Virtual Nightclub: A Game About Time (Windows, Thumb Candy, 1997)
An ambitious sci-fi adventure game which became lost media until 2016. You can download it, pre-configured to run on modern versions of WIndows, here, including a comprehensive guide and a very different unfinished beta version.
You can read the Lost Media Wiki article about it here, and read the guide's writer's thoughts on the game here.
Do any lost media afficionados out there know about some kind of educational show or short featuring creepy claymation presidents that aired sometime in the 1980s? My sister said it scared the hell out of her as a small child but I can't find anything that even vaguely resembles what she describes. (We have already confirmed that it is NOT her misremembering Genesis' Land of Confusion music video)
The Lost Media wiki does realize how STUPID and ABSURD this rule is..right???? If it's LOST media it already is justified to be on the wiki, because it's LOST.
This has been out for a bit but I figured I’d post it here too. This is the Lost Media and Research Handbook, a handbook written by me with the help of others for beginners in lost media hunting and researching obscure topics. It’s entirely free to read, and fairly short.
You can read it here!
It’s still being updated, and if you have any suggestions or questions about the book, please feel free to send me an email or a message! I’ll try to get back to you when I can. I really hope this will clear up a lot of things for people and get them on the right track.
is there anyone out there that can help me find this game?
Hi, so ive been on and off searching for this specific release of The Oregon trail ( by Gameloft ) for roughly ten years now. i believe this game was released around the timeframe of 2010-2011, and the price was somewhere around 2-4 dollars.
every single time i have tried to search for this game, its been nothing but dead links or a virus ridden site or a site that does not exist anymore or broken pages and more dead links. i am wondering if anyone out there also recodnizes playing this specific version of this game and if they know where to download and play it today? or where else i could post about this to find this game?
NOTE: I am NOT talking about the spinoff: the Oregon trail: American settler, which is a town builder a la farmville. i am talking about the original Oregon Trail game (which also had theese exact characters) and from my memory did NOT have microtransactions and instead was a one time purchase
the fact Hitogata might’ve just been posted to r/oddlyterrifying and no one is noticing it is driving me nuts. haven’t heard from anyone in the community about it, brought it up in the discord so it’s still up in the air but like its super similar
lost media wiki be like "the tape is confirmed to exist and the owner has said the master is being kept in safe deposit box. duplicate copies can be viewed by appointment at various media archive centers. however, since it's not YouTube at the moment, it is considered permanently lost"
i want to bring the natm search and its findings to the attention of the lost media wiki but they seem so professional and i’m just here for the gay miniatures. it’s intimidating, really! they’re out here finding years-old shows lost to time and lost snippets of films and i’m just vibing and sometimes finding an interview on youtube
lmw i love you and your users so much. someday i’ll work up the courage to submit an article but until then i hope you find neat shit
Im thinking about making a lost media sideblog (ik ik i already made one sideblog this week) because im genuinely getting back into lost media, and since im becoming more active and comfortable on discord again I might start becoming active in the lost media community more than just watching videos, browsing the LMW/Forums, or commenting on videos
