Re: wedding location following - just to offer a different angle, I work in tv and when we shoot somewhere or locationscout we also follow venues, so it could have been a work related follow if true? that would only make sense if they filmed there for big mood though and I haven’t seen it yet, so I don’t know. Rezension Faszination Waldfotografie

Kilian Schönberger besuchte die schönsten Wälder Deutschlands und fertigte dabei beeindruckende Fotografien an. Sein dabei erworbenes Wissen hat er nun in seinem Buch Faszination Waldfotografie im Rheinwerk Verlag veröffentlicht. Von der Ausrüstung über Fototechniken bis hin zur Suche des richtigen Ortes und der Bildgestaltung kann nun der fotografisch Interessierte Schritt für Schritt lernen, was er für faszinierende Waldfotos braucht.

In seinem Buch zeigt uns der Naturfotograf an zahlreichen Beispielen, wie man das eigene Auge für perfekt komponierte Bilder schult. Denn Waldfotografie ist mehr als das Ablichten von Bäumen. Diese Erkenntnis schlägt sich auch im vorliegenden Buch wieder. Warum nicht auch kleine Pflanzen, Pilze, Moose oder Waldstrukturen wie Äste oder Steine fotografieren? In elf Kapiteln beschäftigt sich Kilian Schönberger mit dem Thema Waldfotografie. In seinen Kapiteln zeigt er mit seinen eigenen Fotoaufnahmen, dass seine Tipps goldrichtig sind. Inhalt des Buches

Teil I Technik und Komposition - Inspiration - Ausrüstung für die Waldfotografie - Wetter, Licht und Tageszeiten - Waldtypen und Baumarten in Deutschland - Bildkompositionen - Locationscouting - Fototechniken - Vom Wald in die digitale Dunkelkammer Teil II Waldlandschaften zwischen Küste und Alpen - Von Windflüchtern und Buchenkathedralen - Von Hutewäldern und Naturwäldern - Bäume am Limit Wie fast jedem "Lehrbuch" über Fotografie fehlt in Faszination Waldfotografie nicht das Kapitel über die richtige Ausrüstung. Der Autor gibt auch hier Tipps zu Brennweiten, Kameras, Objektive und die mehr oder minder nötige Zusatzausrüstung wie Foto-Rucksack, Filter und mehr. Natürlich werden die Risiken bei der Waldfotografie angesprochen. Ebenso die notwendige Rücksichtnahme auf die Natur. Das ist auch bei Naturfotografen leider nicht mehr selbstverständlich. Auch die Einflüsse des Wetters, des jeweiligen Lichtes und der Tageszeiten kommen zur Sprache. Im Kapitel Bildkomposition werden die gängigen Gestaltungsregeln, wie die Drittelregel oder der goldene Schnitt behandelt. Ebenfalls erfährt der aufmerksame Leser einiges über Symmetrie, über Sensor- und Bildformate und das fotografische Sehen.

Neu für ein Foto(lehr)buch ist wohl der Aspekt, dass im Buch auch die Motive vorgestellt und behandelt werden. Das geht meiner Meinung nach schon deutlich über die sattsam bekannten Empfehlungen von Hotspots der Fotografie hinaus. Was ist Urwald, was ist wilder Wald, was ist ein Wirtschaftswald und sind auch Monokulturen und Fichtenplantagen fotogen? Dem Thema wie finde ich gute Orte zum Fotografieren wird im Kapitel Locationscouting Platz eingeräumt. In Fototechniken beschäftigt der Autor sich u.a. mit der hyperfokalen Distanz, der offenen Blende, Wischer und weiterer Techniken. Ebenfalls wird in einem eigenen Kapitel das Arbeiten in der digitalen Dunkelkammer wie Lightroom und Photoshop behandelt. Das Thema im Teil II des Buches liegt bei den Waldlandschaften zwischen Küste und Alpen. Hier werden ausgewählte Landschaften vorgestellt: zum Beispiel das Marschland an der Nordseeküste,, das flache Land in der Kölner Bucht, die Seenlandschaften in Mecklenburg, der Harz, die alten deutschen Märchenwälder wie der Reinhardswald, der Hainich, die Rhön bis hin zum Fichtelgebirge, Schwarzwald und natürlich die Alpen. Ein sehr schöner und umfassender Überblick über vieles, was einem Naturfreund und Waldfotografen in unserer Heimat im Wald alles begegnen kann. Meine Meinung Im nahegelegen Wald neue Sichtweisen ausprobieren. Dieser Aufforderung von Kilian Schönberger komme ich gern nach. Nicht nur, weil ich den Wald seit meiner frühestens Kindheit kenne. Zu jeder Jahreszeit hat der Wald seine eigenen Reize. Immer wieder kann man hier neues entdecken. Auch wenn mancher Baum mehr als 1.000 Jahre an seinem Fleck steht. Gut finde ich am Buch, dass es eine Symbiose ist zwischen einem Fotolehrbuch und einem Naturentdeckungsbuch. Der Autor erzählt neben seinen praxisbezogenen Tipps zur Fotografie viel über den Lebensraum Wald. In all seinen Verschiedenheiten. Neben dem fotografischen Wissen und den Techniken werden so noch viele weitere wissenswerte Tipps im Buch weitergegeben. Und nicht zu vergessen: natürlich die vielen mit viel Herzblut entstandenen Fotos, die im Buch gezeigt werden. Neben den hervorragend eingefangenen Waldgefühlen sidn diese Fotos quasi gleich die praktische Umsetzung der im Buch gegebenen Tipps. Für mich ist dieses Buch ein Ansporn mehr, wieder öfters hinaus in den Wald zu gehen, die Sichtweise zu wechseln und meine eigene Fotografie zu verbessern.
