Riveria: How do you feel about children? Bete: They’re okay, I guess. I mean, if I saw one, I wouldn’t throw a rock at it Riveria: Why would you throw a rock at a child? Bete: I just said I wouldn’t!

“We talked it out, in bed,” Aiz said, with Riveria nodded. “And he turned it down due to personal concerns and other issues that were more important to him than joining any Familia.” Aiz replied, looking over at her lover with Riveria smiling in his direction.

✈ - an eye-opening memory
Ohhh thank you so so MUCH for sending an ask!!!
I thought about this one for a moment and it felt really Kjat appropriate! However, in this memory Kjat is he/him and goes by Ljos, her dead name. it is a memory, after all!
In short: Ljos and his then-fiance, Darvana, are being affectionate and sweet just as young couples do and Darvana calls him out on the scent of his hair in a particular way~
✈ - an eye-opening memory
A rhythm of kissing still in the process of being learned, there is a breathy laugh shared between the young couple as they part with a sweet flush. A nuzzle of noses, tilting in all the right angles to ensure connection and affection, Ljos had never believed that he’d experience such tenderness. In fact, he’d doubted that one could feel and express so softly at all for his life has been nothing but aggression and survival.
But being with Darvana he.. he feels safe, he feels as if there is no need to fight, to put up a frigid front.
Guard dropped, he can’t help but to giggle and chutt as his partner begins to dot kisses up his nose.. bare now but soon it will be inked with the symbol and hue of their love.
“You’re so cute..”
Darvana whispers, causing Ljos’ flush to go all the more stark.. as if it weren’t obvious with his pale tone to begin with.
Such compliments are awkward but.. he accepts it nonetheless and perhaps deeper than he should.
Ever one to be quiet especially when caught abashed, he simply says nothing..
Which has never bothered Darvana for she loves that he can at least express himself at all with her..
She laughs along with him, his bubbling sounds contagious..
And encouraging for her to continue with her doting.. for now she begins to trail her lips into the bangs that curl along his forehead.
Tender presses.. then encircling nuzzles into her hair.. there is a soft inhale.. then.. another.. her nose twitching in the messy locks of blonde..
“Heh..”
Darvana chuckles.. whispering against Ljos’ forehead..
“What a sweet scent you carry.. much like a girl, it’s so natural..”
A comment like that has Ljos’ heart halting in all it’s thumps for there is a genuine moment of fear..
For it feels unacceptable.. to have such a scent for he should, instead, either have none or, at the very least, a musk to him..
He expects to be met with rejection or mockery for scent /is/ important to their culture’s way of romance but instead..
He is embraced.. Muscled arms and towering height swallowing the veena whole to surround him in love and safety.. he.. succumbs to her as she inhales.. listening as she whispers into the curls of his lopped, inner ear..
“I love it..”

Another week, another pretty OK Wistoria episode.
Will meets an underclassman here with the fairly incredible name Iris Churchill. Initially she seems like any other bumbling student, and Will spends the majority of this episode helping her defeat a giant ice monster. However, because Wistoria knows every trick in the fantasy book, Iris is actually a double agent for the Magia Vander and is scouting for promising students for what *seems* to be some kind of upcoming confrontation between the wizards and the angels that were mentioned back in episode 1, the ones that live "beyond the sky."
This whole plot is the most interesting thing Wistoria has going for it so far. It's still hardly original, and when we meet the Magia Vander here they too all fall into classic archetypes (most obvious with the haughty elf[?] sorceress Alf Ellenor Ljos), but it's at least decently compelling. Iris herself seems to have some kind of Thing™ going on with Elfie, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's more to the both of them than is obvious here, even taking the little twists we've been shown so far into account.
Oh, one other thing I did appreciate. When Will gears up to head to the dungeon (and we briefly meet his artificer friend Rosty), they draw him ripped as hell while he's changing his shirt. I applaud the lack of cowardice, it would've been really easy to just make him look nondescript there.

Scottish Gaelic Some Phonology
Ø = not pronounced
The reason I am using that symbol is to show the vowel is simply used to show that the consonant not palatalised, and the vowel is not pronounced as an independent sound
I have not posted for a long time. This is just to show my most recent language learning adventure. These are just brief notes. I may update as I learn more Gaelic. If you're also learning Scottish Gaelic, it would be nice to meet you. The following phonology notes are mostly personal and cater to my personal way of understanding the phonology vs spelling relationship in this language and thus is more like a personal diary/ journal rather than a learner's guide.
Feumaidh na h-oileanaich an leabhar a leughadh "The students must read the book"
feumaidh /’feːmɪ/ "must" fut. of feum /feːm/ < OI feidm "effort" < *wedesman
feumaidh mi "I must",
leabhar /’ʎo.əɾ/ < OI lebor < L. liber
leughaidh /’ʎeːvəɣ/ < leugh /ʎeːv/ < OI légaid < L. legō
fedm /*fjeː-ð-em/ > *fjeːØm > feum, u = Ø
liber > lebor /*lje-BβBr B=back vowel/ non-palatal > ljV-w-Vr; Vw > o > ljo-Vr

Hello! I'm going to be over on bsky for more casual stuff, FFXIV posting, and art. I feel guilty not being very social on this blog, but it was made to be more of an archive for Ljo content than a base of any kind. I also have an invite sitting around if anyone would want, mutual or not!
