I can lift heavier things than I EVER could. And I don't have much fatigue anymore which is great! I'm drinking more water, on a vitamin regimen, and I'm eating better normally than I used to. From today until at least my midwife appointment I'm doing low carb meals so I drop a little more weight before I see her. Fingers crossed that I'm in a positive direction for once and that I won't have to take anymore meds :/ I know the thyroid medication they would wanna put me on to lose weight is a medication that once you start taking it you aren't able to stop for the rest of your life and the thought of being tied to pills everyday multiple times a day for the rest of my life scares the hell out of me. Okay, I'm done venting. Fingers crossed and good vibes appreciated y'all. Xoxo, Kay

It’s important to me that y’all know my hair does not normally look so great 😂 I’m wearing clip in extensions in this photo. You see i have struggled with thin hair my entire life but since getting PCOS it has gotten worse. If I’m being really real with you, I’d admit to spending hours online looking at various wigs/extension options. My hair is a sensitive spot for me which is why I started this off the way I did. I can only wish my hair naturally looked like this everyday. It’s not great having thin hair but I’m choosing to make the best of it as opposed to mourning over it & letting it bring me down. What’s something you’re making the best of? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #midwestjess #missouri #midwest #excelsiorsprings #lifestyleblogger #followalong #midwestgirl #girlboss #adayinthelife #scsister #scsisters #midwestblogger #asseenonme #discoverunder5k #iginfluencersunite #sallys #extensions #hair #clipins #clipinextensions #pcos #livingwithpcos #pcosfighter #hairextensions #pcosawareness #humanhair #wednesday #psblogger #psootd #plussizefashion (at Excelsior Springs, Missouri) https://www.instagram.com/p/BusPL0FB-bI/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1uiv3a4ny8qaz
