Mon cher Jean-Pierre,

Ça y est, mes plants ont enfin donné des fruits ! Mais ça n’a rien à voir avec ce que je pensais. Le Révérend Leloup, qui écrit cette lettre à ma place, s’est renseigné pour moi et apparemment, les arbres que je cultive se nomment des acajous à pommes. Ils donnent des sortes de pommes à l’envers, dont je ne sais pas vraiment quoi faire car elles commencent à fermenter dès la récolte et je ne peux même pas les vendre. Moi qui pensais récolter des noix... Le rendement est très mauvais ; Hylewood est peut-être trop au nord pour ces plantes. J’attends encore quelques années afin d’atteindre le pic de production, et si les récoltes sont toujours aussi mauvaises, j’abandonne et je me mets à l’ail.

J’espère que tout va bien à la ferme. Je me doute qu’avec un enfant en bas-âge, tes lettres risquent de s’espacer. Embrasse Marianne et André de ma part.

P.S. : J’ai trouvé les noix ! En fait, elles se trouvent au sein du fruit. C’est plutôt bon, très gras, je pourrais peut-être en faire de l’huile ou de la farine.

P.P.S. : Il y a désormais quatre familles à Hylewood dont celle du frère du Révérend, ainsi qu’un couple marié sans enfants. Tous vivent dans des maisons. Te rends-tu compte ? Je suis le seul qui vive encore dans une tente ! J’ai assez de bois pour me construire une maison, mais je n’ai ni les matériaux, ni les connaissances, ni l’argent pour la meubler...

Inside the Chanel workshops, a glimpse of the new dress creation for the Spencer movie poster

Look n°82 of the Spring/Summer 1988 Haute Couture show, the dress was entirely recreated in the Chanel workshops for the film, with embroidery made by Lesage. The embroidery house joined the Chanel Métiers d'art in 2002, and since then has been keen kept its craftmanship. As for the pleating, the dress owes this wonderful volume to the Lognon house, one of Chanel's Métiers d'art since 2013. These technical gestures, combined with the miraculous hands of the five seamstresses, have made it possible to achieve this masterpiece. In total, it took no less than 1,034 hours of work, including 700 for the embroidery alone. The dress is a testiment to the meticulousness of this work as well as the excellence of the house.

Chanel choose once again to partner with Kristen Stewart through this dress. Stewart, being an ambassador of the house, has already been part of the Métiers d'art 2021 campaign. The actress has proved herself to be a modern woman, strong and sensitive at the same time. the Spencer poster is definitely a must-see and only adds to our excitement.

Combining past and present, work and pleasure, sexiness and comfort, Chanel presented its Métiers d’Art 2017/2018 collection in The Elbphilharmonie, a concert hall in the HafenCity quarter of Hamburg, Germany. This amazing piece of archtecture and Karl Lagerfeld’s hometown were the inspiration for this collection. The concert hall, formerly a warehouse is a symbol of how beautiful reinvention can be, which is what the House of Chanel under the creative wing of Kaiser Karl has been doing with such excellence all these years.

The most significant economic unit in Hamburg it’s Port so that’s why Karl brought Paris to Hamburg and made the models wear sailor caps with the luxurious emblem of Chanel. Karl mixed those sexy sea men uniforms with the classic Chanel suit – and now we have a tweed jacket with a sailor collar, which is the chicest detail a jacket could ask for.

The Chanel Métiers d’Art workshops have been exhibiting their exquisite work of art season afrter season, so it’s about time to praise Maison Lasage and Maison Montex for their unique embroidery which gives life to the garment; Maison Massaro for the most beautiful modernized Marie Antoinette shoes from this collection; Maison Lemarie whose feathers and flowers are the most glamorous details of the outfit; Maison Michel for making the sailor cap more fashionable than ever; The Barrie Knitwear mill for the over-sized sweaters that are to die for; Maison Lognon for knowing what to do with every material and how to make it move and float; and Maison Desrues for the most glamorous buttons and accessories a fashion house could ask for. Last but not at all least – a round of applause for maestro Karl Laferfeld for putting this all together in the most classy and elegant way possible. I’m sure Mademoiselle Chanel is very, very pleased.
