F-16 fighter jets which the Netherlands is giving to Ukraine will arrive in neighboring Romania by mid November.
Lockheed Martin is opening a training center in Romania just in time for this.
Lockheed’s new F-16 training center in Romania could train Ukrainians
The F-16s from the Netherlands are just a few of the total NATO countries are giving to Ukraine. 👍🏼
The sooner the occupied territories are liberated, the sooner the war will end.

My USAF Thunderbirds photos from Aerospace Valley Air Show 2022, Edwards Air Force Base, California. I”m a novice at aviation photography but I’m already addicted. I used to go to air shows all the time when I was a kid and I never thought I could ever recapture the wonder I felt but I was so wrong. The magic of flight is forever real. This was the best event I’ve ever attended in my life.

The F-16 Fighting Falcon
Tumblr media
Full power, liftoff and climb to desired altitude. A phenomenal, maneuverable flying machine, still the most favored aircraft to fly by many military pilots. Introduced in the '70s, the F-16 Fighting Falcon continues to be a cornerstone of many air forces around the world due to its exceptional performance, versatility, and relatively low operating costs.
Tumblr media
It travels up to Mach 2, maintains a 350 mile (550 Km) battle radius, service ceiling of approximately 50,000 ft (15,300 m), and it climbs with the General Electric F110-GE-129 turbofan fully opened at a rate of 50,000 ft/min (15,300 m/min), so this "elevator" can take its passenger to 50,000 ft altitude in about a minute.
Tumblr media
Many pilots prefer the F-16 Fighting Falcon for its design, performance, versatility, and technology. Its exceptional agility, thanks to aerodynamic design and fly-by-wire control, allows for precise handling. The powerful engine enables high speeds and impressive climb rates, making it effective in both air-to-air and air-to-ground combat. The bubble canopy offers 360-degree visibility, and the ergonomic cockpit, with a side-stick controller, enhances comfort during high-G maneuvers.
Tumblr media
As a multirole fighter, the F-16 can perform various missions and carry diverse weapons. Advanced avionics and a fly-by-wire system improve stability and maneuverability. Cost-effective and reliable, with over 4,600 units built, the F-16 is widely used and trusted. Extensive pilot training and positive experiences further solidify its preference among military pilots.
Tumblr media
Although it is officially known as the Fighting Falcon, the General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin) F-16 is commonly referred to by the nickname 'Viper' - a name that was applied due to the popularity of the 1970s Battlestar Galactica TV series and its 'Colonial Viper' fighters.
Tumblr media
An interesting and lesser-known fact about the F-16 Fighting Falcon is that it was the first production aircraft intentionally designed to be aerodynamically unstable. This design choice, known as "relaxed static stability," enhances the aircraft's maneuverability. By being inherently unstable, the F-16 can achieve quicker and more agile movements, which are essential in dogfighting scenarios.
Tumblr media
The advanced fly-by-wire control system continuously adjusts control surfaces to maintain stability, allowing the pilot to focus on the mission rather than constant manual adjustments. This innovative approach marked a significant advancement in fighter aircraft design and has influenced many subsequent aircraft developments.
Tumblr media
Due to its nimble design and capability, the Falcon can sneak in, low, over the terrain to key targets and objectives by evading discovery, thus maintaining a near-zero visibility by enemy radar equipment.

Stockholm is donating its remaining pair of long-serving ASC 890 airborne early warning (AEW) aircraft, a platform based on the Saab 340 regional airliner and equipped with an Erieye active, electronically scanned array radar. The move aims to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses and complement a soon-to-be-delivered Lockheed Martin F-16 combat aircraft fleet. The ASC 890s will give Ukraine’s air defenses an all-seeing eye across the theater, provide timely information about incoming air attacks and transmit situational data to the F-16s via Link 16.
This is a puzzle piece that will make F-16s very, very effective.

Full communique with informational slides below: NEW YORK. NAKBA DAY, MAY 15 LOCKHEED MARTIN KILLS! FUCK THE CEO JAMES TAICLET! Early in the morning of May 15, in commemoration of Nakba Day and in honor of all the martyrs murdered by Lockheed Martin weapons, an autonomous group targeted the NYC residence of the CEO James Taiclet, located at 139 Wooster Street in Soho. The entrance was splattered with red paint as blood and messages of “Lockheed Martin kills” and “fuck the CEO James Taiclet” were written on the exterior. Lockheed Martin is the worlds largest imperialist weapons manufacturer, and it supplies the IOF with AGM-114 Hellfire missiles as well as F-16 and F-35 fighter jets that are being used extensively to bomb Gaza. From Iraq, to Afghanistan, to Yemen, to the US-Mexico Border, Lockheed Martin commits global genocide funded by billions of the US government tax dollars. Lockheed Martin has nothing but a legacy of death and destruction around the world. In an October 17 investor meeting, James Taiclet (the chairman, president, and CEO of Lockheed Martin) bragged that the genocide in Gaza would be a “potential driver for increased revenue in the coming years.” As we witness another Nakba onfolding, this action is a reminder that war criminals live amongst us, and a warning to all genocide profiteers: OUR BRIGADES ARE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR YOU. FROM THE CAMPUS, TO THE DOORSTEPS: ITS TIME TO ESCALATE! FREE RAFAH! FREE GAZA! FREE PALESTINE!

NASA’s Quesst mission has postponed the inaugural flight of its X-59 quiet supersonic aircraft to 2024. The X-59, an extraordinary experimental aircraft, has posed intricate engineering challenges for NASA researchers collaborating with the primary contractor, Lockheed Martin Skunk Works. Apart from its unique design, the X-59 incorporates innovative technology and components from various established aircraft, including its landing gear from an F-16 and its life-support system adapted from an F-15.
Additional time is required to integrate systems into the aircraft
Given the complexities involved in developing this exceptional aircraft, the Quesst team is diligently addressing several technical issues identified during the course of 2023, when the X-59 was initially slated for its maiden flight. Additional time is required to seamlessly integrate systems into the aircraft and ensure their proper functioning. The team is also resolving intermittent problems with some of the safety-redundant computers that oversee the aircraft’s systems.
Over the past year, Quesst has made consistent progress towards flight readiness. The team completed the finishing touches on the X-59’s tail structure, allowing them to finalize its electrical wiring and advance to critical ground tests. They also moved the aircraft from its assembly facility to the flight line for structural testing.
The X-59’s primary objective is to demonstrate the capability to achieve supersonic flight, exceeding the speed of sound, while minimizing the typical disruptive sonic boom to a subdued sonic thump. NASA intends to conduct flights over several communities to collect data on how people perceive the noise it generates. This data will be provided to U.S. and international regulators to potentially revise regulations that currently prohibit commercial supersonic flight over land.

Fully committed to a meticulous review and testing process
NASA places paramount importance on safety and mission success. For Quesst, this entails ensuring the X-59’s safety before it takes flight and ensuring its long-term reliability during the community test phase. The aircraft is currently undergoing comprehensive integrated testing, which must be successfully completed prior to its inaugural flight. Following this stage, the aircraft will proceed to a flight readiness review, during which NASA will unveil a more specific timeline for the first flight.
Quesst represents a mission with the potential to transform commercial aviation travel by significantly reducing travel times. Safely and reliably deploying the X-59 is crucial for NASA to realize the benefits of this mission. The agency is fully committed to a meticulous review and testing process to ensure the mission’s success.

Ralph Waldo Emerson’s famous observation, made in his 1846 poem Ode, Inscribed to William H. Channing, that “things are in the saddle, and ride mankind,” applies with some force to the current circumstances surrounding the war in Ukraine.
In the past week, reports by Ukrainian media indicate that Russia has deployed 16 ships, including seven carriers equipped with 48 Kalibr cruise missiles, to the Black Sea. U.S. Army Col. (ret.) Douglas Macgregor, a former senior adviser to the acting secretary of defense who is now a contributing editor at The American Conservative, warns, “All the signs point to major offensive action by the Russians.”
At the same time, the U.S. Defense Security and Cooperation Agency has approved a $7.2 billion sale of 32 Lockheed Martin F-35A fighter aircraft to Romania. This comes amid discussions between the Biden administration and the British government on whether to allow Ukraine to use long-range American ATACMS and British Storm Shadow missiles to strike deep inside Russian territory. In response, Russia’s president Vladimir Putin issued what the New York Times referred to as “an unusually specific warning,” saying that the use of ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles would “mean that NATO countries—the United States and European countries—are at war with Russia” because of the need for Western technicians to operate the systems.
And yet the prospect of a direct war between Russia, the United States, and its European allies leaves many within Washington’s foreign policy establishment unmoved. The former State Department official and Catholic University professor Michael Kimmage took to the pages of the Wall Street Journal last week to claim that the war is going so well for Ukraine that “in no way does Kyiv need to sue for peace.” Likewise, an open letter to the administration issued by a group of 17 former ambassadors and generals urged Biden “to lift restrictions on Ukraine’s use of Western-provided weapons to strike deep into Russia.”
